Fuck it! I'm doing 4 instead of three!

"Shit! Well, try this on for size! Bubbles, erase them!" Dan grabbed his second ball and unleashed his Poliwhirl. Xavier gritted his teeth but stayed at my side of the field.

"Both Trainers ready? Then, BEGIN!"

"Bubbles, Agility then Brick Break!"

"Agility then Bullet Punch!"

Both Xavier and Bubbles sprinted directly at each other, becoming nothing more than blurs running at each other. Xavier trailed a cold steel trail behind him due to the Bullet Punch, and Bubbles trailed a deep orange-brown behind him. They collided with a massive shockwave, and they flew back from each others force. Neither of them looked like they took any damage, but Xavier was winded.

'Xavier, you doing all right?'

'Yeah, just a bit tired. I can keep going though.'

'You sure?'

'Watch me.'

Xavier sprinted forward, but not at Bubbles. Multiple clones surrounded him, and the stopped in front of the walking tadpole.

'Be careful, he might see this coming'

'I am aware. Just be ready to call out the attack.'

"Xavier, use Aura Sphere, and aim for whatever you wish! Open fire!"

"You got it boss!"

All six of the clones and Xavier himself charged up their auras to the open palm of their hands, focusing power. A sphere the size of a large baseball began to form in his hands, and he narrowed his gaze, looking to aim for the stomach of his adversary.

"Not so fast there! Bubbles, take the fight to them and use Faint Attack!" Both myself and Xavier smiled at his order. He couldn't see his enemy, so he recalled his clones to gain a bit of strength back.

"Fire when ready Xavier!"

The Poliwhirl leaped forward and disappeared from view. I noticed that one of Xavier's braids started twitching, so I looked in that direction. A faint, blurry shape quickly moved around, looking for an opening to attack him. I waited until Bubbles was in a good spot, then I told Xavier my idea. I didn't get a reply, but he smiled and nodded.

"Now Xavier! Fire right in front of you!"

"What?!" Dan exclaimed.

Xavier smirked and fired his ball of condensed aura at the shadowy figure in front of him.

"Quickly, use Detect!"

A small shine of bright blue light came from where the Poliwhirls eyes would be at, and the cloak of night disappeared from him, making him visible again. When the first few balls came at Bubbles, he ran around them, managing to avoid them. But they can track onto the targets life energy, so he could not avoid them. He continued to run up and down the field, Xavier supplying more and more to the mass. Bubbles finally figured out something, and ran right at Xavier.

"Shit! Xavier, use Endure!"

"What? Why!"

"Just do it!"

Xavier encompassed himself in a red aura, shielding him from any knockout moves.

"Now brace for impact!"

The tadpole with legs suddenly put on extra speed and jumped over Xavier. The Aura Spheres kept tracking the Poliwhirl but since Xavier was in the way, they collided right with him. A massive black smoke cloud erupted from the middle of the field, and Xavier was thrown free. He landed on the ground in front of the podium. He struggled to get back up, and I had to check my dex. It showed Bubbles at around eighty percent full, but Xavier was holding on by one HP.

"Alright, take a rest Xavier." I pulled out the pokeball to recall him.

"Hang on, Bubbles, use Pursuit!"

The Poliwhirl ran forward and sucker punched Xavier into his ball. My dex buzzed, signaling Xavier had passed out.

"Alright, time for rematch number two! Go, Brandon!"

I grabbed Brandon's pokeball and chucked it unto the battlefield. The bright white light that appeared whenever a Pokémon is released shone brighter than normal, and tinges of blue came along with it. When it finally dissipated Brandon was nowhere to be seen; only a single blade of grass was where he stood.

"What the? Brandon, where are you?!" I shouted, looking around.

"Jack, call out a pokemon or forfeit the- What the fuck was that!?" The referee looked over at Bubbles and saw a dark shadow repeatedly slashing into him, each time leaving a green slash whenever the shadow hit him. After a solid minute of cutting, the shadow leapt back and stood in front of me. I pulled out my Pokedex and scanned it.

Brandon has evolved into a Grovyle!

New Moves: Fury Cutter, Quick Attack, Slam, Leaf Storm, Dig, Night Slash.

Congratulations!

"Hot damn! Alright then Brandon use Fury Cutter then Night Slash!" I shouted, keeping an eye on the battle function.

Brandon leaped forward, charging a pale greenish-brown color on his blades.

"Defend with Mega Punch!"

Bubbles and Brandon ran towards each other and swung at each other, missing. They clashed moves, and contested for power. But Brandon had the advantage of being completely energized, and soon overpowered Bubbles. Cutting him and forcing him back, he followed up with a multitude of slashes and cuts, growing more and more powerful due to Fury Cutter's secondary power.

"Alright, stop it Brandon. Let him catch his breath."

Brandon stopped his attack another inch from Bubbles face, and pushed him over. The frog fell over and didn't get back up.

"Brandon has defeated Bubbles! Daniel, send out your next pokemon!"

"Shit! Alrighty then, time for Dusty's debut!" Dan shouted, sending out an all white pokeball. Out came a small purple ghoul with gems for eyes and a diamond on its stomach. I caught a glimpse of it's back and saw a small ruby, emerald, and sapphire.

"Dusty! Prepare for Mega Evolution!"

"What the fuck is Mega evolution!?"

Dan lifted up his wrist and pushed down on a small gem, causing it to glow. The same glow came from Dusty and he became incased in a purple/pink cocoon. It broke away, revealing Dusty holding a massive Ruby, and his gems all turned red. I quickly lifted up my pokedex to scan it.

BEHOLD MEGA EVOLUTION!

OPPENENTS SABLEYE HAS EVOLVED TO MEGA SABLEYE!

"Well, shit. Uh, Brandon, use Quick Attack and Leaf Storm!" I shouted, looking down at the 'dex.

"Counter with Shadow Sneak and Signal Beam!"

Brandon ran forward, gaining more speed than before and nearly becoming invisible. Once he got in range of Dusty, his entire body glew green with energy. Before he could unleash it, Dusty become shadow and sunk into the ground, a dark figure trailing in the ground.

'Fuck, where did he go?' Brandon thought to himself, looking around trying to find the adversary. A shadow trailed along the ground, going behind Brandon and solidifying into Dusty once more. He charged a rainbow colored beam into his ruby and got ready to fire.

"Brandon, jump to the rafters! Quickly!" I shouted, looking at the massive beam being charged within a few feet behind him. He used Quick Attack and jumped up to the wooden beams on the roof.

"Charge the Leaf Storm onto a Leaf Blade!" I shouted up to him. The glow dissipated and a fainter one started glowing, coming from his right arm blade.

"Brandon!"

"Dusty!"

"FIRE!"

Both pokemon fired their respective attacks, Brandon jumping down with his arm in front of him, Dusty firing the massive rainbow beam at Brandon.

"Brandon! GO THROUGH THE BEAM!"

"I'm trusting you Jack!" Brandon shouted down at me.

He curled up into a ball with his right arm with the energy blade sticking out. The beam closed in on Brandon, but when it hit Brandon the amount of grass energy on the blade was enough to cut the beam clean in half, causing two smaller beams to collide with the ceiling and some bits rained down on the field.

"Dusty, use Counter!" Dan shouted at the ghoul. Dusty surrounded himself with his gem, with a small blue aura surrounding it. Brandon couldn't stop the attack at that point, so he went on a collision course with Dusty's Counter. The only thing that could stop Brandon from being killed was something we had never practiced, so I had to rely on his instinct.

"DETECT!"

Milliseconds before impact, I saw Brandon's eyes glow blue and he loosened his muscles. Brandon hit Dusty's gem, and a red energy beam fired from its gem. Brandon twisted his head and managed to avoid being hit directly from the beam, but his left arm got hit hard. He started falling to the ground, holding his blacked arm in pain. I ran out onto the field, ignoring the Referee telling me that if I did, I forfeit the match. I slid on my knees, and grabbed Brandon before he hit the floor. He was in agony, and his arm was charred and steaming. I could only look up at Dan, see his horrified face, before I ran to the pokemon center. I grabbed Xavier's and Chester's balls before running out, but all I thought was will Brandon be able to use it again.

"Hey man, where- Holy Shit what the fuck happened!?" Zack saw me running away from the match, but stopped dead cold when he saw Brandon.

"No time, meet us at the center!" I shouted behind me, not slowing down. I ran faster than I thought I could, nearly tripping over myself. I saw the center, only a block to go. I ran into a few other people who stopped dead in their tracks when they saw Brandon, and I looked down at him. He was clutching his arm, eyes half closed, grimacing in pain every time I took a step.

I got up to the PokeCenter's doors and kicked them in as hard as I could, breaking one of them. The nurse looked up at me and gasped when she saw the state Brandon was in.

"We need a stretcher out here!" She picked up a phone and shouted into it. Two Blissey ran out to the lobby with a stretcher between them, and they took Brandon with them.

"Wait here Mr., uh…"

"Allen."

"Thank you. Wait here Mr. Allen; we will take care of him. But what happened?"

"I was fighting a guy who challenged me, and his Sableye used counter, and, and, just help him! I'll tell you later!" I yelled, out of breath and gagging.

"Very well. Please wait in the out here while I take a look at him." She told me, running down the hall.

I turned around and sat in an empty chair, pushing a super potion disc into Xavier Pokeball, healing him enough so I could call him out. I grabbed both Chester's and Xavier's balls and opened them.

"Guys, I have some… news." I said, thinking on how I should word this.

"What happened? And where's Brandon at?" Xavier asked me.

"Dan had a Sableye, and after fighting a bunch, he used Counter. Brandon hit him with a leaf blade supercharged with a leaf storm, and if he didn't use Detect at the last moment, then he wouldn't have lived."

Xavier took a step towards me. "WHAT. HAPPENED. TO. HIM."

"His arm got caught in the beam, and, and, i… I don't know."

He looked down and clenched his fists in anger and sorrow. "WHERE IS HE!"

I didn't know, so I just looked down. Xavier sat down on the floor, trying not to cry. But no one can hide the tears.

"Will he be okay?" I looked up and saw Chester on the seat next to me.

"I think he will live, but I don't know what will happen to his arm."

Chester sat down next to me, and closed his eyes.

BING BONG

I looked up and saw Zack walk through the busted door and look around. He saw me and ran over.

"Dude, what the fuck happened? I saw Brandon and he looked like shit!" Zack had his eye's bugging out of his skull, shocked.

I told him what happened, and he sat down in the seat across from me.

"Fuck man, that's bad." Is all he could say. We all sat in silence, and Zack released Ele. She sat down next to him, and started preening herself. We sat there for hours, and I didn't move an inch. Chester and Xavier did the same, only looking up every so often to see if the light had turned of, signaling it would be over.

Zack walked over to the vending machines and bought some drinks. "Hey Jack." He held on in front of me. "You want one?"

"Thanks, but, I'm good."

"Jack, I can't stand you looking like this. You have been sitting here for five hours at this point. Just take the water."

I looked up at him, my eyes red from the tears. "Next time your Pokémon is in the operating room, I'll make sure you get stuff. But right now just leave me the fuck alone."

"Fine. But just know you have friends here."

"Yeah, I know." I looked out the window, and the storm had broke. Rain was cascading from the sky, turning the beach into a swamp.

And that's all for chapter 14! Hope that Brandon pulls through, and the fight with Brawly will be the next chapter or the one after. Peace out.
