Chapter 14: Celestial Spirit Mage, Lullaby and a Date-Part 1!
-X784-
Within the little town of Hargeon, the hustle and bustle of everyday life went on as people woke up and went through their day. Each offered the other a kindly smile, a warm greeting and cheerful wave as they interacted…except for one particular individual.
Walking through Hargeon with a disappointed gait, the young woman swiveled her eyes around the area. She had brown eyes and shoulder-length blonde hair that she kept tied by ribbons of a variety of colours in a small ponytail to the right side of her head with the rest of her hair loose. What most people noticed, the men and some women in particular, were her ridiculously huge breasts that were barely contained by the white and blue stripped blouse she wore. Her curvaceous body, which was adorned with a blue skirt that barely reached mid-thigh length along with the mentioned blouse, drew stares and attention wherever she went. Her brown belt, which appeared to be the only thing keeping her blouse on and skirt up, also held several different keys. A whip was coiled around it as well, the heart-shaped end giving a few men some questionable fantasies.
Her black leather high heeled boots made soft clacks as she strolled through Hargeon. Sighing in despair, Lucy Hearfilia run her hand through her hair. "Great…just great. There's not even a single store that sells anything Magic-related at all. Damn." Huffing at her situation, the blonde decided to head back to the hotel she was staying in. She sighed as she walked down the streets. "Talk about disappointing…"
"Excuse me," A young man called out as Lucy passed by a library. His call startled her from her daydreaming, causing her to jump slightly, and turn towards him. He was pretty average-looking; it was the kind of nondescript 'I've got nothing going for me in my life' appearance that some of the younger generation seemed to posses now a days. "Are you looking for a Magic shop in town? I couldn't help but overhear your comments, and would like to offer some assistance." He said, offering the busty blonde a polite bow.
Eyeing the man with something akin to disdain, Lucy nevertheless found her curiousity piqued. "Really? I've been all over the place and I haven't managed to find any Magic shops…" She crossed her arms over her chest, unknowingly pushing them together and making them appear bigger than they were. "Are you trying to pull off some 'dumb blonde' joke or something?"
The man shook his head wildly, trying to stop his eye from drifting towards her pushed-up chest. "No, no, nothing of the sort! My grand-uncle just happens to run a store a couple of blocks away and business hasn't been booming for him lately," He explained. "When I heard that you were searching for a Magic shop, I had an idea of leading you there to help his business out and maybe even help attract more customers for him."
Lucy gave him a deep, searching look as he nervously shifted in position, trying to sense any deceit or ill intentions from the stranger. After a few moments, she shrugged and gestured with her hand. "Alright, I suppose I could let you escort me there…though I warn you, if this is a prank of any kind…" Her raised fist made the man chuckle uneasily.
"Er, sure. Follow me, it's a little confusing following this route."
-Hargeon Station-
Meanwhile, at Hargeon Station, a small crowd had gathered around Terminal 1, and was watching with unabashed surprise and amusement at the sight that they were being treated to. In the center of the crowd stood three individuals, two men and one female; one of the males was hunched over in the ground, profusely trying to restrain the vomit that was scrambling to be released from his stomach whilst the other two just sighed exasperatedly.
A small blue cat was also by the motion-sick fellow, patting his back like he would a child and trying to soothe his best friend. "Natsu, isn't it kind of lame that a train can kick your but without even trying?" Of course, what he believed to be soothing was something entirely different to the downed Dragon Slayer.
Natsu had grown from the time of the S-Class Exams; his hair had gotten even spikier than before, sticking up in many different directions that it now resembled something like a rat's nest according to Gray. His clothes were unchanged, save the fact that they were now a larger size, and his body physique had grown to be deceptively lean and flaky-looking. Now standing at almost double his previous height, the young mage had turned out quite well in his growth. Stifling the urge to throw up on Happy, Natsu leveled what he hoped to be an angry glare upon Happy…it ended up looking like he was really constipated. "Sh-Shut up, Happy…Urp, I don't feel so good." He moaned.
The female laughed tiredly at the situation, mentally wondering if she would have to do this for her boyfriend every time they took a ride together. Slipping on a pair of gloves, she stepped up to Natsu and kneeled down beside him. "Hold on Natsu-kun, I'll take care of it for you," She said. Pressing her gloved palm against his forehead, a light green energy coated her hand and within seconds Natsu's nausea was cleared up. Removing her palm from his head, she rose up with a pleased look on her face. "That should do it, right Natsu-kun?"
Bouncing unto his feet, the now healthy looking Natsu broke out into a thankful smile. "Thanks for healing me, I feel much better now. You're the best, Lisanna."
Like her boyfriend, Lisanna had changed over the years; her short hairstyle had been discarded for a shoulder-length one, with the ends curled prettily. She had shot up in height as well, standing just about a centimeter shorter than Natsu. Her simple pink dress and red flats had been thrown away for a black vest, a blue undershirt, blue jeans with a silver chain, and black flats with blue socks. Her figure had become more womanly and attracted a fair amount of attention from the males; her large breasts and curvaceous figure made a few of them mutter "Lucky bastard," underneath their breath.
The third figure just chuckled at the scene. "How about we get going before you two start sucking faces? We're on a tight schedule and I don't want to listen to your brother go on about real men being punctual to appointments, Lisanna."
She rolled her eyes at him, ignoring Natsu's atomic blush that had erupted at his words. "Oh please, you just wanna head back and do unspeakable things with Setsuna and Mira-nee, Naruto." She accused, her tone playful and light.
Naruto winked slyly at her and began to head into the town. Of all the Guild members, Naruto had changed the least; he still wore the outfit he wore since his first days in Fairy Tail, though he often donned on a short-sleeved version when the heat grew too much for his taste, and still had a sword strapped to his back. However, the sword wasn't Samehada; it was wrapped in a black cloth but was shaped like an over-sized dog's fang. The blade was strapped securely unto his back, almost hanging there by his thoughts. His hair length had also changed; as opposed to keeping it evenly short, he let the right side grow whilst keeping the left side short, which resulted in the right side of his face being covered by his hair. It certainly looked like a short version of Madara's hairstyle, though it was of shoulder length. "Come on, the sooner we're done the quicker we can leave!" He called out, already nearing the exit.
Turning to Natsu, Lisanna cocked an eye. "Come on Natsu-kun, let's go." Bounding towards her sensei, Natsu and Happy quick on her heels, the group entered Hargeon Town.
Meanwhile, Lucy found herself perusing the items in the single Magic shop of Hargeon with disappointment. Most of the items the old man had were very weak, made for entertaining tricks rather than battle. Sighing once again, she turned towards the old man in charge. "Sorry to bother you, but do you happen to have any Gate Keys?" She questioned as she strode up to him at the counter.
The old man frowned thoughtfully at her request. "Now that I think about it, I reckon that I have a few Gate Keys in stock somewhere…give me a minute, I'm expecting a customer to come pick up his order." Ambling on to the back of the store, Lucy was left staring at the back of the old man in small hope.
'Maybe coming here wasn't a complete waste of time after all!' She thought to herself. Walking to a different part of the store, she shuffled a few items around in search of something interesting within the pile. After several minutes of rummaging through the items, Lucy was snapped out of her activity by the door opening and a set of footsteps making their way to the counter.
Peeking from the corner of eye, Lucy gasped in shock and awe at the person who had just entered the dull and boring shop she was in as well. Quickly zipping behind the nearby aisle, she clamped her mouth shut with her hands as she tried to hold back the fan-girl scream that wanted to be released. 'OhmygodohmygodohmyGOD! It's Naruto Uzumaki, Fairy Tail's Demon King in the flesh!' Quickly uttering a prayer of thanks to whichever deity was listening, she stood up and grabbed the nearest item from it's position before she slowly headed towards the counter.
Naruto quickly stepped up to the counter and rung the bell that was there. "Oi, jiji! Don't tell me that you're not done with your favorite customer's order." He leaned against the counter as the man came scurrying back, a bright smile stretched on his face.
"Well, if it isn't Naruto-kun! It's been a while since you stopped by here; are you and young Miss Strauss doing well?" The man slapped a packaged box before the blond Mage, making him arch a brow. The box was roughly the size of Happy and covered in a purple wrapping paper, making Naruto smile slightly at the old man's choice of colour.
"Lisanna's alright; she sends her regards, by the way." Slipping the parcel into a seal, Naruto folded his arms and stood straight. "So, how much was it again?" He asked, reaching within his shirt pocket for his wallet.
The old man frowned. "You're leaving already? Usually you stay for a drink or a bite to eat before you leave-"
"Excuse me," a new voice cut in, making Naruto and the old man shift their attention towards Lucy, who had her arms crossed and trying to look annoyed. The effect was ruined by the blush on her face as well as the fact that her eyes kept drifting to Naruto. "I believe you were getting some Gate Keys for me? Anything happen to that?" She prompted.
Naruto eyed the old man questioningly as said person just palmed his fist as though he had just remembered. "Oh, I almost forgot about that! Coming right up, miss!" Dashing back to wherever he went the first time, the old man left the store in a slightly awkward silence.
Now that she had gotten rid of the shopkeeper, Lucy found herself struggling to find a way to break the ice between her and the famous Mage. 'Um, could I talk about the weather? No, that's overused…uh, his sword? No, what if he asks why I'm interested? Arrghh! Damnit Lucy, you should've thought this out more thoroughly!' She mentally chastised herself, nervously looking anywhere but Naruto's direction. A chuckle drew her away from her thoughts, her blush deepening at the sound of his voice.
"Hello, I'm pretty sure you know who I am but I'll introduce myself nevertheless; my name is Uzumaki Naruto, though I also go by the moniker 'Demon King'." He started, turning his body until he had his attention on her entirely. "So you're a Celestial Spirit Mage, miss…?"
Swallowing the scream of having THE Demon King speaking to her, Lucy found herself stuttering as she hastily introduced herself. "Y-You can call me L-Lucy. It's a pleasure to meet you, Uzumaki-san!" She gushed, bowing quickly. Straightening her posture, she laughed nervously at the amused look he was sending her. "Yeah, I use Celestial Spirits as a Mage."
Naruto eye-smiled. "That's pretty interesting, Lucy-san. Out of curiousity, how many Gate Keys do you have?" The old man chose this moment to return, holding a small wooden case that had a silver colour stamped unto it. As he brushed against Naruto's palm, he deftly and surreptitiously dropped a piece of paper in Naruto's hand. Naruto immediately closed his palm and pocketed the note whilst the old man kept Lucy occupied with her Gate Key.
Accepting the box from the man, Lucy turned inquisitive and happy eyes towards the old man. "How much for the Gate of the Dog Key?" She queried.
The old man made a victory sign. "Twenty thousand Jewels, no discounts or sales included."
Lucy froze, her happiness evaporating like water in the desert as the price floated about in her mind. 'Crap, I can't afford to spend so much! How will I be able to pay the rent?!' She loomed closer to the old man, a fake smile etched on her face. "Excuse me, how much did you say it was again?"
"Twenty thousand Jewels!"
Before Lucy could begin thinking about using her sex appeal to try and cut a deal with the old man, Naruto stepped forwards with a huge wad of Jewel bills. "This should cover both my order and her Gate Key, right Jiji?" He ignored the surprised look Lucy was giving him and handed the bills over to the old man, who counted them with a self-satisfied look on his face.
"Well, that settles everything. See you soon Naruto-kun! Don't be a stranger!"
Naruto waved at the man and gestured towards the surprised girl to follow him. Leaving the shop, Naruto only had to wait two seconds before Lucy burst out as well. "Naruto-san, wait!" Seeing her run towards him, Naruto stopped his movement and waited for her to catch up. As she did, she gazed at him with a conflicted expression. "Why-Why did you pay for the Gate Key back there? I mean, I appreciate the gesture but we barely know each other and it's strange for someone to do that for me." She explained.
Naruto shrugged lightly. "Well, I suppose you have a point but I just felt like helping you out back there. You seemed to have some financial difficulties, so I decided to put the money I earn to good use…besides, that was a drop of the ocean compared to how much I earn in a day. I wasn't losing anything, just gaining." He clarified, shifting his head towards a nearby clock. 'Lisanna and Natsu should be done by now; better hurry and meet them in the town center.'
Catching his action and correctly interpreting the meaning behind it, Lucy steeled herself and asked the question she had been dying to ask ever since she had seen him in that shop. "Ano, thank you for the help…I hope I'm not imposing," she began, nervously clasping her hands together behind her back, "But I was wondering if you could help me join Fairy Tail."
Naruto blinked. "You want to join Fairy Tail?"
She clasped her hands together, making her breasts bounce in ways that Naruto was tempted to stare at. "Yeah, it's been a goal of mine for quite some time. I've been dreaming about joining since I was a little girl; Fairy Tail is cool, wild and so exciting! Especially the S-Class Mages, like you and Mirajane!" She seemed to go into her own world, stars shining around her as she daydreamed about the various powerful Mages within the Guild.
Naruto paused, his eyes roving over her in a once-over before settling on her Gate Keys. 'Fairy Tail doesn't have any Celestial Spirit Mages, so I don't see why Makarov wouldn't allow her to join…' Nodding once, his eyes twinkled in amusement as Lucy gained stars in her eyes. "Sure thing, why don't you tag along with me? A few other Guild members came with me, so I'm planning on meeting them in the town center at one o'clock…which is in five minutes time." He suggested, his eyes glancing at the nearby clock.
Lucy's excited cheer was all he needed to hear.
-Lisanna and Natsu, Town Center-
Things weren't going so well for the young couple; earlier in the day, Natsu had heard a rumor about there being a performance by Salamander of Fairy Tail at one o'clock. Normally, that wouldn't have bothered him but as far as he knew, he was Salamander…and he hadn't even thought about performing amongst the Guild, let alone in front of some random strangers.
So, since this was very personal for Natsu, they had gone to see the imposter and possibly beat the tar out of him. As they walked towards the town center, they could make out the large crowd of females screaming "Salamander!" with more than a few love-struck expressions. As they got closer, Lisanna began to feel something strange; her heat began pounding faster, almost like whenever she saw Natsu, and her face began to feel hot. As they got closer to the crowd, the feeling began to grow more intense.
Her eyes sharpened as she recognized the Magic being used. 'Charm Magic…how despicable and highly suspicious. Why would he be using an illegal Magic in broad daylight? What's he going to say when he gets caught?' Breaking herself from the Magic's hold, Lisanna pulled Natsu faster and scanned the faces of the girls present. As she suspected, they were all under the imposter's hold. Roughly shoving her way through the various women, Lisanna managed to get a good look at the 'Salamander'.
He was a relatively tall and slim man with mildly short, spiky hair of a blue shade jutting outwards, with a long fringe left hanging over the upper left part of his face. He possessed a mildly rectangular face with sharp features, dark eyes and thin, dark eyebrows. His most distinctive facial feature was the dark tattoo covering the right part of his forehead, just above his right eyebrow.
He wore ornate clothing, with the most visible piece being a dark, high-collared cape almost reaching down to his knees, possessing a lighter inner part and light edges adorned by a pattern consisting of many rhombs lined up after another. It was closed some centimeters beneath his neck by a fastener adorned by a stylized flame. Below his cape he wore a simple, light short-sleeved shirt with outlined edges, paired with light pinstriped pants with visible hems, held up by a simple belt covered in elegant spots hidden by his shirt. He also had on polished dark shoes, with lighter soles and a lighter upper part going down from the ankle's front. He also sported three large metal bracelets around his right wrist and forearm.
"Natsu," she whispered, catching his attention. "This guy's using Charm Magic on those girls." She shivered in disgust as the imposter shamelessly began to grope one of the curvaceous girls. "If we don't stop him, he'll not only drag your reputation to the dirt but he'll also make the Magic Council more annoyed with Fairy Tail!"
Natsu was immediately annoyed with that blue-haired bastard. "What?! Let me at him! I'll make him pay for messing with the Fairy Tail name!" He ignited his fists, preparing to make good on his words when Lisanna grabbed unto him.
Lisanna held Natsu back as he growled at the imposter, who was using very low-level Fire Magic to dazzle the crowd. "Natsu-kun, calm down! Kick his ass after I break the Charm spell, not before!" She furiously whispered in his ears. 'Honestly, he's so hot-headed sometimes that I want to hit him!'
Happy, who was staring at the man with intense concentration from the skies, gasped loudly. "Natsu, Lisanna! I know that Mage!" Quickly darting towards his surrogate parents, Happy relayed the information he knew about the man to them. "That's Bora the Prominence, a former member of the Titan Nose Guild. He was kicked out for using his Magic to aid in thievery and was rumored to be engaged in slavery! The Magic Council has a bounty on his head because he supposedly stole some important documents that they want back!"
The Fire Dragon Slayer simmered down, eyeing Bora angrily as he continued his extravagant performance. "So if I happen to capture this guy and take him to the Magic Council, it would put Fairy Tail in a good light?" He asked, cracking his knuckles in anticipation.
Happy nodded. "Aye!"
Lisanna shrugged, her attention directed to dispelling the Charm effects. Just like Naruto had taught her, she manipulated her magic energy to flow through the body of the girls around her. Had she done this four years ago, it would have been beyond her and she would've struggled to even attain such fine control. Now, she could do so instantly and applied even greater force to disrupt the flow of the castor's Magic.
It was a technique Naruto had taught her; 'Genjutsu Kai' (Genjutsu Dissipation).
As she released her Magic from the bodies of the women, who were suddenly blinking in confusion and no longer lustful, she turned to Natsu and nodded. 'Go kick his ass.'
He grinned. 'With pleasure.' Stiding towards Bora, Natsu's grin turned shark-like; he was so going to enjoy this. "Hey, flame imposter!" He called out. As Bora turned around, a sneer on his lips, Natsu's fist impacted in his face. The blow slammed into Bora's face with enough force to break his nose, the loud snapping noise of his cartilage being heard by the Dragon Slayer. As Bora stumbled back, he spat out blood and broken teeth.
Glaring at Natsu in anger, Bora growled. "Who the hell are-"
Natsu grinned as flames began to coat his body. "Lemme show you how to really use Fire Magic! Asa Niwatori (Morning Chicken)!"
-Naruto and Lucy-
The two blonds were making their way towards the center of town with a spring in their step…or, to be precise, Lucy was prancing about whilst Naruto ambled on towards his cute students. They had certainly grown from when he first started teaching them…
He chuckled fondly as he recalled various parts of their training; Natsu falling to the Sennen Goroshi like he had when he was a child, Mirajane continuously blasting herself off the water and into the air as she practiced water-walking, Gray slamming himself into his ice each time he messed up the Makyo Hyosho (Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals), Cana being forced to search for him each time she got stuck in the body of an animal and Lisanna causing craters each time she touched something.
Elfman still spared with him, but due to the increase in job requests he had taken to disappearing from the Guild at random intervals.
A sudden explosion snapped him out of his reverie and he sighed exasperatedly whilst Lucy stared at the explosion in shock. "What the heck?! What happened?!" She screamed.
Naruto clasped his hand on her shoulder, prompting her to turn and face him. He had a tired expression on his face that didn't help calm her nerves. "Unfortunately, that would be something you're going to have to get used to if you join Fairy Tail. Judging by the explosion and the large quantity of fire, it's probably Natsu at it…stupid brat." He began to head towards the source of the explosion languidly.
Lucy quickened her pace until she was drifting by his side, curiousity showing on her face. "Wait a minute-you mean 'Natsu the Salamander' is here in Hargeon with you?" At his silent nod, she burst out another question. "Is it true that he can use fire in all manner of ways-like flying with it, eating it and even using it to grab objects?"
Naruto glanced at her from the corner of his eyes. "Why don't we ask him that in person?"
-Natsu-
Natsu was having a blast kicking Bora all across town. I mean, who wouldn't enjoy having the opportunity to punish someone trying to impersonate them and using their reputation to get them in trouble? Also, Bora's actions would have made anyone who came across him see Fairy Tail in a negative and derogatory light.
Couldn't have that happening on his watch.
By now everyone save Lisanna and Happy had left, screaming in fear as Bora was sent flying into various wares and shops. Natsu had to admit, the guy was fairly durable; he had taken the full force of his Asa Niwatori yet was still able to put up a decent fight, though Natsu noted that he could've taken him down even without Naruto's training.
"RRROOAAARGGHH! DIE!" Bora roared as he unleashed one of his more powerful spells. "Prominence Typhoon!" Stretching his hands out to his sides, Bora concentrated a good chunk of his magic into the spell. A Magic Circle appeared before is chest, from which a spiraling column of purple fire was sent flying towards the Dragon Slayer.
Natsu grinned. Dashing right into the fiery blaze, he reveled in the frightened look Bora wore at the sight of Natsu running right towards him without injury despite being set ablaze. Leaping towards the faker via one enhanced magic dash, Natsu's body burst into much brighter flames that expelled Bora's weak flames from his body. Rotating at speeds that Bora was sure were supposed to be impossible, Natsu called out his attack as his attack landed. "Fire Dragon's Sword Drill!"
Bora screamed as Natsu's spinning headbutt carved into his body, the superior flames burning him badly and the force breaking some more bones. Not finished yet, Natsu flipped his body whilst igniting his feet and fired a 'Fire Dragon's Talon' right into Bora's face, knocking the imposter unconscious .
As Natsu removed himself from his stance and proceeded to drag the body, Lisanna watched him do all that with a sigh. 'Naruto-nii is not going to be amused…'
A/N: Yeah, this chapter is short and more of a set-up for the next one, which has lots of things happening in it. I'm not going to say anything about that, so let's move on. As you may have noticed, I've hinted at what new abilities and skills Natsu and his friends have developed due to them training with Naruto. Can you have a guess what they are?
Since people don't seem to care about my author notes, I suppose I'll have to say it again: NARUTO AND SETSUNA WERE DE-AGED WHEN THEY CAME TO EARTHLAND! I cannot stress how annoying it is for that question to pop up in reviews and PMs when I stated it way back then!
Snuggly Bear Zacky-Kinz asked me if I would mind continuing 'The Bijuu Pawn' alongside 'Primordial God of Destruction'…and my answer is yes. Be on the lookout for the next chapter, whenever it comes out.
Please note that I'll be focusing on my other fics for a while, so this might not be updated for a while. I've also managed to decide when the Daybreak Arc will take place; it will be…during the Fighting Festival Arc AND the Eclipse Gate Arc. Two invasions, twice the mayhem. Hehehehehe.
Please review.
