"Ugh…It's dripping everywhere!"

"Hurry up and swallow it, then."

"I..I…can't."

"Idiot. Use your tongue."

"Damn it. It's getting all over my chest! Now I'm all sticky."

"Wow. You eat like a five-year old."

Amy glared up at the ebony hedgehog on the side of her. He looked off to the side, sporting a sheepish grin as he always did whenever he picked on her. In his hand, a chocolate ice cream cone sat contently. Unmelted and non-sloppy. Unlike hers, which was now just a soggy cone full of strawberry milk.

It had been Shadow's idea to meet up so they could discuss their "Agreement" a little more. He said he'd wanted to clarify and make sure that they were both on the same page, which was fine with her. After all, she'd gotten her first job yesterday, and the weather was nice for once. It had been her idea, however, to get ice cream cones (Which Shadow let her humbly buy).

Now frustrated, Amy stood from her spot on the park bench and tossed the ruined dairy treat in the nearby trash bin. Shadow stood shortly after, tossed his perfect ice cream in the trash, then gestured for her to start walking. She did so, without an attitude for once (despite the fact that he'd just wasted her money). Since they both seemed to be on the same page, there was no reason for hostility. After all, they were going to be sleeping together. Might as well make some kind of peace.

" So, about the whole rules thing…" Shadow spoke up, joining her side as the strolled casually down the side-walk of the park. Kids, both human a furry, were racing through the fields with kites, toys, or anything they could get their grubby hands on.

"What about it?" Amy asked, slowing her pace down a bit. Shadow slowed down as well.

The ebony hedgehog seemed to be staring into the distance, completely lost in space. Had she not been there with him, she would have assumed he was speaking to himself.

" It's nothing negative, Amy. I just want to ask a question that's been bugging me for a while."

Amy came to a complete stop, staring at him with curiosity. Maybe he disliked some of the rules, or wanted to talk about some strange fetish.

Shadow took a few more steps before coming to a halt. His hands were stuffed in the pockets of his torn jeans, but his back remained turned to her.

"What if one of us falls for the other?"

The pink hedgehog looked at his tall, stiff body. Why the sudden question? She thought she'd made it obvious that if either of them developed those kind of feelings, they would call it quits. She hoped that those old highschool affections weren't resurfacing.

Amy shifted uncomfortably. "Why the sudden question?"

There was a moment of hesitation before the male hedgehog spoke up.

" Are you kidding me? You're bound to fall for me." Shadow turned his body slightly towards Amy, a sheepish grin on his face. " After all, I am a sexy beast. It's a curse, really."

Amy rolled her eyes and launched herself playfully at him, knowing that he'd be bothered with her still sticky hands touching him. As expected, he gave a disgusted grunt as soon as her hand came in contact with his arm. Amy let out a triumph filled laugh before marching ahead, hands now behind her back in an innocent fashion.

Shadow seemed to be as annoyed as ever, most likely because he wasn't getting the reaction he expected.

"Amy, I'm serious. Don't you dare fall in love with me."

Silence.

"Yeah, yeah. Look, will you just take me home now?"

Shadow let out a tired sigh, and Amy could hear him pull out his bike keys. He picked up his pace so that he was walking in front of her, almost challenging her to speed up. She paid no attention, however. Her mind was focused on other things.

Fall in love? With Shadow? The thought seemed unlikely. He was rude, arrogant, and a know-it-all. Sure, he had some very...attractive features, but his personality sucked. Amy had to admit that she was attracted to him sexually, but no way was she falling for him.

And she never would.

Hey guys! Long time no see. I've been gone for some time, but never have I left. With a busted laptop, I was stuck lurking the site on my cellphone. I am happy to say that I have a brand new computer, though!

This is a tiny chapter, I know, but it's only so we can get things running again. Updates will not be scheduled, but if I can help it, i'll try to post at least three chapters a month.
