Winter's Coming

Thy Name is Shark

~T.A. 2974, June 25 ~ Aboard the Soaring Dragon

Seagulls cawed above as the men worked quickly to pack the fish they had just caught into the barrels. Jumping, squirming fish did their best trying to get back into the ocean by slipping from inexperienced hands, but those who had been doing the job for a long time and the naturals held a firm grip on them, throwing them in with the other fishes till they died.

"Yeah did ya see Gray the other night?" One of the men asked. He was of average build and had joined when Kagome had.

"Oh yeah he tore into that fish like it was nothing!" One of the younger lads said gnawing at the air as if he were ripping through something.

"I know he reminded me of dragon ripping into its prey! Scared me a little," the other admitted.

The both turned when they heard a scoff, looking at the lanky lad hauling in the morning catch with them. He wore an obscene amount of clothes even in the heat, even when it was obvious he was hot.

But then there were a few like this. Usually the weaker guys who didn't have a lot of muscles.

"Oyy you got sumthin to say," the first man asked, this guy was always quiet that he usually never noticed him. He admireed the guy, for he just seemed to want to work and nothing else...well except mouth off to their superiors, Gray in particular.

"I hardly would equate his eating to that of a dragon. No, not at all," he muttered.

The guy went red in the face, but was cut off from saying anything as a deep voice cut across their conversation.

"Oh and what would you equate it to?"

The two men looked up, immediately gulping at the sight of their intimidating first mate, Gray.

Kagome didn't look up instead threw more fish into a barrel.

"A shark," she said absentmindedly.

"A shark?"

"Yes, it suits him perfectly," then with a sly smirk he glanced up, "Yes from now on thy name is Shark. I believe it is quite fitting for you instead of Gray, what say ye Sir?" He flashed two full rows of perfectly white teeth at him.

Gray seemed to ponder the name for a second.

Kagome was ready to start another verbal battle with him. However was unprepared for him cheesing at her.

"Hmm I like it."
