~ Sunday Afternoon ~
Having spent the majority of the morning hanging out with Pan, Marron, and Uub, and then accompanying Jason on a date, she was rather exhausted and merely desired nothing more than to crawl into her bed and sleep for the remainder of the day. Seeing as Trunks had departed several days ago in order to be present at a significant business meeting a considerable distance away and Goten, well - according to Pan - refused to tag along, not all of them were able to gather together. Nevertheless, they all had quite the time together, merely catching up and discussing the gist of what has been occurring in their lives. Leisurely pulling into the driveway of her home, the blue-haired woman eased out of her car moments later and trekked her way up to her front door. Seemingly not able to locate her house keys in her purse, she retrieved the spare key from underneath the door rug and proceeded to enter her home, hardly in the house before she began stepping out of her shoes. Immediately feeling relief upon the feeling of the cool carpet beneath her toes, the carbon copy of Bulma released a satisfied sigh.
Wordlessly, she locked the door behind her before making her way towards her couch, pressing a mere button on the answering machine along the way. She had just sat down on the couch when it began to play, the sound of her mother's voice coming as no surprise to her. After all, having knowing her mother for quite a while now, she was already aware of what her mother wanted; a party. Her mother threw parties for just about every occasion that came to mind and practically lunged on the opportunity to do so as soon as it was presented. Bulla had no idea as to why her mother was seemingly so obsessed with them, but then again, perhaps her mother partially did it as a reason to keep everyone in touch with one another. If she had to be honest with herself, that theory sounded plausible, but truthfully, she wasn't in mood for a party.
Better yet, should it occur, she definitely wouldn't look forward to it. Not only would Jason have to accompany her, but she was pretty much certain that Mika would be present as well, seeing as the brown-haired woman was engaged to Goten, the couple due to be married in nine days. Not to mention that she has had just about enough drama, and could seriously do without anything else coming up. From the beginning, luck hardly appeared to be on her side, which, in other words, basically meant that things always seemed to make a turn for the worse - even when things were already worse - and she didn't want to try the little luck that hardly existed in the first place.
Nearly falling out of the couch due to utter disbelief, she could do nothing but stare at the answering machine with wide eyes, as an all-too-familiar voice - the one responsible for literally jolting her out her thoughts - proceeded to speak in a tone Bulla couldn't place:
("Bulla, hey, it's Mika...I know you must be wondering how I got your number; I got it from your mother and I hope you don't mind that I have it," Mika paused for a moment as if struggling with what she had to say next, "but it would really, really, do me some good if we could... meet up. There's something important I have to discuss with you and it can't wait. I'll be at the coffee shop downtown around three if you decide to come.")
Once the message ended, Bulla's expression was one of pure confusion, her eyebrows knitted together as she proceeded to wrack her brain for a logical explanation as to what Mika would want to discuss with her. They hardly interacted with each other and, truth be told, it could hardly be stated that they actually had a true, decent conversation. Could Mika possibly want to talk with her about Goten? That was the only reason she could come up with, having coming up blank when attempting to come up with other reasons. Was it possible that Goten opened up and told Mika the truth about everything? Something such at that couldn't be ruled out completely, after all, she opened up and told Jason the truth about everything and Goten probably wanted her to be aware since the two were going to get married soon. But was that really the case?
From what she could tell, Mika didn't sound angry. In fact, she sounded far from it...as if she was desperate and needed to get something off of her chest or something similar of the sort. The true question was whether or not she was going to meet up with Mika like the girl asked. It wasn't as if she didn't like Mika or anything, because, even if she hated to admit it, Mika was the type of the person that you just couldn't hate. No matter how hard one tried. She just felt as if it'd be rather uncomfortable, and who was to say that she would know what to say should Mika truly wish to discuss Goten?
Torn between going and not going, the demi-Saiyan found herself in an inner conflict. If she did go, it wasn't as if she couldn't just leave if she felt things were getting out of proportion, but then again, did she really want to risk that happening? It wasn't as if they were at a shaky start, but they weren't exactly friends either and should something occur that could damage there barely existing relationship, any further confrontations would be inescapable since Mika would be marrying her brother's best friend. Sighing, Bulla ran a hand through her blue hair before sparring a glance at the nearby clock on the wall.
It was already two fifteen and if she wanted to make it to the coffee shop, then it'd be best to leave now so she could be on time. Deciding to just go and see what Mika wanted to talk about already, the youngest of Vegeta rose to her feet, grabbing the necessary items before departing, mentally praying that she wasn't making yet another mistake.

Blue eyes scanned the small coffee shop upon entering it, and seeing as coffee shops were hardly vast in size, she was easily able to locate her. Heart pounding in her chest, Bulla trekked towards Mika, plastering a smile on her face in attempt to conceal what she was really experiencing at the moment. The closer she seemed to get Mika, the louder her heart seemed to pound and she literally felt as if her heart would leap right out of her chest, but it was far too late to turn back now, especially when Mika, whom was already rising to her feet to greet her, caught sight of her.
"Bulla." Mika greeted with, what Bulla already knew, was a fake smile. She had sported quite the lot of fake smiles plenty of times, so it would make sense that she would be able to recognize one.
"Mika." Bulla greeted back, taking her seat across from Mika, settling her purse in her lap and placing her clasped hands in front of her purse.
Silence - awkward silence - fell upon them instantly, both girls not entirely certain on what to say, or in Mika's case, not certain on how to begin. However, upon suffering from the apparent tension for what Mika deemed as enough, the girl finally spoke, "Bulla, we're both women and I'm going to be blunt here; I know something had or has been transpiring between you and Goten, and I want to know. Please," She pleaded, pausing momentarily, "don't lie to me and state that there's nothing going on because Goten called out your name while we were indulging in a certain activity four days ago."
Bulla eyes widened in shock, her mouth slightly agape for she was visibly rendered speechless by the revelation. Goten called out her name? They both agreed that they were going to move on since it was the best, but apparently, she wasn't the only one having trouble pertaining to following through with the agreement. Granted, her and Jason were back together and he did state that being with her, despite being aware of the love she contained for Goten, was a risk he was willing to take. But, even if that was the case, it just wasn't working out. She knew it wasn't working out...and Jason was just attempting to ignore the inevitable.
"Bulla," Mika began once more, unknowingly snapping Bulla out of her thoughts, "Goten lied to me twice and I know there's no point in going to him when he's just going to lie to me again, so I've decided to come to you. For the past four days, I've been doing nothing but experiencing inner conflict about whether or not to marry Goten, and I can't take it any more. I just can't. I really love Goten... Honestly, I do - How can I not love him after spending four years of my life with him? But I just need to end things once and for all with all of the mental debating and the stressing, and you can help me do that if you be frank with me."
Seemingly finished, Mika awaited Bulla's answer patiently while, on the other hand, Bulla proceeded to think of what to do. If she told Mika everything, then there was a high possibility that her and Goten wouldn't be getting married. Not only that, but if she didn't tell Mika the truth and her and Goten eventually got back together, she knew for certain that it wouldn't work out and it would fail. From what she was hearing, Goten and Mika's relationship was no different than her and Jason's relationship. But what would everyone else think when they found out about Goten and Mika's eventually break-up? How would they feel when they found out that she was the reason for why Goten and Mika weren't working out and that Goten was the reason that her and Jason wasn't working?
The wedding was nearly a week away and everyone was expecting Goten and Mika to get married when, with the way things were going, they wouldn't be getting married at all. Four years of a relationship for nothing, it would seem like. Not to mention that her and Goten were related by marriage, wouldn't that make everything even more worse? What would everyone think of that? And most importantly, how would Goten feel about her telling Mika the truth? Bulla placed a hand to her head, fighting the urge to shake her head at yet another predicament she found herself in. She just couldn't catch a break, could she? It was just one thing after another - just constant problems.
Seriously, there was no point in ordering any coffee because she needed a drink.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity - which was no more than a minute or two - the blue-eyed Saiyan came to a conclusion. Inhaling before exhaling moment later, Bulla looked Mika straight in the eyes and nodded, "Okay. I'll tell you everything you want to know. I'll start from the beginning."
An expression of visible relief crossed Mika's features, the girl releasing the breath of air she hadn't realized she has been holding in. Unfortunately (for Bulla), she didn't feel the same way as Mika did and the young blue-haired woman could only wonder where things would go from here...
A/N: For starters, I just want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and I genuinely hope everyone enjoys them and remain safe in the process. Secondly, if you see any errors or mistakes, please don't hesitate to tell me; I try to avoid those as much as possible but I am human, so a mistake will be made here and there. Third, I want to thank all of the readers and reviewers; I really appreciate the support and kind words. Also, I know I said there was going to be some B/G interaction this chapter, but I had a sudden idea which was Mika seeking Bulla for some answers... However, B/G will definitely happen next chapter. Thanks.
