Notes: Here's Chapter 14 guys, I hope you enjoy it!

Run

Opal had been living at the Tokyo estate for a week now. Asami's workload was beginning to grow larger each day, so Korra was often left home alone with Opal. It had only been a short time, but she had found herself growing quite fond of the jade eyed Beifong.

The two of them were sitting side by side on the edge of the little pond bridge, their legs dangling below them.

"How long has it been since you had a seizure?" Korra asked quietly, her eyes on the koi fish.

Opal reflected on it a moment, frowning in thought. When was the last time? She had just got off of the phone with Bolin…

"Oh, about two weeks ago. It was right after the last time I talked to Bolin." She shivered at the memory, placing her arms over her chest. Opal looked into the water pensively. Why did this have to happen to her?

"Well that's good right?" Korra said cheerily. The blue eyed girl frowned at the lack of a response from her new friend. "Opal, what's wrong?"

"Today just isn't a good day Korra…" Opal said with a sigh.

Korra nodded inwardly, a certain sadness creeping into her heart for the other girl. No matter how hard Korra was trying, she didn't seem to be making any progress with Opal since her first day at the estate. She had mentioned that she should call Bolin, but she later found out Opal didn't contact him.

"Talk to me Opal, what are you feeling?" Korra mused.

Opal sighed heavily, drawing her knees up to her chest and putting her head down. She just sat silently, not wanting to answer Korra. How could she explain this empty feeling? "Sometimes I just feel alone, even when people are around."

"Kind of like you're seeing something that's there, and no one else does?" Korra mused, staring into the water.

Opal turned her head, her cheek resting on her knee. She couldn't help but staring at how beautiful the other girl was. Her tanned skin, just a bit darker than her own seemed to be in perfect harmony with her azure eyes. 'I wasn't trying to break the ice the other day by complimenting her, I really meant that…' Opal thought to herself.

She let her jade eyes roam over Korra's body, curves in all the right places. She had always viewed Korra as an attractive woman, but the last few days, spending so much time with her was starting to cause Opal to view her differently. Her cheeks flushed as she was suddenly aware that Korra had met her gaze.

"Opal?"

Opal's eyes widened in embarrassment, "I uh-"

Korra frowned.

Was she just checking me out?

No, she couldn't have been. She's just innocent and polite, that's why she's acting like that.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to stare!" Opal yelped, turning her face away to hide her rosy cheeks. 'I can't believe you let yourself do that!' she inwardly reprimanded herself. Korra was a friend, and a girl for that matter. She shouldn't be looking at her that way.

Korra shrugged it off. "You're fine, you've got a lot on your mind."

Opal sighed in relief, but frowned to herself. She didn't call Bolin a few days ago when Korra suggested it. In fact, she was trying to avoid him. I've known him for over 6 years, he loves you. Korra's words haunted Opal, she used her condition as an excuse to suddenly back out of their relationship. She just hadn't felt the same spark as she did when they first got together.

"I didn't call Bolin the other night…"

Korra looked dumbfounded. "Why not?"

"I'm a terrible person…" Opal said softly.

"What? No you're not! Don't talk like that Opal, why are you saying that?"

Opal turned to Korra, a frightened look in her eyes, "Because I used my epilepsy as an excuse to back out of our relationship!"

Korra's jaw dropped.

Well I certainly wasn't expecting that.

"Opal…"

The Beifong girl was crying freely, her body shaking. "I just didn't love him anymore, I didn't know how to break up with him. He's always been so kind, and loving toward me, I couldn't bear breaking his heart…"

Korra scooted over next to the younger girl and pulled her into an embrace, letting her cry on her shoulder. Opal wrapped her arms around Korra, thankful for the support.

"My condition doesn't help, but it wasn't the reason I pushed him away. I just didn't know how to handle it, so I used what I could…"

"Shh, it's alright Opal. You don't have to explain." Korra said softly.

The two of them just sat silently for a time, enjoying the peaceful garden. The evening sun was setting across the city, casting a warm glow on their faces. Opal closed her eyes, content with being held in Korra's arms. The feel of her toned body, the warmth of her skin on her own. 'What the heck am I doing?' Opal flushed furiously, but kept her head on Korra's shoulder, hoping she wouldn't notice.

Opal glanced upward to see Korra gazing at the horizon. 'Thank goodness'.

Korra spoke up suddenly. "It's nice to just sit with someone and relax for once…" Opal just waited patiently, not wanting to break away. "…Asami has been so busy lately, I don't often have a moment to just sit down and talk with her."

Korra looked back down to the sunset's reflection on the pond, smiling sadly. Opal could see the loneliness in Korra's eyes. Bolin had told her what had happened to Korra over the past year, but couldn't imagine what it must have been like, to experience so much pain. Her heart felt heavy for the blue eyed girl.

"Asami is really the only person I have. It's hard when she's not around…is that selfish?" she asked, turning to Opal.

"I think it's only natural you want her around, but she is working to help you." Opal looked up hesitantly into Korra's eyes, suddenly growing nervous. "I-I know we haven't known each other very long…but if you ever need to talk, or just someone to be by your side, I'm here for you too…"

Korra smiled radiantly at her, causing her heart to jump. "Thank you Opal."

Opal tossed in her bed, unable to get comfortable.

"Ugh, why can't I sleep?!"

Korra was the reason why. Ever since Opal moved into the house, the blue eyed girl was constantly in her thoughts. When she was with Bolin she never obsessed over him like this. As far as she knew she wasn't even into girls, and here she was, her mind always on Korra. She couldn't explain why she felt so drawn to her.

"Maybe I just need to take a walk…" Opal quietly walked across her bedroom and wrapped a robe around herself, blushing at the thought if someone were to catch her in just her panties.

As Opal softly strode down the hall she noticed Korra's bedroom door was open. Concerned, she took a peek inside to see the bed was empty. 'That's odd', she thought to herself. Opal quickly shuffled to the living room only to find Naga fast asleep on her doggy bed. A light breeze brought her attention to the kitchen and the back door. She frowned at seeing it open, and walked outside.

Opal gazed around the property trying to spot Korra, but couldn't see her. That only left the garden. She quickly walked the trail leading into her newfound sanctuary. The luminous glow of the full moon cast a tranquil light on the garden as she made her way to the pond. Looking through the tall reeds near the water she caught a glimpse of a figure sitting on the bridge. As Opal moved closer she could hear Korra crying.

"Korra?" Opal called out softly from the edge of the bridge. Korra looked over to where she was standing, her eyes glistening with tears. Opal ran over to her, noticing the crutches tossed to the side, and sat down next to her.

"Korra, are you alright?" Opal's voice full of concern.

Depends on your definition.

"Before I went to bed...I called Asami to see if she was going to be home late. She had a lot of work to do so she decided to stay the night at the office again…" Korra struggled with the next part, "…usually when she isn't there, my nightmares are worse. Tonight I had a pretty bad one…"

Asami had spent a few nights away before, but it was starting to take a toll on Korra. Opal could see how fragile Korra's state of mind really was, precisely the reason for Asami working so much. Opal tried to come up with something to calm her down.

"I know its hard Korra, but Asami is working very hard to help you-", she was cut off.

"Have you seen the scars on my back?" Korra asked, her voice breaking.

"N-no…" Opal breathed, suddenly scared.

"They are a constant reminder of what I've been through…" Korra paused and let her robe fall from her bare shoulders, offering Opal a view of her back. Opal's eyes grew wide at the crisscrossing pattern, clearly visible in the moonlight.

"Korra…I am so sorry…" Opal whispered, tears welling in her eyes. "Bolin told me about what happened, but I never imagined it being like this…"

Opal couldn't help herself. Korra suddenly felt a hand tracing the ridges on her back, causing her to close her eyes. The sensation was oddly soothing, a calming feeling. Korra instinctively turned her back to the Beifong girl, allowing her to continue. Opal let her hands roam across Korra's back, feeling every inch of her, her back tensing with every movement.

"Am I-", Opal started.

"No it's okay, just keep going…" Korra replied, deprived of such attention these last few days.

Opal began working her sore back, kneading the muscle. Her soft hands gliding gracefully over Korra's bare back. Even with the scars, Opal couldn't deny the beauty of Korra's body. Her cheeks were aflame as she massaged the blue eyed girl, a strange feeling rising in her middle. Her hands reached Korra's sides and she stopped suddenly. 'Opal, you need to chill out…' she thought to herself. Opal grabbed Korra's robe and put it back over her shoulders.

"I'm sorry he did that to you…" Opal whispered, wrapping her arms around Korra from behind, laying her head on her shoulder.

Korra rested her arms on the Beifong girl's, basking in the feeling of someone holding her.

Korra, what are you doing?

Huh?

You're letting Opal touch you like that, why?

I guess I'm just lonely…

How would you feel if Asami was doing what you are now?

You're right…

"It's late Opal, let's go back."

Asami Sato sat at her large oak desk, piles of paperwork all around her. Her corner office on the top floor the Future Industries office overlooked the Tokyo skyline, offering a beautiful view. Normally she'd find herself gazing across the city, but today all she wanted to do was sleep. She had to leave Korra and Opal last night because of an urgent report detailing new work on Korra's nano treatment.

Everything was progressing as it should, and even Opal's medication was nearly complete, despite being added to her list of growing tasks late in the game. Suyin had been a great help the last few weeks, personally overseeing Asami's projects, leaving the Metal Clan work to her sons Wing and Wei.

Asami looked down at the report in front of her. Profits were up, quite unbelievably, the partnership with the Metal Clan was turning out to be a great decision with each passing day. They only had to withdraw half of the capital in the Swiss accounts due to the excellent quarter sales. Even with all of the success they were having, it was October and time was running out if Asami wanted to keep her promise.

The CEO sighed and looked longingly at her phone, a picture of Korra and her goofy grin as her background photo. Asami smiled to herself and started to type a message.

Asami- Hey love, are you up yet?

Korra- Yeah, just woke up actually.

Asami- I'm sorry I wasn't able to come home last night, are you doing alright?

Korra- Yeah, I'm fine. Having Opal here helps.

Asami frowned at the mention of the Beifong girl's name. She was happy to have her at the house, but she couldn't help but feel jealous that she was spending every waking moment with Korra. She saw how they interacted on the occasion Asami got to come home. If Asami didn't know any better, the two of them… She shook off the feeling. 'Quit being jealous, Opal is a sweet girl and besides, Korra wouldn't cheat.'

Asami- Okay, well good. I do have bad news though…

Korra- You aren't coming home tonight.

Asami- No, I'm sorry Korra.

Korra- It's alright. I know you have a lot of work to do. Text me later today?

Asami- I will, promise.

A few minutes went by and Asami could see Korra was typing, but constantly erasing the message and starting over, eventually stopping.

"I'm sorry…" she whispered, setting her phone aside.

Korra blinked away tears, staring at her phone screen.

I will, promise.

Korra sat up on the bed and popped her back, temporarily relieving the pain in her stiff joints. She looked to her left at where Asami should be and sighed quietly.

I wish she'd just come home.

She will, but she's working hard for you, to make you better.

Korra could her a muffled voice calling her from the hallway.

"Korra! I almost have breakfast ready, if you want some!"

Opal.

Korra smiled to herself. The jade eyed girl had really made the time without Asami somewhat bearable. Her thoughts turned to what happened last night on the bridge. Opal massaging her back, caressing and feeling out her tanned skin…Korra's cheeks burned at the memory.

The last week had been confusing with Opal around. Korra couldn't figure out if Opal was actually into her, not to mention her own confusing feelings toward the other girl. Part of her didn't mind the fact that Opal was coming onto her (if that's what you could call it) and another part of her was telling her that she should keep her distance.

Kind of hard to keep my distance when I've got a cute girl running her hands over my back and smiling at me...

Korra!

She mentally slapped herself as she pulled on her robe to cover her bare chest and grabbed her crutches. Korra made her way out into the hall and was greeted by the unmistakable scent of bacon and eggs.

Holy shit. Judging by the smell she knows how to cook.

Naga came bounding up to her with a loud bark, but quickly slowed. Korra had taught her not to jump due to her ankle, and the loyal St. Bernard had been mindful since.

"Hey there girl! Did you sleep well?" Naga stood on her hind legs and put her paws on Korra's shoulders bringing her eye level with her old friend. A quick lick to the face was the dog's answer, drawing a giggle from Korra.

"Ok ok, that's enough!" she said grinning.

As Korra neared the kitchen she could hear Opal humming to herself. Rounding the corner she saw Opal dancing a little jig while tending to the bacon. Her slender form was sporting only a pair of dark green shorts and a matching sports bra, revealing a finely sculpted body.

Korra watched in rapt attention as Opal moved her body with the music in her head, swinging her hips back and forth, rolling her stomach, and repeating the motion. The dance, coupled with Opal's skimpy clothes was causing Korra to blush furiously. She was beginning to indulge in the show until Opal suddenly turned around.

"Oh hey Korra!" she said cheerfully.

Opal looked quizzically at Korra's face. Was she out of breath? As she walked over to the counter she noticed that Korra was wearing her robe, but could tell she was without a bra. 'Not that she needs one with those perfect breasts…' she blushed at the thought.

"Bacon or eggs? Both? What would you like Korra?" Opal said, averting her eyes.

Korra gulped, trying to compose herself.

You're an idiot, get a hold of yourself!

"I-uh, I'll have both. Thanks…" she stammered out, making her way to the dining room table.

Fucking natural, that's what you are.

Opal skipped over to the table with both of their plates, steam rising off of them. Korra looked down at her plate with wide eyes.

"This looks incredible Opal. What possessed you to make us breakfast?" Korra asked, starting to dig in.

Opal smiled to herself, remembering the moment the two of them had shared the night before on the bridge. Korra looked at her friend's smile and back up to her eyes.

What the heck is she so smiley about?

"Uh, Earth to Opal?" Korra waved a hand in front of her face.

"Sorry! Well I did my morning workout, and I had a good night's sleep. I guess I just felt energized to do something. Besides, you've been helping me a lot this past week, the least I can do is make you breakfast."

"Oh, well thank you." Korra smiled and placed her hand on top of Opal's, "That's why I'm here, to help."

Opal's eyes lit up at the touch and Korra thought she may have seen a slight tint of red in her tanned skin. Korra returned her hand to her plate and continued eating. The Beifong girl watched Korra out of the corner of her eye while she ate, admiring her looks. Even after just waking up, Korra's short cropped hair looked immaculate. She was sitting so close to her she was afraid Korra could feel the fire raging inside her.

Opal eyes roamed down to Korra's chest, her robe slightly parted, giving just hint of cleavage. She could feel the warmth between her legs at the sight. She hadn't ever felt like this with Bolin around. They had kissed before, but that paled in comparison to what she experiencing.

Opal quickly looked away as Korra was nearly done finishing her food. 'Thank God she didn't catch me staring!' she thought picking up her fork, her food was getting cold.

Both girls could feel the tension in the air, completely aware of the other's clothing, thoughts cropping up of the previous night.

Korra could almost feel Opal's hands running over her back, caressing her shoulders. She lost herself in the feeling, grasping at the distant feel of her arms wrapped around her, holding her close. Her eyes roamed over Opal's chest, her breasts perfectly shaped underneath her sports bra.

I'd like to rip that off…

She hadn't been intimate with anyone in some time, and being this close to another woman for a week was driving her crazy, not to mention last night's ordeal. She could feel herself getting damp at the thought of kissing her, crashing her lips into her…

We're practically touching, we're sitting so close…

Opal let out a small squeal as her fork slipped from her hand. She tried to catch it reflexively, accidentally grabbing Korra's breast. The blue eyed girl's eyes widened at the touch as Opal froze, unsure of what to do, unable to move.

"Opal…" Korra breathed, shocked by the sudden turn of events. She brought her hand up and touched Opal's, trying to imply to her to remove it.

Opal just stared into Korra's eyes, piercing her. Korra suddenly found herself unable to move, totally enthralled by Opal's jade eyes, as if seeing them for the first time. Opal looked down at Korra's lips, and back to her eyes and slowly leaned in, her other hand on Korra's bare leg, causing her to gasp.

Korra grabbed Opal and pulled her onto her lap, the Beifong straddling her waist, kissing her deeply. Opal could feel her core on fire with every passing moment. She cupped Korra's cheeks as she kissed her passionately, not wanting to break away for anything. Korra let her hands roam the length of Opal's legs, reveling in their soft texture, causing Opal to moan and break away. Korra grinned wickedly and sent her hands into Opal's shorts gripping her backside.

"K-Korra…" her breathing hitched. Opal slipped Korra's robe from her shoulders exposing her breasts. In one swift motion Opal pushed the chair back from the table and knelt down in front of Korra sending her hands over her legs and trailing kisses on the inside of her thighs.

Oh dear God!

The pleasure Opal was providing was proving too much, she needed some release. Korra grabbed Opal's hand and placed it on her core, pleading with her. Opal seemed to get the message and slipped her hand into Korra's panties, tracing delicately around her wet center. This was entirely new to Opal, she had pleasured herself before, but to another woman? That was new.

"Like this." Korra panted, showing Opal what to do with her own hand, sending shockwaves through her body. Opal calmly repeated was Korra had demonstrated, her own center growing wet seeing Korra naked in front of her. With each motion of Opal's fingers, Korra was driven closer and closer to the edge, craving release.

"O-Opal…don't stop!" she yelled, cupping her breasts, chest heaving.

Opal's fingers increased their rhythm, it didn't take long for Korra to climax, the orgasm coursing through her body. She rode it out, clutching the side of the chair. When it subsided she looked down to Opal as she tried to catch her breath.

"God, Opal…that was amazing…"

Opal blushed a deep crimson and she stood up, crossing her legs. Korra could see the dampness in her shorts.

"Need some help with that?" Korra asked, smirking.

Someone rustling in the bed next to her woke Korra from her slumber. Opal turned over, mumbling something incoherently in her sleep.

Why am I in Opal's bed?

She looked down to find herself wearing a t-shirt and sports shorts. The TV across the room was on, credits rolling. The name "Chris Pratt" caught her eye.

That's right, we fell asleep watching Guardians of the Galaxy…

Ping!

Korra reached for her phone on the nightstand to see check the message.

Asami- Hey love, I'm on my way home. I should be there soon.

Dread filled Korra's heart.

Asami.

"Oh my God…" she whispered.

Well, I certainly didn't see THAT coming.

Her eyes snapped to the source of the words.

Good to see you too Korra.

Amon's voice felt like poison in her veins. The fear gripping her wouldn't let her move.

So Asami goes off to work, to find a…treatment is it? To help heal those damnable scars on your back? And you sit here at home…mopey. Whiny. You ask yourself, "Why me? Why won't Asami just come home?" Amon cackled, a horrible, deep laugh.

You take advantage of this poor little Beifong girl, act so selfishly, lead her on…and do that unspeakable thing in the kitchen this morning! How can you claim to be so devoted to Asami when you sleep around with another woman?!

"What have I done?!" she screamed.

Opal nearly jumped out of the bed at hearing Korra scream.

"Get out of my head!" Korra yelled.

She threw her phone across the room, shattering the TV screen. Tears streamed down Korra's face as Opal sat in stunned silence, not knowing what to do. She had never seen Korra have one of these episodes. She was curled up in a ball shaking uncontrollably, sobbing.

You betrayed her, you disgusting bitch. You don't deserve her.

"Stop! LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Opal moved to grab Korra, to try anything she could to help.

A hand on Korra's shoulder sent a pang of desperation through her. Amon was staring at her through his white and red mask, laughing maniacally. Something snapped in Korra, she was tired of running, tired of being hounded by this phantom. She launched herself at Amon, both of them crashing to the floor.

Opal didn't expect Korra to attack her, and was totally unprepared for the tackle. She hit the floor hard, the wind knocked from her lungs. She started to panic, unable to find her breath as Korra straddled her, screaming at her. Naga was in the room now, barking wildly, but anytime she moved close, Korra moved to hit her, confusing her. Opal gripped Korra's shoulders hard trying to tell her to stop, the words unable to form in her mouth.

Amon now at her mercy, Korra wrapped her hands around his throat trying to choke him.

This ends here. I'm going to kill you.

The sound of Naga barking immediately tipped Asami off that something was wrong. She ran into the house, frantically searching for the dog.

"NAGA?! Where are you girl?!" Asami yelled.

Naga came bounding into the room, barking wildly trying to get her to follow. Asami ran after down the West wing hallway.

"GET OUT! GET OUT!" Korra's screams echoed down the hallway.

Asami and Naga burst into Opal's room to find Korra on top of her strangling her, Opal's face turning a dangerously purple color.

"KORRA! STOP!" Asami screamed running to her side, trying desperately to pry her fingers from Opal's throat. "Korra!"

Korra could barely hear the other voice, her entire being focused on killing Amon. A soft hand on her cheek brought her back to reality. She saw her hands on Opal's throat, her face turning purple. She looked to the person beside her.

Asami.

What?

"Korra! Stop! Get your hands off of her!" Asami screamed, tears streaming down her pale cheeks.

Korra slowly released her hands, staring down at Opal in horror. Asami shoved her away picking Opal up and cradling her in her arms.

"Opal! OPAL!" Asami checked her pulse, still beating. Opal finally choked, gasping in air, the color starting to return to her face. "Oh thank God, thank God…" Asami hugged her close, tears still flowing freely.

Korra was on her knees staring at her hands.

What have I done? I nearly killed her...

"Korra…" Asami looked to Korra, her emerald eyes filled with a despair Korra hadn't seen before.

Korra looked to Opal who was unconscious, but breathing. She was breathing. If Asami hadn't stopped her, Opal would be gone.

"I almost killed her…" she whispered, tears welling in her eyes. She knew then what she had to do.

Korra looked into Asami's eyes as her own tears cascaded to the floor, "A-Asami I…I…" unable to finish her words, Korra ran from the room as fast as she could, grabbing her shoes.

"Korra wait!"

Korra didn't look back, she kept running through the hallways and out the front door. The cold night air greeted her as she distanced herself from the Sato estate, tears flying from her azure eyes.

I'm so sorry…
