Snowflake

A week had passed since my arrival date. I was constantly tired but it never occurred to me that Blizzard would be the one to tire me out so much. He came to my room every night and did what we did that first night. It lasted past midnight and I would be drained the next morning from the lack of sleep. He slipped in and out during these times and I had to prepare myself for bed alone.

It started to get on my nerves, but finally being in a relationship for the first time, I didn't want to break the news to him, in hopes he wouldn't leave me. The other snowflake fairies noticed my work slacking but they didn't question me about it.

Relieved that this was the last snowflake, I went about my deliveries. Glad that my day was busy for once, I had an excuse to not see Blizzard and have some time for myself. I had some free time after all my work was done, but Blizzard had his own work to do. Yawning loudly, I flew around the winter woods, stopping at the border.

I came here from time to time during my breaks. It helped relieve some stress. That wasn't the only reason though. I never told Blizzard this but that day we first kissed here, I felt an odd connection to this place. I thought that this was because of my old memories but most of them had faded since I got here.

Sitting on a snow mound in the tree, I felt myself grow drowsy. I don't remember much that happened after but I awoke to be on the warm side on a bed.

I was set on distracting myself from Snowflake. This meant me working harder than ever in the Autumn Woods, even if it wasn't my season yet. I was working myself so hard that the Minister of Autumn had to dismiss me from my work just so that I wouldn't get sick. Today being my break day, I dragged myself around Pixie hollow, envying the fairies that had work to do.

I sighed at myself; my thoughts were stupid and I should be enjoying myself for a change. With that thought in mind, I flew over to the border, happily engrossing myself watching the animals crossing. Even after they had all crossed, I sat there, not bothered to move from my spot. I think I was going to fall asleep until I saw a snow mound on the other side fall towards the ground.

Time slowed down and I saw a flash of wings, a platinum, blue and white blur. Completely ignoring the cold in my wings, I flew across the border, caught the fairy and flew back, aiming towards the infirmary on the warm side. Whilst flying, I remembered that winter fairies couldn't pass the border. Shocked, I looked down and saw Snowflake resting peacefully.

Like Blizzard, she was an exception; Winter fairies that arrive on the warm side can somehow keep their wings cold, even on the warm side. Slowing down, I flew to my house, setting her down on my bed. Feeling the soft covers thrown on her, she curled up, looking at ease.

Not that I didn't want to but, I didn't pay attention to her when she slept. It was wrong thing to just stare at her so I left the room, opting to make some tea and sit in silence till she awoke.

Snowflake

I woke up to hear a kettle boiling and the smell of warm tea. Seeing no white or even snow anywhere, I concluded that this was on the other side of the border. Alarmed, I looked to my wings, only to be calmed that they were cold and utterly normal. Groggily, I got out of the bed and took in my surroundings. The room was covered in hues of orange, brown and red, very similar to the Autumn Woods itself. The furniture was made out of polished wood and were all lined with soft moss and leaves.

Walking out, I was surprised to see a sparrow man sat down on a chair, sipping tea.

"Oh, you're awake?"

"I uh..." I stammered. I didn't know how to respond to him. I don't think I've met him before but he looked familiar...

"Snowflake right? I'm Redleaf"

"How do you know my name?" I queried

"Well, everyone in Pixie Hollow knows you're the winter fairy that just arrived... Everyone saw your arrival you know..."

"Right..." I blushed in response to my stupidity. I should know this by now!

"How are you feeling? You did fall off a tree..."

"Better, great even!" throwing my arms up to prove it. This only resulted in me toppling over and him catching me.

"Wow, you must be really tired."

"I guess so..."

I stared into his eyes and we said nothing. They seemed clouded with emotion but I dismissed that thought once I realized I was still in his arms. Coughing lightly, he realized this as well and immediately placed me down. Not only did this bring more confusion to me, it also brought the blush back to my face tenfold.

Redleaf

What on earth was my mind thinking?! How could I have forgotten about her? Shes still here in this other universe, which now I think of, I should be planning to get out of...

Just to relieve some awkwardness, I brought her some tea, which seemed to calm her down enough for us to start a conversation. It was a relatively silly conversation but it kept us talking until dinnertime. At some point I offered her to stay the night as it was too dark for her to see the way back, in which she agreed to quickly. It rose suspicions about her but I didn't want to pry in her privacy.

She slept first, taking my bed for the night. She insisted that, since she was a guest, she would sleep on the couch, but I said no. So now, I was lying under a few leaf blankets on the couch. I couldn't sleep; there were just too many thoughts running through my mind, all those directed to the fairy that was currently asleep on my bed.

Moving on from the topic of Snowflake, I started questioning myself on the reason why I was in this "other world", something that hasn't crossed my mind since. Did anyone else find this strange? Does anyone else know about this as well? I tried to think back to memories before this but only a vague memory seemed to have passed through. I was trudging though snow but I wasn't cold... Why had that come to mind?

Letting my mind rest, I decided to leave this trail of thought for tomorrow. Hopefully after a nights rest I would remember something. Perhaps even something important...

Last chapter of the holidays! If you'd check out my profile, you'll see that I have a possible tinkerbell story that may be up after this story ends. Unlike alot of other writers, I have started planning the story plot and it the first chapter should be fully written before this ends. So look forward to that :)
