Chapter Fourteen-Clues to a Mystery
After Alice decided to head back to the dormitory the rest of the school were in the Great hall. She just wanted to lay in her bed alone for a while. For the first time in a long time she was feeling so alone. She will get Jasper back even if means it costs her own life. All she cared about right now was Jasper her best, best friend in the whole school. Tears were still flowing from her green eyes until they were red and swollen.
Her heart was still mending itself. It was just taking a very long time to mend though. A soft knock on the door snapped her out of her sad thoughts. The door slowly opened and in came both Alicia and Ginny. They just wanted to make sure that Alice was okay. When they saw that her eyes were swollen; they gasped. Ginny was feeling both guilty and remorseful for starting to write in that diary. She never meant to hurt Alice by setting the monster on Jasper, but she didn't remember doing it.
"Alice, are you okay? Your eyes are all swollen and red. You will get him back by the end of the year."
"Alicia, without Jasper here I'm beginning to limp now. It is like something in my heart is missing."
Ginny looked up shocked at the when she heard that Alice was definitely affected by this. She was the only person to be truly effected by the attacks on the school. "Alice, I'm so sorry about Jasper. I won't tell anyone how this affected you. This will be kept a secret between us."
"Come Alice you need to come downstairs for a bit. You can't stay up here the whole time."
Alicia and Ginny helped Alice to stand up. She was limping towards the door. The three girls headed down to the common room where luckily where no one was hanging out. The common room was empty where only a roaring fire was the only sound. Alice's eyes were finally shrinking down to their normal size. "My eyes are back to their normal size, but they are still red."
"That's good, Alice. I'm glad that we are friends. Your brother doesn't know about our friendship does he?'
"No, he doesn't. However, I do know that you like him, so I won't say anything about that."
"Thank You Alice."
All of a sudden the portrait hole swung open and in came Hope and her two friends. Her best friends were Jenny Anderson and Alexandra Carter. Jenny had soft auburn hair that went down half her back. Alexandra who likes to be called Alex has long straight light brown hair that was also soft. Both of them knew sign language, so they helped Hope from the beginning. The three of them became fast friends. Even though Alexandra was a chaser on the reserve team she finds away to help her friend during her time off.
Alexandra was very confused as to what was going on. "What's wrong? Is Alice okay?"
"Her best friend was petrified yesterday. She's in pain without Jasper. It's like she is half empty without him. She's fine for now."
"Alice, are you sure you are going to be okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine, Alex."
The three friends headed up to their dormitory to communicate in private. While they were climbing the stairs Alice's eyes glazed over. She was having a vision of something that would hopefully help her to figure out this mystery. She did know a few things, but not everything. Harry on the other hand didn't know anything that was going on. All that he knew was that someone had opened the chamber of secrets.
Alicia, Alice, and Ginny talked for a while longer. Harry and Ron came through the portrait hole. They noticed Alice sitting by the fire surrounded by one of her teammates and a first year. Ron knew that it was his sister, Ginny. He also knew that she became good friends with Alice. All of a sudden Neville came running down from the boys dormitory. "Harry you better come quickly."
As Ron and Harry followed Neville up to their dormitory, Alicia went to her own. "Ginny, you didn't take it back did you?"
"Alice, I had to. I'll protect you from the diary no matter what."
"Ginny, I know what you are trying to say, but please you must be careful. By the way Harry and Ron are going to find out the truth later tonight. They think that Hagrid opened the Chamber of Secrets fifty years ago."
"You know who opened it years ago don't you?"
"Of course, I do, but I don't think I should tell you. If you think about it then you should know. Just looked on the back of the black book, and you should know."
After a few minutes Ginny realized who opened the Chamber last time. She gasped to know that she technically knew him. "Of course, it's him. He framed Hagrid didn't he? Alice, how long do you think to can go without Jasper along side you?"
"I don't know, Ginny. I can hardly feel him, but I know that he is alive. It hurts when he is not here. I think that I can go at least another month or so."
"Are you sure, Alice?"
"Yes, I am sure. Now let's talk about something else please."
Alice had taken the animagus potion to see what her third animal was. She not only was a cat, a phoenix, but a deer as well. She had seen Ginny take the potion as well in a few years, and she was a horse and another animal. "Alice, what are you thinking about?"
"Not much Ginny. I have a feeling that Ron and Harry are going to do something stupid."
"What do you mean by that, Alice?"
"They have a feeling that they would go into forbidden forest to find out the truth about Hagrid."
"You know the truth about him don't you?"
Alice sighed. "Of course, I do know the truth about Hagrid."
"Alice, is there anything else you would like to tell me?'
"There is one thing, but you must promise not to tell anyone."
"I promise, Alice."
" Professor McGonagall is my godmother. She told me when she told me about my grades."
Later Professor McGonagall led the Gryffindors' down to the Great Hall. Alice and Ginny sat next to each other at the Gryffindor table. Of course, Ron and Harry haven't come down to the Great Hall yet, which was a surprise. However, Alice knew exactly knew why her brother wasn't there yet. Professor McGonagall stood up at the heads table. "The mandrakes will soon be mature enough to stew, so we can revive the people in the hospital wing."
Alice felt her heart swell in happiness. Her happiness wasn't shown physically though. Only Ginny notice because how stiff Alice went just then. Before Ginny could ask anything food appeared on the gold plates right in front of them. Just as the hall began eating Alice's eyes glazed over for a quick second before returning to focus.
"Alice, are you okay? What did you see?"
"I'm fine Ginny. I saw our brothers going into to the forest later tonight. They will be following a group of spiders."
"Ron's afraid of spiders, so why would he want to follow them?"
"I have no idea, Ginny. I do know that they will find out the truth. I believe that they won't know who technically opened the chamber of secrets until later. Your secret is safe with me, and I won't say anything until you want me to."
"Thank you Alice. You really are a true friend."
Professor McGonagall walked up to the two girls at the Gryffindor table. Alice knew that Professor McGonagall had something. "Ms. Potter and Ms. Weasley please come with me"
Alice and Ginny got up from the table, and followed the professor out of the hall. Within ten minutes all three of them reached Professor McGonagall's office. "Professor what did you find out?"
"You and Mr. Hale either have a soul bond or you two are soul mates."
"I'm guessing that you don't want me to say anything about this to anyone."
"That is correct, Ms. Weasley. Now let's head back to the Great Hall."
Alice and Ginny once again followed Professor McGonagall. Within ten minutes they were back in the Great Hall. The two students sat down at the Gryffindor table while Professor McGonagall went back up the head table. Alice lifted her necklace that Jasper gave her in her right hand. The only person who seemed to have notice was Ginny. She knew that she needed to somehow make it up to her new friend.
Another half an hour had gone by before Professor McGonagall led the whole of Gryffindor house back to the tower. Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin were each lead by their head of house. While Alice was walking she could only think about Jasper. She hoped that he would be okay when he came out of the sate that he was in right now. Without knowing she was all of a sudden right outside of the portrait hole. She walked through the entrance, and headed straight to bed.
She changed out of her robes and into her nightgown. She always kept her necklace around her neck. Even though Jasper wasn't with her physically he is in her heart. He will always be with her no matter what. She finally closed the curtains around her bed and quickly fell asleep. All that she dreamed about was Jasper. He was telling her to hold on until he came back to her, which would be soon. He was also telling her that he loved her very much.
In the morning Alice woke up feeling better then she since she did after Jasper was attack. She quickly got dresses and headed down to the common room. She saw that Harry and Ron were already up, and they were smiling. Harry turned around and saw his sister come down. He rushed over to her. "Ali, Hagrid is innocent."
"Of course, Hagrid is innocent. He was framed Harry. I have known for awhile."
She headed down to the Great Hall alone. She just wanted to be alone for a couple of hours. She didn't know why, but she thought that she would be able to think for a bit. Her necklace was the only thing that she had to remind her of her best friend. A few tears rolled down her cheek. A few minutes later food magically appeared on the gold plate in front of her. As soon as she began to eat Harry and Ron came in as well as a few Ravenclaws. Harry and Ron sat across from Alice. "Alice, are you okay?"
"Of course, I'm okay, Harry." Neither Harry nor Ron realized that she just lied to them.
A few moments later the rest of the school arrived. Ginny was completely different then she was the night before. "Harry… I need… to tell you something." She was almost completely hysterical.
"Ginny what do you need to tell me?"
She opened her mouth, but nothing came out. Percy came to the Gryffindor table. "Are you finished, Ginny? If you are I'll take your seat." She quickly got up and raced out of the Great Hall. "Pass the hash browns, Harry."
Alice got up from the table and left the hall. She headed straight to her first class, since she did bring her book bag with her. It was more of an excuse to think. "I miss your so much, Jasper," she whispered to herself. She continued on to the classroom all by herself. She knew that it was dangerous, but she didn't care. All she cared about was Jasper being revived soon. "I need you so much, Jazz." Finally, she reached the classroom door.
Please Review. Sorry this took so long, but I had some technical difficulties with word. Word has been fixed. As always if you would like to add a character of your own put the name, house, and year in the box below. Disclaimer, I don't own Twilight or Harry Potter. The next update might take awhile because I have a lot of work to do.
