A/N: I don't own TMNT.

I'm not very good at fight scenes, but I tried my best. Hope you like it!

I'm adding another character to the story... let's see how it goes!

*Don't be surprised if some things in here don't match up with the '12 verse.

Leo nodded to the others. "Now," he said, his voice barely a whisper.

On cue, everyone reached for their face masks to protect themselves as Donnie grabbed a vial of a thick, cloudy, green substance. He was wearing thicker, gray gloves for protection. The purple clad turtle quietly walked forward toward Shredder's direction, and in a quick, swift motion, uncapped the vial and ran back to the team.

The Shredder sniffed something unusual in the air. "What is this scent?" he growled.

Suddenly, it hit him. "Poision gas?"

His prediction was deemed correct as the gas engulfed his lungs. The Shredder choked and coughed as it traveled into his body, falling to his knees, visibly weakened in a short span of time.

While the Shredder suffered, everyone but Leo and Raph went to the room the Shredder had previously been in, presumably the Shredder's room, to disarm any security and emergency systems that were left.

"Let's end this," Leo said.

Raph rubbed his hands together, his eyes gleaming, his mouth turned up in a smirk. "Time to kick some Foot butt!"

The brothers drew out their weapons, ready to kill their number one archenemy. Ready to end the life of the one who'd hurt them so much. The one who'd hurt Leo during the Invasion... the one who'd killed their father, their beloved Master Splinter... the one who was hurting Leo so bad. Seeing Leo's emotional pain from the aftermath of hurting his brothers was worse than the pain his eldest brother had actually given him...

...They were at April's apartment. A sudden crash startled them as something fell inside through the window. "LEO!"...

Raph shook his head to clear his head from the memory, only to have another one thrown back at him.

...They returned to the sewers after many months following the Invasion. They found a brown, furry, lifeless body. It was Master Splinter, dead...

Raph shook his head fiercely. The memory stopped.

His mind was clear for a few seconds, before another one emerged.

...He saw that Leo's eyes were red. He saw Leo bring down his katana, ready to kill him... but thanks to quick reflexes, his shoulder was hit instead. Then he saw the leader's eyes turn back to their dark blue, filled with anguish, guilt, and sorrow...

Raph growled out of anger.

It was time to get revenge.

He let out his little brother's battlecry, "BOOYAKASHA!" and ran towards the still fallen Shredder, his sais poised and ready to beat the life outta the stinkin' bastard -

- only to be met with a clash. The hothead looked up and saw Leo's double katanas, preventing him from lashing out at the enemy.

"What the shell, Leo?" he asked, utterly confused and, of course, mad.

It was only when he looked up did he see that his eldest brother's normally clear, midnight blue eyes were glossed over...

"Is that it?" Mikey asked his immediate older brother. They had taken out at least fifty gazillion cameras and security devices by now, many of them shaped like feet. That wasn't surprising, considering they were in the Foot Headquarters... but wow! The turtles certainly didn't have this many cameras and fancy equipment at their lair. Maybe he could give Donnie ideas on how to upgrade their lair to make it better, but also wayyyy cooler -

"I'm not sure. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more security devices hidden somewhere," the genius turtle replied, cutting off Mikey's thoughts. "I did leave on the security cameras around this place, though, so if someone does come here, we're prepared."

"So... now what?" April asked, tucking a loose strand of her bright red hair behind her ear. "Should we stay here and keep watch, or go help Leo and Raph?"

Donnie looked up into her beautiful bright blue eyes. He opened his mouth to speak, but was too dazzled by her beauty - like always - to reply right away. "Uh... um..." he stammered. "I - I think you and I should stay here while Mikey and Casey go help Leo and Raph. They are better at fighting among the four of us."

April did something that looked like a frown, and Donnie felt himself blush, instantly regretting what he'd just said. "I- I mean, it's not that I think you're bad at fighting, you're a great kunoichi! I just think - "

"No, no, it's fine, Donnie. I understand what you mean. We should stay here just in case," April quickly covered his slip of tongue, to which Donnie was grateful for. Whether it was intentional or not, he wasn't sure. But that didn't matter.

"Sweet! What are we waiting for?" Casey asked, picking up his sports equipment. He and Mikey ran out of the room, both of them yelling, "BOOYAKASHA!"

Oh, shell.

"Leo?" Raph tried to bring his brother back. But the leader's eyes remained glossed over.

"Why would you want to hurt the Shredder? He has helped me so much. He made me stronger than I could ever be before," Leo said in an almost robotic voice. "He's my master."

Raph's eyes widened in shock. "What? What the shell are you talking about? This is the Shredder we're talking about, Leo! You know, the one who made you hurt us?"

Leo's eyes seemed to go back to their original, unclouded state for a couple seconds. But then the fogginess returned.

"Maybe because you deserve to be hurt," the blue clad turtle spat in a voice dipped with hatred and venom. A voice that definitely wasn't his.

Raph stumbled backwards, gasping in shock. "Leo...?"

This wasn't his brother.

"Listen, Fearless, we all know what's goin' on with ya. You gotta fight the demon within you. Don't let Dark Leo control you. I'm your brother. You can't hurt me."

Leo laughed menacingly, a laugh filled with more poisonous venom than before. "That's what you think, Raphael," he said threateningly.

Raph looked up into Leo's eyes and gasped again. Leo's eyes weren't just glossed over anymore... they were black, darker than the night sky.

Just then, they heard footsteps as two more people entered the room. Both Raph and Leo whipped around to see Mikey and Casey ready to fight, weapons in hands.

The two looked over the scene. "Uh, guys, why is the Shredder still alive?" Mikey asked, bewildered. "And why are you guys fighting?"

Raph turned back to Leo, surprised to see that his sais were still being blocked by Leo's katanas. He drew his weapons back and charged towards the Shredder. He hurriedly brought his weapons back, then thrust them forward, ready to stab the enemy -

"Donnie, is that someone coming towards the guys?" April asked, pointing to one of the computer screens in the Shredder's room. She and Donnie had been planning their next move (and chatting), but a sudden movement on the screen had caught her eye.

Donnie bent forward, peering at the screen. "Huh... yes, it does. It's dark, like it's all black..."

The purple clad turtle took a sharp breath. "Oh no."

"What is it?" April asked, suddenly frightened by Donnie's change of mood from peaceful to scared.

"It's Karai."

- he had expected a clash of metal to intercept his sais, but instead, was met with what he wanted: flesh.

He'd hit his target: the dark, evil heart of the Shredder.

The Shredder cried out in agonizing pain for a few seconds... then everything stopped and crumpled to the ground, lifeless.

"Is that- is he..." Mikey stuttered. Raph only nodded in response.

They all turned to Leo, waiting for him to turn to normal. His black eyes slowly morphed into their familiar indigo hue.

"What happened? Are you all okay? Did I hurt you?"

The reality of what had just occurred and the sudden bombardment of questions left Raph stunned. He could only blink for a few seconds before he regained his composure.

"No, you didn't hurt us. We're fine. All that happened is that the Shredder's gone and there's nothing else to worry about," Raph assured his fearless leader.

Leo proceeded to open his mouth and reply, but was interrupted by his second to youngest brother.

"Guys! Karai's coming! We need to leave, now!" Donnie yelled. At his heels was April, already fumbling to get the keys to their van.

The others rushed to hide the Shredder's body down a mysterious, dark hallway, before running to the van.

They had done it.

They had killed the Shredder and Dark Leo.

Karai knew something was wrong when a booby trap near her father's room was triggered.

She looked at the security cameras, but nothing came up except for an error message.

"That's weird..." she muttered to herself. She decided to check the area, just to make sure the Shredder was okay.

But when she went there, he wasn't there...

The team was quiet on the ride home.

It was Leo who broke the silence. "Thanks, guys. I don't know what I'd do without you..." Tears gathered into his eyes. He tried to stop them - he couldn't let his brothers see him cry - but they were too strong, and fell.

"It's okay, Leo," Raph assured him, putting a comforting arm around his shoulder.

"No, it's not," the leader whispered. "I hurt you..."

"But Mikey and I are healed now," Raph said simply. "Listen, Leo, what you did wasn't your fault. The Shredder controlled you using your dark side, which gave us another reason to kill him." The red clad shifted, forcing his eldest brother to face him. "Leo," he said softly, "don't let the past haunt you. What's done is done. Now, we look to the future."

Leo smiled, comforted by his brother's words, but couldn't help but add, "That sounds like something Master Splinter would say."

Raph smirked and pulled Leo into an unexpected hug.

Mikey, of course, joined in, yelling, "GROUP HUG!"

The team was squeezed together in a tight but sweet hug.

Leo couldn't help but smile. Thanks, guys.

He knew everything would be okay.

At least, as okay as life can be for a teenage mutant ninja turtle.

A/N: The end! :)

Woah! That was my longest chapter ever!

I really hope you liked this story! This is probably my last multi-chapter story. I don't think I'll be able to write more with school and everything. But don't be sad, I will probably come back with one-shots!

Remember to review and favorite! Special thanks to DifaniSani and No Guns Only Roses for your continued support! I don't know what I'd do without you guys! If you haven't read their stories yet, go read them NOW... they are lit! ;)

In case what you're wondering about what happens with Karai (who's unmutated in this story)... it's a mystery. You'll never know if she finds out what happens to her father or not. But I'm sure she has her suspects.

Thank you so much for sticking with me!

9/22/17: Want more? Check out They Call It Revenge! It's a sequel to this story!
