Me- I am SO SORRY about the long update... work caught up with me...
Bunnymund- Ah TRIED ta tell ya ta update, but NO! Ya wouldn't listen!
Me- Oh, rack off. I'm updating now, ain't I? Also, this story is now ended. At some point in the future, there will be an arc series about the life of the Bunnymund family here, but not right now. Enjoy the Kits- and the surprise! ;)
Bunny's POV
The kit's were due any day now. Jaclyn and I had been staying at the pole to make sure she got the care she needed.
Needless to say, she and Frost bonded real quick. He'd come and tell her about all the pranks and stuff he'd pull on people, and she'd help him figure out ways to get more believers. She's real creative. Frost's believers shot up from those ten in Burgess to almost a hundred within their first week of interacting with each other! Now, three months later, he had almost as many as we did.
"Jaclyn? How ya doin', luv?" I said, walking into the infirmary where North's Yetis had put her. She looked a little pale, but otherwise fine. Her stomach swelled with the kits inside. North had said there were only two, and while I admit I had wanted more, two was good as well.
"Pretty good. Your kits are bruising my stomach again." She whined.
"Oh, ma kits, are they?" I teased, sitting on a chair next to her bed, holding her hand.
"When they beat me up like this, yes, they are yours!" she giggled. That was another thing that had occurred since I took her from her village. She laughed and giggled, which she'd never done before in the Warren. I loved it.
"Well, they're jus' explorin' their range o' motion, luv. Ya can't blame 'em." I said, kissing her head.
"Bunny, do you think they'll be boys or girls?"
"Ah'm hopin' fer one o' each m'self. But whatever we have, ah'll be happy wit' 'em." She smiled at me. There was a knock at the door and North barged in.
"How are kits and Jackie? Good, da?"
"We're fine, North! Get yer loud self outta here, she needs quiet!" I complained, just as Jaclyn let out a cry of pain.
"B-bunny! I think my water broke!" she shouted. North instantly sprung into action, calling in Yetis and shooing me out into the hallway.
"Oi, why can't ah stay wit' ma mate?!" I complained.
"Jackie's orders. She want kits to be surprise for you." North said, slamming the door behind me.
Seven hours. Way too long for any normal delivery, even an immortal one. What I something went wrong? What if the kits were stillborn? Or Jaclyn couldn't handle it?!
"Bunny." The door to the infirmary opened. North smiled and gestured me inside. I hopped inside quickly, and found Jaclyn lying on the bed, sleeping peacefully, a small smile on her face. I heard a snuffling sound from a nearby crib, and hopped over, only to be caught off-guard.
There were not two kits in the crib… but four. I could tell there were three boys and one little girl. The boys were a healthy size, but the girl was curled up between the boys, and she was a bit of a runt. I could care less, though. They were all mine.
"Bunny…?" a soft moan came from Jaclyn's bed and I rushed over as she woke up.
"Yeah, ah'm here. So are the kits. All four o' them."
"Wait, four?! North said there were only two, maybe three at most!" she said.
"Easy, easy, they're all healthy and alive, don't worry. Three are bucks, but we got one little doe." I'd explained Pooka terminology to her a while back, so she'd know these things when I taught them to the kits as they grew older.
"A girl… and three boys… Aster, that's great! But…what are we going to name them?"
"Ah was thinkin' o' namin' the bucks after people we know? Ma father was named Eamon, an' ma brother was named Avon. Those sound like good names?
"I love them… I knew a boy in my village, he gave my mother and I bread once when we had nothing. I'd like to name one of the boys after him. He said his name was Rowen. Could we…use that?"
"Sounds wonderful, luv. What about the shiela, though? She's a runt, an' ah don't wanna give her a runt litter name like Pooka tradition states."
"Snow Lilly. I can't think of anything else for a sweet, little girl to be named." She sighed, holding my hand against her chest.
"Alright, then. Eamon, Avon, Rowen and Snow Lilly Bunnymund then. And, o' course, Jaclyn Bunnymund as well." I said, kissing her beautiful lips.
"One happy family." Jaclyn said.
