I sat at my desk, trying to figure out what to get everyone for Christmas.

" Liesl, Liesl, it's only twenty four days till Christmas. Will he be here soon? When will we get gifts," Gretl said, running into my room.

" On Christmas day you'll get gifts. Now why don't you get everyone and we will write lists," I said. My youngest sister ran out of the room and I stood up. I walked over to the window. I opened it and took a stone from the sill. I aimed and threw it across the hedge. It hit a window and I saw Pippi look through a few minutes later. She opened the window.

" We are writing Christmas lists, come over and bring catalogues," I said.

" We'll be over in a few minutes," she shouted. I nodded and closed the window. Within ten minutes everyone had gathered in my room.

" There are very few things that can make you all move so quickly one are Christmas lists," I said, passing out paper and pencils then sitting on my bed beside Anna. " Right you have thirty minutes then we'll read them out." Everyone quickly got to work.

For Christmas I would like:

The cream dress with the pink sash that I saw in town

More books

And music for my piano

I think that is all I want. Thank you

Liesl vonTrapp.

I read through my list and smiled, I had what I wanted.

" Anyone finished," I asked. Everyone nodded. " Brigitta you start."

" Dear Father Christmas, there is nothing that I want this year except a few books. I've gotten what I asked for. A new mother and for father to be happy. Brigitta vonTrapp." she said.

" You don't want anything else," Rupert said, surprised. Brigitta shook her head.

" Liesl," Father called. I walked into his study slowly. " Do you know what Brigitta wants for Christmas."

" She says she wants nothing. I think she would like a new journal and a few new books. Possibly another bookshelf," I said. " But, I do think it should be special, this is going to be her last year, isn't it?"

" Probably... Maybe tickets to a play, she would like that, wouldn't she?" Father asked.

" She'd like anything. Brigitta's easy to buy for," I said, smiling.
