Unlocking the Frozen Flame - Chapter 14 - Awake
Natsu x Ur
Natsu goes on a job and finds Ur frozen. So of course Natsu defreezes Ur and helps her heal. Things start to happened and once Ur wakes up.. Ur claims her own private dragon slayer. Gray is beyond pissed and things are starting to happen..
Both mother and daughter were happy. Joy was spread between them and they finished their hug with the shiny white moon over head. With barely any visible clouds, the night was spectacular. But of course there was still one thing nagging at each there hearts, one man.
"Natsu."
Both of them said at the same time as their eyes shined from the drying up tears that had plagued them. Now that they were happy and knew what they wanted, it was time to go see the man who was doing this to them without even saying a word, just his fiery actions. Both Ur and Ultear stopped hugging each other and both took a deep breath.
"I'm glad that's off my chest.." Ultear sighed with relief after finally talking with her mother about the past, present, and now bright future. Their relationship would still be an odd one. However, it would be good and happy. It would be a future that she would have never thought was possible for someone like her.
"Agreed.. it really lets you breathe easier." Ur replied back to Ultear with a giggle and a bright smile. She was excited.. she could stay with the man she had fallen for and still make her daughter happy even though their age was now a mere year apart. It was scary to think that, but at the same time it was exciting.
Both of them stood in a little bit of silence as the critters chirped in the forest behind them as they stood on the dark cliff with a beautiful sight of the moon. The silence was soon stopped as Ur began to move.
"Ultear.. you can stay here if you want to continue gazing at this amazing sight.. but I'm gonna head back. I want to go check up on Natsu." Ur began to say as she saw Ultear still lost in deep thought. She began to worry since her motherly instincts were telling her to head back to see Natsu, a man that was the first and only person to make her warm inside, and enjoy it.
"Hmm.. you've already got a one up on me. So if you think you can get anymore.. you're wrong." Ultear replied with a quick teasing smirk. "I better join you to make sure you're actually checking up on him and not doing anything else." Ultear finished with a slight dash of pink on her cheeks.
"Hey.. I wasn't going to do that much.. just check up on him.." Ur giggled as she began to walk forward with Ultear in the direction of Magnolia that was stretched out behind them. But, as she turned, she could tell her daughter was staring at her cheeks that had gone quite pink as well.
"And..?" Ultear asked her mother with a raised eyebrow.
"And.. fine." Ur quicker muttered with a pout. She had gotten busted so quickly. Of course she wanted to do more.. but that only was possible if he had woken up by now. Even so, she wanted to reward him for his actions even though she wasn't quite sure how. She wanted to repay him for what he had done during the fight for her, her daughter, and her past. With her future now free of her past and open.. she wanted to explore it with the same man that had saved her.
Together they walked happily and silently each with their own thoughts. They were headed back to the Fairy Tail guild to go and see a certain dragon slayer. Of course many things still fluttered about in their minds but a heavy amount of pressure and stress was now lifted off their chests. Now the only thing that worried them was concerning a specific dragon slayer.
"Is he..?" Ultear asked as she walked into the small infirmary room inside Fairy Tail's massive guild hall. As soon as she was inside, she saw her mother looking at Natsu as he laid there motionless. He hadn't even moved an inch from when they last saw him. He was still out cold from the fight he had fought earlier that day. She saw her mother check to make sure Natsu was alright.
"He's fine.. though still resting and recovering.." Ur explained with a low voice, "Honestly we shouldn't have been surprised." She finished saying afterwards and started checking Natsu's bandages. When she noticed that there was no red on them, she sighed and thought that all she was able to do was wait.
"I guess.." Ultear replied back with her own sigh as she leaned back against the wall. She was a tad bit sad that she wouldn't be able to talk to him after she had spoken with her mother. Her heart was beating fast and her heart felt heavy waiting. It was the least she could do since he risked his own life to protect her and her mother.
An awkward silence quickly swooped in and poured into the room. It was so silent that ice could be heard cracking if there was any. Hell, they could hear the voices of drunk Fairy Tail wizards outside doing their normal routines. Luckily they were saved from more silence when the door suddenly opened and two figures came in.
"Oh, is Natsu awake yet?" A women's voice asked as both Ur and Ultear turned towards her.
Both of them saw the two figures and saw who they were. One was the red haired women, Erza, and the second person was Ur's apprentice, Gray. Both of them looked a tad worried and Gray had a tick mark on his forehead. Even though he didn't want to reveal it, he really was worried.
"Hmm? Oh, umm.. no he isn't. He's still sleeping." Ur responded to Erza. She looked back at her and sighed as she explained Natsu's situation while looking at the sleeping dragon slayer.
"Oh I see.. Thank you." Erza responded back to Ur. "I just wanted to make sure that he was alright." Erza then finished explaining herself and her reason to check up on Natsu. In truth she was worried about her fellow comrade and friend. She had known him for such a long time and hadn't see him look that bad after a fight. It truly showed her how much he had fought for the 2 females in front of her and how he protected them with his own magic, and without any help.
With that said, everyone went quiet again. No one chose to speak in the dimly lit room. Another awkward silence loomed since everyone hesitated to speak due to simply not knowing what to say in this situation. Of course, if Natsu was awake, he would know and would turn the situation into a laughing matter.
"It's getting late.. are you two going to stay here or find a place to sleep tonight?" Gray suddenly asked as he saw his teacher and her daughter just waiting around until his rival awoke.
"I was going to stay here for the night.. I don't see a real problem with it.. will there be a problem if I do?" Ur replied back to her student while she thought it over. There was no reason to go back to Natsu's place since it would be quiet and lonely. She also wanted to be with him when he first woke up.
"I see.. alright." Gray repainted back. If his teacher made up her mind, there wasn't a chance at changing it. He still didn't fully understand why she had fallen for the dragon slayer, but it really wasn't his choice or anything he should voice to her. He could only let her be herself. 'Flame brain.. You better wake up soon and see that Ur cares for you a lot more than normal.' Gray thought to himself. His face showed a quick smirk and left the room as his shirt suddenly disappeared.
"Did his.." Ultear muttered as she glanced out the door as Gray left and sighed as she noticed that Gray was somehow now shirt less. 'Ice-Make wizards.. why must they have a stripping habit?' Ultear sighed to herself.
"Well.. I better be going, could you notify me when Natsu wakes up?" Erza asked both Ur and Ultear as she prepared to leave.
"Of course, though, most likely he'll be the one to tell you." Ur quickly answered Erza with a small laugh as she thought about Natsu and how he sometimes acted.
With that being said a soft smile crossed Erza's red lips and she slowly began to leave. Once she got the doorway she looked back at Natsu one more time and then left the silent room to leave her friend sleeping close to the two women he had rescued.
"Tired.." Ultear sighed aloud as she pushed herself away from the blank wall she had been leaning on and walked towards an empty brown chair. As soon as she got there, she collapsed into it and rested her head on the bed that Natsu was asleep on. Her eyes were already drifting downwards. The drowsiness was already infested into her brain as she quietly yawned.
"I guess it's getting late.." Ur slightly chuckled. She watched her daughter sit down and rest. After watching her yawn and right after yawning herself, she glanced over to the window, and saw the moon high up in the sky. It apparently was now late at night and the moon and stars were shining brightly into the dark night. With another yawn, Ur sighed and decided that some rest was needed from the long day. It was good that her past was now behind her, and she could focus on the future. A quick smile crossed her lips as her eyes closed. She slumped over and quickly fell asleep, with her head resting on Natsu's bed like Ultear and her butt still in the chair.
"..."
"Hmm..?" Ur moaned and began to stretch as she heard a male voice say something aloud. Her neck was stiff from the way she had slept the previous night and it felt as if a heater had been placed right next to her body. But for some reason the heater felt comfortable to her and relaxing. It put her mind at ease and made her feel safe. It made her want to curl up and continue sleeping.
She then began to open her eyes as the blurred world around her began to come into focus. The blurry surroundings became clearer and sharper. She blinked once as she saw the person staring straight into her eyes. She blinked again as her mind processed who it was.
"Natsu.." Ur whispered. Her mind didn't understand yet. She didn't recognize that he was awake and looking straight at her; right into her eyes. Her drowsy state made her think it was just a normal day today and nothing was special. Her mind rolled over to think what happened the day before.
Suddenly her eyes shot open from being sleepy as her memories relapsed and suddenly she fully understood. Boreas.. the fight.. Natsu being hurt and sleeping for so long. 'Natsu..' Ur thought to herself as she continued to remember. She now knew exactly why she was in this white infirmary room.
"You're awake.." Ur whispered to Natsu. She grabbed hold of Natsu without even thinking and began to hug him as hard as she could. She was so happy that he was awake and he even seemed well. That was a good sign that he honestly only needed rest to get back to his normal self.
"Yeah.. I woke up a few minutes ago." Natsu explained as he was crushed by Ur's strong arms pulling him into her. He was still a bit fuzzy and couldn't exactly remember what had happened. But he still kinda wanted to know why he was asleep in the infirmary room, what happened, and how he got there.
"Ur.. do you how I got here?" Natsu asked Ur with a small confused look on his face with one eye brow up.
"Mhmm.." Ur hummed with a small shy smile across her closed lips. "But first.." Ur whispered as she moved her arms away from his sides that she was grabbing on to in order to hug him. Her arms reached up and wrapped around his arms as she leaned in and captured his warm soft lips.
Surprisingly he didn't pull away. He stayed with her in the long deep kiss as her heart swelled up with so much pleasure and happiness. Here she was.. kissing Natsu Dragneel. The man that had cracked her ice, saved her not just once, and had stolen her heart so easily. Tears threatened to roll from her eyes as the only issue in the world right now was the lack of air and her face going red.
As they continued to kiss, another female woke up who was on the other side of the bed. In her drowsy state she began to yawn when she looked up and saw the sight. Her mother was holding onto Natsu and kissing him like she was going to die. 'Damn her.. she got the upper hand again!' Was the only thing Ultear could think inside of her head at the moment from the sight in front of her. Honestly she wanted to break up the kiss, but decided not to since she could only be happy that he had woken up.
Natsu still had the white bandages wrapped around his chest to keep his wounds closed and healing. His muscles were still fatigued and sore. For some reason the women that his heart panted a lot around, were so happy to see him. He didn't fully understand why since he was still having issues remembering what had happened. However, he couldn't deny that he didn't enjoy what was happening. Having a very cute girl hold onto him and full on kiss him was nice, even to someone so dense.
"Gah.. need to breath." Suddenly Ur gasped for breath as she was sadly forced to interrupt the passionate kiss that they were having. It felt amazing for her cold ice to mix with his warm fire. Even though their magic were direct opposites, during the kiss she could feel them mixing and becoming something that she wanted more of.
"Natsu.. I'm happy you're ok as well."
Natsu quickly looked over and saw Ur's daughter, Ultear looking at him with a happy yet sheepish look. He could right away see her smile was a real one, not the look on her lips that she always forced herself to have. A true smile that showed her happiness that she rarely ever showed. He could feel another pang in his chest. Her smile looked close to Ur's and made him almost want to fall for her as well.
"Thanks, though what happened? It's still a bit blurry for me." Natsu replied with his regular goof ball smile he had sported so many times. Honestly he really wanted to know, was there a fight? Was everyone safe? Questions flew through his mind that he wanted to ask and make sure his friends and family of Fairy Tail were safe and in no harm. His concern was more evident for the two females he was talking with.
"You really don't remember?" Ur asked with caution. Did something happen that made him forget or was it just that he needed a small reminder to remember what had happened. Still it made her slightly worried about him and made her think that he wasn't fully rested or he hadn't fully recovered.
"No, honestly I don't. It's just a blur to me." Natsu explained as he sat there trying to think of the day before. His muscles stung, he could feel the white cloth wraps hold wounds he didn't remember closed, and he could feel just how little magic he had at the moment. But he could feel his body already recovering and moving along. His memory of the day before was just a large blur.
"I see.. I guess we can explain then." Ur replied back to Natsu. After she began from the beginning about her past. As she talked she saw how Natsu's eyebrow rose and he listened to her story. When she finally said the name of the man that had hurt her, Natsu's eyes widened in shock.
"Ice God Magic.." Natsu suddenly whispered under his breath. It was just high enough for Ur to faintly hear it and a small smile crossed her face.
'Good.. he just needed a small reminder to start remembering.' Ur thought to herself with a happy sigh. It was another thing off her chest as Natsu banished so many things that weighed her down. If Natsu remembered, that was good. It meant he wasn't that hurt. However, being hit that much must have done a little damage. Luckily it seemed he was recovering already if his memories from the day before were already coming back.
"Boreas.. now I remember.." Natsu muttered under his breath as he finally remembered the enemy he had fought and had to go all out on. He had to use every trick he knew and some of his crazy modes that would make him sick towards the end. That also explained one of the reasons why he was in the infirmary. First the damage taken from fighting the ice God slayer and then from his stomach being so upset from using his different modes of magic. Every time he had used magic other than his fire, he always grew sick.
"What happened to him? Did he escape?" Natsu suddenly asked as a rush of memories surfaced and caused a few questions to be thought of. Mainly he was wondering where the man went since he hadn't heard yet.
"No.. Master Makaorv made sure that the Magical Council showed up and arrested him. Hopefully he will be locked away for a long time." Ultear helped explain to Natsu as she herself remembered herself, Ur, Master Makarov, Erza, and Gray grabbing Natsu and leaving Boreas for the Magic Council. Later on, once Natsu was being treated, Master Makarov confirmed for them that Boreas had been picked up, and arrested for being a criminal and freezing parts of Magnolia.
"Good.. he belongs in a cell for what he had done." Natsu sighed with a small smile crossing his face. Now that he awake and remembering who he had fought, he had fully understood what Boreas had done to Ur. He was glad that such a man would be locked up. Those kinds of guys didn't shouldn't be roaming around, they needed to be locked up.
"I agree.. I'm glad as well, finally my past won't haunt me or come looking for me." Ur spoke as she fully agreed with Natsu. As she continued to watch Natsu, her heart rate began to spike as she now grew nervous. It seemed he was ok and only needed rest. Her mind began to think of her feelings and how she wanted to talk to him about them. She slowly bit her lower lip in nervousness as she sighed. 'Why..?' Ur thought to herself, why was she nervous? She had already spent a nice night with Natsu, but now suddenly she hesitated to talk to him.
Ultear's cheeks quickly grew pink when she saw her own mother's cheeks growing red. She had a great suspicion of what she was already thinking about. Now that she had thought about it, it made her think about it as well, and grow nervous.
"Are you two sick..?"
"Huh?!" Ur muttered. For a mere second she had closed her eyes.. now there he was, just an inch away from her. His warm forehead rested against her own as he looked dead straight into her eyes.
"Natsu.." Ultear sighed slightly with a giggle that was rare for her to do. That's one way to get her to speak. She was watching Natsu practically be in her mother's face only because he had thought she was sick. Her cheeks were growing red from her thinking about something entirely different.
"Hmm..? What? I'm just making sure cause both of you are red." Natsu explained as he looked at them with curiosity. He was worried since he always knew if someone gets very red then they might be sick or needed help.
"It's for another reason, don't worry." Ur explained as she watched Natsu slowly back off. Again her heart was still racing, and it felt like it was in her throat. Much like her daughter, she knew both of them needed to talk to the pink haired dragon slayer. Now.. in the quiet room before the Fairy Tail member arrived and started causing a ruckus would be the perfect time to talk to him about something important.
"Natsu.. do you think we can talk for a bit?" Suddenly Ur sighed as she began to speak again in the quiet room with only herself, Ultear, and Natsu in it. She was nervous but she needed to do this, her feelings were racking her body.
Hey, my finals are over and this.. Is the second to last chapter of this story. Might be a future chapter with explanation of the future of what happens after the story.. Will see.
Now my goal is to end this epically.. next chapter I'm writing will be this story as I want to finish this story in 2015.. Hopefully!
