The sudden appearance of the armed men surprised Akako.

When they knowingly talked about Kaitou Kid, she felt fear in her bosom. She did not want for his death!

Akako was ashamed to admit the relief she felt, when the gun was aimed towards the old man that was working as Bartender.

She wondered if they were next, and started panicking at the open confirmation the man voiced.

Koizumi Akako was a powerful witch, but there was a reason to avoid using magic in public-something she feared will be a must, if they were to survive this.

She was mentally preparing to counterattack, when the lights turned off, engulfing the place in total darkness.

As soon as her sight was lost, though, a loud bang rattled in her ears, a gunshot-followed by a pained scream!

The witch feared to learn which of her friends will be discovered as shot, when the lights will return. That the darkness meant she had no target, even if it would keep her magic secret, did not help. Still, Akako reached for an inner pocket, her fingers brushing a gainst a powerful talisman, supposedly taken from a western warlock of dubious practice who used it for protection, seeking to activate it.

And suddenly a terrible feeling, a foreboding Aura appeared, registering on her supernatural sense like the killing intent of a monster, hungry to devour the flesh of man.

Soon more gunshots followed, thankfully not eliciting pained shouts from her friends.

There were, however adult screams of pain that from the direction of the men involved.

As she ducked, and hid behind some barrier, she heard the sounds of struggle, more gunshots and yells of anger and pain, but nobody was talking.

Soon, even those stopped.

With the end of the fight, the feeling of bloodthirsty malice disappeared, as if imagined.

With shaky fingers, the Witch released her tight grip on the magic trinket, and tried to reorient herself in the blackness.

It was Hakuba-kun that broke the silence first, speaking softly from somewhere to her right. "Anyone alive?"

"Y-yes, Hakuba-kun, I…I could use my phone to light a bit until we find a switch or something…" Nakamori-san replied shakily from somewhere in front of her..

"Aoko, I think you better call the police now, and an ambulance. And go outside to do it, the door should be somewhere to your right. Hurry!" Kaito had none of the usual confidence in his voice. In fact, he sounded anxious and alarmed. For some reason his voiced seemed as shaken as she felt.

Uncertain, slow footsteps followed, until the door outside opened, and the form of the other girl left.

"Kuroba-kun…"

"I just tripped over a severed hand. My sleeve soaked in the blood from it, and it still holds a gun." Kuroba-kun explained with a strange surety in his voice. "I don't want Aoko to see it, or if there are other 'bits' around.

"Akako, Can you go see that she isn't alone, outside? Please? Hakuba, there should be a flashlight, under the counter, the old man is bleeding, but I can't see how bad it is."

Apparently it was quite serious. The paramedics picked him first, hurriedly driving him to intensive care ward. None of the other wounded were in as serious condition.

Of the other wounded… while most of the men were stable, once the bleeding was stopped, many would require medical help for the foreseeable months. All sported broken bones, or missing body parts-apparently that hand Kaito found wasn't the only one sliced through.

The rest… will never need medical service again.

Of the apparent leader of the group, only that hand, still holding the gun that shot Jii-san, remained.

Akako didn't know if he escaped, or was taken… nor which she preferred.

While she was spared the sight of the carnage, when the police arrived, she overheard more than enough.

The witch knew that there will be no sleep for her tonight. She glanced around the cops for her three… friends.

Nakamori-san was talking with her father, who was hugging her tightly, angry expression on his face.

Hakuba-kun was shaken, having actually seen the insides of the bar, sipping from a hot cup of tea one of the officers gave him, to relax, his face still pale.

Kuroba-kun looked determined, only it was different determination from his usual focus on his heists… there was something both hard and brittle in it.

Author Notes: I have been trying to work past a writers block on another of my fics, and upon taking a short breather from it, read a really good fic from this fandom, which urged me to write some more of it myself.

I hope this was good, and interesting piece.

As always reviews and criticism are welcome, though i would prefer it from registered users-I cant reply to guest reviews.

Also, keep sending me ideas for more crossover drebbles-what you want me to cross TG with, and how.
