A/n: I have finally seen Age of Ultron and it was beautiful. It also got my brain working with some great ideas for this story. My life has also been extremely hectic, which is why this chapter took so long. Many apologies, my dear readers. On with the story!

Chapter 14

I watched Bruce as moved from holographic screen to holographic screen, making adjustments and adding things to the design for the specialized brain activity scanner. Tony and him seemed to be an entire world of their own as they worked side by side, making it look like some kind of a dance as they moved around each other in unison. They sometimes would say short sentences full of terms I didn't understand. Once in a while, Bruce would glance up at me and smile before returning to the project at hand. Tony caught him doing it once and instantly dropped everything to question us. "Alright," he started, looking between the two of us. Bruce turned his back to Tony, fiddling with the blue print layed out on the screen in front of him. I looked up from some of the notes I had written down after one of my combat lessons. Tony slid some of the holographic screens out of the way and sat himself on the counter next to Bruce. "Am I missing something here?"

"Yeah, we're missing a key component to this part of the scanner." Bruce said, brushing off Tony's question with ease. I grinned smugly as Tony let out a huff of annoyance. Tony then proceeded to pull the holographic screen around behind him and away from Bruce. Bruce looked over at him with a look that was nothing short of unamused. "Tony, this is more important than your jokes. Let's just get back to work."

"Not until one of you spills the delicious can of beans." Tony said, smirking as he did so. Bruce crossed his arms over his chest in defiance, shooting his partner an annoyed look. Tony strolled over to me, leaving the holographic monitor behind so Bruce could get back to work. "What about you, Reddens? Hmm? Would you care to tell me why Banter over there keeps staring over at you?"

Bruce looked over his shoulder at me, with a pleading look in his eyes. Tony didn't catch this since he was facing me, but I did. I knew just how persistent Tony was and knew he wouldn't quit until he found out why Bruce was doing that. He'd probably even go as far as to break into the surveillance system to keep tabs on Bruce and myself. That was something I didn't want to have to go through, so I told Tony the truth. "Bruce and I are in a relationship, Tony. I can't believe that you couldn't tell that just from him looking at me. Aren't you supposed to be some kind of genius?"

"I had a hunch that's what it was. Either that or you two had some mind blowing..." Tony stopped talking as an annoying buzzing sound started to make itself heard. Bruce turned quickly to one of the screens and attempted to access the layout on it, but it seemed to have locked up him. Instead of the normal blue, the screen was red and notifications were popping up all over the place. Tony rushed to Bruce's side and began typing in something lightning fast. "Bruce, what did you do?" Tony asked teasingly. Bruce shook his head and sat back, waiting for Tony to fix whatever was wrong. Speaking of which, whatever Tony was doing didn't seem to work at all and only made it worse. The screens went blank and Tony let out an exasperated grunt of annoyance. "What is going...?"

Suddenly, the screens came back on and I nearly let out a sigh of relief, but a video popped up on the one Tony and Bruce were by. I found myself immediately moving closer to get a better look at what was going on. When I stood before the screen, the image was blurry and it appeared whoever was holding the camera was walking fast. They slowed down and a set of doors was unmistakably why they had done so. One was pulled open in a hurried manner, just as this person appeared to be. After entering the room, I could hear an inhuman noise that sent shivers up and down my spine. Whatever it was, sounded like it was in an awful amount of pain. "Tony, why did this video..." The image that popped up as the person carrying the camera turned caused me to lose my voice. Gabby was the source of the loud, breathy, growling noise and she was strapped down onto a gurney, struggling against her bonds. Her eyes open wide and her skin seemed to have taken on a light shade of blue. Bruce grabbed my arm, holding it a little too tightly though I didn't even feel it. My entire focus was on my sister.

"What did you do to her?" A person whose features and voice were concealed by censorship, asked to someone behind the cameraman. He was standing next to the bed Gabby was in. A response wasn't given, but the man who had questioned the person leaned over her. Was this a doctor that Loki had under his control? "Her condition was fragile enough. Speeding up the process could kill her! Undo what you have done before it's too late!" A flash of blue light lit up the screen and when it was gone, Gabby fell back onto the bed as if she had been drained of all energy. In the bright lights of the room, I could see the sheen of sweat over her forehead and her eyes staring blankly upwards. What were they doing to her? She looked practically brain dead laying there, pale and absently staring towards the ceiling. All of a sudden, the video feed was cut off and the screens returned to normal.

"No." I breathed. My fear turned to rage and I looked up at Bruce. "Bruce, what are they doing to her? Why was she like that? We need to find her before they can do anything else, Bruce. We have to find her."

"I know, Raylin." he said, running a hand against my cheek gently. "I promised myself that I would get her back to you at any cost. I plan to see that promise all the way through." I stood up on my toes and wrapped my arms around Bruce's neck, resting my head on his shoulder. He hugged my waist and planted a kiss on the top of my head. Suddenly, we heard Tony let out long joyous laugh.

"Tony, there is nothing funny about Bruce comforting me." I said angrily, pulling away from my boyfriend. I looked over at him, my hands on my hips. He stood next to a computer with a smirk on his face. "Seriously!?"

"That's not what I was laughing at." Tony shot back. "Whoever sent that video didn't try to cover up their tracks. I just located the warehouse where the video came from."

A/n: Shorter chapter. I'm so sorry. At least it's something!
