Chapter 13
Hikari's P.O.V.
~Dream~
A 5 year old girl stood by a tree, it was sunny, she then turned when she heard her name being called. A smile on her face.
"Mommy, Daddy!" She yelled out happily before running towards them, laughing along the way. Today was the day her parents came back from a job, that they just recently completed. The family of three laughed out of joy as they hugged each other, they talked, played and laughed amongst one another as both of the parents hadn't seen their child for a whole month.
"Happy birthday, my little princess!" Her father spoke, the little girls face brightening up by these words, she hugged her father tightly, she loved her parents so much that she didn't know what she would do without them. Her mother took out a small silver book from her purse before passing it to her daughter, inside the book was a beautiful gold locket, the little girl smiled.
"Oh thank you mommy! This is the best present ever!" She went to hug her mother, but that's when it happened, darkness filled the sky and shadows moved through the trees. The family looked around alarmed, sensing the danger that approached, the woman grabbed her daughter quickly and ran for their lives. The father stayed behind to stall the said danger, to fight for and to defend his family.
After running for what seemed like hours, a loud scream of agony could be heard coming from behind them, the woman went into a fit of tears yet continued to run while still holding her daughters hand. Just ahead she saw a small cave, just big enough to hide a small person inside, she gently but firmly pushed her daughter inside.
"Hikari, baby, you need to hide in there, please! And remember, if anything were to happen, I love you, always have and always will. Now hide, you need to stay safe!" She kissed her daughter's forehead. The little girl known as Hikari, stayed there in the cave hidden, scared and feeling helpless, she heard the flap of wings in the distance, and a few roars but after an hour it went quiet. The next thing she knew, there was a dark figure standing at the foot of the cave, a figure of a dark man, with a murderous look on his face, looking down at Hikari with such hatred in his eyes.
I watched the entire scene from above, I found it quite ironic that the little girl had the same name as me. I watched as the man fought off these shadow creature, they seemed familiar to me, but he screamed out in pain when some of them managed to bite him but out of stubbornness, he continued to fight. It wasn't long until the woman joined the battle, they were winning which I smiled at and felt myself relaxing, but that ended quickly, my eyes widened in fear as I saw a man with black hair and red eyes walk in their direction. I knew this family was no match for him, so I swooped down letting out a loud roar escape my lips. The couple looked up at me alarmed, ready to defend themselves against me but I was attacking the shadow creatures, while trying to get to the man but I couldn't get close, even for a second.
"WHY ARE YOU HELPING US!?" The woman yelled frantically, I looked over towards her and the man.
"Because I hate to see humans suffer! Plus I have business with that man!" I spoke out while turning back to my fight. I shot a beam of light at the remaining enemies but then noticed the man was long gone. I looked in the direction the child was hidden in and was suddenly alarmed, the parents had a look of recognition on their faces before panicking.
"OH NO! Our baby girl!" Both parents yelled as they went to run in that direction, that is until I stopped them by blocking their way.
"STOP!"
"NO! WE ARE NOT GOING TO ABANDON OUR DAUGHTER!"
"I wasn't implying that! You need to calm down and wait here while I deal with this situation. I'll save your daughter!" The two looked at each other before looking back up at me, before reluctantly nodding. I started to flap my wings and went high into the sky, then looked back down looking for the man. When I did happen to see him, he was standing over the little girl and even though I was far up above them, I could see his lips moving. I swooped down quickly, and when I reached them, the man looked up at me and seemed alarmed by my presence before running off. It wasn't like him to run away like that, but in that spilt second, I noticed that he remembered me. His eyes filled with hatred and fear yet there was also pain to be seen, that is what confused me the most.
End of dream
Normal P.O.V.
"Ossan.. That arm…" Gray stuttered out as he looked at the arm Bobo showed them.
"The curse… You mean… Um.." Lucy too stuttered out, careful not to wake Hikari up. Bobo looked down at the group of mages before looking up, that is when he noticed that Garuna Island laid there in front of them. He spoke.
"There it is. Garuna Island." Lucy, Gray and Happy turned, looking surprised a little. Lucy then turned to speak to Bobo.
"Hey… Oji-San." Lucy spoke but then soon realised that Bobo had disappeared and it wasn't long after that happy and Gray noticed too.
"!"
"H-Huh? Where is he?" Lucy spoke nervously, sweat dripping down from her forehead.
"DID HE FALL?" Gray yelled suddenly turning to look down into the water; Happy was already ahead of him and was swimming underneath the boat looking for Bobo, before resurfacing.
"He's not here." Happy said as soon as he caught his breath.
"WHAT!? WHAT GOING ON?" Both Gray and Lucy yelled. Natsu who was still leaning over the side of the boat because of his motion sickness, managed to notice something or more like heard something in the distance and stuttered out a few words.
"Wha-What's that sound?" Gray and Lucy turn around fearfully, just as Happy climbed back into the boat. There eyes widened to see a huge tidal wave coming right at them and it started to lift the boat a little.
"KYAAAAA! TIDAL WAVE!" They screamed.
"WE'RE BEING SUCKED IN!"
"HAPPY! LIFT THIS BOAT UP AND FLY!"
"THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!"
"HEY HURRY UP AND UNTIE ME! I'M GONNA DIE!" The next thing to happen is that the entire boat was then engulfed by the water and everything then went calm. The next morning, Lucy was the first to wake up after the incident, only to find her lying on the beach of Garuna Island, she looked around.
"This is…. Is everyone ok?" She spoke calmly at first but then noticed everyone else lying down on the sand. Natsu was the second person to sit up; he looked excited, nothing new there.
"WOW! Are we there!? Are we on Garuna Island!?"
"I guess yesterday's tidal wave wash us ashore." Lucy spoke, picking up her bag before looking down at Hikari who was still asleep. She wondered if she should wake her up, but figured she must have been tired, to sleep through the whole incident.
"But what was that anyway? That arm… The demonic curse? And the old man disappearing." Lucy spoke again, holding her chin while she thought about last night's discussion. Natsu held both his arms up while facing the island.
"DON'T WORRY! LET'S GO EXPLORE! EXPLORE!"
"AYE SIR!" Happy agreed just as eagerly.
"Shouldn't we be more concerned about it considering its our job!?" Lucy spoke, while she was speaking Natsu had turned back to them before picking Hikari up and placed her on his back while she slept peacefully, then looked at Lucy who continued to speak.
"There's supposed to be a village on this island. The mayor there is our client for this job. We should go there first."
"Wait." Lucy, Natsu and Happy turned towards Gray who was standing up but had clearly just spoken to them, Natsu spoke.
"What!? We've already come this far; you can't take us back!"
"No. I'm coming with you guys." The three that were listening looked at him, surprised by his words. Gray continued.
"It'd irritate me if you guys get to the second floor first. Heck I'm surprised Hikari's allowed. And if you guys get expelled, then that'd be boring. Let's go."
They all smiled and started walking further into the island, they soon saw a gate far up the hill and so they started walking in that direction. But half way up the hill, Natsu felt something wet drip down his shoulder and he looked back to see Hikari crying in her sleep. His eyes widened.
"Hikari! Oi Hikari wake up!" Natsu started to shake her a little, Lucy, Gray and Happy soon noticed he had stopped, Gray asked.
"What's wrong?"
"It's Hikari! She's crying! Hikari wake up!" Natsu continued to try to wake her up, the tears falling more than earlier, she started to move, tightening her grip on Natsu, even though it was unconsciously.
"This isn't the first time I've seen this. Hikari-Chan sometimes had nightmare of her past but that's all I know. She never really told me much about that." Lucy spoke calmly, a frown upon her lips.
"I wonder why though. She is always happy, I've never seen her upset, angry yes, but not upset." Gray spoke, his curiosity hit him, he wanted to know what she was hiding yet right now he was worried for his friend. Natsu continued to shake her, that is until she started to stir.
Hikari's P.O.V.
"HIKARI! Wake up!" I heard his voice yell out to me, I could hear Natsu's voice calling out to me trying to wake me up and soon I found the strength to wake up. I found myself being carried on his back, I felt tear rolling down my cheeks and then four faces looking at me in worry.
"Hey guys. What up?" I spoke calmly.
"That should be our question. Are you okay, Hikari-Chan?" I smiled.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry for making you guys worry." I was going to hop of Natsu's back but his grip on me tightened, telling me to stay there. I felt my face heat up, Happy, and Lucy had big grins on their faces, they both spoke.
"He liiiiiikkkkkeesss yooouuuu!" My blush darkened, I knew that and hid my face in Natsu neck. I felt Natsu shiver, I wondered why.
Natsu's P.O.V.
I had felt her tear run down my arm, it had made me worry a lot. She was my friend after all, but I have this strange feeling that I had to have her close to me at all time, like more than a friend should. I felt this strange protectiveness over her and I could figure out why. I didn't notice what Lucy and Happy said to Hikari but that they were teasing her just as my grip tightened about her and then I felt her hide her face in the crook of my neck and her breath on my skin made me shiver.
What was happening to me?
Hikari's P.O.V.
We reached the gate to the village, the rest of the journey up the hill, the guys had filled me in on what I missed and I was shocked that I managed to sleep through an entire tidal wave. I hopped off of Natsu's back but stayed standing next to him as he didn't let go of my hand. We noticed a sign on the wood wall, it said: KEEP OUT.
"Keep out… What kind of village is this?" Gray asked quietly, I answered.
"They must like their privacy a bit. Probably because of the curse." Gray nodded, accepting that excuse.
"EXCUSE US! COULD YOU OPEN THE GATE?" Lucy called out, hoping to get an answer from the village.
"I don't think you care about the sign, do you?" I muttered under my breath.
"Hmm?" Lucy looked at me. I smile innocently.
" Nothing." I waved my hands at her.
"This sucks." Natsu said, I could hear the impatience in his voice. He spoke again.
"Let's break it." I laughed a little, I wasn't surprised by this really. Lucy turned on us.
"NO!"I laughed harder. We soon heard voices coming from above us.
"Who's there?" We looked up to see two people looking over the wall and down at us. Lucy spoke.
"We're from the mage guild Fairy Tail… Erm… We saw your request…." Lucy spoke up again, a smile on her face.
"Fairy Tail? We know nothing about you guys accepting our request."
"Well.. Urm.." Lucy struggled for words. I spoke up.
"There was some confusion."
"If we can't get in, we'll leave though." Gray spoke. Natsu glared at the ice mad and yelled.
"I'M NOT LEAVING!"
"Shut up." Gray and I whispered. I gave Natsu's hand a small squeeze, he returned it. The man that was stood on the top of the wall looked like he was thinking but he then spoke again.
"Show me your symbols." And that is what we did, showed them. I turned a little before lifting my right leg a little so that he could see my blue mark that was on my thigh. Soon though I was back standing like normal waiting for whatever happened next. I heard them mumbling about something but couldn't make it out due to the slight wind. The man spoke again.
"Strip the girls." Huh? What the hell did he say? I glared up at the man, but then Natsu stood in front of me protectively but didn't say anything. I saw Gray try to strip Lucy but of course she freaked out over it all.
"WHY! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS! HEY DON'T TAKE THEM OFF!" Lucy yelled, though the second part was aimed at Gray who had managed to partially take her coat off. The man spoke again.
"Uhmm…. Sorry, I got carried away." My eye twitched in annoyance at that and I would of climbed up there to pummel him, but Natsu's hand kept me calm. That's is when I noticed Natsu was holding my hand again, I blushed.
"Get in… I'll get the mayor." With that said by the mysterious man, we walked inside the gate that had just opened. I looked around, the houses where small and made out of wood and straw but I found it a little cute. Plus the village looked a little big, just enough for quite a few families to live in. Soon we saw the villagers walk up to us and I'm guessing the one in the middle, with the large stick was the mayor. That was confirmed when said person walked up closer to us and began speaking.
"Thank you for coming, Mages. I'm sorry if this seems sudden, but please look at this. Everyone, take off your robes." And soon after that they all took of their robes and each and every single one of them had demon parts on their bodies, whether it was an arm, a horn or leg etc. This is what the curse was, I gasped.
"I knew it…" Gray spoke as he looked around. Lucy gulped out of shock as she too looked around.
"Awesome sideburns!" Natsu spoke excitedly, I hit him upside the head for being an idiot.
"Idiot! That's a part of the curse." I spoke darkly. Natsu was rubbing were I had hit him as he looked at me before mumbling.
"S-Sorry." I looked over at the mayor and motioned for him to explain.
"Well.. I actually wanted to show you this hand… Did I surprise you? Everyone on this island… even the dogs and birds, are affected by this curse." I looked at the mayor in surprise, in all my years I had never heard such a curse, ever. Gray spoke then.
"It's not like I'm questioning you, but what makes you think there is a 'curse' on this island? Can't it be some kind of disease?" I was going to answer that, this was no disease, there isn't such a thing as getting a demonic arm for a disease. Not possible. The mayor spoke though before I got the chance to.
"I've shown it this to many doctors, but they all say there's no such disease. Also… The moons 'magical power' has something to do with how we look." I looked up at the sky wondering how that was possible but I knew I'd have to wait until I saw the moon, I heard Lucy speak.
"The moons magical power?"
"Ever since ancient times, this island has accumulated moonlight. This made the island so beautiful that it shined like the moon. But a few years ago, the moonlight suddenly started to turn purple." I listened to the story and was looking at the mayor, even I haven't heard of a purple moon.
"Purple!? I've never seen the moon like that." Natsu spoke, looking a little freaked out himself.
"Nope." Lucy agreed.
"People from the mainland all say that… But in reality… The moon did turn purple on this island… After the purple moon showed up, our bodies started to change." I looked up at the sky again only the notice the moon was up and my eyes widened when I was that it really was purple.
"The moon is up!" I heard Happy exclaimed, though I kept my eyes glued to the moon. I knew everyone else was looking to.
"It's true… It's purple..." Lucy spoke. Gray too spoke up.
"The moon… is creepy…" I looked back at the mayor and the rest of the villagers, feeling like I needed to pay close attention to them. The mayor spoke, even though he was sweating a little.
"This is the curse of the moon's magical power." As soon as he finished that sentence he, along with the rest of the villagers, started screaming out in pain. I looked around in alarm watching each and every one of them transform into demons. My teammates too looked alarm and possibly scared at what was now in front of us.
"Sorry if we scared you… When the purple moon is out… our bodies change into these ugly demons. If this isn't a curse, then what is it?" The villagers started to cry, some of the adults had to even try to comfort the children, even though they too were crying.
"Once it becomes morning, everyone will turn back to their original forms… But… Recently there were some people who didn't change back and lost their soul." The mayor continued speaking.
"Can't be..." Lucy muttered.
"We decided to kill anyone who'd lose their soul and turn into a real demon."
"EVEN IF THERE'S A CHANCE THAT THEY MIGHT CHANGE BACK TO THEIR ORIGINAL FORM!?" Natsu yelled at the mayor.
"If we'd let them live, others might get killed by those demons… And even if we'd lock them up, they'd just break out and escape…" The mayor then showed us a picture, it was a picture of Bobo, my eyes widened a little. The mayor spoke again.
"That's why… I had to kill my son as well. My son, whose soul became evil…" This was shocking news, didn't we see Bobo just yesterday..? Lucy started to speak but got interrupted by Gray.
"But… yesterday, we…."
"Shhh! I guess we know now why he just vanished. I'm sure… He can't rest in peace like that." So then Bobo was a ghost? That can't be right, but looking at the mood it had to be. Damn it, I'm fed up of knowing people have died knowing they could've been saved.
"I acknowledge you as famous mages. Please save our island… if this keeps going… Everyone… Will lose their soul… And turn into demons…" I looked at him, feeling extremely sorry for him, Natsu spoke up.
"I won't let that happen!" I smiled at him, knowing that he wouldn't give up until he has saved them.
"There is only one way to get rid of this curse… PLEASE DESTROY THE MOON." The mayor yelled the last part in desperation.
"WHAT!?" We looked at the mayor in shock but soon enough we had calmed down and soon we were shown to where we were going to sleep. I was about to enter when the mayor walked up to me and spoke.
"Can I have a minute? Just you and no-one else?" I looked back at my team who looked concern and Natsu was about to interfere, I nodded.
"Sure. Guys don't worry just go inside and rest." I spoke, I then walked off with the mayor to a quiet part of the village, which was where a grave was found.
"This is my sons grave. No one should disturb us here." I looked at him with sympathy but waited for him to speak.
"It must seem strange to you that I pull only you to one side and no one else. But there's something about you that is different from the rest of your team. You're not human. Are you?" He asked, trying not to seem rude. I looked up at the sky and sighed.
"No I'm not. If I was to admit on what I am, it scares me to know that everyone could be scared. So I just choose to hide it." I looked down at him.
"I know you are the mayor but what is your name exactly? And how did you know about me?" I asked cautiously.
"Oh I do apologize my dear. My name is Mocha, the mayor of this village. And I could sense something from you." My eyes widened by that last bit.
"Sensed what, exactly?"
"I sense a deep darkness in you. The most evilest darkness in you." I stood there in complete shock and fear. I wasn't shocked to hear I had darkness in me, I already knew it was there but I was shocked about what darkness that he could sense. I glared down at the ground knowing full well that this darkness will always be with me, even if I tried to will it away. I've been fighting it for a LONG time now. It scares me.
"I knew it was there. I always have known about it. I'm sorry if I'm upsetting you by being here." I apologized while bowing slightly to Mocha.
"Please, it's alright. I just wanted to know if you were aware of it is all. Please rise you head, no need to bow… Urm" He looked confused and realized out of my shock and panic that I never gave him my name.
"My name is Hikari Dovah. Pleased to meet you." He smiled and then we started to head back but then I stopped by the gates, Mocha turned in confusion.
"Could you please tell my teammates that I've gone for a long walk and not to worry? Please." Mocha nodded and headed off to tell them.
I walked out the village in into the forest, I decided to look around but my mind was on the conversation I had with Mocha. How did he sense the darkness. How did he know of me not being human? I didn't get it. I ended up just walking around the entire island. I knew that when morning came I would've either have fallen asleep at a random place or I'd have done a lot of laps around the island. All I know is that I needed to get rid of this frustration, and fast too.
Normal P.O.V. ~With the rest of the team~
"The more I look at the moon, the creepier it gets." Happy spoke as he looked out the window that he had opened a little earlier. Lucy looked over at him before speaking.
"Happy, hurry up and close the window. Didn't you hear what the mayor said?" Lucy said as she was tidying everything up in her suitcase.
"What was it?" Happy asked looking over at his blonde teammate.
"If we get too much moonlight, we turn into devils as well." Lucy spoke, soon Natsu and Gray joined in on the conversation.
"But then, that's really troublesome."
"No way we could destroy the moon…"
"Yeah.." Lucy mumbled before thinking 'I wonder where Hikari went? I hope she's ok, after all when the mayor told she left for a bit, he sounded worried.'
"I have no idea how many punches it'd take to destroy it." Natsu spoke, thinking to himself. Gray looked at him with huge eyes, freaking out.
"YOU'RE ACTUALLY GONNA TRY!?" Gray yelled at him frantically, before calming down before speaking again.
"It's impossible to destroy a moon."
"I agree… I think no mage can do such a thing." Lucy said giving a shrug.
"But 'Destroy the moon' is the request this time. If we can't do it, that'd be a disgrace for Fairy Tail." Natsu spoke seriously, looking at Gray and Lucy.
"Whatever, impossible remains impossible! First of all, how are going to get to the moon?" Gray spoke feeling irritated and impatient. Natsu answered.
"Happy. Or Hikari even."
"I can't do that. And I doubt Hikari would either." Happy spoke.
"'Destroy the moon', that solution comes from the victims point of view. There should be some other way to break the spell." Lucy said trying to think of different things all at once.
"I wish there was. And where'd Hikari go?" Gray asked looking towards the door.
"I don't know. I too am a little worried but she'll be fine, she's strong." Lucy spoke.
"LET GO FIND HER!" Natsu yelled excitedly, but they knew that not only did want to look for Hikari but he wanted to explore more. Lucy stood in front of the door, stopping Natsu from leaving.
"Natsu, stop. I'm just as worried about Hikari but we need rest and plus I said she was strong. She'll turn up at some point. Trust her." Lucy spoke even though she too want to go look for her best friend.
"Fine, fine. Tch. Tomorrow we'll explore the island! And if Hikari isn't back by then we'll go looking for her! Let's just sleep tonight!" Natsu said as he flopped down on to his futon that was already laid out. Happy followed his example.
"Aye sir!"
"We'll think about it tomorrow." Gray said as he too laid down comfortably. Lucy smiled before stretching, before looking at the door worriedly before looking back down at the guys.
"Yeah, I'm sleepy too. Good night." And with that she laid down in between the two and closed her eyes and laid there for a few minutes before she sat up quickly and yelled.
"HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO SLEEP BETWEEN AN ANIMAL AND A PERVERT!? PLUS HIKARI ISN'T HERE! Why am I even in the same room as these two?"
~The next day~
The team was walking through the village, it was very early in the morning. Hikari still hasn't returned which made them worried but due to the fact they only just woke up, Lucy was the only one showing it.
"It's too early."
"It's still early in the morning." Gray said agreeing to Natsu's comment.
"Aye." Happy spoke as he lain on a box that was nearby. Lucy turned back to the three.
"Why do you think I was unable to sleep!? We're leaving, let's go! Plus we need to find Hikari."
"Weren't you able to sleep last night because you were surrounded by devils?" They heard a voice from above, Lucy looked up and then answered the question that was given to them by the villager.
"It's not that. Don't worry about it." Gray spoke next.
"We want to investigate the island the island a little before we destroy the moon. Plus we need to find a teammate of ours. Can you please open the gate." Natsu looked at him, surprised.
"WHAT!? ARE WE GONNA DESTROY IT AFTER ALL!?" Natsu yelled.
"Go ahead and your fried went off in that direction." The villager said opening the gate the point in the direction Hikari left the previous night. The team left, but the villager didn't notice.
"But please, be careful… In the forest there is.." He turned and notice they were long gone.
"Ah… They're gone."
"WHAT IS THIS!? YESTERDAY YOU INSISTED THAT ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO DESTROY TO MOON!" Natsu yelled.
"It is impossible. I just said that in front of the townspeople. Even if we can destroy it, we won't. Because we wouldn't be able to enjoy the moon anymore." Gray spoke, trying to explain it to Natsu, who then replied.
"OH YEAH. WE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO ENJOY THE LIMITED-TIME FAIRY TAIL SPECIAL: MOON VIEWING STREAK!" Natsu exclaimed now realising what would happen if they did destroy the moon.
"I wouldn't stand having to do without my moon-viewing salty fish!" Happy said, joining the conversation.
"Hey, guys, tone it down a little? We never know what's surrounding us." They turn to see her using her clock spirit which spoke after that sentence.
"… She says."
"Why don't you walk on your own?" Natsu asks looking back at her.
"Are you sure you're using you stellar spirit the right way?" Gray asks.
"B-But our opponent is a 'curse' this time. Something unsubstantial is creepy!…. She says."
"S-CLASS QUEST! I'M BURNING WITH PASSION!" Natsu yelled excitedly as he started walking again.
"I'll freeze the curse. Don't freak out." Gray said coolly following Natsu in the same direction.
"You're really dumb….. She says."
"Hey, I want to get in as well." Happy says before climbing in next to Lucy. Then a noise could be heard, the boys looked around, alarmed by the loud sound.
"Hrmm?"
"What is it?"
The turned and saw a monster like rat that was absolutely gigantic. They yelled out in surprise.
Hikari's P.O.V.
I woke up from where I was laying, last night I got so tired from walking that I climbed into the nearest tree and fell asleep on one of its many branches. I had done 2 laps of the island looking around and I had found something but I chose to wait until I was with my team. I looked around to see it was morning and by how low the sun was I could tell it was still early.
I looked up and was lucky to see some fruit and pick one up to eat it but just after 2 almost 3 bites I heard a loud noise coming from my far left and noticed a large rat looking down at something. People I guessed and went to eat again but froze when I heard the voices of my team yelling out. I jumped out of the tree and started running in their direction. I saw that thing spit out something from its mouth that looked like dust or something around that but by god… it stinks like hell. I stopped and covered my nose. After a small while I heard Gray yell, probably to Natsu, Lucy and Happy.
"RUUUN!" And next thing I knew, the rat was chasing after them and me chasing the rat. I saw them ahead of me running for their lives, I heard them cursing, I summoned scales to my hands and arms and then ran faster jumping up so I'm above the rat and punched it,hard. The rat collapsed into the ground unconscious, a huge dent into the ground. My teammates turned around from hearing the sound and looked surprised yet happy to see me.
"HIKARI!" They yelled happily, Happy flew over to me and into my arms giving me a hug. I was then engulfed into a bigger hug by Natsu.
"Where've you been? We were worried!" Natsu asked, his arms tightening around me, I hugged him back.
"I went for a walk and did at least 2 laps of the whole island. I was also doing a bit of an investigation and I found something." I spoke after pulling away from the hug.
"Found what?" Gray asked curiously.
"Follow me." I said as I walked off in the direction we needed to go. I heard the three of them follow me, Happy back in my arms(Happy had escaped before Natsu hugged her).
"Here, I found these ruins late last night but I didn't go in. I waited until I was with you guys again." I spoke as soon as I saw the ruins just up ahead. We then entered and found it big on the inside.
"Uwah, it's spacious…"
"It's shabby…"
"I wonder when it was built…"
"A long time ago I think…" I t was dark inside slightly, despite it being sunny outside and the light was shining inside. Natsu spoke.
"Look, there are some moon-shaped marks."
"The island was originally called Moon Island." Gray spoke, looking up at the marking too.
"Moon Island and moon's curse…. Moon shaped marks. This remains suspicious." Lucy spoke, thinking out loud.
"Lucy, look." Happy spoke while holding up a bone.
"WHAT ARE YOU, A DOG!?" Lucy yelled, waking up from her thoughts. Throughout the time we stepped inside the ruins, I stayed quiet, I was still thinking of last night's conversation with Mocha but I then notice Natsu stomping on the ground. He spoke.
"It's really shabby… Is this floor even sturdy enough?" He continued to stomp on the floor, possible even harder.
"HEY STOP THAT! YOU JUST SAID IT WAS SHABBY YOURSELF!" Lucy yelled over to him.
"Natsu, sto-" I got interrupted when the floor collapsed on us and we ended up falling. I felt arms wrap around me and noticed they belonged to Natsu; he was protecting me by taking the brunt of the fall, I blushed and held on to him tightly. I wanted to summon my wings, but the air pressure of falling at such a speed was impossible for me, plus Natsu's arms were in the way, I felt like cursing for being useless right now.
"IDIOT!" I heard Gray scream in our direction, obviously aimed at Natsu.
"THIS FLOORS GOT NO GUTS!"Natsu yelled back.
"HOW CAN A FLOOR HAVE ANY KIND OF GUTS!?" I was thinking that same question but I chose to stay quiet to busy concentrated on the fact we were falling. I heard Lucy yell something and Happy giving a reply but I was too far in the I'm-not-paying-any-attention mood and was looking for the ground but it was too dark to see. Next thing we knew we had hit a rock ground and I lost conscious, but it didn't last long.
"Hey… Are you all ok?" Natsu's voice woke me up and I opened my eyes to see I was in Natsu's lap, his arms around me protectively.
"I'm fine." I spoke quietly trying to think of what just happened and then remembered we had fallen down from above due to Natsu's idiotic behaviour. I wasn't paying much attention and stood up and off of Natsu's lap who then seemed to look disappointed by my actions by I shrugged it off a little. I heard them yelling, but then again I wasn't paying much attention, I felt a darkness here, something wasn't right and it was coming from the direction that Natsu was now walking in. I followed him along with Gray, Lucy and Happy.
"You okay?" I looked over to Lucy who was looking over at me in concern. I smiled.
"Yeah, I'm ok. Sorry, I seem to be making you worried about me more and more." I spoke looking forward, Happy flew into my arms, I had a feeling he knew I needed someone or something to hug as of recently.
"Yeah, well you seem really down as of recently and you're normally cheerful no matter what. Plus you are looking a little pale." Lucy spoke before raising her hand to feel my forehead.
"Hmm, you feel ok, but really, tell me what's wrong. Please?" Lucy asked, I looked at her and forward and spoke.
"And seriously, I'm fine. If something was wrong, I would say." I said before walking faster to avoid further questions, but I did heard Gray say.
"That certainly didn't seem like nothing. We should speak to the master when we get back."
"Yeah." Lucy agreed. I glared at the floor, I hated that I had to keep it a secret, I felt guilty. I saw Happy looking up at me, his eyes showed how worried he was, I smiled and hugged him tighter.
"Oh?" I then heard Natsu say making us all turn to him.
"What is it?" I asked him, before walking up to him, everyone else follow suit. I looked up to what he was looking at. I froze, dropping Happy, I felt like I couldn't breathe and was stuck where I stood as I looked up at the huge monster that stood before us but was covered from head to toe in ice. Natsu yelled.
"A HUMUNGOUS FROZEN MONSTER!"
"DELIORA!?" Both me and Gray screamed out in fear and shock. Natsu, Lucy and Happy turned to us in surprise but I couldn't hear anything else, I was too frozen to hear them. I soon felt someone shake me but it wasn't working, I then felt arms pick me up but yet, due to me being frozen in a shocked state I couldn't figure out who it was. I tried to take deep breaths and soon I started to hear what my teammates were saying.
"Now what? We should've just caught them and asked questions." Now I was confused but I'm guessing we, along with the villagers weren't alone.
"Not yet. Let's see how this goes." Lucy said, replying to what Natsu said. I stood up from the spot I guessed where they laid me down. I spoke.
"What I want to know is why the Deliora is here?" They turned to me suddenly from hearing my voice.
"Hikari! Are you ok!? What happened?" Lucy asked rushing over to me as she looked me over.
"I'm fine, just really shocked to see Deliora." I spoke, trying to calm my blonde friend.
"How do you know Deliora?" Gray asked me seriously, it looked like he was glaring but it wasn't aimed at me.
"I can't say much but I can say is that I came across him a while back. A few years ago." He nodded but looked at me suspiciously. Probably trying to figure out by I was giving the secrecy.
"It's becoming confusing." Natsu spoke, I looked at him and saw that he now stood next to me.
"I wonder what they are." Happy spoke.
"Who?" I spoke and they all explained to me at these people turned up knowing about Deliora and how they knew we were here somewhere.
"Shit… Why did they bring Deliora here? I mean, how did they find where Deliora was sealed…?" I looked at him, then back up at Deliora before walking towards it. I touched the ice, while thinking to myself, 'Why are you here, Deliora? Why!?'
"Sealed?" Natsu asked.
"It was sealed in an iceberg on the northern continent." I already knew this, but kept quiet knowing full well that it wouldn't help.
"Eh?" Was Lucy's smart reply.
"It's an immortal demon that penetrated the Isbin area 10 years ago…." Gray spoke, I turned back to him and continued listening.
"It's a devil that my master, Ur, sealed at the risk of her life." I saw Natsu, Lucy and Happy's eyes widened in shock. I stayed quiet, I looked down so that my eyes were shadowed out of view.
"I don't know how it's related to this island's curse… But this isn't something that should be here. Reitei… What are you..? I won't let you get away if you're going to disgrace Ur's name!" Gray yelled, glaring up at Deliora.
"You ok Hikari?" Lucy asked again.
"I'm fine." I glared back up at Deliora.
Deliora… Why do I keep getting reminders of…..Him…
