A One in a Millionth Chance

*This is a Klaine and Blellie story. Weird combination, I know, but I had an idea. It may start out as confusing, but it'll become clearer.

*I don't think that there will be POV's, but it will focus on one of the main 4 characters in each chunk of the story. I might do POV's when something important happens though.

*So, every chapter is going to be titled. The title is going to be based off of a lyric of a song, or song title, that I think fits the chapter.

*This chapter is titled by 'The Scientist' by Coldplay

TRIGGER WARNING IN THIS CHAPTER!

.Blaine.

"Finn! Be careful with that! My clothes are actually worth something!" Kurt yelled and then turned to Blaine and smiled apologetically. "I'll be right back," Blaine smiled and nodded and then watched s his boyfriend ran into the Hudmel driveway and started slapping his step-brother's arm. It was the time to go back to New York and Finn was planning to drive them to the airport on his way home and at the moment, Kurt was getting mad at him for not being careful with his luggage.

"Take care, kid," Blaine looked up and saw Burt smiling at him. "It was great to meet you."

"You too, Mr. Hummel," Blaine smiled.

"You were only here a few days, but I must've told you a thousand times that you should call me Burt," Blaine chuckled.

"Right, sorry, Burt," Burt smiled and clapped him on the shoulder and the two of them looked back at where Kurt was arguing with Finn. Burt glanced at Blaine and chuckled. "You really do love him, don't you?"

Blaine's eyes grew wide and he looked at his boyfriend's father in shock. "I-We haven't been dating that long-"

"You don't have to date for a long time before you realize that you love somebody." Burt smiled and looked back at his son. "I fell in love with Kurt's mom on our first date. I knew she was the one for me. I was just lucky enough to have her tell me she loved me back." Burt looked back at Blaine. "I can tell Kurt loves you too. The way he looks at you is exactly the way I looked at Elizabeth, and now how I look at Carole. There's no doubt in my mind that you two will work out. You two are like soulmates, and I've only seen the two of you together for a few days."

Blaine looked at Burt in shock and then smiled. "W-wow, thank you Mr.- I mean, Burt,"

Burt nodded. "Look, kid, I've only ever met one other boyfriend of Kurt's, and I can tell you right now that I like you a thousand times more than I liked that little punk," Blaine laughed a little. "I never thought that I would be happy with whoever Kurt ended up with because he's always been my little boy." Burt shrugged. "For so many years, we only have each other. But now…I'm just really happy he found you, kiddo,"

"I'm really happy I found him too," Blaine smiled and it only grew when Kurt started walking towards them, running a hand through his perfectly coiffed hair.

"You cannot be mad at me if I murder Finn on the way to the airport." Kurt said to his dad, who just rolled his eyes playfully.

"You two are even worse than you were when you guys were in high school,"

"Well, I think Finn got even more immature,"

"Kurt," Burt warned and Kurt sighed.

"I'm sorry." He jumped slightly when they all heard Finn honk the horn to his truck. "I guess we should go," Kurt said to Blaine and then turned back to his dad and hugged him tightly. "I love you, Dad,"

"Love you too, buddy." Kurt smiled sadly as he pulled away from his dad.

"Tell Carole that I'll be expecting emails on your next doctor appointment," Burt rolled his eyes and Kurt gave him a stern look, almost like they switched roles and Kurt was the father and Burt was the son.

"Okay, okay, I'll tell her, even though I'm sure she's planning on doing it anyway," Kurt smirked.

"Good," Kurt smiled. "I'll call you when we land,"

"I'll talk to you then," Burt then turned to Blaine. "You take care of my son,"

"I plan to," Blaine smiled and held out his hand for Burt to shake, but Burt just shook his head and brought Blaine in for a hug. Blaine stood in shock, but eventually returned the hug before Finn started honking again.

"Guess you guys better go before Finn gets out and drags you into the car himself," Kurt and Blaine laughed and then made their way towards the driveway. "Have a good flight!"

"Thanks! I love you, Dad!"

"Love you too, Kurt!" Kurt smiled and then hopped into the front seat and Blaine got into the back seat. The two of them waved as Finn pulled out of the driveway.

.Kurt.

"Fine, you were right," Blaine admitted and Kurt grinned in triumph. "Everything went well,"

"Everything went really well," Kurt grinned and grabbed his hand as they got situated in their seats. "Hey, what did was my dad talking to you about when I was yelling at Finn?" Kurt became confused when Blaine just gave him a mysterious smirk and kissed a small kiss to his lips.

"I'll tell you someday,"

"Blaine," Kurt whined and Blaine chuckled. "What the hell did my dad tell you?"

"Don't worry, it wasn't bad. It wasn't bad at all," Blaine grinned and Kurt frowned.

"I'm not talking to you," Blaine just chuckled.

/

"Will you tell me now?" Kurt threw him a pout.

"No."

"Damn it!"

/

"Though, I do love being home with my family, I love being back in New York," Kurt said as the two of them walked out of the airport. "So, should we split a cab ride, or you tired of me?" Kurt teased and Blaine laughed.

"You know I could never get tired of you,"

"Sappy," Kurt wrinkled his nose and Blaine just laughed again. "So, share a cab ride?"

"I would love-" Blaine cut himself when he heard his phone ringing from inside his pocket. He reached and grabbed it. He pulled it out and raised an eyebrow. "It's Blake. Do you mind-"

"No, go ahead," Kurt smiled and Blaine smiled back apologetically.

"Hey man," Kurt raised an eyebrow when he saw Blaine's facial expression change. "No, I'll be home soon. Leaving the airport soon. Please don't do anything stupid until I get to the apartment, okay?" Kurt's eyes widened. "I'll see you soon, hang in there, Blake," Blaine sighed as he hung up and shoved his phone back into his pocket. "I need to get home,"

"What's wrong with Blake?"

Blaine sighed and scratched at the back of his neck. "He…he didn't tell me much, but he told me that he just needed me. I don't know if he talked to his parents or something happened with Nellie, but I should get home,"

"No, I understand," Kurt said quickly. "Call me later and let me know how Blake's doing?"

"Yeah, okay," Kurt kissed him chastely and smiled. "I had a great time, Kurt, thanks for the trip,"

"No problem, I'll talk to you later, alright?"

"Alright,"

/

"NELLIE! RACHEL! I'M HOME!" Kurt shouted as he walked into the apartment. He wheeled in his luggage was starting to pull it to his room, when he saw Nellie curled up on the couch, with a blanket covering her tiny frame. Kurt's eyebrows furrowed together and he let go of his suitcase and he dropped his carry on and made his way over to the living room. "Nell?"

"Rachel's gone," Nellie croaked. "She had rehearsal,"

Kurt sat down on the coffee table in front of her. "Sweetie, what's wrong?" He questioned as he watched her squeeze her eyes shut. He watched the tears leak down her face and he knew that something had happened between her and Blake. "Did Blake do something stupid?" Nellie bit her lip and she shook her head.

"Blake did nothing wrong, It was all my fault," Nellie let out a small sob.

"What happened?"

"I-I can't tell you,"

"Why not?"

"It's too bad," Nellie breathed and Kurt moved closer to her, so he was now kneeling in front of her on the floor.

"Sweetie, you know I won't judge you," Nellie opened her eyes and stared into Kurt's and he gave her a tiny smile. "I won't tell a soul,"

"Not even Blaine?"

"Not even Blaine,"

"Alright, I'll tell you, but please, please don't judge me."

"I won't, I promise, honey,"

/

Kurt stared at Nellie as she slept. How could someone so amazing go through something like that? She had poured her heart out, sobbing the entire time. Kurt even started crying as he held her, not knowing how to react to something this…traumatizing. She had finally fallen asleep.

Kurt kissed her forehead and then quietly made his way to his room. He shut the door and then pulled out his phone, dialing Blaine's number. He pressed the phone to his hear, praying that his boyfriend would pick up the phone. Kurt knew that Blaine was probably comforting his best friend, but he needed to talk to him.

"Kurt, hey," Blaine breathed through the other line. "I was just going to call you,"

"Oh, you were?" Kurt questioned. "How come?"

"I wanted to talk to you about Nellie and Blake,"

"That's why I called you too," Kurt sighed. "I can't believe they broke up," Blaine hummed on the other end in agreement. "I honestly thought they would end up getting married. They seemed perfect for each other."

"I feel the exact same way. I would always tease Blake about me being the best man at their wedding, but I honestly thought they would end up together."

"I know…" Kurt sighed again. "So, what did Blake tell you?"

"That he and Nellie had just been lazing around our apartment a few nights ago and they had a great time. He didn't hear from her for a few days and then she showed up this morning and broke up with him," Blaine explained. "I can't believe Nellie would do that to Blake,"

"I know…whoa, whoa, whoa, what do you mean?"

"She just dumped him out of the blue after she said that he was the best boyfriend's she's ever had," Kurt glared at the wall and he quickly responded.

"She didn't dump him out of the blue. She has a legitimate reason!"

"And what's that?" Blaine snapped and Kurt gritted his teeth together angrily.

"She-I can't tell you. I promised not to,"

"Then why bring it up?"

"Because if you knew why she did it, you wouldn't be saying all these things!"

"Why can't you just tell me?"

"I promised not to!"

"So, now we're keeping secrets from each other?"

"This is our friend's relationship, not ours-"

"Well, right now, my friend is in his room crying."

"Well, my friend is lying on the couch, asleep, because she just cried herself to sleep!"

"She broke up with him!"

"If I were her, I'd do the same thing! She's been through so much lately! She doesn't need this!"

"What the hell, Kurt? You can't take her side! It's her fault!"

"No, it's not!"

"Yes-you know what? I'm not doing this. I cannot believe you're just taking her side when Blake's over here crying because she broke his heart."

"And I can't believe you're assuming things even though you don't know both sides of the story,"

"I feel like I don't know you at all. Maybe everything that's happened these past few months have been a mistake," Kurt's eyes widened and he felt his eyes start to water.

"Blaine-"

"I have to go, my best friend needs me,"

"Blaine, this is about their relationship, not ours!"

"Well, it looks like our relationship got involved." Blaine retorted. "I'll talk to you later." He said coldly

"Blaine-"

"Goodbye, Kurt,"

Kurt let out a small sob when he heard the line cut off. He threw his phone on his bed and froze when he heard a knock on his door. "C-Come in," He said softly and his door creaked open. He looked up and saw Nellie's tired face in the doorway. "N-Nellie, what are you doing awake?"

"I heard you yelling." Nellie walked into Kurt's room and shut the door behind her. "I'm so sorry, Kurt," Nellie whispered and Kurt shook his head and wiped at his eyes.

"You have nothing to be sorry for."

"B-but, I shouldn't have told you what happened. You wouldn't have had to defend me. You could've just taken Blake's side and you would still be happy-"

"Nells, it's not your fault." Kurt signaled for her to come and sit on the bed and she did and he quickly wrapped his arms around her. "I'm glad you told me. You could've driven yourself back into depression if you kept something like that a secret." Nellie buried her face into Kurt's shoulder. "Please don't blame yourself, for anything that happened, please, Nells,"

.Blake.

I woke up to the sound of a knock on the door. I buried my head deeper into my pillow and groaned. Whoever it was could wait until I was done sleeping. The knocking just grew louder and faster and I threw the covers off of me, cursing Blaine for leaving. I stalked out of my bedroom in my pajama pants and an undershirt. I trudged to the front door of our apartment and I opened the door. My frown quickly turned into a smile, but then it faltered.

Nellie was standing in front of me, but her eyes were bloodshot, like she had been crying.

"Hey, Nellie," I smiled and she threw me a fake smile. "I didn't know you were coming over,"

"Don't worry, I'm not staying long," Nellie said quietly. "I just need to talk to you about something," I gave her a concerned look and I stepped aside so she could walk in.

"Of course," I shut the door behind her. "What's up? Is something wrong?" She had her back to me and I heard a small sniffle. "Nell?" I took a step towards her and she turned around, tears falling down her face. "Hey, hey, hey, what's wrong? Are you alright?" She shook her head and I ran my hand down her arm and she quickly looked away from me. "You're started to scare me,"

"I'm sorry," She squeezed her eyes shut and shook her head back and forth. "I'm so sorry, Blake,"

"What's going on?"

"I-I'm breaking up with you," Blake looked at her in shock and his eyes were wide.

"W-what? Why?"Blake questioned. "D-Did I do something wrong?" Nellie quickly shook her head.

"No, no, it was all me." Nellie drew in a shaky breath. 'I'm so sorry, Blake. I just…can't." Nellie pushed past him and stopped at the door, turning back to give him a tearful look. "You can hate me if you want, I would hate me if I were you,"

"Nellie!"

"I'm sorry," She whimpered as she opened the door and walked out.

Blake just watched with sadness in his eyes, wondering what had happened between when she had left a few nights ago and when she arrived this morning.

.Nellie.

(Trigger warning. Skip next couple paragraphs if needed.)

The worst thing had happened to her between the time when she left Blake's apartment and when she got home. Nellie hated every minute of it. Every damn minute. Why did that have to happen to her? Why couldn't her past just be in the past? Why did she have to lose one of the best things that has ever happened to her?

She remembers it so clearly. Sure, it wasn't that long ago, but she remembered every detail. The smell, the sounds, the horrible, horrible feelings.

She had just kissed Blake goodnight and stepped out of the apartment when a hand found its way over her mouth. She tried to scream, but it was only muffled by the hand. She felt tears spring to her eyes when she was pulled backwards and her head was rested on the attacker's shoulder.

It was Josh.

He dragged her into his apartment and shut the door. He quickly grabbed some duck tape and pulled off a long piece. Nellie watched with wide eyes as he placed it over her mouth.

A lot had happened after that. Things that made her feel like vomiting.

Long story short, Josh raped her.

And because of that, she needed to break up with Blake. For one, she couldn't continue to avoid his apartment building just because of her ex-boyfriend, and she couldn't continue to lie to him. She also couldn't be with him, knowing that he deserved some girl that wasn't broken and bruised. He didn't need to put up with all of her baggage.

Sure, it tore her heart out, but it was for the best.

I told you it would get intense. I know the fight between Klaine seemed a little unrealistic and quick, but I know that if I was in either Kurt or Blaine's shoes, I would do the exact same thing. Please tell me what you think! A lot of things will most likely be figured out in the next chapter!
