Hey, It's been a while eh?

Anyways read and let me know what you think.

Ask questions if you want, I'll answer as soon as I can...

Greeley, Pennsylvania

Dean and I had just finished a case in Pennsylvania. A vampire. Him and I were working together the best we could, but he always worked better with Sam then anyone else. He had snapped at me a few times, but I knew that he was worrying about his brother.

I had left Dean one night, and I had went to see Adam. After I had retold him what had happened between his older brothers, he had refused to join Dean. He refused to try and replace Sam. Adam had said that he wouldn't hunt, he was needed as a researcher, Bobby was just getting out of the hospital and the other hunters needed someone to help him.

Now, Dean didn't seem to have to much of a problem with Adam not joining them. But during our last hunt, he seemed to figure out that vampires seemed to really bug me and he still hadn't asked why. I mean, both Sam and Dean know I was killed by someone that was supposed to protect me. But he was torn between looking at where Sam used to sit, and looking at me in the back seat, wanting to ask the questions that were bugging him.

When he glanced into the rear-view mirror he caught me watching him. Raising an eyebrow, I challenged him to ask the questions.

He kept a steady eye on both the road and on me. I grew tired of waiting and crawled from the backseat into shotgun. Getting comfy, I leaned with my back against the window, kicking my shoes of and placing my feet on his lap. He looked down at my feet then back at me. "Really?"

Rolling my eyes, I answered, "Yes, really. If I'm going to tell you about my life as a human, I might as well be comfy. Now, tell me what you know about me."

His hands clenches tightly on the wheel. He took a breath, "I know that you've been watching over me for about five years. Not completely willingly. You were killed by something I hunt. By your reaction to what happened back there, it's a strong bet that a vampire had something to do with your death. Your parents were are non existent in your life. You have more then one boss. You refuse to go by the name you were given. You are now rebel, like Cass. You outrank him. He doesn't know who you are or what you are, and you call yourself a Guardian. And that there are more then just you."

Surprised, "You've been paying attention." When he didn't reply she took a breath, "Would you rather I talk about my human life, or do you want to know what I can tell you about being a Guardian? I won't be able to tell you everything. But I can explain some things."

He debated for a minute, "Tell me about how you became my Guardian."

"Human then." She took a breath. "Well, you know my parents are divorced, I lived with my mother for a while, before I had myself sent to my father. He was a good man. He was the Chief of Police in a severely small town. I don't know what happened to him. I couldn't bring myself to check on him after I died. My name... I... I don't want to tell you just yet. But, when I was seventeen, I met this boy. Typical, I know. But this guy, he was different. He wasn't human. The same for his so called family. He made me fall for him. His family helped him. They are incredibly fast, strong and seductive. They draw people in. After they managed to get me under their spell, they convinced me to go play baseball with them. There we ran into others like them. Their leader, he was fascinated'" She spat the word out before continuing, "by me, and started to hunt me down. He tricked me into believing that he had my mother. I may have not cared about how she raised me, but she was my mother. I ran to him in the idea that I would save her. He corned me, tortured me. The boy, he swore he would protect me. His two 'brothers' and 'sister' killed the man that wanted me. Because of him, I would have been turned into one of the monsters that you hunt so passionately. His 'father', he said that I could be saved, if the acted fast enough, and, if, and only if, he did not give into temptation. But... He couldn't fight it. He killed me when he swore that he would always protect me."

After a few minutes of silence, "A vampire? You almost got involved with a coven?"

Laughing at how pathetic it sounded. "Yeah. I was a seventeen year old girl made to feel special. But these vampires are different from what you hunt. These vampires, they have to be torn apart and burned, otherwise they can be put back together."

"Tough son's of bitches then. A flame-thrower outta do it." Dean said, nodding his head to his own statement. "You were played into the world of things that go bump in the night. How'd you become a Guardian?"

"I was killed by the supernatural. A vampire took my life. My bosses gave me the option of passing onto heaven or protecting those who protect the world from the real bastards." She answered.

"And you choose to protect?" Dean asked. "Why?"

"I wanted to help save people. To keep them from having to go through what I had too." She replied quietly.

"Tell me something... Did you choose to protect Sam and I, or were you assigned?" Dean questioned.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, she snorted. "Your previous Guardians, and I do mean more then one, well, they averaged about a week. They couldn't handle trying to protect you. And when I died, with how stubborn I am, they assigned me to you both. They didn't think I would last very long. But here I am." She said, raising her hands, shrugging. "I've been here for five years now."

"So we're difficult?" Dean asked with a smirk on his face.

Rolling her eyes, "You could say that. Now find us another crappy motel. You need sleep and I need to check in with Cass and, uh well I won't bore you with all the names."

==At the Motel==

When they got to the cheap motel, Dean shrugged off his jacket, he went to the bathroom and grabbed a washcloth and started to wipe the blood off his jacket.

Angel sat on the bed, crossed legged. Tilting her head, "Brace yourself, Dean."

"Huh?" He said confused, looking up, he jumped when he saw Cass in the mirror. "Jeez- Don't do that!"

"Hello Dean."

Dean turned around, Cass didn't back up. Angel smirked at Dean's discomfort. "Cass, we talked about this. Personal space."

He took a step back, "My apologies."

Dean grabbed his jacket and walked into the room, "how'd you find me?" He asked as he rubbed his hands long his ribcage. "I though I was flying below the angel radar."

Rolling her eyes, "Uh- you forget that I can speak with them at anytime. I don't need a phone like you do."

"No, I didn't forget, because you never told me."

Before Angel could reply, Cass spoke up, looking around the room, "Where's Sam?"

Me and Sam are taking separate vacations for a while." Putting on his jacket, he spoke again, "So, you find God yet? More importantly, can I have my damn necklace back please?"

"No I haven't found him yet. That's why I'm here. I need your help."

"With what? The God hunt? Not interested."

"It's not God. It's someone else."

Shoving his hands in his pockets, "Who?"

"It's an Archangel. The one who killed me. He hunts her now." Cass answered.

"Excuse me?" Dean questioned.

"His name is Raphael."

"You were wasted by a Teenage Mutant Ninja Angel?" Dean scoffed.

"I've heard whispers that he's walking the earth. This is a rare opportunity."

"For what, revenge?" Dean demanded to know.

"Information."

"So you think if you find this dude, he's just gonna spill God's address." He asked as he walked back to the sink.

"Yes. Because we are gonna trap and interrogate him."

Dumbstruck, he looked back to Cass, "Your serious about this?"

"Yes."

"So, what, I'm Thelma and you're Louise and we're just gonna hold hands and sail off this quilt together?" When Cass didn't get the reference, Dean scoffed. He walked around Cass, "Give me one reason why I should do this when I can go on hunts with her?"

"Because you're Michael's vessel and no angel will dare harm you."

"Oh, so what? He's gonna be your bullet shield now." Angel demanded to know.

Cass looked at Dean then back at her, "I need his help because you both are the only ones who will help me." Angel didn't have to look back to know that there was shock on Dean's face. "Please."

"All right, fine." Dean agreed. "Where is he?"

"Maine." Cass reached to reach and touch his forehead, so he could transport him. "Let's go."

"Whoa, whoa." Dean said, leaning back.

"What?" Cass questioned.

"Last time you zapped me someplace I didn't poop for a week." He explained.

Angel grimaced at the confession. "That was more then I needed to know."

Dean ignored her, "We're driving."

==To Sam==

"Hey, Keith, you play?" asked as she threw darts at the board.

"That depends." 'Keith' answered. "What are we playing for?"

"World peace." She answered.

Sam scoffed. "Oh, is that all?"

"Can I ask you something?" She said as she went back to throwing the darts.

"Shoot." He said as he dried his hands.

"You finish that crossword puzzle in the kitchen?" She asked as she grabbed all the darts off the board.

"Uh, I guess. Why?" He asked as he walked towards her.

"The New York Times' Saturday crossword?" She asked as she handed him some darts.

Playing dumb, "Uh, was it?"

"Uh-huh. You blow into town last week, you don't talk to anybody. You're obviously highly educated. You're like this-"

"Riddle wrapped inside an enigma wrapped inside a taco?" Sam finished.

"Here's what we play for: when I win, you buy me dinner and tell me your life story." She said confidently.

"Sounds fair." He said before throwing the darts. All hitting the bulls eye.

"Very misterioso." She said as she admired his handy work.

They both turned when they heard the woman on the news talked about the strange things happening weather wise. "Freak hail, lightning strikes, now fire is hitting the town of Hawley tonight. Locals say what started as a hailstorm late this afternoon suddenly turned to massive lightning strikes."

Sam walked to the TV to watch the news. "That triggered the fire now consuming more than twenty acres along the Route Seventeen corridor. County officials are advising all Hawley residents to prepare for what could become mandatory evacuations." The owner of the bar turned off the TV.

He threw the remote onto the counter, "Damn. Is it me or does it seem like the end of the world?"

==Back to Dean- Waterville, Maine==

Dean and Cass climbed out of the car, whilst Angel just popped out. "We're here why?" Dean asked.

"A deputy sheriff laid eyes on the archangel." Cass answered.

"And he still has eyes? All right, what's the plan?"

Cass shrugged, "We'll tell the officer that he witnessed an angel of the Lord. Then the officer will tell where the angel is."

"Serious? Gonna walk in there, tell him the truth?" Dean asked worried.

"Why not?" Cass asked confused.

Angel patted him on the back, "Because they're humans." She held out her hand, conjuring a set of fake ID's for him. "When human's want something, really, really bad," She gave him a small smile while buttoning up his shirt and straightening his tie, "They lie."

As Dean walked inside the precinct he answered Cass' question of why. "That's how you become president."

As they all walked in, Dean called, "Deputy Framingham?" He pulled out his credentials, "Hi. Alonzo Mosely, FBI. This is This is our Supervisor, Angela Lopez, and partner, Eddie Moscone." He looked over and saw that Cass hadn't taken his out yet. He cleared his throat, and he pulled his ID out, holding them upside down. He rolled his eyes, reaching over, flipping them so they were the right way. "Sorry. He's, uh, new. That's why Lopez is here."

The deputy looked back to Angel, "Sir, do you mind if we as you a few questions?"

"Uh, sure. Talk here, though." He said as pointed to his right ear. "Hearing's all blown to hell in the other one."

"That happen recently?" Dean asked as they all walked into his office.

"Yeah. Gas station thing. Why your here, isn't it?"

"Yes, it is." Dean answered as he and Cass sat. "You mind just running us through what happened."

Angel pulled out a notebook as he spoke, taking notes, "A call came in, disturbance out at the Pump 'n Go on Route Four."

Looking up from her notebook, "What kind of disturbance?"

"Would not have believed my eyes if I hadn't seen it myself. We're talking a riot. Full-scale." The deputy answered.

"How many?" Dean asked.

"Thirty, forty. In all-out, kill-or-be-killed combat."

"Any idea what set them off?"

Cass answered, not thinking of the human in the room. "It's angels and demons probably. They're skirmishing all over the globe."

"Come again? What did he say?"

"Nothing." "Demons." Dean and Cass answered.

Angel tried to do some damage control. "Demons. You know, drink, adultery. We all have our demons, right, sir?"

"I guess." He answered, looking weary at Cass and Dean.

"Anyway, what happened next?" Dean asked.

"Freaking explosion, that's what. Oh, they said it was one of those underground gas tanks but I don't think so."

"Why not?"

"It wasn't your usual fireball. It was-" Walt started to explained.

"Pure white." Cass interrupted.

"Yeah. Gas station was leveled." Walt answered. "Everyone was- It was just horrible. Then I see this one guy kneeling there real focused like. Not a damn scratch on him."

"Do you know the man?" Angel asked.

"Donnie Finnerman. Mechanic there."

"And let me guess, he vanished into thin air?" Dean questioned.

"Uh, no, Kolchak. He's down at St. Pete's." Walt answered, once again concerned about the two posing as agents.

Cass repeated, "St. Pete's."

"Thank you." Dean said, annoyed at how the angel was making his job harder.

Angel looked at the hunter and angel, "if you'll excuse me gentlemen, I'd like to talk to the deputy alone." Dean looked at her, concerned. She gave them a look that said she was serious. After they left, Angel sat in one of the chairs. "I apologise for those two. Agent Mosely is extremely hard two work with."

The deputy gave a short laugh, "I can't imagine why."

Angel laughed quietly. "He goes through partners faster then I can replace them. I had hopes that Agent Moscone would fit well with him, but I don't think he will make in the FBI."

"That's for sure." The deputy mumbled.

"Thank you for your time sir. I just wanted to apologise for my men. Mosely' review is coming up, and with his past, it is a safe bet that I will be chaining him to a desk." Angel said, standing up, offering her hand.

Standing up as well, he took her hand, he goes to say something, but before he could, Angel weaves a little of her magic so to speak, changing his memories of the three of them, making his memories of the interview seemed more normal then what had just happened.

"Thank you again, Deputy. If we have any more questions we'll be in touch." Angel said as she firmly shook the man's hand.

"It was no problem, Ms.."

"Lopez. Supervisory Agent Angela Lopez." As the deputy goes to walk her out, "Oh don't worry about me. I can find my way out."

==At the Hospital==

The trio looked through the window, watching Raphael's vessel. The man was sitting in the middle of the hospital room, looking out the window.

Dean spoke, "I take is that's not Raphael anymore."

"Just an empty vessel." Cass answered.

"You should know," Angel spoke up, "If you were to say yes to Michael, and survive the whole deal. This is what will most likely what will happen to you."

"Actually, Michael is much more powerful then this. His fate if far worse then what has happened to this man." Cass spoke up. Effectively riding what little comfort Angel had just created.

==Back to Sam==

Sam was sitting at the table, laptop open in front of him. He was scrolling through his contacts, he scrolled down to Dean's name, he hesitated before scrolling back up to Bobby's number hitting send.

"Hey, Bobby. How you doing?"

"Well, I ain't running any marathons, but I'll live. Where are you?"

"Uh, Garber, Oklahoma. I found a town showing Revelation Omens."

"What omens?"

"All right, listen to this. 'And upon his rising, there shall be hail and fire mixed with blood.'"

"Ain't that delightful."

"Yeah. We already go hailstorms and fires. Guessing blood and fires. Guessing blood can't be to far behind."

"Okay."

"What?"

"There a reason you're calling?"

"Dean didn't tell you?"

"He told me."

"Yeah, well, so I just thought you might wanna find who's in the area and put a man on this.."

"Okay. Let me see if I can think of the best hunter who might be in the immediate vicinity. Oh, that'd be you."

"I can't. I'm sitting this one out."

"Sam."

"I gotta go. I'm so sorry." Sam apologised before hanging up. Mumbling under his breath, "God, Angel, I hope you can forgive me."

What he didn't expect, was that someone would talk back to him.

"She can't hear you, you know." Sam jumped, pointing a gun at the voice. "Whoa! Hold on! I'm your sub!" He yelled, holding his hands in surrender.

Not lowering his gun, Sam demanded, "Who the hell are you?"

"Not hell. Or heaven for that matter. I don't serve either them. I'm Jared. I'm your substitute Guardian. I watching over you till you smarten up and rejoin your brother."

"So Angel can't hear me? She can't protect me?" Sam questioned, slowly lowering his gun.

"That's not her name. But yes, she can't hear you or protect you right now." He scratched his head, "She's weird though."

"Weird how?"

"When she's not protecting you, like right now, she can still feel what your feeling. So long as it's a strong emotion. Like pain, fear and panic. None of us can do that but for some reason, Marie can." After he said that, he had an Oh Shit! expression on his face.

"Marie?" Sam asked confused.

Rubbing his face, "Crap" he muttered. "Yeah. Marie. That's what she goes by now. She's even got the bosses calling her Marie. Or Mary. That, in its self, is incredible. And stupid."

"You know her?" Sam demanded to know about the woman that was guarding them.

"Of course. We all know about the vampire girl." Jared said in a duh tone.

"Vampire Girl?" Sam repeated.

"Dude, what do you think killed her? And me, and half the pack." When he saw the highly confused look on his face he went on to explain. "You know, for a hunter, you know jack shit of this world. Sit down. The story about the vampire girl is a long one..."

Anyways...

What do you think?

Let me know if you have any questions.
