At ten Sunday morning Buffy said goodbye to Tony before climbing into her car that had been parked for the last three weeks. She started up the engine and was glad to hear it roar to life. Thanks to Brian and Roman the engine in her car was better than when Angel had given it to her. Waving to Tony, Buffy drove off. She had been driving for several hours when she noticed traffic began to slow. It wasn't too long before traffic was at a complete stand still. Buffy put the car in park and began looking for a local news station that could tell her why traffic was so backed up. Finding a station she found out that there was a semi that had overturned and caused at least four cars to crash. The news had said that it would take several hours for them to get the highway open again and people should seek an alternate route. With a sigh Buffy grabbed her purse to get her phone out and dialed the number of Clara Williams. The phone rang twice before Clara answered it.

"Hello Buffy, are you here already?" Clara asked.

"No Clara, and the way it's looking I'm not going to make it there in time for lunch. I'm stuck on I-95. Traffic is at a stand still due to an accident and it looks like it going to take several hours to clean up. I can call you when we're moving again and we can have dinner."

"I thought you were going to have dinner with your Cousin Scott and his friends. Didn't you say they were cooking something special just for you?"

"I did. How about I give you call in a few days and we can set something up for next week. I know Phil won't mind. He'll probably come with me. So I'll call you in a few days."

"That's fine. I'll talk to you then." Clara said before saying goodbye.

Once the phone call to Clara was over Buffy decided to give Scott a call a let him know what was going on.

"Buffy, what's up? Where are you?" Scott asked when he answered the phone.

"Just wanted to let you know there's been a change in plans and I'm driving straight through."

"That's great. So you should be here earlier than expected?"

"Probably not. I'm currently stuck on I-95 between DC and Jersey in stand still traffic. There was an accident involving a semi and some cars. Radio said it could take hours to clean up."

"Call me and let me know when you're on your way." Scott told her.

"I will. I'll see you in a few hours." Buffy disconnected the call and got herself settled for the long wait.

Two hours had passed and Buffy was beginning to regret having that second cup of coffee that morning, as she really needed to pee. She was trying to distract herself by playing a game on her phone. A knock on her passenger window startled her. Buffy looked up to see her cousin Scott standing there a huge grin gracing his face. Buffy unlocks the door so that Scott could get in.

"What a surprise? What are you doing here?" Buffy asked as she reached over to hug her cousin.

"I thought you might like some company for the rest of the drive to the mansion. After I hung up from you I gathered a few of the X-men and we decided to assist in clearing up the accident. They almost had it cleared when I asked Rogue to fly me here. We should start moving again soon." No sooner had the words left his mouth did traffic start moving.

Buffy and Scott talked only stopping at the next exit long enough for Buffy to pee and get something to eat, as she was suddenly ravenous. Buffy filled Scott in on how her trip and about how each visit had gone.

Several hours later Buffy and Scott were arriving at the mansion. Buffy followed Scott's directions and pulled her car into the garage next to his. Once the car was parked they both got out and headed toward the trunk to get Buffy's bags. They each grabbed a suitcase and a carry on.

"I'll show you to your room and let you get settled and then I'll give you the tour of the place before meeting everyone."

"Sounds good." Buffy said as they entered the mansion and headed for the stairs.

As they walked through the corridor passing several people Buffy just gave them a smile. After turning down several hallways Scott stopped in front of a closed door.

"Here we are." Scott said opening the door to allow Buffy to see the room she'll be staying in. "My room is right next door if you need me. Take a few minutes to get yourself settled and then come next door and I'll give you the tour."

Scott shut the door as he left the room. Buffy moved to the top of the bed and laid down on it. The bed wasn't too soft but it wasn't too firm either. It wasn't long before Buffy's eyes began to close and she fell asleep. That was how Scott found her a few minutes later when he came to check on her. Getting a spare blanket Scott covered his cousin with it before leaving the room once again.

Two hours later Buffy woke to the sound of her stomach growling in hunger. Pulling off the blanket, that hadn't been there when she went to sleep, Buffy stood up and stretched. Going into the bathroom she used the facilities, washed up, and made sure her hair looked presentable. Figuring it was probably close to dinnertime Buffy reckoned she better find Scott. Upon leaving her room Buffy knocked on Scott's door to see if he was there. When she got no answer Buffy decided to head toward the kitchen and hope that she'll find him there. After walking down several hallways Buffy found the stairs. Once she was at the bottom, Buffy looked around and decided to head toward the kitchen. She arrived at the kitchen and the smell of the food that was being cooked made her stomach growled loudly. The two people cooking turned at the sound.

"Buffy! It's so good to see you." The red headed female left the stove she was standing by to go hug Buffy.

"It's good to see you too Jean. I was looking for Scott." Buffy said as they hugged.

"He's in the study talking to the Professor. I was just about to you wake you for dinner. Have a seat. Buffy, I want you to meet Remy Lebeau. Remy, this is Scott's cousin Buffy."

"It's nice to meet you Mr. Lebeau." Buffy said offering him her hand to shake.

"It's Remy Chere. Scott failed to mention how beautiful you are." Remy took her hand and kissed he knuckles.

"Remy it is. Is there anything I can help with?" Buffy asked.

"Sure, you can help us carry the food in." Jean said as she handed her the garlic bread and spaghetti noodles.

It took several trips but soon the table was filled with a variety of foods from spaghetti and meatballs, to chicken parmesan, fettuccine alfredo, sausage shrimp jambalaya, and crawdad bisque. Scott and the Professor were the first to enter the dining area. Scott went over to where Buffy was standing by Jean.

"I want to introduce you to the Professor." Scott said wrapping an arm around her and guiding her toward the head of the table.

"Buffy, I want you to meet our benefactor and head of the school Professor Charles. Professor this is my cousin Buffy Summers."

"It's nice to meet you Miss Summers. Scott has been telling us all about you." Xavier said as he shook her hand.

"All good I hope and please call me Buffy."

"Only if you'll call me Charles."

Buffy nodded. The other X-men arrived and began taking their seats. Scott waited until everyone was settled before introducing Buffy.

"Everyone this is my cousin Buffy. Buffy, this Ororo Munroe also known as Storm, Logan also known as Wolverine, Rogue, Bobby Drake also known as Iceman, Henry McCoy also known as Beast, Jubilation Lee or Jubilee, and Remy Lebeau also known as Gambit."

Everyone either said hi or nodded in their direction. Scott had Buffy take the chair beside the Professor and he took the next seat beside her. As soon as she sat down Remy was placing a bowl in front of her.

"Remy made this especially for you. Hope you like it."

Buffy knew she would. She hadn't tasted a crawdad bisque yet that she hadn't like, though she hadn't found one as good as Uncle Jesse's. Buffy spooned up some of the bisque blowing on it before eating it. Buffy had a look of absolute enjoyment on her face.

"How is it Chere?"

"Amazing! Uncle Jesse is the only other person I know that makes crawdad bisque this good."

"Remy is glad you like it."

Remy took his seat between Rogue and Logan and everyone began to fill their plates to eat. Buffy finished her bisque and soon filled her plate with the jambalaya and some fettuccine alfredo. They all talked as they ate and Buffy answered the questions they asked her mostly about her travels. When she finished her food on her plate and refilled it with spaghetti and chicken parmesan several of the X-man wondered where such a small person as Buffy was putting all that food. Another ten minutes had passed and the only people still eating were Logan, Bobby, and Buffy. Jean had brought out cherry pie and a lemon cake for dessert which Buffy had a piece of each.

Buffy had insisted that she help clean up dinner but Jean wouldn't have it and shooed her and Scott out of the kitchen. Jean had insisted that Bobby, Rogue, and Jubilee could handle the dishes. Scott and Jean led Buffy into the den where the rest of the X-men were. Logan and Remy were playing pool. Storm was reading a book. Scott, Jean, and Buffy sat on the couch.

"Did you get enough to eat Buffy?" Jean asked.

"Yes I did. I feel like a pig for eating so much but everything was just so delicious."

"Don't. You were obviously hungry and you are far too skinny." Jean told her.

Over the next few hours Buffy, Scott, and Jean talked about what Buffy would like to do while she was visiting. Scott was going to take her sightseeing one of the days and Jean wanted to take her shopping one of the other days. Once they had their week planned out Jean suggested a movie. They watched an old black and white movie before they headed to bed.

The next morning Buffy was up before most of the mansions residents were up. She went for a run returning an hour later. By then Scott was up and in the kitchen. Buffy gave him a quick greeting before running upstairs to shower. She returned thirty minutes later and breakfast was ready. Once again she took a seat beside Scott and filled her plate up with pancakes and sausage and coffee for her drink. After breakfast Scott gave Buffy the tour of the mansion that they didn't get to the day before. Buffy and Scott were currently in the control room of the Danger room watching a training session that was taking place below. She watched fascinated at how the group worked together using their mutant powers. Her slayer side yearned to join them.

"Come on Buffy, I have one final thing I want to show you." Scott said leading her out of the control room.

Buffy followed wondering what Scott could possibly want to show her in the den. The closer they got the more curious Buffy got. The door to the den was shut and Scott made sure to keep his body in front of Buffy as not to ruin the surprise. Once they were in the den Scott moved out of the way and Buffy got to see what Scott wanted her to see.

"Uncle Chris! What a surprise! What are you doing here?" Buffy said as she ran over to hug her father's brother.

"I'm here to see you of course. You didn't think I would miss the chance to visit one of my favorite nieces. I would have been here yesterday but our last mission ran longer than expected."

Buffy, Scott, and Christopher talked for over an hour and a half. They talked about how Buffy was really doing and why Aunt Hetty had custody of Dawn. Buffy told them about her visits with other Summers family members. Two hours in Jean entered the den to inform them that lunch was ready.

On Monday Scott, Jean, and Christopher took Buffy sightseeing. They took Buffy's car and Buffy let Scott drive. Jean sat in the passenger seat while Buffy and her uncle sat in the back. As Scott drove they told Corsair about all the places they thought about going and asked him if there was anything he wanted to see. He was content with the places they chose. When they arrived in the city, Scott parked the car in an all day parking garage. From there the group walked to the various tourist attractions starting with the Empire State building. After taking the tour, seeing the view from the observation deck, and visiting the gift shop they headed to Rockefeller Center. They walked through the garden, did the Radio City Music Hall tour and the NBC tour, before doing a little shopping. Both Buffy and Jean had bought more items than originally planned which had both Scott and his father Christopher carrying the ladies purchases.

"Why don't we drop this stuff off at the car and then go and get some lunch?" Scott suggested.

"That sounds great. I just realized how hungry I am." Buffy told them.

"Must be all that shopping you did." Christopher teased.

"I didn't do that much shopping." Buffy told him.

"Really!" Christopher said holding up the shopping bags. Buffy pouted which caused the others to laugh.

Scott, Jean, Christopher, and Buffy began walking back toward the parking garage. They took the elevator up to the floor that the car was parked on. They exited the elevator walking toward where they knew they parked the car. They kept walking searching for their parked car.

"I don't remember parking this far down. Are you sure we're on the right floor?" Buffy asked.

"We parked on the third level maybe we're just in the wrong row." Scott told her.

"We'll let's spread out and each take a row." Christopher suggested.

They each took a row and it wasn't long before they had finished their row and moved on to another row. They had searched the whole level with no luck and decided that they must have parked on a different level. Buffy led them down to level two and they began their search all over again.

"I hate to say this but I think your car has been stolen Buffy." Her uncle said after they searched the entire garage.

"I think you're right dad. We'd better call the police." Scott said as he took out his phone.

"Why would anyone want to steal my Sedan? It's not the latest model or even decked out with the latest technology. It barely has a CD player." Buffy told them.

"The police are on their way." Scott told them.

"Who knows why people do what they do." Jean told her.

"Christopher, why don't you and I go and get lunch for everyone while Buffy and Scott wait for the police."

"Sounds good. Anything in particular you two want?" Christopher asked Buffy and Scott.

"Whatever you get is fine with me. What about you Buffy?" Scott asked.

"Same here as long as you bring something with chocolate in it. I have a feeling I'm going to need it."

"Lot's of chocolate. Check." Christopher said as he set the bags he had been carrying down beside Buffy and soon left with Jean.

Buffy, Scott, Jean, and Christopher returned to the mansion by cab after talking to the police. When they arrived at the mansion Scott paid the cabbie while Jean, Christopher, and Buffy grabbed the bags from the trunk.

"You're back earlier than expected." Bobby said when he saw them enter.

"Didn't feel like staying in the city once I found out someone stole my car." Buffy told him.

"Someone stole your car? Did you park it on the street?" Bobby asked.

"No we parked in a parking garage. We were taking the bags to the car and that's how we found out it was gone. Luckily there was nothing in it. All my stuff is here or at Aunt Hetty's."

"That sucks."

"You're telling me." Buffy said as she began heading upstairs to put her bags in her room.

Buffy began going through her purchases seeing what she was going to keep with her and what she was going to send to Aunt Hetty. Once she had everything in two piles Buffy went and changed her clothes to her workout clothes. She had just finished changing when there was a knock on her door and she knew it was Scott.

"It's open." Buffy called out as she sat on the bed to put her sneakers on.

"Hey, I just wanted to make sure you're okay. You seemed really quiet on the ride back." Scott said from his spot by the door.

"I'll admit that I'm pissed that someone took my car and I would really like to beat up on something. Do you think I can get Logan to spar with me?"

"You can ask him. I think he and Remy are smoking in the backyard."

"Let's go." Buffy said getting up and practically dragging Scott out of the room.

Logan had agreed to spar with Buffy and they were in the Danger Room with a crowd of people standing nearby watching which included Scott, Christopher, Jean, Remy, Bobby, Rogue, Jubilee, and Professor Xavier. The match began with the two circling each other and Buffy. Then Buffy made the first move attacking hard and fast. Logan had taken the hit under estimating just how fast Buffy really was. He grinned a bit and the match was truly on. Buffy wasn't holding back and neither was Logan but he made sure not to use his claws. It made for a very entertaining show and more than a few impressed X-men. Their sparring match was finally called to a draw twenty minutes later.

"Thanks Logan, I really needed that." Buffy said as she accepted the towel Scott handed her.

"Any time darling. Anytime." Logan told her also accepting a towel.

"Buffy you were incredible."

"Thank you Uncle Chris. I haven't had a good fight since before Sunnydale became a giant sinkhole."

"Drink this." Jean said handing Buffy a bottle of water.

"Thanks." Buffy said as she unscrewed the lid and proceeded to drink more than half the bottle straight down. "Now if everyone will excuse me I need a shower because after that workout even I can smell how bad I stink."

With that said Buffy left the Danger Room and headed to her room to shower and change.

Over the next several days Buffy's car was found though it had been wrecked and set on fire. Christopher returned to his ship. Buffy, Scott, and Jean finished their sightseeing trip. They went to Central Park, Time Square, and the Statue of Liberty. Buffy picked up more souvenirs for Dawn, and Jean helped her box them up to send. Scott and Buffy met up with Clara Williams one of the afternoons and had lunch with her Eleven Madison Park. On her last full day of visiting with Scott, the X-men took Buffy out to eat and then dancing at a club. On Sunday after eating breakfast she waited anxiously for the time to come for Phil to pick her up.
