Chapter 14 ((Movie Night))
(Max's P.O.V)
Phoebe got me thinking that maybe I spend to much time with Kallie. I mean I don't really agree with her but maybe I am... So if Kallie calls me or texts me today I am going to tell her that we are having a 'family day' or something. No big deal right? I mean one day without her won't kill me. At least I hope it won't.
Plus I need a day to catch up with my super Villain stuff anyway! Me and Colosso are working on a new weapon. Top secret of course!
(Phoebe's P.O.V)
Summer is almost over, that means I have an excuse to start studying for any subject I want and no one can make fun of me for it! Plus it's going to be my junior year of high school, no need to slack on my grades just because i'm an upperclassmen!
I walk over to my book shelf and pull out my Physics text book that I got from the library.
"She was like oh my God! This is my song, I've been listening to the radio all night night long.." My Luke Bryan ringtone goes off
"Agh!" I groan walking to my social life in a box. A.k.a my cell phone
"Hello?"
"Hey Phoebe!"
"Oh hi Emma!"
Emma is new to Hidden Ville. She just moved into Cherry's neighborhood. I met her the day after Cherry slept over last week. She is from California.
"Cherry gave me your number" She laughs
"Oh sweet!" I laugh
"So my parents are letting me use the house for a movie night tonight at 8! Do you want to come?"
Not really... I could make Max come with me though, then he can spend some time away from Kallie! Plus Emma is new in town, I'd feel bad if I said no..
"Ya! Sounds like fun! What movie are we going to watch?"
"Divergent!" She squeaks
"Four..." We both say at the same time then burst out laughing
"So who all is going?" I ask
"Well me, you, Cherry, my brother Jack and his friend Conner, my friend Sophie, and Jason. You can invite people if you want to"
I don't know any of those people other than Cherry..
"Oh so it's okay if Max comes?"
"Yeah! Wait who is Max again?" Emma asks
"Max is my.."
She cuts me off "Okay mom! I know! I'm cleaning!" She must be talking to her mom.. "Sorry Phoebe I got to go clean, my mom really likes the house to be spotless. I guess I will meet your boyfriend Max at the party! See you then bye!" Emma hangs up
Boyfriend? More like brother! I am pretty sure Max doesn't know any of these people either. Well he knows Cherry of course! He doesn't even know he is coming...
I walk to his layer. He is blasting 'Colors Of The Wind' from the Disney movie Pocahontas... What the?
I open his door
"Come roll in all the riches all around you..." Max sings along building something in his hands
"And for once, never wonder what there worth!" I sing walking up to him
"AHHH! PHOEBE!" He throws what ever was in his hands and turns off his Disney music
I try not to laugh but it doesn't work, next thing you know i fall on the floor bursting with laughter!
"Shut up! It's not like you never listen to Disney music!" He tries to defend himself
"Yeah... but i'm a girl! Hahaha it's more normal for me to listen to it!"
"Why did you come down here?" He picks up the random pieces of metal he threw
"Well my new friend Emma invited me to her house to watch Divergent... I know how much you like that movie... want to come?"
(Max's P.O.V)
So there I was minding my own business listening to Disney music... I don't normally I swear! ... Okay on a good day I do but that's all Billy's fault! That's a different story.. ANYWAY! Phoebe has to come and scare the crap out of me! Now she wants me to go to her friends house?! I don't even know this Emma girl! Well I mean it is Divergent..
I scratch the back of my neck "I dunno... Is it just you and her? Cuz if it is..."
"No more people will be there!" She cut me off
"Like who?"
"Jack, Conner, Sophie, Emma, Jason, Cherry, You and me" She smiles
"Who are those people?!"
"I guess we will find out!" She pauses "So your going?"
"..."
"I will take that as a YES! It starts at 8 so be ready!" She runs up stairs
"Aghhh"
She doesn't come back down till 7:50.
Gosh this girl does something to me!
Phoebe comes down wearing long black leggings with a flannel button up shirt wrapped around her waist and a white shirt with black combat boots.
"That's a little to hot for summer, don't ya think?" I smirk
(Phoebe's P.O.V)
"Whatever! Lets go, I don't want to be late"
Was he checking me out? I feel my face heating up.
Max is wearing a grey tank top with black shorts and a blue hat that is on backwords. Of course.
It takes about 10 minuets to get to Emma's house.
I knock on the door.
Emma opens it "Phoebe hi!" She hugs me "So this is your boyfriend Max?"
"Boyfriend?" He smirks
Oh no
"Yeah that's right, I'm her boyfriend" He puts his arm around me
"Nice to meet you!" They shake hands
"Actually..." I start
"Hey Emma, lets start the movie!" Someone shouts from the living room
"Come in! Have a seat!" She smiles "This is my brother Jack.."
Jack is a tall brunette with light brown eyes and tan skin
"Nice to meet you" I smile
"You too Phoebe and Max" He has a very attractive deep voice
"This is Conner..." Emma smiles
Conner is an average size ginger with dark blue eyes and light skin with lots of freckles
"Phoebe, Max" He stuffs chips in his mouth and smiles
"Conner" Max smiles
"This is Sophie..."
Sophie is a short latino girl with gorgeous long black hair
"Nice to meet you!" She hugs me
"You to!" She seems nice
Emma continues "Last but not least, this is Jason."
Jason is pretty tall with dark brown skin and brown eyes
He shakes our hands "So are you two a couple? Or what?"
"Yeah, we are" Max intertwines our hands
"So if you guys get hungry we have snacks in the kitchen." Emma points to the kitchen
"Okay sweet! Is Cherry here yet?" I ask
"Oh she texted and said she wasn't feeling too good so she is going to stay home"
"Aww poor Cherry" Max looks at me
"Lets watch the movie now, shall we?" Sophie puts it in
"Max, come with me to get snacks while its playing previews" I pull him with me to the kitchen
"Boyfriend? Really?!" I drop his hand
"Come on! I don't even know these people! Why does it matter anyway?" He poors Orange soda into a cup
"Hmm well lets see... First you have a GIRLFRIEND ALREADY! And second Emma is my friend! She could come over any day and see you living in our house!"
"Hey you were the one to tell her that we are boyfriend and girlfriend in the first place. And this is like a little prank Kallie has a good sense of humor! She would probably find this hilarious anyway! Plus its not like we are going to kiss or anything!" He drinks his soda
"I didn't tell her we were boyfriend and girlfriend, she just assumed that." I cross my arms "Lets go the movie is starting"
There is only one spot left on the couch.
"You can sit on my lap babe" Max smirks
I try not to groan as I sit on my brothers lap. He wraps his arms around my stomach. I hate to admit it but this feels really good. I lean my head on his shoulder and put my hands on his.
I almost fell asleep on Max, but the movie just ended.
"BEST MOVIE EVER!" Conner claps
"Couldn't agree with you more buddy" Jack starts clapping to
"I think we should keep this party going!" Sophie stands up
"What do you want to do Sophie?" Jason asks
Sophie walks to the Kitchen and grabs a glass coke bottle
Oh no
"How about a little bit of spin the bottle!" She smiles
"Rules?" Emma asks
"What do you mean by rules?" Jack asks as we all form a circle on the floor
"Like is there any rules?" She looks at him
"Yeah there is." Sophie adds "If you spin the bottle and it lands on the same person 2 times then you do 7 minuets in heaven."
"I don't want to kiss guys this time" Jack adds "Last time it gave me nighmares"
Everyone starts laughing
We sit in a small circle, every girl is next to a boy and every boy is next to a girl.
"Emma, it's your house so you should go first" Sophie hands the bottle to Emma
She spins it and it lands on Conner "Ahh man"
"Lets just get this over with" He whines
"I can't watch!" Jack covers his eyes
"Ooooooooo" Everyone cheers
They close there eyes and share a quick kiss
"Okay your turn" Emma hands the bottle to Conner
Conner spins it and it lands on Sophie, they kiss
"Woah" Conner smiles handing the bottle to Sophie
"Don't get any ideas freckles" Sophie spins it and it lands on Max.
"Wait you guys are dateing..." Sophie adds
"Well it's just a quick kiss, right?" Max Says
"So you don't care?" Emma looks at me
"It's just a little kiss" I shrug
They kiss
Everyone looks at me
"What?" I laugh
"Anyway, your turn Max" Sophie hands the bottle to Max obviously feeling bad
He spins it, and it lands on me. It kinda looked like he used his powers for a second there.. Nah he wouldn't! My eyes trail up to his. A little smile peeks on his lips. Okay lets just get this over with. Our foreheads touch. My heart is pounding out of my chest. I wish we were alone. But before I could protest Max fills the gap between our brings back memories of our 16th Birthday. Man have I missed this! His warm lips pressed against mine, how could something so wrong feel so right?
The room fills with whistling and cheering
After what feels like forever we finally pull apart. I look into Max's eyes. Something tells me he liked it to...
"Your turn" Max hands me the bottle
I spin it. Who do you think it landed on? Everyone is going crazy cheering so loud. I'm surprised Emma's mom hasn't come down to yell at us for being to loud!
"Max, Phoebe.." Emma smiles "The closet is down the hall to the left"
"We will get you in 7 minuets!" Sophie smiles
We walk down the hallway to the closet and go inside.
Closing the door Max says "W-we don't have to do this..."
"I know, but... I want to..." I swallow
"Phoebe... Do you remember anything from our 16th Birthday party?"
"Yeah... do you?" I ask
"I remember everything." He responds
He cups my face with his warm hands and slowly kisses me. I wrap my arms around his neck and take his hat off running my fingers through his brown hair. I slowly pull away.
"What about Kallie?"
"I like her, she is nice and all but..." He pauses "She is not you"
I smile and kiss him. This time its not a soft kiss. This kiss is full of passion, demanding for more. Maxs deepens the kiss and pushes me against the wall, picking me up I wrap both my legs around him. At the moment, I could particularly feel my whole body fired up and I was completely stunned that my brother was having such an effect on me.
