Hello everyone, it has been a while.
Few things first.
I am happy to hear you people enjoy this. But you need to realise a few things.
I am in college. Even if I want to write, I don't have the time. So you guys will just have to trust me that when I say I plan to finish it, I really plan on finishing it. But I don't want to rush it because that would just hurt the story. I did that the last time there was a long break and all I got back for rushing was people being pissed. So yeah. Taking my time.
Understand, I don't want to make anyone angry. It is just.
I am only human. I can only do so many things in my day. And my study goes before free time writing.
Sorry.
But hope you enjoy the new chapter.
Ps. About the whole "Angel's brother"-thing people asked about a few chapters back. I did not make that up. She has a brother. I remembered that and did check it.
Blue eyes followed the slightly waving fruits in the tree. Monkeys' were getting their own food. The shooter didn't want to hurt the wildlife and waited to make sure his arrow would hit it's mark.
Mikey had been collecting some fruits to trade for the information he needed.
He needs the information on the first coming shipment to New York. He had decided to finally return home.
Mikey smiles as the monkeys moved away and he shot his arrow.
The arrow flow through the air and hit just above the fruit. It started to fall and Mikey run towards it to catch it.
With fruit in hand he walked back to his small collection of fruits.
Mikey smiled at his collection, this was more than enough to trade for the information he needed. He quickly picked it up and started to move towards the nearest city.
Klunk jumped out of the bushes and looked at Mikey with question. The turtle smiled and petted the liger.
"Don't worry Klunkie. I am just going to get some information. I will be fine and back soon." Mikey signalled towards the village and Klunk took off to wait there.
The blued eyed ninja picked up the fruits and set off again.
The jungle had been amazing. It had proved to be just what he expected. But nothing like his home.
.~,~.
It didn't take the young ninja too long to reach the city he had been aiming for. It was more of a small fishers an traders town than city but it had what Mikey needed.
He stayed near the side and put up his cap and quickly hid his hands. After checking himself over once more he entered the small market place and took a seat nearby with his collection of food.
At this market people could pick to either trade or just pay. Seeing as many people around just didn't have enough lose money to pay for what they needed. Big companies having made it more difficult for the small fisher-village to flourish. But the people here were strong and didn't let that stop them. They worked together and made sure to survive. This was the reason they brought trading back. None of the big companies wanted to buy their wares no matter for what price. Instead they decided to just go back to equal trading. And if you had nothing you could trade for favours.
Mikey had brought food from deep in the forest in hope of getting someone to come to him, even with him dressed the way he was. He had been here a few times before and knew that food, and especially sweet fruits, were perfect for getting people to show interest. Even when his speaking was still broken in their language they were willing to listen if it got them closer to the fruits.
A kid looked at the food wishfully and got closer slowly.
Mikey gave a small wave.
The young boy took a deep breath and spoke.
"How much?"
Mikey smiled, this kid was to the point. Perfect.
"I need information" Mikey spoke slowly, knowing he still hadn't perfected this language just yet. "Shipments to New York. Times, dates."
The boy suddenly looked hopeful and then at the fruit.
"I get information and you give me a fruit?" The boy asked.
Mikey smiled and nodded.
The boy ran off to gather the information. Mikey just sat there and waited.
.~,~.
It didn't take too long before the kid returned. A few papers in hands as he run over and showed it off. Before Mikey could even take the papers the boy started to talk.
"This is what I could find. It was the times of when some cargo was meant to leave up but I can't read it all so I just took all of the papers I could find. But I did hear someone use that 'New York' name you said and they pointed at this paper." The boy showed a newspaper "And so I grabbed one of those as well."
Mikey smile and happily took the papers while the boy looked at the fruits to pick something out that he liked as his payment. Mikey quickly looked it all over and smiled, this would be more than enough to let him make a plan to go home.
"Good job kid. Enjoy your payment." Mikey grinned as the boy looked shocked.
"All of it?" Mikey just nodded and left the collection of fruit with the kid as he made his way back into the forest.
As Mikey walked back he looked at the lists of dates and times of shipments. Seemed like there will be a few ships going upwards soon which he could probably sneak on board and go back home. It wouldn't take a lot longer than three weeks if he remembered correctly. He would just need to pack up enough food. He saw a few shipments by airplane but those are normally guarded more strictly and while it would get him home sooner it would be more dangerous.
Mikey skimped though the papers as he noticed a name he hadn't hoped he would see again. Oroku Saki.
The turtle stopped in the middle of the jungle as he started at the name. his heart pounding and remembering the attack that almost took his life years ago. He pulled the paper on top of his other papers and looked at the title and took a deep breath as he read it.
"Oroku Saki levanta contra os mutantes! Herói ou inimigo?"
Mikey stared at the words as he slowly but surely managed to decipher them. 'Oroku Saki Raises against the mutants! Hero or enemy?' Mikey gulped as he read the word mutants… Where his brothers? Or father… Mikey quickly read the article as best as he could. The article spoke about the genius business titan who had worked his way up in the world. A bit about the difficult past that Saki spoke about. Mikey rolled his eyes at that and skipped that part. The article spoke about how Saki expressed his concern about the strange creatures walking their world and how they were dangerous. He spoke about wanting to protect what was dear to him and help clean this world of that scum.
The young turtle could feel himself starting to hyperventilate. Shredder never did this before. He always left the small mutant family to do their thing unless they moved against his aims. But never, never! They got the normal people involved. Saki to afraid that his own illegal activities came to light…
Mikey sat down on the ground.
How had this happened? When did he get this powerful that the world news was interested enough in him? Was listening to him? The only ones who used to follow him were the foot before right? Well them and the purple dragons…
Mikey frowned as he thought back to his time with Angel. The Red Snakes. Mikey thought they were connected to the Purple Dragons.
Did Saki have more of those groups? All around the globe? When had he made this-
Mikey shook his head.
It didn't matter.
He jumped up. He felt more sure than ever before.
He needs to get home. He needs to save his family.
.~,~.
He had never run this fast in his live before. The way back to the village was long but he had memorised it by now. Which worked out because it gave him time read the times of the shipments. He suddenly realised that he wasn't sure which day it was. He quickly looked back at the newspaper and checked the date.
31/07/16
Mikey stopped on the spot and stared in shock.
He had left in the early summer of 2013. He had been gone for three years. He was nineteen now. How had he not noticed?
Michelangelo entered the village still shaken.
Klunk appeared next to her turtle and nuzzles his hands. Noticing his panic.
"We are leaving Klunk. We have little time." Klunk seemed confused but followed her owner as the ninja got his items gathered and packed quickly.
The Elder was watching the young turtle. Mikey noticed the others presence and looked around.
"What happened young one?" The old man didn't ask what the other was doing, he knew what he was doing. He just asked what had happened to upset him.
The turtle was just holding in his tears as he tried to explain but instead just gave the article to the other.
The Elder only needed to look once before he nodded in understanding. He calmly walked over and took the bag out of the shaking green hands. The old man unpacked it before packing it more effectively making it less of a struggle.
"We are going to set together first. We will drink one last cup of tea as you look though the times to pick the best route home." The Elder stopped Mikey from objecting "I understand your need to go home. However, you won't be able to help your family if you don't get there safely."
Mikey sat down on the ground.
The elder smiled softly and put a hand on the turtle's shoulder "Let us go to my hut. We will look at your lists and get what you need for your coming battle."
Mikey nodded as he stood up and followed the elder. His liger close behind him
.~,~.
"That piece of shit!" a cup flew thought the living room against an old beat-up television that showed Oroku Saki in an interview as he explained his reasoning behind his movement against mutants.
Kala just sat there in shock as her brother raved and cursed out the business man on screen. Kala however didn't feel angry, she just felt afraid. What about Mikey's family? He loved them more than anything in this world. and this monster, whom dared to call himself human, was going to hunt them down. All of them to hurt them.
Dask walked over to his younger brother and put a hand on his shoulder. "Calm down Zak. This isn't working nor helping"
Zak shrugged the hand off and glared at his brother "So what do we do?! Hide and do nothing?! That monster isn't going to stop there! He will destroy everyone who doesn't follow him! This is a tiran and dictator in the making and people are too stupid to see and-"
Dask nudged Zak and nods at where Kala was sitting. Just staring at the screen in shock. Zak grew quiet and walked over.
"Sis? It is okay, well not really but-"
Kala interrupted her brother "I want to go there."
Both brothers turned to her.
Kala was still staring at the screen "I want to go there… Mikey is… Mikey is in Brazil. He won't get there in time when that monster finds his family. We can maybe get there in time. We could safe them." Kala looked at her brothers "I want to take that chance. No matter the risk."
Zak just smiled and hugged his little sister "Well, who can argue with that?"
Kala looked up at her brother.
"Luckily these months are calm for us. We will get the truck ready and leave this evening." Dask smiled at his sister and brother "Friends help friends. No matter what."
Kala jumped off the couch and hugged her eldest brother.
Zak turned off the television and turned to the kitchen. Time to get ready.
.~,~.
Brown eyes glared at the newspaper as the news played the same news over and over again.
She just managed to keep in a growl as she tried to control her temper.
The kitchen door opened as Ryan walked out. She could feel her brother's eyes on her.
She took a few deep breaths and turned "Hi bro."
"Angel. I know you. What is wrong?" Of course Ryan would be able to look though her as always.
Angel took a deep breath "Remember… back with the Red Snakes?"
Ryan huffed at that.
"Right, of course you remember. You were in one of those cages. Anyway. You remember that I wasn't alone?" Angel looked at her brother "That this friend was with me?"
Ryan nodded "Of course. You told me he also helped you stop meeting with that gang."
"True. Anyway. He…" Angel struggled to find the right words "He is different. But nice. And he has family, who are also different, who live in New York and… and…"
Ryan seemed to get the picture and hugged his little sister. "Maybe it is time you go to those friends of yours. The Justice something?" Angel looked at her brother shocked.
"But I thought you hated me meeting them. Too dangerous?" Ryan smiled at his little sisters words and nods before he spoke himself "I do still believe that. However. He saved me. And you were going to go either way. Just stay save."
Angel smiles and hugs her brother before running off to the Justice League headquarters. The second she entered she ran straight to Nobody. He would help her.
Angel explained what she could though gasps as he quickly got her Bandana Girl stuff and put it in a bag. She was already on her way out. Planning on taking the train when Nobody stopped her.
Angel glared at the older male "You can not stop me. I WILL help Mikey's family just like he helped mine."
Nobody smiled and just put something in her hand.
"This will be faster." And with that he left.
Angel looked in her hand and found the Nobody's Motor-cycle keys.
The young woman grinned as she run to the garage and unlocked the bike. She started it and left the headquarters. Knowing that the Justice League would finish the smaller branches while she went to help Mikey's family with the main roots.
.~,~.
Another knife hits the middle of the Saki picture on the wall.
Blue eyes glared at the picture and another knife went flying.
"Mutants are dangerous. I will show you dangerous you twat." And another knife goes flying but misses the picture.
The young male sits down as he looks over the circus grounds.
He couldn't stay here. Mikey would be already getting on his way back to help his family. The Turtle would have been on his way to Zach if he had been in danger. Zach knew this because Mikey and his brothers were heroes. It is what they do. Help others no matter how dangerous it is.
Zach walks over to the picture and starts ripping the knives out. He is almost at his stop anyway.
It had taken a lot of begging and lying but the circus, his family, were allowing him to travel on his own. He asked them if he could take a break and look around the country on his own. It took some good lying on his part to make them believe it wasn't anything dangerous.
He couldn't tell them he was going to New York to fight beside heroes to end the Tiran Shredder before he could take over the world. If he did his family would freak out and lock him up and then how was he supposed to help his friend as the Fifth Turtle?
So he lied a bit, big deal.
What was important was that he was going to do the right thing.
The carts stopped and Zach quickly picked up his backpack and left the cart. He said his goodbyes ones more and left the cart behind. He knew the schedule and would easily find them again after he helped Mikey.
.~,~.
Maybe he should have stepped out later.
Walking to New York had been a bad idea.
Zach held up his thumb in hope of getting a lift but no car stopped. The young adult sighed as he continued walking next to the freeway. This was to slow. He needed a faster way to New York!
He heard the noise of a motorcycle and held up his thumb for it. Not really expecting whoever they were to stop but he tried anyway.
Surprisingly, he heard the motorcycle slow down and saw it stop in front of him.
He stared with mouth open at the motorcycle. It looke amazing. Like it had just come out of a comic book.
"Thanks. You do know it is dangerous walking by the freeway right?" A girl voice suddenly spoke.
Had he said that out loud?
A amused laugh "Yes you are. Back to the fact that you are bringing yourself and others in danger by walking here."
Zach stared as the young woman pulled of the helmet and looked at him unimpressed.
"Sorry." Zach started "But I am looking for a ride to New York"
The girl raised an eyebrow as she looked Zach up and down "And why are you going there?"
"Euh…" he hadn't thought about that. What could he say? "I am visiting friends." That was kinda true.
The girl looked him in the eyes and snorted "You are a bad liar." She looked up up and down again and studied his backpack "Where are you from?"
Zach felt embarrassed at having been caught and muttered the truth that he was from the circus.
The girl hummed in thought as she asked which circus.
After some consideration he decided to tell the truth "Le Cirque des Rêves"
The woman looked interested "Really? What did you do? Did you work for the acrobatics?" She looked at Zach and tilted her head slightly "Nah. Maybe more of a clown?"
Zach glared at the other "I could be one of the acrobats! But no. I take care of the animals."
"Awesome. I love animals. What kind did you take care of?" The Woman sounded truly interested. Who knew that he could get a lift by talking about the circus.
"We have all kinds of animals really. Our main act until shortly ago was our tiger Ruby." Zach smiled at the old tiger "She is wicked smart and could do everything without a problem. She was able to learn anything."
"You keep saying 'was' did something happen to her?" She sounded truly worried.
Zach waved the worry off "No! she is okay. Just old. She is going to move to a zoo to live out the rest of her life. Her son is going to take over. But he is a bit more stubborn. That is probably his father's side."
The woman smiled and nodded "That is good. And how do you know for sure? Was the father not from you guys too?"
"Not really. The lion was from another circus." Zach looked sheepish "We made the fault of leaving the two in one cage for one night because we were short on them."
The woman laughed and nodded "Animals tend to do whatever they want Zach. It was to be expected"
Zach laughed before the meaning of that sentence hit him "How do you know my name?!" The question sounded more like a demand then a question.
"Oh don't throw a hissy-fit. We have a mutual friend." The woman was very relaxed as she held out her hand "The name is Angel. I am going to New York to help Mikey."
Zach stared in shock but shook the woman's hand "Zach, but you know that… how did you?"
"Mikey told me about all of his and Klunk's friends." Angel commented as she stepped off the motorcycle and opened the seat. Out it she grabbed another helmet and put Zach's stuff in.
"Put this on. This conversation costed me more time than I wanted to spend. We will need to drive fast to make up for it." She threw the helmet at the circus boy. Zach caught it and did as order.
"Thank you" Zach run over and climbed up behind Angel on the motorcycle.
He could hear the grin in Angel's smile behind her own helmet "Don't thank me yet until we get to New York safely."
At their next break they got some food and ate by the motorcycle.
"How did you even get this ride?" Zach asked with awe as he looked at the motorcycle.
Angel smiled "I borrowed it from a friend. He knows Mikey too and wanted to help but had work" She rolled her eyes "But this is something."
Zach just nodded as he looked at the motorcycle.
Angel laughed "Come. You can droll over it later. But we need to continue going." Zach nodded and jumped back on with her. Angel turned on the monster of a motorcycle on and they continued their path to the city that never sleeps.
