Chapter 14: Lost Communications

.

A young girl rested quietly in her large bed. She felt extremely hot, but was too weak to push the many coverings off of her. Instead, she lied completely still; with naught but a frown to reveal her distress. She could also feel that she was not alone. Her mother was there. Lately though, her mother was never far. Also, there was a much deeper voice. It was not her father's. Nor was it that of her grandfather's; for he was far away in another chamber upon his own sick bed, ailing. Oh how she wished to be at his side in his time of need. But alas, she was here; not feeling much better than he. 'What was wrong with her?' She wondered. However, instead of pondering her question, the conversation happening before her, grabbed her attention.

"There is a slight fever, but that should pass." The panther skinned kyyan spoke in all seriousness. "I believe that the essence of Kyyantamori is taking ahold of her."

Illyra narrowed her eyes. "Now? The convergence should not happen for another five year, at least." She argued. "That just cannot be Abreu."

The healer began packing away his tools as he continued. "Yes, the princess has only just entered into her eighth year, but we need to also take into account her reading levels at birth." He reminded her.

"They were completely unheard of…. Still, such a transition at this age…" Illyra murmured, and then her eyes widened. "Will this affect her cognitive skills?" The doctor looked at her questioningly. "It's just that… she has been exhibiting rather strange behavior, as of late. It is as though she is not the same spirited child as before. I'm concerned that this transition is changing her individuality." She continued.

"Hmm… has she now?" He asked, thinking on the matter. "The more of the goddess's essence that she receives, the closer to Kyyantamori herself she becomes. Judging by the fact that not only was she born with a remarkable level of energy, but also her merge with the goddess is the earliest to date…" He looked Illyra in the eye. "What we have here, your highness is a prodigy." He told her. "At her peak, she will be very near… perfection."

"We were only meant to personify Kyyantamori, not become her." Illyra stated, very troubled by this. "Can her body sustain such power?" She asked fearfully, grasping onto Tauviana's small hand.

"Lay your fears to rest, your majesty; all will be well. With Kyyantamori, all things have a reason." Abreu reassured her. "Aside from the happenings of the young princess, how do you fair? What is the status of the goddess's essence from within you?" He asked, curious.

"Since her birth, it has been weakening over time. However now," She told him, eyes never moving from her daughter. "I sense it completely fading. Soon it will be gone."

He nodded his head in understanding. "Then soon, the new Tri will rise."

~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ Kynthia, Capital of Kyya, Resident city of the Royal Palace ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~
.
Di Felidae Illyra walked the palace's grand halls in a brisk, but unhurried pace. Her mate, the Haplo, was currently meeting with his Counsel. Usually, she chose to attend those sessions; however, today she decided to sit this one out. She elected instead to visit with an old friend; one of the noblemen's wives, the Lady Amaran. The halls were practically empty; save for the various soldiers standing guard. Still, she was hardly alone. The soft footfalls of her ladies-in-waiting echoed behind her; as they dutifully followed after. Though at times, they were great company; today however, they were nothing but a nuisance.
They came to an abrupt stop at the large set of double doors; which led to the halls of the House of Feryn. She turned to the six women accompanying her. "Ladies I'm afraid that I cannot allow you to follow any further. However, I do not wish to ask you to remain here, for I do not know how long I will be." She explained kindly. "In light of the situation, I feel it appropriate to give you the rest of the day." She smiled at their startled looks.
"The rest of the day, your highness?" Asked the kyyan nearest her; such a thing was unheard of.
Keeping her smile firmly in place, Illyra answered, "Yes Niobe, you are free to do whatever you wish." She gestured for the standing guards to open the massive doors for her. "Now, I really must take my leave." She said, before turning away from them and slipping past the double doors. A few steps down the hall, she heard the doors close shut behind her. She could feel her face morph into a frown as she continued on her way.
Several quick steps later, she found herself at a guarded door. The kyyan guard upon noticing her immediately fell down to one knee. "Your majesty." He greeted, before continuing, "Lord Atreus is not here."
"Yes, I am well aware. Rise." Illyra commanded. Once he was on his face, she continued, "I have come to see the Lady of Feryn."
This stunned the guard. The Lady of Feryn rarely received any visitors; let alone someone as highly in stature as royalty. "Yes, my apologies, my Queen." He rushed out, opening the door for her to enter. He made to enter with her, so that he might announce her arrival, but the queen held up a hand to stop him. She dismissed him, walking further into the suite, hearing the door close shut from behind her.
.
Queen Illyra entered the quiet, seemingly empty suite. If she didn't know any better, she'd say that no one was here. But she did know better. Her eyes zeroed in on the distant draperies; which were flowing from a gentle breeze of the morning wind, indicating that the bay doors were opened. She could also sense the presence of another being standing just outside the threshold. Moving briskly past the extravagant furnishings, she made her way to the lone ki signature outside.
.
A tall mature woman stood quietly, looking over the expanse of land in the distance. The wind danced around and through her long dark spikey locks, whilst the warm rays of Kyya's star caressed her already slightly star-kissed skin. She leaned further onto the rail on the veranda, seemingly distressed over something. The wind dropped just as her shoulders stiffened. She was not alone.
"Such a peaceful morning." Illyra voiced, her attention drifting back down to the woman standing before her, facing away from her. "Would you not agree, Lady Amaran?"
The older woman turned around to face her unannounced visitor, only to pause in shock. Her dark eyes widened upon the realization that she was now in the presence of the queen. She immediately bowed her head, "Yes I would, Di Felidae." She returned her gaze to the queen without waiting for permission. "It has been a long time."
Illyra eyed the woman standing before her carefully, "Too long." She agreed, before stepping further out onto the balcony. She looked over the view once more, before getting to business. "We've lost all communications with Squad One."
Amaran nodded her head once, before also turning to admire the landscape. "I'm sure the princess is well, your highness. She will find a way to contact you, long before her infusion is depleted. Of this I am sure." She told her comfortingly.
Illyra nodded her head. "Yes, but Tauviana is not the reason that I am here. None of this has been a coincidence. The Renois know that the Tri Felidae is not in Kyyan space. I fear they may be plotting something."
"And what do your visions say?" Amaran questioned, before remembering herself. "Apologies my queen, I did not mean to intrude so-"
Illyra smiled at her. "It is quite alright." And then her smile fell. "I'm afraid my visions are of no use in this particular situation. I've been seeing the same thing over and over. All I can tell you is that it involves both of our progeny." She said in all seriousness.
Amaran's eyes widened. "Celeria?"
The Di Felidae looked into the Lady of Feryn's eyes. She knew that she was saying too much, that if her mate found out about this conversation, he would not be pleased. Still, if she were in this woman's shoes, she'd wish to know the truth. Making a decision, Illyra answered, "No… not Celeria."
Amaran's face was a mirror of confusion for a split second, before it grew into open shock. "No…" She breathed out, a hand pressed to her chest.
The queen looked at the older woman with a rueful expression. "Yes Amaran… he lives."
.
~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ Incursion Squad, Planet Freitas ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~

.

"This is getting ridiculous. We're an incursion squad, not the cleanup crew." Growled the dark skinned member of the group as a sudden breeze blew his waist-length crinkled dark hair into his face. His dark grey eyes narrowed in annoyance. "This is so degrading."

"What's the matter Lea? Too much real work for you?" Asked the largest member of the group, with a smirk on his tanned face. The wind blew around him, but his short spiked honey-brown hair was barely disturbed.

"What did you say Phaon?" Lea asked incensed, stepping up to the taller kyyan, his tail flailing behind him. He began flexing his lean muscles and drew his weapon: a long sleek sword.

The bulkier kyyan only laughed, not bothering to draw his weapon. "You heard me." Phaon said, his brown eyes sparkling in amusement; his own tail flowing behind him rather calmly.

The only female of the group, paused from her work to address the two. "Come on you two; let us finish this mission so that we may rendezvous with the Tri." She insisted, shouting through the harsh wind as it picked up. Luckily for her, her dark hair was pulled back in a long braid, so it did not get in her way like it did with her teammate.

"No one's talking to you, haafu." Phaon growled at her hatefully; mood suddenly changing. The young girl's silver-grey eyes widened at the term. She said nothing more, only turned away to complete her task. Her usually tanned face now paled in the light of day.

"Phaon, that's enough!" The fourth and final member of the group shouted. "Get back to work: you too Lea. I don't want to hear another complaint." He barked out before turning to their youngest member, his high auburn ponytail whipping around in the process. Walking up to her, he laid a hand on her shoulder. "Are you alright Celeria?" He asked in concern.

"It is nothing." Celeria shrugged him off. "I need not your pity Kaisa." She remarked angrily turning away from him. Though clearly upset, her tail, unlike her comrades, remained secured, wound tightly around her waist.

Kaisa's jade eyes narrowed at her attitude. "Good," He responded, "Because I have no intention of giving you any." He grabbed her arm and dragged her away from the other two. Once they were a good distance away, he pulled her in to face him.

"What's the idea Kaisa?" She growled at him.

He tried his best to mask his annoyance. "Listen girl, you will watch your tone with me. With the Tri absent, I'm the authority on this squad." His eyes then took on a softer gaze. "I know that this situation is not… ideal; being dumped onto a team, in a position that has been left vacant for nearly three years."

"Thank you, I feel so much better now." She barked sarcastically.

Kaisa, choosing to ignore her remark, simply looked at her as the wind picked up once more. He glanced off into the distance; it was getting pretty bad. He focused his attention back on the young girl before him. "Don't worry about Phaon. He hasn't been the same since Taeus's dea-"

"Can we not mention my brother?" She huffed out, not liking where the conversation was headed.

He nodded his head. "Fair enough." He said, before his features grew pensive. "Still, he shouldn't have called you that." She tensed at his words. Deciding it best not to push further, he changed the subject. "It is strange." He stated, looking back to the others.

Celeria followed his gaze. She could see their other teammates, arguing once more in the distance. "What is?"

"Having us detour to this planet." Kaisa answered. "We're just sitting here waiting for what, orders?" He asked rhetorically. "We had orders. Incursion orders, and now… we're just sitting…"

She nodded her head. The weather was getting worse. "The climate is becoming unstable. Orders or no, we can't stay here much longer."

"No, I guess not." He remarked, "Let's finish this up and get out of here."

She nodded her head at that. "I'll break down the gear."

"No, leave that to Lea and Phaon. Go make sure the specimens are intact and package them away." Kaisa ordered. He watched her walk away, before turning on the comm-link on his right ear. "Kaisa to Omnexys."

Static…

"Kaisa to Omnexys… come in…"

Static…

Kaisa's eyes narrowed. "Omnexys this is…" Here he paused as the winds really picked up. He continued with a raised voice. "This is Squad One! … The conditions on Freitas have worsened! … I don't know if you can read me, but… we will rendezvous with the Tri ahead of schedule…." He headed towards his comrades. "Kaisa out." He said, disconnecting the link. "Alright everyone, let's get out of here!" He shouted, before assisting with the equipment.

"What's our status Ixion?" Asked the pale Kyyan, from his spot on the commander seat.

The large older kyyan on his right turned to face him. "We're approximately 1.932 light years away." Ixion answered, not removing his eyes from his console.

The commander nodded his head. "Stay the course." He instructed, and then looked at the female soldier to his right. "Connect me to the Haplo." He commanded her.

She was inputting commands into the mainframe, before turning to face him. "Lord Nevyn, we've lost communications with Kyya." She told him with a frown on her face.

Nevyn grimaced. "I see. Try a connection with our nearest space station."

She did as commanded. However, with a shake of her head, it was clear she was unsuccessful. "No sir, there has been no response. I've even tried connecting with a perimeter ship, the Omnexys… and nothing."

His violet eyes narrowed at that. "So all communications are down..." He thought on that before continuing, "Carya? Is there a frequency jam that you can determine?"

"None sir." She answered, just as perplexed. "Perhaps we are too far from Kyyan space." Carya suggested.

Nevyn shook his head. "No. Somehow, our signal is being jammed. Try a connection with the Tri. Her personal comm frequency." He watched as Carya attempted a connection, only to receive the same results. "If our distance from Kyya were affecting our signal, we should still have no problem connecting with the Tri considering she is not too far from here." He explained.

"Sir?" Ixion began, "Could it be the work of the Renois?" He asked fearfully.

Nevyn clinched his fist as Carya also turned her attention towards him for a response. "If so, then they are preparing for something." His face morphed into a scowl. "No matter, we'll continue on our way to meet with the Tri. We'll regroup with her squad from there." He looked directly at Ixion. "Accelerate hyperspace by four." He said, leaning back into his seat. He watched the stars blur out of sight as their speed increased. His amethyst eyes lit as he thought of the Renois. 'It looks like we'll have no choice but war.' His mind then went to his betrothed. 'I sure hope you've found your solution, because time's just run out.'

A light breeze blew into the room from the open balcony door. With it, came a lone leaf, flitting around the room, coming to a rest on the open palm of the sole occupant. However, it was not enough to distract the young woman deep in meditation. Tauviana floated in the middle of her sitting room cross-legged, palms up, and eyes closed. The calming sounds of the man-made water fountain she had installed after the removal of the entertainment center, was meant to fill her with tranquility. Yet the beads of sweat forming against her brow told otherwise.

Flashback

The doors to the healing chamber were blown open. "What is the meaning of this?" Asked a seriously irate ten year old Tri Felidae.

"Tauviana, please come join us for a moment." The queen said from her place beside a med bed, looking over at her daughter.

Tauviana raised a brow. "Why Mother? This is interrupting my training."

"Tri Felidae, please. This will take but a moment." Began the only other occupant in the room, "And this will only aid you in your training." He finished.

Tauviana looked at him distrustfully. "I do not wish to partake in anymore tests." She told him with a growl.

"Tauviana, Healer Abreu must monitor your progress; you know this." Illyra reminded, and then her voice turned stern. "You have been over exerting yourself. The strength you wield is unstable when you've reached your limits."

"Hence! The reason for my training." The princess smarted.

Illyra narrowed her eyes at her stubborn child. "Healer Abreu has created a solution to help you control it."

Tauviana looked over at the healer in offense. "Do you think me so weak?" She asked, affronted. "I am perfectly capable of controlling my power."

"Your majesty, if you will…" Abreu started, looking towards Tauviana earnestly. "The goddess's essence from within you exponentially grows at a rate far more rapid than you can harness." He paused, and when he was not interrupted he continued. "From our prior tests and gauging your growth over the past couple of years, I've concluded that you will reach instability levels just shy of your mating age." He opened a case he had on the table, and pulled out a vial full of blue liquid. "Considering it is illogical to have you mate before your eighteenth centennial; it would be prudent to find a more expedient route. This is why I've generated this treatment."

The young kyyan eyed the blue vial. She took a few steps further into the room; she glanced at her mother, then back to the vial. "What does it do?" She asked tentatively.

Illyra grabbed the vial from the healer and walked up to her daughter. "This, my love, will suppress any overflowing ki threatening the physical condition of your body." She told her with a smile, holding the vial out to her.

Tauviana took it looking it over. "All I do is take this… and the pain stops?" She asked, disbelieving.

Here, Abreu jumped back into the conversation. "Yes that, and doubling up on your meditation. This liquid will only suppress the physicality of the essence. You will need to suppress the mental." He told her.

Tauviana nodded her head, staring at the glass encased blue liquid in her hand. "And should I ever be without this during an overflowing of ki?"

"There is no way to tell. But," Abreu looked away from her eyes and down to the vial in her hand. "I fear your majesty, that it could destroy you."

End flashback.

Tauviana's hand clenched in frustration and crushed the green leaf to dust. She let out a groan, opening her eyes in the process. It was useless. She had been here for one full Earth week, and she was no closer to getting the answers that she was looking for than she had been when she had first arrived. Furthermore, the time and distance away from her home had been having a troubling effect on her meditation.

Uncrossing her legs, she moved towards a cabinet in the far corner of the room. The cabinet was not familiar to the room; no it was a de-octulized chamber she had brought from her ship. Pulling open a compartment, she reached inside and pulled out a piece of kyyan cloth and proceeded to unwrap it. Taking out the vial from within the cloth, she raised it to eye level; looking over its contents. This was her last vial; having used the other one only two days prior. "The permanence of the effects is beginning to wane." She voiced out loud, reaching further into the compartment to retrieve the mini gun. She placed the vial into the gun and placed the tip against her neck. Pulling the trigger, the blue liquid disappeared into her flesh.

Tauviana dropped the gun, grabbing onto the wall to steady herself. She could feel her incisors extending, and her nails sharpening. She began growling as the fluid made its way through her system, clawing into the wall in the process. Each day she was here, her instincts were becoming sharper and her more feral side was fighting to come out. However, no matter what, she will not let it destroy her. No matter what the healer said.

Her flesh was hot. She could feel the heat radiating off of her. It was almost as if that last vial simply had no effect on her; like she was already too far gone. Tauviana shook her head and exited the room in search of her lavatory. She needed to cool down and fast. If her shower did not work, she would jump into that ridiculously small pond out back. "I will not let this control me." She insisted, as she disappeared into the bathroom.

.

OOOOOOOOOOOO

.

Bulma was working diligently in her lab. She was finishing the last bit of the research the royal brat assigned. She was so enthralled in her work that she had not notice someone walking into the room until they laid a hand on her shoulder. Jumping out of her chair, she let out a shrill scream. "Aah!"

"Mom!" Future Trunks shouted in alarm. He grabbed her shoulders and righted her before she could fall. "Are you okay?"

Bulma shook her head to shake off the nerves. She grinned up at him. "I'm fine, you just startled me a bit."

"Oh, sorry." He told her sheepish.

She only chuckled and waved it off. "Don't worry about. It's my fault really. I've been so immersed in all of this." She told him gesturing towards the computer screen and paperwork hiding her desk. "I really should be better aware of my surroundings."

He nodded his head in agreement as he eyed the pile of work before her. "When's the last time you got some sleep?" He asked worried.

"Sleep? I didn't know that was allowed." She joked. But he wasn't laughing. "I'm fine Trunks. You know how I am when I'm engrossed in a project." She tried to reassure, but her eyes had dark circles around them. However, before he could protest, she continued. "Did you need something honey?"

He slowly shook his head. "No, not really, I just wanted to check on you." He looked over some of her reports. "Does she still have you categorizing the natural resources?" He asked a little surprised that she'd still be working on this. "I thought you'd been done by now."

Bulma nodded her head. "Yeah… technically, I am." He looked at her quizzically. "Everything has been categorized and cross referenced with the alien list." She explained.

"Then why are you still at this?" He asked confused.

Bulma shrugged her shoulders. "I'm intrigued. When I first started on this project, I thought it was busy work to keep me out of the way or something. Once the categorizing was finished and I began cross referencing, I started to find incongruities." Her face became perplexed. "Many of the Kyyan elements are incompatible with our elements. Yet, many of them have the same compound as a whole."

Trunks was flabbergasted. "You mean like the same components that make up a… let's say tree here, also make up a kyyan tree on Kyya; and yet, they are different. How is that possible?" He asked.

"Well, if my readings are correct, given my limited knowledge of all things Kyyan; the similar resources on Kyya have one distinct ingredient that is in essence all Kyyan. It cannot be duplicated." She told him, and then began smiling brightly.

He noticed her wide grin. "And that's a good thing?" He asked hesitantly.

She laughed out right. "It's a great thing. Earth is useless to them. A world full of useless natural resources; I'd say that'd qualify us as a planet of disinterest." Bulma finished, quite proud.

Trunks nodded his head, but he was not has chipper. "Earth is still housing Saiyans." He reminded her.

Bulma's smile fell. "Yeah, there is that."

"Still, if those are the results, why are you still working on this?" He questioned.

"Haven't you noticed our houseguest lately?" She asked him.

Trunks tensed at the question. It's true that he's been keeping an eye on the young princess. She was after all, still a threat to them all. "Yeah what about her?"

"She seems rather… malnourished." Bulma commented. "Maybe you hadn't noticed. But trust me, these are things mothers just know; and that young lady is undernourished."

"She insists on intruding in our family dinners Mother. We've all seen her eat." He argued, not understanding where his mother was going with all of this.

Bulma nodded her head. "Yes, you're right. But she's been eating our food. It's not sustaining her. She may as well be eating nothing." She pointed out. "Taking into account my research, our nutrients are missing a detrimental Kyyan component."

What she said made sense. However, Trunks didn't like the sound of it. "Then why does she keep eating the food?" He asked out loud, before the answer popped into his head. "She doesn't know." He said in realization.

Bulma nodded her head in affirmation. "The food's mass fools her body into thinking that it is full, but that won't last for long. She'll realize soon enough."

"Why haven't you told her?" Trunks asked accusatorily. He was shocked at his mother's behavior. As much as they disliked the princess, knowingly allowing someone to starve was just…

"Don't look at me like that Trunks!" Bulma yelled at her son. "I'm not letting the girl starve. Her physiology is superior to Human and Saiyan standards alike. She'll be fine."

He nodded his head acknowledging her words. He looked over her work once again. She keeps telling him about the things that she's figured out; then why was she still working on this. He eyed suspiciously, "What are you looking for?"

Bulma shook her head. "It's not what am I looking for, but what is she? This has all been a cover. She's distracting us Trunks." She looked at the young man. "I know you've been staying close to her, keeping an eye on her and all. But," Here she paused. She really didn't like the idea of him being involved in any of this, but what choice did they really have. "Maybe you could get a little closer. Befriend her, show her around; get her guard down Trunks and find out what she really wants." She turned back to her monitor. "In the meantime, I'm going further scrutinize this. These ingredients are not random. They must be used for something, and I want to know what that something is." She finished, diving into her work once more.

Trunks watched his mother for a while longer, before turning and walking out of the lab. He did not like what all of this was doing to her. His eyes narrowed as he thought about what she said: This has all been a cover. She's distracting us… Tauviana was already a mystery to him; but he thought she was at least straight forward in dealing with them. If she's got some other agenda, he needed to figure it out before it blew up in all of their faces.

.

OOOOOOOOOOOO

.

Tauviana walked around capsule corp. aimlessly. After her cold shower, she felt a whole lot better; not one hundred percent, but getting there. Entering into one hallway after another, she finally stopped in front of a large window. But that's not what gained her focus; it was the framed photo beside it. She had passed by this portrait numerous times since she has been at this compound; however, for some reason today, it gained her attention. It was a photograph of Bulma, the two Trunks and a frowning Vegeta. Her gaze turned pensive as she stared at the frowning depiction of the Saiyan prince.

Flashback

A five year old Tauviana finds herself stooped low between two pillars, peering down onto the terrace below. Here she could spy on her father escorting the creature her 'Da' earlier referred to as 'Cold' to a Kyyan spacecraft. He looked furious. Suddenly, she tensed. She was not alone. Slowly turning around, she came knee to face to the Tri Felidae Illyra, her mother. "Oh… hello Mother." She greeted serenely, rising to her feet.

Illyra smiled down at her. "What are you doing out here little one?" She asked, knowing that her daughter was up to nothing but mischief.

Tauviana glances back down to the others before answering. "Watching Father. Who is that with him? He looks… strange…."

Illyra stared after King Cold distastefully. "Do not concern yourself with that creature. It is not of our kind." She said with a slight snarl.

Tauviana was confused. "Why is he here?"

Illyra's face grew haunted, before she blinked it away. She looked down at her daughter. "Well aren't you a curious one." She then held out her hand. "Come. Let us partake in confections." She suggested and smiled when her daughter's entire face brightened.

Tauviana grabbed her mother's hand, beaming at her the entire way. She loved sweets.

End flashback.

.

"What are you doing?" Asked a gruff voice that pulled Tauviana out of her reverie.

She simply continued to look at the photo, before speaking. "King Cold and his son fell at the hands of a Super Saiyan. At least that is the rumor currently circling the galaxies." She said with a smirk, before turning to the newcomer. "I'm curious Vegeta; exactly which one of you was it?" She asked.

Vegeta didn't see the point of the conversation. "I don't have time for this." He tells her, walking past her.

"Hmm… must not have been you then." She quipped. Vegeta froze in his step. "I'm sure you'd only love to boast such a feat. So I guess that leaves it to either the other full blooded Saiyan, or one of the haafu brats." She said grinning as his shoulders tensed at the term.

Angrily, he turned around to face her. "Why does it matter?" He growled.

"I guess it doesn't, not really." She answered with a smile. "I don't care about the who, more of the how."

Vegeta smirked at her. "A lot of exercise and a balanced diet." He retorted with a smirk, before stalking away.

She just watched him go, huffing in annoyance. 'How did they overcome the Icejins?' She thought to herself. "Perhaps I should go ask the fool." She mumbled thinking of the taller Saiyan from earlier. She then turned to rush back to her suite, only to run straight into a solid form. The unexpected impact startled her as she started to fall backwards; however, before she could lose her footing, a strong arm wrapped its way around her waist. Her hand immediately grabbed onto the hand before looking up where gold met azure.

"Where are you off to in such a hurry?" Trunks asked with suspicion in his voice; his mind still reeling from what he had just learned from his mother.

Tauviana glared at him. "That's your business, how?"

A lavender brow rose questioningly, "As a guest in my home, everything about you is my business." He countered.

"Everything?" She asked, noticing that he had not removed his arm. Instead of pushing him away, she closed the gap, crushing herself against him. She grinned as his face reddened. "You plan on releasing me anytime soon?" She questioned.

Once it had dawned on him that he was still holding her, he let go as though burned. "I, uh…"

"Don't worry about it." She said, brushing her silver white garment. He looked her over. She was stunning. Luckily for him, her outfit today fully covered her. Though, it was still form fitting. She wore a white sleeveless turtle-neck with silver designs etched into it. The same designs were on her white capris, with slight variations of blue. Her feet, as always, remained bare except for the dainty pieces of jewelry adorning them. "See something you like?" She asked him.

Trunks's face deepened to maroon as he returned his gaze to hers. "You're dressed rather conservatively today." He remarked, hoping to unsettle her. It didn't work.

"Conservatively?" Tauviana gave a slight laugh. "Has my state of undress been making you… uncomfortable?" She commented with a smile, her tail reaching out to brush against his side. "This world is indeed a strange one. Your people are so uncomfortable with the naked form, that you have completely sexualized it beyond what it should be." She told him. Over the past week, she's noticed his stares, but chose not to engage. Now however, her interest was piqued. "The body is simply a system, a machine to warriors like us Kyyans, and yes even Saiyans. We only concern ourselves with how the body works and what will optimize its performance, as far as longevity." She told him, before stepping up to him again. She laid her palm down onto his shoulder. She could feel it flexing from beneath her fingertips. "The body only becomes sexualized when one has found a possible mate."

Trunks stood there, clenching his fists. He knew that he should stop whatever it was that she was doing, but he'd be lying if he said that he wasn't curious as to where this was leading. "Your point?" He asked, his voice slightly deepened.

Her hand slid down to rest over his chest, while her tail encircled his waist. "You're half Saiyan." She told him matter-of-factly. "I think your instincts are beginning to kick in." Her hand then glided up to caress his neck. "Unfortunately for you," She began, "I'm way out of your league!" She snarled, pushing him into the wall, gripping his neck tightly.

Trunks's face took on a wild look as he spun her around so that her back was against the wall. He was gripping her waist roughly with one hand while using his other to loosen hers from his neck. His feral eyes were nearly aglow. In this moment, he looked most like his father. In this moment, he was… Saiyan. He pressed himself into her, caging her further against the wall. "If I've been watching you, it's because I don't trust you. You walk around here like you're untouchable. And maybe you are." Here he chuckled. "But if you think for one second that I would even consider you a possible mate. You're seriously deranged. In fact," He let out a growl before bringing his lips to her slightly pointed ear, "you rather disgust me."

Tauviana's eyes widened in shock at his audacity. With a small burst of ki, she pushed him into the wall opposite her. "How dare you?"

"What? You can dish it out, but you can't take it?" He asked her humorlessly, as he pulled himself together. "I'm not interested in any of your games." He said dusting himself off. "What I am interested in is you getting the hell out of my home and off of my planet; but doesn't look like that's happening anytime soon." He smarted.

Tauviana just looked at him astonished. The way he spoke to her; as if no concern for his wellbeing. She simply glared at him, saying nothing.

"What's the matter Princess; too much truth in one day for you?" Trunks asked harshly. He realized that he was pretty much doing the exact opposite of what his mother had asked of him, but really, the girl knew how to get under his skin.

She couldn't take it anymore. Composing herself, she found her voice. "Me? I'm not the one behaving strangely here." Her glare intensified. "Since when have you grown a backbone?"

His cerulean eyes flashed. "Am I supposed to be happy that my grandparents are banished to their wing of the compound; that my mother has been burning herself out working day and night for you; or how my prideful father who fears nothing and no one seems to tread lightly whenever in your presence, even with you always trying to put him down?" Trunks shouted. "My family is turned upside down, because of you, you cold uncaring frigid bitch!"

Tauviana chose to let the insult roll off of her. "You forgot to mention your small duplicate." She reminded softly.

Trunks let out a soft scathing chuckle. "For some reason, he seems to like you." He told her.

She smirked. "He has great tastes."

"Debatable." He quipped. He then looked at her; really looked at her. She confused him. "What is your endgame?" He asked.

"Pardon?" She inquired, startled by the turn of conversation.

"The work you have my mother doing is… tedious at best." He told her with narrowed eyes. "Are you trying to distract us from your true agenda?" He accused, not wanting to beat around the bush.

"I have no other agenda." Tauviana answered, straightening her garb.

Trunks stared disbelieving at her before moving to turn away. "I'm not interested in your lies." He mumbled out.

Tauviana watched as he calmly walked away. But for some reason, she didn't want him to go. Taking a few steps to follow him, she called out, "Who killed the Icejins?"

He halted in his steps. "What?" He asked, without turning around. 'Why would she want to know that?' He wondered.

"King Cold and his son," She clarified, coming up behind him. She paused, once she was an arm's length away. "Who killed them?"

"Why does it matter?" He asked her, turning around to face her. When he saw that he would not get an answer, he simply sighed already tired of the conversation. "I did." He answered her; no nonsense written all over his face.

Tauviana was slightly surprised by this admission. He was after all, only half Saiyan. It was still hard for her to believe that a full blooded one defeated the Icejins, but a half blood. "How?" She inquired.

"With my trusty sword." He said sarcastically, closing the gap between them. He stared hard into her eyes. "Does it really matter?" He asked once more; annoyed now.

"Yes." She answered simply, tilting her head up to defiantly return his stare.

"Why?" He asked, peering into her eyes; looking for answers. "Why would you care how they were defeated? What would you, someone who is so powerful in comparison to us all, gain with the knowledge of how Frieza and his old man bit it?" He asked. From the confused look on her face, he explained, "It's a euphemism."

She nodded her head once, before contemplating his question. "They were the two strongest beings in this quadrant of space. How did you defeat them?!" She asked, enraged now at his refusal to answer.

Trunks knew that there was more to this query, but feeling as they were getting nowhere, he gave in. "I cut them into pieces and incinerated them with a ki blast." He finally answered her; staring hard into her eyes, looking for a clue as to what was taking place inside her mind.

Tauviana looked at him disbelievingly. "You… but how?! You could not have possibly been strong enough." And then her eyes widened. King Cold and his son fell at the hands of a Super Saiyan. She was perplexed. "Super Saiyan…" She breathed out loud. Trunks grew uncomfortable in her company. "You turned into a Super Saiyan. This transformation… how does it work?" She question, dead serious. "Show me."

Trunks looked her over, confused by this sudden interest. "No." He told her calmly.

Tauviana was not accustomed to that word. "No?" She asked, grabbing hold of his neck. "I've never responded well to that word." She hissed into his ear, before tightening her grip around his collar.

Immediately Trunks found himself smashed clear through the window and into the courtyard. Luckily he was able to maneuver his body and land on his feet. Just as he was steadying himself, he watched as Tauviana flew out of the hole he created, and floated down to stand face to face with him. "Not very subtle, are you?" He joked, hoping to distract her.

She merely narrowed her eyes. "Now I'm going to hit you with a ki blast just strong enough to end someone of Cold's power level. Since you needed to be a Super Saiyan to incinerate him, you'll need to be one to survive this." She told him powering up. "Bottom line, you are going to show me your transformation. Or you will die in the process." Tauviana told him, the light forming in the palm of her hand.

Trunks stared at the enlarging ball of light. "I guess it's your move then," he positioned himself into a defensive pose, "Princess."

"That it is." And with that, the entire courtyard erupted into chaos.

AN: So there's the new update! Hope you enjoyed the super long chapter.

Big thanks for sticking with this story and reading. I know the updates are far between, but the fic has not been abandoned.

A very SPECIAL THANKS to my REVIEWERS last chapter:

REVOLVE X: Thank you! Who do you think Tauviana will be paired with? She of course has her betrothed Nevyn, but there are a couple eligible bachelors her age right on Earth. Maybe she'll learn something from them and be changed like Vegeta was… or maybe she's interested in stealing one of the full-blooded Saiyan's from their mates. Who knows? I guess you'll just have to stay tuned to see!

KERITIGER: Thanks! Yeah, I think we're getting closer to the heart of the matter. She came to Earth for a reason, a very specific reason. You're going to find out soon enough exactly what that reason is and why it's so important for her to find.

CHROSIS: To better address your comment, let me explain a few things: Now, my story does not go further than a little after the Cell games and right before Buu. Stories aren't that interesting when someone is too powerful. So when Goku became essentially the greatest ever, well any story after that would be dull; he'd have no challenges. And so far in my story, it hasn't happened. Also, take into account that Vegeta is explaining what he's learned of the kyyans through hearsay and that he was no where near super saiyan level when he was in Frieza's employ. Also, Vegeta does say that he and Goku could probably take the king and queen. The true problem that he has with the kyyans, if you ignore Tauviana, is that they have the numbers. Two full blooded super saiyans against an entire race of people Frieza's level and higher… well, the odds aren't too great, so he doesn't want a war. Don't worry, I promise everything will make sense in the end. I mainly just wanted to give Goku and the gang an actual non man-made challenge, that causes them to first be defeated, then go into super training mode, and rise to the challenge in the end. Thanks so much for reviewing and voicing your concerns and opinions. I think you'll really like what's to come, so stay tuned.

I guess you've all noticed that Tauviana's having a few issues. Her character has been hyped up and talked up and she seemed practically invincible. But she was never meant to be a Marysue. Like I was saying with CHROSIS, I think beings that are too powerful are boring, so something has to be wrong with her, right? Right. The question is, what's going to happen? All her life she's had to use that blue potion to prevent her from losing control, but maybe she was always meant to. So I guess we'll see if she has a little transformation of her own.

Also, who is the Renois? And why is Tauviana so interested in the demise of the Icejin? So many questions, yet so little time. Oh well, I really do hope you guys stick around to find out.

Again, THANK YOU ALL FOR READING AND REVIEWING!
