Alright, this chapter was a challenge to write due to the fact that much of it was based off the events of my cousin. I hope you like it :)

It makes me happy to know you're all still reading this even even though I fell off the face of the planet a while ago. These last couple months have been crazy for me.

I wrote this chapter listening to "Illusion" by VnV Nation .

"Good morning – oops, I mean afternoon," Reika spoke happily as she opened the door to a room that she visited so often that it could be considered a second home for her.

Reika took her seat in the chair that was pressed against the bed, just as she usually did, and turned her head and smiled at the man laying on the bed. "All right, I see the face you're making, but I brought... " Reika turned her head towards the ground, but frowned when she turned her head to the other side and noticed there was no bag with her.

Realization came to her as she remembered dropping the bag full of food when she was kidnapped…by...Law.

Reika's frown turned to a grin as she turned back to her brother. "Oh, never mind. I must have forgotten. I do have exciting news to tell you, but first... " Reika placed her hands on her lap and and watched. Lelouch was just starting to sit up but slipping every time he tried to push him self up. Reika went over and slid her arms under his back, pulling him up into a slightly more comfortable position.

"You could have said you needed help…Lelouch." She pouted at her brother, but he today he seemed more interested in the window on the other side of the bed away from her. Reika's eyes cast downwards, a little upset about the rejection from her brother. This was one of his bad days. He got like this once in a while, to the point where he would even ignore her.

She stared at his hands, which were resting on the outside of the blanket, laying lazily at his sides. One arm was covered with bandages the the other with a makeshift cast. They were bright white, just like the room. "They must have changed your bandages; they look fresh."

She placed her hand lightly on his arm, but Lelouch's hands curled into fists, and Reika immediately dropped it. "Did they change the one on your head?" Reika lifted her gaze to his head.

Lelouch did not answer, so Reika sighed and leaned back against the chair. "Fine. If you don't want to talk to me, I wont tell you my exciting news." Reika closed her eyes in a pout.

After a couples minutes with no reply, Reika opened her eyes and looked at her brother like she did many times, but her eyes always drift to his head. It wasn't because he was bald now. No, you couldn't even tell he was since the bandages wrapped all around his head and under his chin. What would catch anybody's eyes was his head.

One side of his head was normal, but the other...well, it was sunken in. The doctors had to remove a good chunk of his skull to relieve the swelling in his brain.

He was always very unstable, vulnerable just about to everything, and it came with many side effects. But he was her older brother, and she would always be here with him until the end. The doctors always reminded her that "the end" could be any time, but she didn't believe it would be soon. He was still here and everything! "You know, Lelouch, I had a dream of us as kids and all our many adventures….Maybe one day well get to do it again," Reika mumbled quietly.

Days like these were always hard because of the silent treatment he gave. It hurt deep down that she couldn't do anything for him but to just be here. Reika shifted her eyes at the sound of shuffling noises and noticed that Lelouch moved to face her, his piercing amber eyes staring back at amber.

Reika's frown turned into a smile. "Oh, Lelouch, I knew you would come around. I should order food for you since I forgot and you need to eat. I swear, you've been getting skinny since you haven't been moving much. Let me guess, you want fish, your favorite, Lelouch?" Reika stood from her chair to head to the door so she could call one of the nurses to fetch him food.

"Tch…."

Reika let herself grin when she heard her brother snicker just like the old Lelouch. "Oh, I knew you would come around, Lelou-"

"Who is this Lelouch? "

Reika whirled around to look at him. She wasn't sure how to respond to such a question. "Hey, stupid girl. Do you normal go into patients' rooms and babble like you know somebody? Idiot."

Reika felt something break down in the core of her being, and every time she tried to talk, her throat was grew more raspy and more dry. She tried swallowing to clear her pipes, but it only made it worse, and tears started to form around her eyes. "W-what do you m-mean..?" she spoke shakily, but Lelouch's eyes hardened, a look he never gave her before. "S-stop looking a-at me l-like I'm a stranger," her cracked voice managed to get out.

"Hahahaha, you look so silly, girl. Go ahead, cry. You're the stupid one. Stop acting like you know me."

Tears slowly started to roll down Reika's cheeks. She clenched her hands into fist. "I DO know you! You're my brother, your name is Lelouch," she spoke harshly back at him.

But Lelouch continued to stare at her with that dreadful look. "I think you need to leave…."

But Reika stood her ground towards him. She wouldn't let him win.

Too bad it only caused Lelouch to grow louder. "GET OUT!" he shouted, waving his arm at her. Reika reached out to him, trying to calm him down, but all she did was end up crying more. "My name is Reika, I'm your sister…" she whispered as she took a step towards him, but Lelouch only grew louder and louder.

"I don't care who you are, get out!" He raised his fist like he was going to hit her but Reika kept taking faltering steps towards him. "You wanted to get a boat and travel the world and I was supposed to come with you." Reika stretched out her arm.

"Please, Lelouch..." she wailed at him.

Now within arms reach, Lelouch grabbed a hold of her arm and pulled her towards him. He started hitting her wherever he could, repeating the same words over and over again.

get out

get out

get out

get out.

Reika continued to cry, but something dark and cruel snapped inside of her. Everything she had gone through up to this point in life spilled over all at once. Living off the streets; being adopted into a family which gratefully paid for Lelouch's bills; working nights to pay back the money; seeing Lelouch like this every day, thinking her enter life as a child was destroyed; years thinking that they were the only ones who made it off of the island alive.

Reika lifted her head and shoved her brother away from her. "I HATE YOU!" She took a giant step back and placed her hand on her cheek from where he had hit her the most. "I hate you….Just hurry up and die!" she shouted at him as loud as she could.

Reika wiped the tears to ease them, but only caused more to fall.

Reika quickly ran to the door and slammed it shut behind her. She ignored the nurses and doctors asking her question as he ran down the hallway.

She didn't wait to her what the lady at the front desk said. Reika just kept running and wouldn't stop until her legs completely gave out on her. She slipped and smack her knee hard against the ground, causing her to yelp and hold onto her knee, all of which caused new tears to form around her eyes. Everything seemed to be a blurry. She had no idea where she was now or any idea what time it was. "Why…Why…?" she choked out the words through her pain.

Rolling on her side, Reika stared at the sky as it faded to red and pink. How could such pretty colors shine brightly when her whole world had just gone dark? It was like the sky was mocking her. Reika gripped the grass tightly, pulling it out of the ground. Finally, she shut her eyes tightly against the light. Reika felt so drained and tired that she fell into a deep slumber right in the middle of the field.
