A/N: SO I know random day to update but I wasn't feeling well and this popped into my head so I though why not. I don't own PoT.

Niou's mom dropped him off at the airport wishing him good luck with everything. She had given him some simple instructions to follow, a copy of her credit card for the hotel, and the phone number of an old friend that happened to live near the school. Now Niou was waiting for his plane in Terminal A all the while feeling more nervous than he had since he had joined the Rikkaidai. He heard his plane being called and gathered his things for the flight. Niou had just brought a carry on and two of his rackets. He wasn't sure if that was going to be enough and was hoping that it would be. He handed the attendant his boarding pass and she scanned him on. Once Niou was seated and everything was stowed in its proper place he put his earbuds in ready for a slightly lengthy flight to what he hoped to be his new school.

About 3 hours later Niou's plane landed in Maine and he was getting off into the new world of snow and cold. He shrugged his coat on and proceeded to the exit of the plane. He went out the exit and hailed one of the cabs that were passing by. He got in and gave the driver directions to Foxcroft. Soon they were off and only moments later they were pulling up to the school. He was impressed with the buildings there. The first building he saw was the main building of the school. It was a nice brick building with white trim. He thanked the cab driver and handed him some cash. Niou got out and made his way towards the main building. He went to the first floor and found the admissions office. Niou asked for directions to the tennis court and was pointed toward the back of the school. He followed the directions and soon found himself on tennis courts equivalent to Rikkaidai. He stepped onto the court and five other heads turned his way.

"Hello and who might you be?" one person asked.

"Masaharu," Niou responded.

"Nice to meet you I am Andrew. Are you here for tryouts?" he prodded not sure what to say. The kid in front of him seemed menacing and oozing power.

"Yes I am here for the tryouts. When do we start," Niou tried to respond his best in English.

"In a few minutes, so where are you from?"

"Japan."

"Wow what brings you here to Foxcroft?" Andrew asked cocking an eyebrow.

"I wanted to become part of the tennis team and the academics seem more challenging," Niou stated.

"I see well that certainly is true. Welcome. Ok it looks like we are going to get started. Everyone please line up over there. We will now begin the tennis tryouts. Masaharu would you like to start? Come on over here and I am going to serve you a ball. Please hit it into the basket."

Niou stood on the base line and waited for the serve. It came extremely fast and whizzed past his head. He stood there in shock trying to register what he had just witnessed. He hadn't seen something like this since he was in Japan and watching Yagyuu practice his Laserbeam serve.

"Well maybe you can return it this time. Remember into the basket," Andrew reminded him. Niou just smirked inwardly and readied himself for the other serve. The serve came his way and Niou stepped backwards receiving the serve and hitting it directly into the basket. Andrew raised an eyebrow and decided to test if it was beginner's luck. He served another ball just as fast in the opposite direction. What Andrew did not expect was what happened next. The ball gravitated towards Niou almost as if there were a force field around him. Niou hit the ball back and it landed perfectly in the basket.

"Good. Next person please come out," Andrew said and continued on with the tryouts. Once they had whittled down the group to just five people Andrew got serious.

"SO whatcha got in store for us next?" Niou drawled getting a bit bored with the weird tryouts. Rikkaidai had been totally different. As long as you could get past Yanagi at least once, not be bleeding after you played Sanada, and could remain on the court for more than 30 seconds during Yips you were on the team. Oh and you had to play REALLY good tennis, too.

"We will be playing a short ranking match. Please line up and you will be paired with a regular," Andrew informed the possible future members of the Foxcroft tennis team.

Niou lined up with the others and was assigned his partner. It was just a one set match so nothing too intense. The regular he was up against was a smaller looking man with glasses that held his racket very timidly. 'They must be desperate,' thought Niou. Just then he saw a ball coming his way and barely managed to catch the ball with the edge of his racket and return the ball. The match ended shortly after that shaky start with Niou winning 6-0. Then senior standing in front of him gave him an impressed look as they went to report their scores. They parted their ways and waited patiently to be assigned to their next opponent. Niou's next opponent was again a regular and again Niou took them 6-0. They went to report their scores and then stood around waiting for the next match. After several more matches Niou went back to the table only to find that it was his turn to face off with Andrew himself.

Niou lined up ready for the serve. He took back his racket and hit the first serve back to the captain. It went on with an excruciating long volley. Niou lunged for the hit as his senior hit a drop shot, but unfortunately for Niou he missed and fell on his front. He got up ready to hit the next serve and successfully did so. Unfortunately for him the rest of the match was downhill and he ended up losing to the captain 6-2. Niou panted as he walked to the side of the court and lined up waiting for the captain to make some sort of announcement.

"OK. All of you good job today. The results for the tennis team will be posted tomorrow outside the courts. See you all tomorrow," Andrew informed the soon to be team as he wiped his brow with a towel.

Niou wished they could have found out the positions that day. He had so much to do at the school. He also needed to find the nearest hotel to stay in for the night. One that was not too expensive. After all his mum was paying for this and he didn't want to spend all her money considering the tuition of the school. Niou was soon brought out of his thoughts by a tap on the shoulder. He turned around to see Andrew looking at him.

"Are you going to leave the indoor courts or did you want to practice some more?" Andrew teased as he gestured around him. Only then did Niou realize that they were the only two left in the gym.

"Sorry, I was just thinkin where I was goin to stay tonight. I need ta find a place that ain't to expensive considering my mum is payin for it and the tuition for this place is high enough," Niou explained to Andrew.

"Well why didn't ya say something? Ya can stay in my room. My roommate moved out a while ago and I have a spare bed," Andrew laughed as he started to walk away. Niou shrugged and followed the other male not wanting to argue at the moment. They arrived at Andrew's dorm not five minutes later and Andrew told the person at the front desk that he had a guest and proceeded to sign Niou in. They wandered up to the room and Niou could tell that the captain of the tennis team was obsessed with what he did. There were posters of famous tennis players decorating the walls. Books about tennis and improving your style lined the small bookshelf in the room. There was also a small locker that housed the captain's tennis rackets.

"You seem ta really like tennis," Niiou commented taking in the room around him.

"I could say the same for you," Andrew responded narrowing his gaze on the male in front of him. He had never seen a tennis player quite like Niou and he wasn't sure what to make of the other male.

"I played for my school back in Japan. Tough team to get onto to. Even tougher to be a regular. The captain and vice-captain there are more monstrous than me," Niou explained as he saw Andrew's eyes go wide.

"Wow, y'all must be something special for that."

"Yeah, I'm excited for this though. I really wanna be on the team. I gotta girl back home and I wanna let 'er know that it's all goin well, ya know?" Niou questioned.

"Yeah I know. Trust me bro I got one too and she impressed with all I done."

"Yeah so I guess tomorrow will tell me if I make it or not."

"Yo dude. I am the captain. I can just tell you right now. I mean you are stayin with me and as the future vice-captain of the team ya gotta start makin decisions with me," Andrew replied a smirk creeping into his voice.

"Woah seriously man? Didn't see that one coming. The foreigner is gonna be vice-cap. Thanks, man. I ain't gonna disappoint," Niou smiled as he finished making his bed and plopped back on it. He was going to have to tell Akari what had happened. She was going to have to tell the Rikkaidai team because he knew that they would be impressed.

"So, those monsters you were talkin' 'bout earlier… what exactly they like on the court?" Andrew prodded tentatively.

"Well there is Yukimura Seiichi. He is the captain like you except about twenny times more terrifying. He can use this thing called Yips. Makes ya go blind and shit. Anyone who can stay on the court without blubberin like a newborn is considered for the team. There is the vice- cap Sanada Genichirou. He is scary as hell. Slap ya if ya ain't do what he says and shit. Took over for a while when Yukimura was in the hospital. That was scary as hell. He can do magic moves too. Using lightnin' and fire and all the elements from some martial arts stuff ta make the tennis ball go wherever. Then there is Yanagi Renji. Ain't nothing too special 'bout him. He's the data master. Anything you can do he'll know 'bout it. Ya gotta make the guy play raw or imitate him if ya wanna get anything done or win against him. If ya get the ball past him ya gonna be on the regulars. Them three were on it since freshman year."

"Wow so these guys above ya in every way. By the way what is your specialty on the court. And what was with that like hurricane shit with the ball?"

"Me? My specialty is copying. Imitation to be more exact. I can copy anyone, including Yukimura. Scary shit I know, but if I do it for too long I get 'ffected by Yips and that shit ain't fun," Niou laughed as he remembered the one time he was blind for three hours.

Andrew and Niou continued to talk for several hours. Andrew never stopped asking questions about Japan and their tennis and Niou was more than happy to share all the horror stories of Rikkaidai. Andrew had decided by the end of the conversation that he would never be a regular on the Rikkaidai team. He also concluded that he never wanted to meet this Kirihara kid if he could help it. He didn't feel like being hospitalized because of a tennis match.

A/N: So I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I am sorry for all the slang speaking but I figured Niou and Andrew would speak like bros and not Webster dictionaries. Please leave a review. Next chapter we will be going back to Japan and the chapters will overlap a tiny bit due to Niou texting Akari.
