"Mother...? Your mother?" Sara echoed, eyeing the girl. "Who?"
"Isabelle Minami." The brunette lifted the hem of her dress to reveal a black tattoo covering her entire lower left leg.
It was a sketchy crescent that began at the ankle that continued up to the knee with two Celtic tribal patterned wings spreading from it. It was lethal looking, but Seth and Kaname recognised it as the symbol Isabelle used to claim ownership on beings or to change them from one form to another. You could say it was a family crest that she had created for the people who followed her, all of whom she cared deeply for.
"What's your name?" Kaname asked, searching for Isabelle's aura in the murky forest that surrounded the Shirabuki Manor.
The brunette smiled politely at Kaname, before passing by him and curtseying to Seth and Takuma.
"Fuyuko Isabelle, Lord Kaname. Seth-jiji, Takuma-jiji, it is a pleasure to meet you both at last," she said, bowing her head to both.
"I-I'm only a friend," Takuma said, smiling at her as he offered her a hand to stand properly. "There's no need to bow or call me Uncle."
Fuyuko nodded, planting a small kiss on the ash blonde's hand, before taking Seth's and doing so as well.
"Ofukuro told me you and Seth-jiji were loves, so I decided to call you uncle. I'm sorry," she said, rising fully and bowing apologetically
Takuma's face turned bright red as Seth grinned, wrapping an arm around Takuma's shoulders and pulling him in close.
"You got that right!" he exclaimed, rubbing his cheek against Takuma's.
Fuyuko smiled a bit, her cheeks tinted red slightly, before she turned and faced Kaname.
"Kaname-sama, please return home, if you only. Sofusan, Sobosan, Ethan-jiji, Noah-jiji, Logan-jiji and Cole-jiji will arrive at your mansion shortly, and Ofukuro wishes you to be there to greet them along with your parents. Your family are close friends and Ofukuro wants Sofusan to see how wonderful a man you've become," she requested, bowing to him.
The entire group froze, Fuyuko being the only one not shocked. Her brown eyes travelled from one person to another, watching them all for any reaction.
She smiled as a warm feeling spread through her chest, telling her immediately that her Ofukuro had arrived. She ran from the room, ignoring the questioning calls she got from the group who'd finally stirred from their rouse.
"Ofukuro!" she cried, beaming as she dashed to the blonde who waited for her, smiling with her arms open wide.
Her mother wore a shimmering navy dress that flowed around her ankles and hugged her small figure. Three spaghetti straps held her dress up from each arm, giving it an off shoulder neckline. She wore a black chain with a white gold pendant in the shape of a rose. On her fingers were silver rings, one covering her entire index finger on her right hand, another on her left wedding finger – two adjoined bands, one engraved with a name, the other encrusted with onyxes.
"Hello Fuyu-chan. How have you been my snowflake?" the blue eyed blonde asked, embracing her child and stroking her head.
The girl was much smaller than her, standing at only five two. Fuyuko's dainty arms wound around her Ofukuro's small waist with ease.
Fuyuko smiled and leaned into her Ofukuro's hand as it trailed down to her cheek, stroking her sharp cheekbone with her thumb.
"I'm good, Ofukuro! I missed you so much!" she cried, acting as childishly as she always did when it came to her Ofukuro.
The woman smiled sadly, rocking her child back and forth.
She was innocent, yet to be tainted with the lives of another or by the blood of a sinner. An angel in the eyes of her mother who had given her life, but with only selfish intentions.
"I missed you too,, Fuyu-chan," her blonde Ofukuro whispered, resting her head on the brunette's as the two purebloods and the aristocrat strolled in, staring at the blue-eyed woman wide eyed.
Both mother and daughter pulled away, eyes fixated on the only dark haired person in the group.
"Kaname," the brunette's mother said, her voice pleading as her eyes flickered to the oblivious little girl on her right.
"Isabelle," he replied, placing a hand on her shoulder as he stepped closer.
She did the same to him, her hand running up his neck to his cheek. He leaned into her touch and mirrored her actions.
She frowned, her eyebrows furrowed.
"Please, Kaname. Otousan wishes to see you again. As does Okaasan, Cole-otouto, Noah-otouto, Ethan-otouto and Logan-otouto. They all wish to see you. If you stay, you might disappoint them," she pleaded, her eyes watering as she stepped closer to him, smiling a small bit.
"I won't leave," Kaname said, his voice firm.
"Now, now, you wouldn't want to upset your fiancée's family, would you?" she giggled, tears of happiness and sadness rolling down her cheeks.
Kaname smiled, pulling her to him and embracing her tightly, burying his head in her neck. She wrapped her arms around his torso, her fingers digging into his back. Her shoulders began to shake though no sob left her libs. Silent tears dampened her love's black shirt.
"I wouldn't, but today I must if I am to keep my fiancée safe," he mumbled, his words muffled by her silky waves as he inhaled her sweet scent.
She pushed him away, running a hand through her hair. She smiled at him, taking one of his pale hands and planting a soft kiss on the palm.
"Leave, Kaname. I'll be fine," she insisted, "I'll meet you at the house when I'm done."
Kaname placed his free hand on her cheek, stroking it gently. "I fear what you'll do on your own."
Isabelle scowled, dropping Kaname's hand and taking a sharp step back.
"You don't trust me," she said, her voice low and dangerous
Kaname's burgundy eyes widened slightly. He took as step forward reaching out for her again.
"You know I do, Isabelle," he started, feeling weak at the expression his love wore.
Isabelle felt like crying at how heartbroken Kaname looked. She wanted to take back what she said, to hug him and tell him she knew he trusted her- but she couldn't. She needed him to leave, for his safety, and for her parents.
They would be frail and delicate, vulnerable to the rest of the vampire race after being away for so long. The lust people had for pure blood now a days was outrageous compared to that decades ago.
She swatted his hand away, turning her back on him.
"Leave Kuran-san!" she barked, "Leave or you should get lost in oblivion also!"
Feeling her heart shatter, she strutted out of the room, her heels clacking against the laminate wood floors.
Using the jumbled emotions as fuel, she burst into the parlour, where Sara Shirabuki stood, along with Seth, Takuma and Fuyuko, who had moved back inside to the parlour to give the other two privacy.
She smirked coyly, tossing aside any emotions that would interfere with her burning rage at the moment.
"Hello, dear Sara," she greeted, her voice devious.
She refused to even glance at her brother or Takuma. They would only be nuisances she told herself.
"Hello, Isabelle," Sara replied, her voice kind though her eyes said otherwise. "What a pleasant surprise."
Isabelle curtsied to Sara, out of mockery more than respect. Sara twitched in acrimony, fury bubbling and boiling beneath her fair skin.
She narrowed her eyes at the fellow blonde pureblood. It had been a while since she had been made fun of- by someone other than Seth of course, but she never did take much notice of him.
"And how are your parents, Sara-chan? I believe it has been a while since I last saw them," Isabelle taunted, knowing Sara's parents were long dead- Sara's fear of becoming suicidal had been with her even in her first centuries, born from the tragic loss of her parents who had felt no longing to live even after their beloved princess was born.
Sara's expression darkened.
An invisible force whipped throughout the room, splintering furniture, tearing up carpets, obliterating china cups and priceless paintings, and forcing poor Takuma and Fuyuko to their knees in front of her.
Seth growled, appearing behind Takuma and lifting the forest-green eyed blonde up, clutching him tightly.
"Don't play around," Isabelle said dryly, offering her daughter a hand up. "It's a nag."
Fuyuko smiled gratefully at her mother, wrapping her arms around Isabelle's torso. She glared over her shoulder at the dark-blue eyed blonde that was staring agape.
"I was here to help," Seth snarled, his eyes flashing crimson, "And you broke another law between purebloods just because you were having a bit of a tantrum- again."
Sara stepped forward, her heels scraping against the bare flooring.
"I dare you to lay a finger on me," she gnarled, sending a wave of air at him, sending both him and Takuma crashing into the wall.
Seth released Takuma- after setting him on the floor and making sure he wasn't hurt- before bounding towards Sara.
She shot a thousand tiny wooden splinters at him, making him fall to his knees, grunting in pain as they dug into his flesh.
Fuyuko grimaced and buried her head into her mother's chest. Isabelle's hand stroked small circles on her back. Fuyuko could feel the rage burning in her mother's chest.
Sara wouldn't be alive much longer.
"Seth!" Takuma cried, racing to the male pureblood's side and trying to and not to touch him.
Sara glowered at Takuma, the walls crumbling around them all.
The windows shattered, the shards being poised at Takuma. They darted at Takuma, most aiming for his head.
He was completely unaware.
Isabelle let out a sneer. The shards fell to the ground, moulding together. The splinters were torn from Seth's skin, hovering in the air.
Sara watch in annoyance as Isabelle ceased her attack, creating something with the shards. Sara kept her senses sharp, but decided to continue torturing Seth instead. She seperated all the matter in the room, using her hands to direct them about the room, poised at Takuma and Seth.
A dagger made of diamond pierced Sara's head, her heart being ripped from her chest at the same time. Tiny wooden pins rained on Sara's body, twisting like drills as they sunk in.
Sara fell to her knees, her eyes wide, her jaw slack. Blood trickled from Sara's mouth, running down her forehead as well.
Isabelle stood in front of her, her arms around Fuyuko- who was too petrified of her mother's wrath and the gory scene to look. Isabelle's hair started billowing behind her. Her eyes sparkled a radiant sapphire as she held Sara's heart in her hand.
"An eye for an eye," she said calmly as Sara's body collapsed into a heap of ash.
