Chapter 14
I look over my shoulder slightly, I see everyone staring at me. Stiles is being held up by Scott because he is still worn out and weak. I only healed the injury, not the fatigue. I look back to where my Goddess walked. I feel the gust of wind from her leaving; it blows against my face with a cool and refreshing feeling. I feel whole again. I don't feel empty as much, I feel every emotion now but I can't let them get the best of me. I have to be strong still and trust my gut as I did before. I walk toward my friends with a new confidence in my walk. I hold myself higher and prouder of who and what I am.
"Who was that?" asks Scott. I cast a smile over at him.
"Airwin. My Goddess. My mother."
Everyone but Cala stares at me. They don't know the pain and suffering I have gone through. How I have fought to stick to my morals, especially when times were low. I look around at them all; Stiles, Scott, Alison, Cala, Chris, Derek, Isaac, and Tyler. They watch me as I stand here.
"You all notice something different, don't you?" I ask. I look around t them again and they all nod.
"It's back, isn't it?" asks Cala. I smile over at her, Isaac holds her hand at her side. I look at him with approval. I know he will try to protect her to his abilities.
"It is Cala. She fought for me. I can't believe she heard my prayers." I tell her. The rest of them do not know how important this is or even what has just happened.
"What's back Aiden?" asks Alison curiously.
"What was taken from me decades ago." I snap my fingers and a flame appears. It takes none of my energy anymore, none of my body heat. "I have my soul back." I watch the flame flicker on my thumb. It flickers in the wind. I blow it out and glance back at them all.
"You're soul?" asks Derek. "How is that possible?" I know what he means.
"Because I was innocent. I never committed the crime and I held onto that. I held onto my true innocence and that is what kept me stable. AS well as the task I had been given." I hold my hand out to Cala. She grasp my hand. "I am her guardian and it is my responsibility to protect her. She is the only shifter left on Earth. The only true shifter that is a witch at least. There are others," I look at Chris, "Who are not as true as Cala. You have met one before." He nods.
"The one with orange eyes. We've met before."
"Michael is his name. But that is another story, for another time. I have my soul back and," I stutter on my words. I don't know what to say. What can I say? I let go of Cala's hand and suddenly feel nothing. You will feel this often Lave, this is part of your soul returning and you feeling whole again. It will take time to be back to normal. I hear Airwin say. I look over at Derek and Tyler. Tyler is watching me and I don't want him here. I need to be with other people. "Tyler. Leave. I'll call on you soon, but for now," I point toward the party, "leave." Tyler obeys without any objection. I stare off toward the lights. The Party. I look over at Alison and she knows what I am thinking.
"Aiden." She says. We stare at each other. Then we start to run. We run through the snow and tree branches. I snap my fingers and a wind gives us more speed as we run. I hear the rest behind us, no doubt Scott and Stiles are together. I run though, I run with Alison to Lydia. HE wouldn't. HE would never stoop to kidnapping the Banshee. Even for the Court that is forbidden. The Gaelic God and Goddess watch over her and can kill with a single wave of their hand. WE reach the porch and I jump up to it and land on my feet. Cala is by my side as Alison runs to the front door. I open the glass door and look around for anyone. I push through people and drunken hook-ups. I see red hair and rush over it.
I see her pale skin and long red hair and I breathe softly. Lydia looks around and smiles.
"There you are! Where have you guys been?" I embrace her and kiss her cheek. I pull back look behind to see Scott, Alison, Cala, Isaac, and Stiles. Stiles walks over to me but I look back at Lydia.
"Lydia. It's back." I tell her. She frowns at first, confused. Then I see her read into it and she gasps.
"No!" She exclaims. I nod with a smile.
"Airwin, she fought for me. She fought hard for it to return to me. I'm whole again…" I trail off, remember what she said. I shake my head, not wanting to let them know that part. "My powers and soul, back where they belong." I try to say cheerfully. Lydia watches me, she can sense something is up but lets it go and embraces me.
"Well, I guess we have a reason to celebrate now!" She says. She looks at me and mouths later. I nod at her. She purses her lips and grabs Alison. "You my dear, need to change out of this. You too Cala." She grabs Cala's hand and pulls her up the stairs with Alison. I turn around and see all three boys just staring.
"What?" I ask them.
"So, she knew about all of this? Even Cala?" asks Scott.
"For weeks. Months even." I say smugly. "She had a right to know." Scott shrugs his shoulders and walks over to the keg. Isaac walks with him while Stiles just looks at me. He is still bruised up a bit. "Do you want some ice?" I ask him. Stiles blinks.
"That," he says with exaggeration, "would be beautiful." HE walks over to me and we walk to Lydia's kitchen.
Her kitchen counter is covered in beer and red cups, no doubt someone had a beer pong tournament. Chips are lying on the counter as well. I wave my hand and clear a chair for Stiles. I walk to Lydia's Freezer and pull out some frozen peas. I smirk as I wrap it in a cloth. Stiles watches me as I walk over to him and sit in the chair next to him. I look at his eye and see the bruise start to darken. I place the peas on his eye. He flinches slightly at the cold, but relaxes as the cold does her work.
We sit there for a while, just in silence. Listening the music blare in the next room and couples dancing to it.
"Aiden." I look at Stiles. His hand reaches for my hand holding up the peas. He holds it and takes off the peas. "Why didn't you tell us?" he asks. I knew he would ask this sooner or later, it was just a matter of time.
"It wasn't the right time. You didn't need to know." Stiles rolls his eyes.
"Didn't need to know?" he asks. "Aiden, when is the right time? We don't have luck here, we just have misfortune. We could have helped you get it back." I smile at the thought.
"Stiles, no one ever gets their soul back. No one ever has."
"Till now." He holds my hand.
I feel his gaze on me and look up at him. His hand brings me closer to him. His lips touch mine and my worries go away. I just focus on Stiles. I pull him closer and he flinches. I pull away with a quiet laugh.
"Hey, I'm still fragile." He says.
I smirk and lean up and kiss his cheek. Then I lean into his lips and kiss him again.
