Chapter 14 - Epilogue
It would be almost 3 weeks before everything was, for the most part, back to normal for both Pete and Christy. He was able to get back to work with two days of having the bandages removed while it was almost 2 weeks before Christy could even go on light duty. However, finally both were able to say that they were completely back at their respective jobs.
That wasn't all that was happening for the two of them. Their relationship was continuing to grow by leaps and bounds. Yes they were taking it easy, especially with their work schedules more often than not making things difficult in terms of getting together. But, both were of the opinion that if you really wanted something that you had to work for it. That was why they were determined to make things work. Several times their paths crossed in their respective lines of duty and they had to maintain a professional attitude. This did not go unnoticed by anyone that knew either of them.
It would take almost 3 months before either of them actually said the three little words that most people like to hear… 'I Love You'. From there, both felt that the sky was the limit. Each knew in their heart of hearts that they were meant to be together for however long the powers that be decided to let them live. But, for now, they were content to just enjoying themselves and each other.
