Chapter 14: Black Wind

Callen knew that this morning was hard for Kensi since they were taking the next step to her return at work. She had been part time since their daughter turned six weeks old and now Emma was eight weeks old and going to daycare full time. Callen heard the shower run and knew that Kensi was in there. He walked into the bathroom and sat on the toilet.

"Kensi, she is going to be just fine at daycare." Callen said to his wife as he tried to assure her.

"We don't know that for sure. She has only been there for a few times and now we are leaving her with the babysitter all week. That is a long time for her." Kensi responded to her husband as she finished getting in the shower. Kensi knew that her husband was right about it but she did not want to admit it.

"Why don't I take her to the daycare today to give you a chance to finished getting ready?" Callen asked her.

"Yeah that sounds really good." Kensi told her husband. "Enough thou I want to be the one that drops her off today."

"Sweetie, I just want to make sure that you are on time for work today." Callen responded to her as he gave her a small kiss before leaving the room.

"I don't have a problem about that." Kensi responded to her husband with her smile. "That is really sweet of you. Why don't you go ahead and take her to daycare and I will meet you at work."

"Alright, I will see you there." Callen said to her. "I will bring her in before I leave so that way you can say goodbye to her."

"Alright." Kensi responded to her husband as her phone started to viberate. She looked at the phone and saw that Deeks was messaging her. She decided to wait until she finished getting ready. Callen walked into the room and gave Emma to Kensi.

"You be a good girl and I will see you tonight. I love you baby girl." Kensi told her daughter as she gave her a small kiss.

Callen left and headed to the daycare where the babysitter was happy to greet Callen and Emma with a big smile. Callen handed his daughter to the babysitter and waited for a few minutes. He wanted to make sure that their daughter was okay before he left. He got into the car and headed to work. He heard his phone go off and it was Kensi wanting to see how their daughter was when he dropped her off. He text her and said that their daughter was amazing and she could relax. Callen pulled into the office parking lot and got out of the car to headed into the building where he saw Kensi hanging out with Nell.

"How is it being a working mom now?" Nell asked her friend.

"It is hard but I know that we are making it safer for her and so we need to do this." Kensi revealed to her friend. They talked for a few minutes before they got called upstairs. Callen and Sam were being sent over to Mexico yet again and she was not happy about him going over there.

"I want you to stay here." Kensi told her husband.

"Kensi, I need to go over there. It is a part of our job. I want you and Deeks to follow up leads on this side." Callen revealed to her as he gave her a small smile.

After Callen and Sam got back to the states side, Callen was super excited to be home with their daughter and Kensi. Kensi had went to go get their daughter and bring her back to work since they have a long night ahead of them. Callen was happy to see their daughter and gave her a small kiss. He did not want to tell Kensi about the near murder that the one guy did because he knew that it would worry her and that is the last thing that you want to do. Callen and Kensi spent about an hour with the team and their daughter.

Author's response to the episode: It was really good and I am glad that the whole team is okay. It's really nice to see that Granger is out and about with Kensi and Deeks. I can't believe that they did not do what he told them to do but they helped Callen and Sam out. I can't believe that it was the health inspector. Now we know what the cameras were. I wish that they would let Hetty come out and be with her team. Callen does really good with Sam on making sure that he is safe or that they are both safe.

Author Note: Fanfiction was down for most of Saturday which not good and before I went to bed, it came back up. I can't wait for the "Fast seven" to come out. This past weekend, my family and I went to go see "American sniper" and I can't believe that guy killed him after seeing his wife. I felt really bad for his family.
