"Horizontal desire"
Part 2
"Hit me again!" Elijah mumbled, dryly, between his teeth, to the bartender.
"Sir; it's really early in the day, you know?" The barman replied, uncomfortable.
"Is the lounge open or not?" Elijah growled, unhappy.
"Yes, it has been opened for the past ten minutes." The young man replied; nodding his head. "But… Maybe you want to cool it down a notch?"
"Then hit me again; and don't ask question!" Elijah ordered, while knocking the bottom of his glass on the bar counter. "You are paid to serve the clients, or am I mistaking?"
"Do you want another whiskey on the rock?" The barman inquired, apprehensive; to which the client nodded in approval. "It's coming right up!"
"Senor Elijah, is it you, how fancy to meet you twice in a day?!" He heard the acute Spanish voice calling him.
"Oh, you got to be kidding me!" Elijah stroked his eyelids. "Now you'll… You'll need to give me… Give me a double, or better … A triple!" Elijah signed the barman; before hitting his forehead on the counter. "What are you doing here, Lucinda?" He raised his head back; before grabbing the refill to drink the alcohol straight up.
"Well, Mister Mikaelson; I've just finished my daily errands; and I was walking in front of the lounge restaurant; when I caught a glimpse of you through the window, at the bar." The maid explained; while dropping all her groceries and shopping bags on the floor; before taking a sitting position beside him, on a bar stool. "Did you see my new hat, Senor Mikaelson?" She commented, proudly; while lowering her new buy on the counter.
"And what are … Are…You… Doing now?" He mumbled, crossed-eyes and with a tick tongue; while pointing a finger toward his ex-employee. "And … And … The hat is hideous on you!"
"I'm sitting by your side; and why are you getting drunk, all by yourself, in the early hours of the day, Senor Mikaelson?" Lucinda asked; while grabbing the empty glass from his hand. "You are drunk enough for today. Is it Senora Katherine who had put you in that present state of mind?"
"Don't … Don't pronnnnnounce her name, she's nothing to me!" He shook his head. "And… Gi….Give…Meee…My… My… empty glass back to me!" Elijah growled; while grabbing the glass back from Lucinda's hands. "Hit me again!" He ordered the barman, once more. "And, you should two…Three… Tree…"
"Are you trying to say "throw" perhaps, Senor Mikaelson?" Lucinda teased; while lowering her head to hide the urge to burst into laughter.
"Yes! Sorry…Throw… That woman out…Of … Thissss establishhhhment… She's public danger number 1!" Elijah suggested to the bartender, while pointing a finger toward the Spanish woman.
"What can I get you, Senora?" The young barman asked, politely, to Lucinda; while rolling his eyes to the ceiling, with a deaf ear to Elijah's say.
"Finally; there is a man who knows how to be a gentleman and treat me like a lady, you should take notes, Senor Mikaelson!" Lucinda commented all smile. "I'll take a Sangria; cariño." She ordered; winking to the young bartender. "Mm… I would let him slide his slippers underneath my bed that one." She whispered and eyed the young man' butt; while watching him walk away from their sitting positions, to grab a bottle on a shelf.
"How… How … Coooome…You can drink; and I … I can't?" Elijah pouted; adorably.
"I'm Spanish, Senor Mikaelson; I drink in my sleep." She shrugged; fatalist. "But, you … You, obviously, can't handle a drink or two."
"I cannnn….Han… Handle it fine; thank you!" Elijah replied; nodding.
"Here's your drink, Senora." The bartender presented the Sangria to Lucinda.
"Gracias Mi Amor!" Lucinda replied with a seductive smile plastered on her lips; before having the glass stole from her hands. "Senor Mikaelson, give me back my Sangria!"
"No! It's mine… You… You… for…forbad me to have my drink so, it's mine." Elijah mumbled, angrily, between his teeth; before drinking it.
"You want me to call my boss?" The barman suggested, in a low whisper, to Lucinda; while bending his upper body on the bar counter.
"Nada, I have this under control." The Spanish woman shook her head, her right hand buried in her handbag to reach her cellphone.
"Klaus Mikaelson?" He responded to his cellphone.
"Senor Klaus, we have a code red." Lucinda announced unceremoniously. "Can you talk? Is Senora Caroline with you?"
"Lucinda? Is this you, what's going on, are you ok?" Klaus inquired, while pushing the exit door leading him outside of the Network dance studios. "And no, she's not with me at the moment, I'm … I'm taking a break between practice…. And what is code red?" He wondered with big opened eyes.
"Dios, it's your brother, Senor Mikaelson." She rolled her eyes; while signing a cross in front of her chest.
"Elijah? What… What happened to my brother?" Klaus asked, surprised and concerned, at the same time.
"It's Senora Katherine." She added.
"Lucinda, is it Elijah or Katherine, for God sake?!" Klaus exclaimed, while nervously passing a hand through his tangled hair.
"You can't hurry "love" this way, Senor Klaus." She exclaimed, fatalist. "Phil Collins said it in his song, you remember?"
"Lucinda; is it for today or next year?" Klaus sighed, nervously.
"It's actually both, Senor Klaus." Lucinda commented. "Senora Katherine must have pushed your brother out of her life for good this time; and he found comfort at the bottom of a whiskey bottle." She rolled her eyes.
"Where is he now?" He asked, while re-entering the building premises.
"What is left of him is at the Central Plaza; Ocean Restaurant Lounge bar." The maid gave the information.
"I'm on my way." Klaus informed; while hurrying his walk to reach the dance studio.
"Will you get in trouble with Senora Caroline for missing a few hours of the practice, Senor Klaus?" Lucinda wondered out loud; with a raised eyebrow. "How's the cheese anyway?" She asked, teaser.
"The cheese is moldy… It's green, very green everywhere." Klaus mumbled, angrily; between his teeth.
"Dios, it's that bad with Senora Caroline, Senor Klaus?" Lucinda winced.
"Let just say that she won't miss me at all, if I take a few hours off the scheduling." He replied, frowning; before closing the exchange.
"Where have you been?" Caroline asked, dryly; when her dance partner came back to the dance studio, in a loud slam of the door.
"You forgot the "Mister Mikaelson" at the end of your sentence, sweetheart." Klaus winced, with a wrinkled nose. "You're losing your touch, Love?" He added, perniciously; while leading his steps toward his sport bag. He needed to retrace his car key. "And to reply, politely, to your question, I've been out and about."
"And where are you heading now?" She inquired more; while losing all colors. Was he leaving the competition for good? For an inexplicable reason, Caroline felt an enormous void invading her soul. A life without Klaus Mikaelson suddenly felt like a blue sky without sun.
"Out and about…" He replied, once more; unceremoniously.
"Fine, you … You want to ditch the practice, or even the competition? Fine by me, I won't retain you… I've…I've done enough as it is and now …" She stammered through her sentence, while stomping her feet on the wooden floor; closed fists placed on each side of her tensed body.
"It's not like you care about me or the competition, is it?" Klaus shrugged his shoulders; while grabbing his sport bag.
"Oh God, you got some nerves…Mister Mikaelson!" Caroline busted to his face; with much emphasize on his family name. She couldn't lose him, could she? She couldn't imagine her life without him, could she? The only thing to retain him was to fight!
""I" got some nerves, Miss Forbes, really? "I" got some nerves?!" Klaus turned on his heels, to retrace his steps toward her standing position. "If you need to know, I'm heading out, to help my brother."
"Elijah?" Caroline exclaimed, surprised. "Is he? I mean, did something happen to him?" She added, suddenly concerned.
"Yes, something happened to him alright, he fell in love with a woman!" Klaus growled. "He made mistakes, I give you that, but, his heart was and still is at the right place; he opened himself up to "her" and to he opened himself up to "love", he would probably die for her; but I'm not even sure that you know the concept; Miss Forbes?" He lashed out more to a petrified and white as aspirin Caroline. "I'll be back in about an hour. If you're here, fine by me – If you're not; I don't give a fucking damn, sweetheart." He added, before storming out of the studio.
"I just got your message on my voice mail; what's up?" Klaus asked, out loud; using his cellphone hand-free set, in his car.
"Actually two things; I just came across this shit of article, what in the name of God is that bullshit? But, don't you worry; I'll do damage control as quickly as possible." Katherine asked her protégé. "Who had the audacity to put that garbage in the newspaper, how's Caroline in all of this?"
"Well, sweetheart; if you hadn't been busy with my brother, doing "God knows what" for the past few days, you would have been up to date with the last development." Klaus smirked. "Caroline? Well; she had threat to hang my balls on her Christmas tree, one of these days; and now she's back at calling me: Mister Mikaelson."
"No comment for the first part, Klaus." The brunette sighed, loudly. "And, ouch for the second, it's that bad, mm? Don't tell me she believes you could have started that crap?"
"It's worst that you could even imagine, and let's just agree that she has a few doubts about me. And, you say no comment, because you don't have any to give; or because my brother shook your solid foundations once more and you return the favor, while pushing him out of your life?" Klaus wondered out loud.
"What do you mean?" Katherine asked, reluctantly.
"Well; apparently my brother is drowning his sorrow on the bottom of whiskey bottle at the moment; you wouldn't know anything about that fact, would you, Katherine?" Klaus asked, teaser.
"It will pass; and we'll be back to our own life in no time." She replied, falsely indifferent; her heart missing a few beats at Klaus's imply. Elijah had gotten drunk for her?
"So, you'll go for denial, mm, it's the easiest way out, would you say?" Klaus commented.
"What you want me to say, Klaus? It's your brother we are talking about." She replied, nervously. "You remember your brother, do you? The same and only that forced me out of his life ten years ago, and wanted to force you to work in his company?"
"Yes, my brother that couldn't get you out of his mind for the past ten years. It must be the same and only one." He teased. "The same man that you couldn't get out of your mind, either, for the same ten years, if I may add."
"I hate you!" She growled, not knowing how to respond.
"Yah, I love you too, Katherine." Klaus smiled. "What was the second thing?"
"What?" She replied, surprised.
"You said you were calling me for two things?" He informed.
"Oh, yes, sorry…. I'd received an offer for a male role in a film, two days ago, but now that I've seen the article; I wonder if it's not a scam related to this all fiasco?" She commented.
"What kind of role?" Klaus asked, sceptic.
"It's a stripper secondary role in the second sequel of "Magic Mike"." Katherine winced; while waiting for the fall out.
"Fuck!" Klaus growled, angrily; while hitting both of his fists on the steering wheel. "That is how the industry responded to a made-up article; by mocking the actor related to it."
"I'm sorry, Klaus; I had no idea it was a bad joke related to the article." Katherine sighed loudly. "There'll be other offers; with the publicity that the reality show is creating; we'll be back in business in no time." She tried to reassure her client and friend.
"In the meantime, sweetheart; I'll try to pick-up the pieces of my "heartbroken" brother." Klaus pushed the note.
"Klaus!" Katherine exclaimed, while rolling her eyes.
"Yah, yah … I know; you two fools will need an extra ten years before realizing both of your errors!" Klaus cut the conversation short.
"Drink this!" Klaus ordered his brother; while handing him a cup of extra strong, black coffee.
"This is embarrassing." Elijah mumbled, angrily, between his teeth; while grabbing the cup of coffee from his brother's hands, before sipping the hot beverage. "I'm sure you have other things to do than babysit me, Klaus?"
"Which part is embarrassing? Is it the fact that you were drunk because of Katherine, or the part that your Benjamin had to drag you out of a bar lounge or that your ex-maid had to witness your drunken state?" Klaus smirked, mocker. "It's a hard choice I give you that."
"All of the above!" Elijah winced; burying his nose inside the cup.
Klaus have had to drag his eldest out of the lounge; under his loud growls of protestation; before driving him back to his manor.
"Well, look at it this way. I'm sure Lucinda will tweet to all her female friends all day long about your little escapade." Klaus teased; before taking a sitting position on an armchair in front of Elijah's.
"Please, tell me you're joking?" Elijah raised his head and wide-opened eyes to stare at his brother.
"I wish, brother… I wish." Klaus winked. "She's like channel news all by herself. At least be happy that it's only in her close entourage."
"Lucky me, I guess?" Elijah frowned more. "What about you?" He inquired.
"What about me?" Klaus asked, shrugging.
"I've seen the last fiasco related to the newspaper article." Elijah commented; while massaging his sore temples; he couldn't remember the last time he had been so drunk?
"And I bet you can't wait to tell me that my desk chair is waiting for me at your company?" Klaus rolled his eyes.
"Actually, no… I was mostly just concerned for you and your dance partner, Miss Caroline Forbes." Elijah replied, sincerely.
"Are you sincere, no hidden agenda, "I told you so" or "what were you thinking joining this reality show" hidden somewhere?" Klaus replied, surprised.
"There is none whatsoever." Elijah shook his head; before lowering his empty cup on a side table. "I think you …I mean, I've seen you dance; and you're good at what you're doing."
"Appreciate that." Klaus nodded; highly surprised but appreciative at the same time. "Do I need to send a thank you note to Katherine for this sudden 360 degrees turn from your part?" Klaus teased.
Elijah sighed loudly, keeping silent; before rising on his legs to reach the bay window in his study room.
"Ok, erase what I've just said; obviously you're hurting and as for me, I just wanted to ease the tension with my dark humor." Klaus commented; while rising on both legs to join his brother. "It did not go as you expected with her, I presume?"
"Oh, it started on the right track; it's just that … She don't want to travel on that same track, toward the same destination, especially in my company." Elijah shrugged, fatalist.
"I see." Klaus crossed his arms in front of his chest; his sight lost in the outside garden. "I've known you more as a fighter, though?" He added, a smile raising the right corner of his manly lips.
"What you want me to do? Chained her to the bed?" Elijah questioned. "She's your agent; you know how stubborn she can be."
"You both are made from the same cloth, Elijah. And you've been miserable the past ten years without her." Klaus commented.
"Well, it's something that I'll need to live with, isn't it?" Elijah retraced his steps toward his desk; opened a drawer to grab a small bottle, before swallowing two aspirins. "Don't you have to be at the dance studio or something?"
"I'm on a break." Klaus mumbled, angrily; between his teeth.
"Is there trouble in paradise with your dance partner, Miss Forbes, and yourself; Nicklaus?" Elijah mocked, gently.
"The alcohol is starting to wear off as I can see?" Klaus frowned.
"Hey, it's only fair that your eldest brother noses into your love affair, as you are nosing into his." Elijah replied; grinning; while retracing his steps near his savor.
"How would you even know?" Klaus shook his head in amazement.
"Nicklaus; I'm older than you, but not dead yet." Elijah rolled his eyes. "Of course I've seen your infatuation for that young woman." He informed. "And I gather the article had put a gap between the two of you?"
"How did we manage to put ourselves in these romantic predicaments?" Klaus sighed; while shaking his head in disbelief.
"You mean, without having received an ounce of maternal love given to us in an early age?" Elijah said out loud; while retracing his steps in front of the bay window; both hands buried in his trousers' pockets.
"I've never thanked you for that." Klaus mentioned; a nervous lump being swallowed in his throat.
"For what?" Elijah replied, uncomfortable, with his sight kept in the blue sky.
"You've been the adult figure in my life, the big brother who took care of an infant when you were not much older yourself." Klaus took it within himself to finally thank his brother. "And all of this, even if you grew-up to be a pain in the ass, whose bogging me to join his damn company." He added, teaser.
"You should be thankful; I kind of lay off these on that subject, these days." Elijah replied, mocker. "There's no need to thank me, Nicklaus." He added, emotional, while clearing his throat; before turning his head to address a smile at Klaus.
"Well, then I need to thank my agent for keeping you busy." Klaus winked.
"Kol, it's Bill, do you receive me?" The cameraman heard in his headphone.
"Yap, clearly … what's up Bill?" Kol replied.
"Audience is starting to take their seats; so I would say an additional fifty minutes before the beginning of tonight's representation." Bill informed his employee.
"Perfect!" Kol commented. "Is there something else?"
"Could you just verify if the King and Queen of the microphones are getting ready with their makeup session?" Bill asked, hopeful that his employee would accept his request.
"Why me, Bill; can't you go check yourself?" The young man winced. "These two are like cat and dog; they are fighting all the time."
"For some unexplained reasons; you're able to calm them down." Bill tried flattery.
"Ok, I'll pass my head between the door and its arch." Kol rolled his eyes; while heading his walking path toward the backstage lodges; before raising his head and taking a glimpse at Caroline who was standing in front of him, her sight narrowed; and with both closed fists placed on each side of her hips.
"Wow… It's Care, my one and only best female friend in the all wide world, what a lovely surprise!" Kol nervously swallowed a lump in his throat; before taking a few steps backward. "And look at the time!" He added; while raising his left wrist to take a glimpse at his watch. "I need to be somewhere else just now; so I'll catch with you later, ok, darling?"
"I don't think so!" She sped toward the escaper; before grabbing his right ear lobe to pull him behind her heels.
"Aye; don't do anything rash now, Caroline; you're pulling on my ear, and it hurts!" Kol complained; frowning.
"Be happy that I'm only hurting your ear at the moment, and not another part of your anatomy." Caroline replied, dryly; before pushing her friend in a small kitchen annex room. "Why, Kol?" She asked, pouting; her arms crossed over her chest.
"Damn Caroline! You have one of those grips!" Kol commented; while rubbing the red skin on his earlobe.
"Well… I'm mad at you!" She replied, pacing back and forth in front of the vending machines; arms crossed over her chest. "Why would you tell Klaus that I was hiding in my apartment?"
"In all honesty, what was I supposed to do, Care, Mm?" Kol shrugged his shoulders; apologetically. "The poor man stormed inside the studio, with one inches of dark circles under his eyes. He seemed upset about that damn article and the damage it could cause; and more so, he seemed upset that it could hurt you."
"But, you're my friend, Kol." Caroline pointed a finger toward her chest; while holding her pacing. "You should have sided with me!"
"Don't you think I was supposed to do what I did? Helping my stubborn friend realize that it is highly possible that she is putting the Scarlett letter on the wrong man's head?" Kol replied. "I get that you're afraid, Caroline; Tyler hurt you during the past season; and to be frank I had my reserve about Klaus… But, the man is in a class of his own, and he truly cares about you, and I would bet that you truly care about him too, am I right?"
Caroline shrugged her shoulders; while shamelessly lowering her sight and flushed cheeks away from the insistent gaze of her friend.
"You like him a little?" Kol titled his head, a smirk spreading on his lips.
She shrugged again…
"You like him a lot?" Kol insisted, teaser.
She shrugged once more…
"Ok, I get it! You fell in love with his dashing English accent, blue eyes and dimples, didn't you?" Kol sighed loudly; while crossing his arms in front of his chest. "And now you're afraid that you had given your heart to the wrong man once again?"
"Don't you dare say a word to him, you hear me?" She pouted adorably; while pointing a finger toward Kol's chest. "Or I swear…"
"You'll hang my balls in your Christmas tree? Yah, yah … I know." He rolled his eyes.
"It's not funny, Kol!" She commented.
"My lips are sealed." Kol replied. "But don't you think that you should say a word or two to him instead?"
"No, I can't." She shook her head stubbornly; while swallowing a lump in her throat. "Even if my heart wants to believe him, I still … I'm afraid of being deceived once again."
"Ok, I need to go now, but in the meantime, listen to your "Uncle Kol" and stop being so stubborn, you hear me." He suggested; while grabbing both of Caroline's shoulders, pulling her near his chest to bless her forehead of a kiss.
"Please tell me you're not cancelling our date?" Kol responded to his cellphone; after glimpsing rapidly at the caller I.D.
"What? No … I was wondering what kind of wine you wanted?" Bonnie replied.
"What kind of wine?" Kol frowned.
"Yes, I mean white, red? I know that with Italian, red is preferable; but I wouldn't mind white if it's your liking?" Bonnie shrugged; while standing in front of a few shelves at a nearby liquors store.
"Oh … right, don't worry about that! I have a cellar fridge in my kitchen." Kol replied, smiling.
"Did I catch you at a bad time?" Bonnie raised her left wrist to glimpse at her watch. "Oh God, it's nearly the live representation, isn't it? I'm so sorry, I did not see the time; and I was standing in the liquors store; not knowing what kind to pick….and… Oh, I should have taking a look at my watch, what an idiot I am!" She stammered through her excuses.
"Nah; don't worry, darling." Kol replied; while hurrying his walking steps toward the makeup lodge. "And you're kind of cute when you're stammering because I make you nervous." He commented, smirking.
"Stop it!" She giggled, while lowering her flushed cheeks. "I'll let you reprise your work then, and I'm sorry if I caught you in a bad time."
"Actually, you were a breath of fresh air in this misery night!" Kol commented, wincing.
"You're having a bad time?" Bonnie inquired.
"The worst… I'm between giving advices to a reluctant, stubborn friend of mine…" He started listing.
"Caroline?" Bonnie asked.
"Yap… and I'm heading toward the makeup lodge to separate our two presenters." He concluded, with Bonnie's laughter coming to his ears. "Hey; don't you dare laugh at my misery?" He teased.
"I wouldn't dare. I'll see you later." She added, shyly.
"I look forward to it." Kol replied, a smile spreading on his manly lips, from ear to ear.
Elijah breathed in and out a few times, before finding the courage in himself to knock a few times on the wooden door. He had changed his clothes. He was now wearing a dark blue jeans, a pair of leather loafers; and a grey t-shirt with a safari jacket.
The door finally creaked on its arch; with Katherine facing her visitor; a slight surprise showing on her facial expression.
"Elijah…What… What are you doing here?" She tried to articulate; before letting a loud sigh escape her lips.
"Because you start to yell and quick a good thing, like you always do." Elijah started to explain.
"I yell and quick only in your presence, Elijah." Katherine responded; before crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"And you do it in such an adorable way, if I may add." He added, with a puppy face expression, while titling his head.
"What are you doing here?" She rolled her eyes, a wide range of shivers hitting her spine, all at once, at the subtle scent of his spicy aftershave. "I've told you earlier, that…"
"I brought a piece offering!" Elijah cut her short in her sentence; while raising a box of chocolate ice cream and two spoons. "No more flowers or expensive dinner, just … Just a sweet gesture, can we talk?" He offered, shyly.
"Elijah; you can't… You can't keep doing this." Katherine shook her head. "I specifically asked you to … To simply respect my wishes."
"Then, what would I be if I wasn't able to fight for the woman I love, a coward, Katherine?" He replied, while drowning his sight in hers.
"What did you just say?" She asked, breathless and in shock; with her heart skipping a few beats…. The woman he loves?
"Can we discuss inside? Please? I just want to share this ice cream with you and talk for a little while?" He begged; taking Katherine by surprise by pushing the door panel on its arch, before passing by her side, to enter the apartment.
"Elijah! I've specifically said no! Which part did you not understand?" She mumbled, furiously, between her teeth, the door being slam shut behind her back; before following his steps toward the living room.
"Just five minutes, is that so difficult for you to grant me? And plus, the ice cream is melting, it would be a waist." He suddenly held his say, froze at the entrance of the room; while eyeing the visitor. "Mason?"
"Elijah." Mason replied, politely; with a nod. "What is bringing you here?"
"I could ask you the same question?" Elijah inquired, a deep breath being taken in his lungs to calm him down.
"I wasn't aware I needed to make you accountable of my actions?" Mason shrugged. "Call me a fool, but I believe that I don't owe you any explanation, Elijah."
"It depends? If you're after my woman, yes, you owe me a good explanation." Elijah announced, unceremoniously; both closed firsts placed on each side of his tensed body.
"What… What did you just say?" Katherine exclaimed, furiously; both hands pulling on her hair. "Did you just say "your woman"? Who do you think you are, Elijah?"
"You heard me, Katherine! Or do you prefer for me to spill it out in front of Mason?" Elijah growled; while turning to face her. "I'm the man that you've shared your bed with a few hours ago, remember me?" He lashed out to her face.
"I do remember, Elijah." Katherine startled, redness reaching both of her cheeks; before raising her chin to stare into his dark eyes. "It was a moment of weakness, when two past acquaintances rekindle what used to be, but it is nothing more."
"You got to be kidding me!" Elijah busted out loud. "And you? You will take back a woman who just shared a night of passion with another man? What makes you anyway, Mason, a substitute for the real thing?"
The said man raised his head and sight toward Katherine; only to notice a silent prayer addressed to him, in her teary eyes. Obviously; she wanted for him to play along; to lie openly to Elijah; to go against his own integrity…Which apparently, he would agree to do for her.
"Maybe it was you all along who was playing the substitute part, Elijah; did you ever think of that?" Mason replied, tit for tat.
Elijah startled at Mason's say; before raising his right hand to strike his eyelids.
"Why are you doing this, Katherine?" Elijah questioned; in shock. "Give us a try; please… Don't throw this second chance away." He shook his head, begging for her indulgence.
"I'm sorry, Elijah … I… I have the most respect for the successful business man that you have become, but I don't believe in …" Katherine stammered, nervously, through her explanation; before lowering her head and teary eyes away from his insistent gaze. Obviously, she was not able to lie to his face. "I don't believe in rekindling our past relationship."
"She agreed to give "us" a chance, Elijah; you should respect "her" decision." Mason added, uncompromising.
"Wow!" Elijah closed his eyes; taking deep breathes into his lungs. "Well, obviously; it's not my place to be here then." He added, while storming by Katherine's side to lead his rapid pace toward the entrance. "I wish you both to be happy!" He added; before slamming the door behind his back.
A deep and sinister silence filled the empty space of the apartment for a few seconds; leaving the young woman with an empty heart.
"He left … He finally left." She managed to let the words out of her mouth; before collapsing on her leather sofa; her head buried in her hands.
"It's going to be alright." Mason kneeled by her side; his arms wrapping around her frail silhouette.
"I'm so sorry, Mason; I've just put you in the worst position, did I?" Katherine realized, through her sobbing.
"Why would you do this to yourself, Katherine? Why would you send the man that you love, away from you this way?" Mason questioned, surprised; while cupping her face in his hands. "Especially, after telling that we wouldn't have any chance together; that you have feelings for someone else? There was no need for me to be Einstein to figure out that you had given your heart, once more, to Mikaelson." He rolled his eyes. "Here… Blow your nose." He picked up a Kleenex from a near box, before handing it to her.
"That's the thing; I've never stopped loving him the past ten years." She blew into the Kleenex. "And as for why I put you in this bad predicament and lie; and throw him out of my life…" She tried to articulate.
"Yes?" Mason wondered, while caressing her cheeks.
"It's because I'm afraid that he'll throw me out of his life; like he did in the past. I could not recover from it this time." Katherine confessed, humbly; tears rolling on her cheeks.
"Well, that explains a lot." Mason sighed; before pulling the young woman in his arms, to console her.
"Come back here you asshole!" The acute female voice echoed into the corridor.
"What did you just call me, Esther?" Mikael turned back on his heels, to face his ex-wife; both closed first placed on each side of his tensed body.
"Oh, why me…. What did I do to deserve this hell, today?" Kol sighed, while raising his right hand to stroke his eyelids.
"The mere thought of you makes me want to vomit." The blonde lashed out to the presenter's face; while raising her chin in a confrontational gesture. "You're a vainglorious, pretentious pig!"
"I don't even need a thought of you, just seeing your face is enough for me to jump over a bridge!" Mikael busted out in return of her insult.
"Time out you two!" Kol yelled as an order, while making them both startled under the surprise call.
"Kol, young man; is there any way of improving the makeup session?" Mikael inquired.
Kol frowned, one raised eyebrow, crossed arms in front of his chest; before turning his sight toward Jeanine, one of the makeup artists; who stood in setback.
"I have no idea what he's talking about?" The young woman shrugged, apologetically. "But; I need to get them inside as rapidly as possible." She added; impatient.
"What are you talking about?" Kol asked the presenter, while shrugging.
"Like I've mentioned many times before, but no one is obviously listening…" Mikael rolled his eyes.
"It's probably because the sound of your voice makes their teeth cringe!" Esther commented.
"Well, she has a good point." Kol retained a smile.
"The makeup on her is completely wrong; I can still see my ex-wife's ugly face!" Mikael pointed toward Esther, before pulling his tongue at her.
"And it would be way easier if this young lady could cut his head off!" Esther replied, tit for tat. "Such ugliness in television should be forbidden."
"Yah, that's it, cover your attraction for me under these lies, Esther; it's much easier to you, isn't it?" Mikael mumbled, angrily, between his teeth; while bending his upper body near hers.
"Attraction for you, are you drunk again? In your dream, I would prefer to go out with a prison inmate than having to endure your presence by my side!" She counterattacked.
"That's enough, children!" Kol yelled a higher octave. "Now, just shut the fuck off! You're being paid a fortune to do this damn job; and the employees are not here to endure your weird romantic quarrels or crazy state of mind!" He added, furiously. "Enter the damn lodge and let this lady do her damn job, am I clear?"
Both presenters rolled her eyes to the ceiling, while mumbling incoherent words, between their teeth, before re-entering the lodge.
"Wow! How did you do that?" Jeannine, the young makeup artist wondered.
"If only I knew." Kol closed his eyes, while sighing loudly.
"Will you avoid talking to me forever, Matt?" Rebekah exclaimed; while standing in the corridor, in front of her personal lodge, arms crossed over her chest.
Matt held his pace; before taking a deep breath into his lungs.
"I'm not avoiding you." He replied, while keeping his back turned to her sight. "I'm heading toward the makeup lodge." He replied, informatively.
"Yes, you are!" She stipulated, dryly. "Since, we … Well, you know; you barely spoke to me; and you're passing by my side in the corridor, and purposely avoiding me."
"I've told you, I'm not." He shook his head.
"Then, have at least the decency to look in my direction, into my eyes, when you're talking to me." Rebekah replied.
Matt turned on his heels; before retracing his steps toward her.
"You should lower your voice, you don't want anyone to be mix in our business, Rebekah." He suggested; before grabbing her left upper arm to push her inside the lodge, closing the door behind their back a second later.
"Oh, you got some nerves, Donovan! Anyone in particular or you mean your precious April?" She questioned, loudly; both closed fits placed on each side of her tensed body.
"Lower your voice, Rebekah; for God sake!" Matt warned her, once more; while turning his head toward the door.
"You're… You're ashamed of me?" Rebekah realized, with a tone of sadness.
"Why would you say something like that?" Matt exclaimed, while grabbing his head with both hands. "You're unbelievable!"
"Well; you're avoiding me… You're … You have not said a single word to me in the practice, since we had sex." Rebekah listed, arms crossed over her chest.
"I don't have sex, Rebekah." Matt mumbled, angrily; between his teeth.
"Well, when we "made love" then; whatever you want to call it… So, what am I supposed to think, Matt?" She asked, agitated. "Of course, the only thing that would come to my mind is that you're ashamed of me, or you're ashamed of what we did?" She shrugged.
"I'm not ashamed of you, Rebekah, ok?" Matt said, once more; before nervously passing a hand through his tangled hair.
"Then what is it?" She lashed out to his face. "I feel like I'm a whore at the moment."
"I'm ashamed of myself, alright, happy now?" Matt busted to his dance partner.
"I … I don't understand?" Rebekah stammered, redness reaching both of her cheeks.
"What kind of a man cheats on his girlfriend; and use you on the side the way I did?" Matt explained. "You deserve more, Rebekah; way more, as April deserves more too."
"Oh…Ok, now I get it." She rolled her eyes; while biting into the thin skin of her bottom lip. "You're the poor guy who wanted a one night stand, but who doesn't want to acknowledge it, because of his girlfriend."
"Don't say it like that, it makes what happened between us, and my relationship with April, seem cheap." He shrugged, disdainfully.
"Oh; I'm so sorry, did I offend your big ego, Mister Donovan - "I want the cake and eat it too"!" Rebekah lashed out more; while furiously grabbing the handle to open the lodge door. "Get out of my lodge and of my sight!"
"Rebekah, please; hear me out." Matt begged her to reconsider.
"I've heard enough, Matt. Let just put "whatever this was" behind us; and concentrate on the competition." She added, toneless.
"Don't be like that." He shook his head; while getting out of the lodge, before facing her. "I have a relationship of several years on my hands, I can't in all justice, toss it away so easily." He tried to convince her.
"I'll see you on the dance floor." Rebekah informed, before slamming the door to his face.
"Oh Rebekah, please don't do this." Matt whispered, eyes closed, forehead leaning on the panel.
"So, I've heard the latest news." Stefan commented; a rictus raising the right side of his lips.
"Really, that is your new flirting approach now, Stefan?" Elena Gilbert shrugged her shoulders; falsely indifferent. "And what rumor was it this time?" She inquired. "You'll have to excuse me but I'm late for my makeup session." She finally informed, while leading her walk toward a nearby corridor.
"Oh, don't be shy, Elena; it doesn't suit you." Stefan added, smirking. "The cruel approach is so much more your style." He commented more. "I've read about your break-up with my brother."
The brunette held her pace; while closing her eyes and sighing loudly.
"It lasted what? Four months, if my calculation is right?" Stefan whispered near her right ear; his head at a near inch of hers.
"My love life is certainly not of your business." She replied, dryly; while turning on herself to face him.
"True; but the one of my brother still is." He commented, arched eyebrows. "And I did not like that you cruelly put all the blame on him, while perfectly knowing the kind of snake you can be to save your own skin."
"What is it, Stefan? You want me back; is that what you're trying to say?" She asked, perniciously.
"Ah, Elena, Elena, Elena … When will you pull your head out of your big ass?" Stefan exclaimed, laughing. "I've tasted the poison already; it was a bit too sour for my taste." He winked, before strolling by her side, hands buried in his trousers' pockets, in direction of the makeup lodge.
"You're a jerk, Salvatore!" She yelled, stomping her feet on the floor. "And my ass is anything but big; if you want to know!" She added, over his loud laughter.
"We should be ok, we did not practice as much as usual; this week, but we should be ok." Caroline paced back and forth in front of the backstage curtain, while biting into her nails and trying to convince herself of her own say.
"Feeling a little bit under the weather, Miss Forbes?" Klaus inquired, perniciously; to push her button.
"No, I'm perfectly fine, Mister Mikaelson; thank you for asking." She took a rapid glimpse at his direction; before rolling her eyes to the ceiling. "It was really kind of you to be here for the live representation; should I write you a thank you note?"
Here we go! Her walls were up … Yet, once again!
"Aren't you thoughtful, tonight; Miss Forbes." Klaus winced. "It won't be necessary; actually looking at your dress is more than a thank you note for me."
Caroline frowned; wrinkling her nose… There was something with his tone of voice that sounded truthful?
"What is wrong with my costume?" She asked, perplexed.
"Oh believe me; nothing is wrong with the outfit, Miss Forbes." He smirked; while taking a peak between the curtains. The live audience was slowly starting to take their sitting positions.
"Something is wrong, or you … I mean, I know you… You wouldn't comment if something was not wrong to the eyes?" She complained, her sight inspecting the layers of white veil surrounding her body.
"It's a bit see-through." He shrugged, while enjoying her misery much more than he should. "I'm not complaining."
"What? How much see-through is it?" She exclaimed, in shock, while grabbing the veil in her hands. "Why didn't you say anything for God sake?"
"Why? Well… You basically forbid me to talk to you, Madam the Professor." Klaus rolled his eyes. "And what is the fuss all about, Miss Forbes; we're dancing a rumba, the dance of love, shouldn't we be naked? In your case, you already are."
"Oh my God, it's that much?!" Caroline realized; grabbing her head with both hands. "I'm wearing a thong underneath; does it … Does it show?" She asked him, in a lower tone of voice.
"Oh, it's showing alright!" Klaus let laughter escaped his lips.
"Oh you … You … You're having way too much pleasure at torturing me!" She pointed a finger toward his muscular chest.
"What is the big deal, Caroline? Oh, I'm sorry, I'm mean Miss Forbes?" Klaus asked. "We have a sensual routine on our hands to show to the audience and the judge; showing a bit of skin goes with the territory; and if you want I can undress; if you would feel more at ease that way?" He suggested, impatient.
Caroline let a loud sigh escape her lips; before turning her back at him, arms firmly crossed over her chest; tears reaching her eyes.
"Caroline, come on?" Klaus raised his right hand toward her standing position. "You're breathtaking, you're beautiful … All the men who will be watching the live presentation could only dream of dancing with you."
"Or to pay for my services, Mister Mikaelson; dress the way I am; I don't see why they wouldn't believe the newspaper allegations." She sniffed, loudly.
Damn Mikaelson! He had completely forgotten about the damn article for a second or two … And, now he could understand why she was feeling this way.
"Caroline… I'm sorry… For a split second, I forgot." He shook his head; truthful; before passing a rapid hand through his tangled hair. "It's see-through, but in a sexy way; not in a trashy way." He added, to reassure her.
"You promise?" Caroline turned to face him; hopeful.
"Cross my heart; hope to die." He let a smile spread on his manly lips, with a raised eyebrow.
They stared at each other for a few seconds; before hearing the camouflage cries of arguments; coming from behind another curtain.
"What is going on?" Caroline started, before feeling Klaus's hand covering his mouth.
"Shush!" He suggested remaining silent, because a glimpse of the conversation had attracted his attention…
"They've opened an investigation; do you grasp the concept, Camille?" Marcel whispered to the stoic young woman.
"In French we say: On ne fait pas d'omelettes sans casser des oeufs!" She replied, dryly; arms crossed over her chest.
"And whatever that means?" Marcel gestured with both arms, nervously; while pacing back and forth.
"It means that you can't do scrambled eggs without breaking the shell!" Camille gave the explanation.
"And so little that maxim does to us now, would you say?" He growled. "If the Network ever retraces the article to "us"; we'll be out of the competition, and then what, mm?"
"You wanted this, Marcel; you wanted to win by all means necessary." She pointed a finger toward his muscular chest. "Don't point the finger at me for your own doing."
"I've never wanted for Caroline to be …" He replied, furiously.
"You've never wanted for Caroline to be what?" They both heard a loud male voice questioned Marcel.
"It's not what you think, Klaus; it's not." Marcel shook his head; while swallowing a lump in his throat. "Give …Give me one minute to explain, ok?"
"You know what I'm going to give you, Mate?" Klaus replied, furiously; before grabbing Marcel by the collar to push him toward the opposite wall. "What any man like you deserve." He added, before punching him in the face.
Marcel stumbled on the floor, disoriented for a few seconds; before raising his right hand to rub his cheek and jaw.
"You're right! I'm a jerk and I deserve this, but … Let me …" Marcel tried to make amends.
"I don't want to hear a single word coming out of your mouth." Klaus busted to the man's face, while pointing a finger toward his sitting position. "If you had some kind of vendetta against me, you should have come at me, like a man. But, instead you've chosen to hurt Caroline the way you did."
"What the fuck is going on in here?" Kol stormed by their sides, the minute he heard the commotion. "The audience can probably hear you, lower your voices!"
"Ask him!" Klaus busted; while nodding toward Marcel who was getting back on his feet. "He's the one who put the article in the newspaper."
"Shit!" Kol exclaimed; before raising his right hand to strike his closed eyelids. "Dick move, man … Dick move."
"And you how could you?" Caroline turned toward Camille. "I've never done anything to you, Camille!"
"It's a competition Caroline; and you were my biggest threat, nothing personal." Camille shrugged.
"I will give you: nothing personal." Caroline mumbled, angrily, between her teeth; before raising her right closed fist in the air.
"Wow, wow, wow…No one is punching tonight, you hear me!" Kol placed himself between the two couples, opened arms and palms as barriers gesture. "You are on stage in less than five minutes, it's not the right time to start world war III, and so if I was you; I would seriously reconsider."
They all starred at each for a few seconds; steam coming out of their ears, closed fists placed on each side of their tensed bodies.
"Good! Now move along." Kol ordered them, before letting a sigh of relief escape his lips; when they all took their positions on the footbridge.
"What happened? I could hear the commotion from here?" Rebekah asked Caroline, in a low murmur.
"We know who had put the article in the newspaper." Caroline whispered back to her friend.
"What? Oh my God… And, the traitor is inside the Network?" Rebekah exclaimed, in shock; with a mouth opened expression plastered on her face. "Stay strong, Caroline… Ok?"
"Well, my dear Esther; if you had worn this kind of see-through outfit during our time together as dancing partners, I would have reconsidered staying married to you." Mikael commented in his microphone; while triggering general laugher in the audience.
"Oh but I do wear them, my dear; just not for you." Esther replied, grinning; with an additional laughter coming from the audience.
Mikael winced at the insult of his ex-wife; before grabbing his chart to announce the next dance.
"One of the favorite pairings of this season: Klaus Mikaelson and his dance partner Caroline Forbes, dancing a sensual Rumba on the original version of: Love never felt so good."
One, two, three
Baby, love never felt so good
And I doubt if it ever could
Not like you hold me, hold me
Oh baby
"Rip my shirt opened." Klaus murmured into Caroline left ear; while sensually sliding his opened palms from her shoulders to the length of her arms, before letting his fingers softly encircling her wrists.
"What?" She questioned.
"Do it." He encouraged her.
She twirled on herself; the layers of veil from her costume caressing her silhouette. She slowly raised both of her opened palms on his chest; before ripping the white silk shirt opened, only to toss the fabric on one corner of the dance floor a second later.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSES
"Are you seducing me on the dance floor, Miss Forbes?" Klaus mocked, while feeling her hands caressing the soft skin of his chest, before twirling once more on herself; to sensually slide her bare back, downward; on the length of his body.
Oh… How good! She was teasing all right; the tightness of his silk pants was the proof.
"Maybe I am, Mister Mikaelson." She whispered, slightly teaser.
APPLAUSES
Love never felt so fine
And I doubt if it's ever mine
Not like you hold me, hold me
And the night's gonna be just fine
Gotta fly, Gotta see, I can't wait,
I can't take it cause
He suddenly grabbed both of her wrists to pull his dance partner up on her feet; before bringing her arms around his neck, his hands starting their descend on each side of her exposed body; cupping her breasts, sensually, slowly, passionately; before sliding them toward, on her thighs, only to raise the veils of fabric on her legs.
"This was not in the routine." Caroline managed to whisper, breathless; a range of shivers hitting her body all at once.
"Oh I know, Love; I've just decided to improvise." Klaus smirked; before raising Caroline in his arms to reprise the routine with a pirouette.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSES
Baby,
Every time I love you
In and out my life
In and out baby
Tell me
If you really love me
It's in and out my life
In and out baby
So baby
Love never felt so good
"You… You should have told me about it." Caroline whispered; while placing herself behind Klaus's back; her hands suddenly sliding on each side of his waist, before rising on his shoulders, to finally cross them around his neck. His hips balancing on a tempo that would have damn a saint; and a "saint" at the present moment, she was not! She thought to herself, redness reaching both of her cheeks.
"Making love is natural, Caroline; it shouldn't be any different on the dance floor." He commented; before grabbing her hands placed at his neck to pull her lifeless body on the length of dance floor. "And I'm surely making love to you now."
ROUND OF APPLAUSES
Baby
Everytime I love you
It's in and out my life
In and out baby
Tell me
If you really love me
It's in and out my life
Driving me crazy
Cause baby
Love never felt so good
Alright that's fine
He raised Caroline, on his left pelvic side; making them twirl several times, before sliding her body on the wooden floor; finding himself in top of her shivering body, a second later.
"Can I give you a kiss, Miss Forbes?" He suggested; his fiery sights drown in hers.
"It's … It's not in the routine. Mister Mikaelson." Caroline replied, her hands cupping his face. "And people will talk afterward?"
"And I should give a fuck about that, should I?" He smirked; before crashing his mouth on hers; under the, once again, loud cheering and applauses of the live audience.
(Michael Jackson - Love Never Felt So Good Lyrics – Original off beat version)
"Hi!" Bonnie saluted, shyly; waving her right hand at Kol; while holding a plastic bag, with her left.
Kol had opened the front entrance door of his apartment and was standing with a smile dressing his lips, a short trimmed bear on his face; a pair of ripped jeans dressing his legs, and an opened white shirt, his chest. God, have mercy on my soul! Thought Bonnie; while eyeing his all allure for a few seconds, light shade of redness coloring both of her cheeks.
"Oh you, come here? You're an angel send by heaven!" Kol exclaimed, pulling Bonnie inside the comfort of his arms, before closing the entrance door with his right foot.
"Oh! Hi… Did something happen at work?" Bonnie replied, her chin resting in the hollow of his left shoulder, surprised by this sudden embrace.
"Mm, you could say that… You smell good." Kol commented; inhaling the delicate smell of her perfume behind her left earlobe. "And you feel good, so good also." He caressed Bonnie's hair; his lips leaving a trail of kisses on her jaw line.
"Glad to help." Bonnie swallowed a lump in her throat, a range of shivers hitting her entire body all at once.
"Where are my manners?" Kol commented; before grabbing her chin. "Hi!" He greeted, a smile spreading on his lips; before blessing her parted lips of a kiss.
"Hi yourself…" She responded, while returning his kiss. "What happened?"
"Frankly, I don't know where to start?" He shook his head, while rocking Bonnie in his arms; his chin placed on top of her head; his hands buried in her brown curls. "Between the two presenters going at it backstage, Klaus and Caroline finding out who had put the article in the newspaper, and Rebekah shouting at Matt Donovan's head; I had my hands more than full. They've managed to drain me out of my energy. And the only thing that kept me going was the thought of you."
"Wait, what? They know who put the article?!" Bonnie exclaimed in shock; while raising her head to bury her sight in Kol's.
"Yes, but legally I can't tell you who it is; because of my contract with the Network, and relation to the show." Kol winced. "I'm sorry; it's not that I don't want to tell you, Bonnie." He added, caressing her left cheek.
"Oh, no … It's completely fine, I totally understand. It's that bad?" Bonnie questioned.
"Let just say that the news of who did it, was totally unexpected and totally bad at the same time." Kol shrugged. "But, the up side of it is that it cleared Klaus's name."
"Yah, I agree. At least that is a blessing for him and Caroline." Bonnie nodded in approval.
"What do you have in your bag there?" He asked, curious, and while smirking.
"Oh, this… I brought desert!" She exclaimed, joyfully; while raising the bag in her right hand. "You've told me that you had a wine fridge; so I changed my mind, and I thought that Italian Cannoli would be nice for dessert instead?"
"It sounds good. But, is there something hidden underneath this need of yours to feed me, Miss Bennett?" Kol questioned, all smile; while taking the bag from her hands, before dropping it in top of a nearby table.
"I just …" Bonnie stammered; still red as a tomato.
"I'm not complaining, Bonnie; I like your motherly ways toward me." Kol teased, winking.
"I'm not mollycoddling you … Don't say that!" Bonnie let laughter escape her lips, and a smile spread on red lips…So red, that Kol couldn't stop staring at them. "We are still standing in the entrance?" She wondered, shyly.
"I know." Kol replied, smirking; before pushing the blue pashmina scarf, placed on her shoulders, down on her arms; to be soon thrown on a nearby armchair. "You look hot." He commented; his fiery sight sliding on the entire length of her body.
She was wearing a strapless, short black dress; with a deep cleavage, and a set of petticoats underneath the skirt.
"Hot and sexy …" He added; his lips reaching the delicious curb of her neck, to leave a hot trail of kisses on her delicate skin; with his hands sliding from her higher back, to her waist, to finally caress the roundness of her buttocks. "Thanks for the dessert, darling; but I'm so ready for the appetizer now, are you?" He whispered, nibbling on her earlobe, with both of his hands raising the hem from the back of her skirt; before sliding his wandering fingers underneath the silk fabric of her panties to caress the silky skin. "Oh Bonnie, I want you so much."
Bonnie grabbed Kol's shoulders to retain her equilibrium; she was left under his sensual spell; and between the dizzy spell, the heat wave spreading in her entire body, and the increasing heartbeats inside her chest; she could easily faint at any moment now.
"But, but … You've just said that you were ready for the appetizer?" She stammered, nervously.
"It's exactly what I've said, darling." Kol agreed, while nibbling on the right corner of her lips. "I'm meant "you" as the appetizer, Bonnie. I thought we could skip the date, and it's just an idea, of course." He added, sensually; while raising his fiery sight in hers.
"Oh… I … Ok." She finally realized the meaning behind his say; stammering through her response.
"If you're not ready to be with me; just say it; I would never push the issue." Kol grabbed her chin to raise her sight in his. "You know that about me, don't you?" He questioned. "But, if you're in agreement, I need to be with you, now."
"Yes, I know that you wouldn't push me. And, I want to be with you too…Now." Bonnie nodded, in agreement; before raising both of her hands to open the buttons of his shirt. One by one, slowly, sensually … While blessing his lips of a kiss, each time one was opened, to finally pushed the fabric, downward, on the length of his arms, before throwing it on the wooden floor. She, then, raised the palm of her hands on his bare chest, enjoying the softness of his skin underneath her fingertips.
"What are you doing to my heart, body and soul, Bonnie Bennett?" Kol asked, panting; his finger pushing down the zipper of her dress; before sliding the silk at her feet.
"Probably what you're doing to me." She replied, raising her hands on his shoulders; with her fingers sliding in the longer stands of his hair, at the base of his neck.
"God, you're so sexy!" Kol exclaimed, while sliding his hands on her waist, down on her hips; before raising the young woman in his arms.
"Oh!" She exclaimed, surprised; before letting laughter escape her lips.
Kol's bedroom had a masculine trend, but with a few feminine touches, here and there.
He gently dropped Bonnie's body on the lace bedspread; before bending his upper body to bless her parted lips of a kiss.
"It's my mom's." Kol gave the explanation as for the bed cover.
"Oh, it's beautiful." Bonnie commented, a smile blessing her lips.
"It's one of the things I kept from her as a souvenir." He shrugged, emotional.
"Of course, it's natural this way." Bonnie replied, while strengthening her body in a sitting position, arms crossed over her lace bra.
"Bonnie, it's not because my mother's bedspread is on my bed and room, that she is watching us, right now." He read her mind; a smirk rising both corners of his lips.
"Oh … Of course not, I'm acting silly, aren't I?" She let a nervous laugh escape her lips, her right hand passing though her brown curls, before lying back on the bed.
"You're adorable." Kol commented, while pushing his jeans at his feet; before slowly sliding himself on top of her shivering body; his hands grabbing her waist to raise her pelvic in direct contact with his obvious physical desire for her; with his lips finding the delicious curb of her neck.
"Oh Kol…" She moaned, her hands caressing the skin of his back; while her legs were easily encircling his waist.
"Oh baby; you're way more delicious than cannoli, let me tell you." He grinned, before pushing down on her arms, the straps of her bra, before sucking one of her hard nipples between his lips, the tip of his tongue striking the hard tip, while his fingers reached the fire burning in her core; slowly sliding underneath the fabric to softly rub her folds.
"Oh…" Bonnie closed her eyes, while letting out a loud cry of pleasure.
"But I promise we'll eat them for dessert." He whispered; his lips slowly descending toward the belly…. And then lower… much lower …
Who cares about Cannoli? Appetizer was so much more delicious …
"Hi, Lucinda; is Mister… I'm sorry…I mean, is Klaus there? I would like to talk to him?" Caroline asked; shyly; standing in front of the penthouse entrance door; while nervously rubbing her hands together.
"Dios, Jesus Maria and all the saints… You came, Senora Caroline, come, come, enter!" Lucinda exclaimed, joyfully; before grabbing the young woman's left wrist to pull her inside the entrance corridor of the penthouse. "I've watched tonight's performance and Santa Maria!" She added, while signing a cross in front of her chest. "It was "hot"; you two, you made passionate love on the dancing floor. Lucinda had to ventilate herself with a fan! Can you spell "caliente" because it was hot, hot…hot! It reminded me of a past torrid relationship with Roberto, one of my many lovers." She pulled Caroline behind her heels to enter the living room.
"Oh … You… You saw it." Caroline stammered, redness reaching both of her cheeks.
"Sí Senorita Caroline, me and millions of other viewers. The night of the live representation, I stay here and watch it on the big plasma screen." Lucinda explained, while grabbing her handbag. "I need to leave now, I've called a taxi and it should be downstairs soon." She added. "Senor Klaus is in the shower, he should get down soon, or you can also go upstairs to join him, Senora Caroline." She winked at the young woman. "That will be our little secret…My lips are sealed!"
Caroline closed her eyes, a rictus raising the right side of her lips…. This was Lucinda at her best!
"Thank you, Lucinda, but I'll wait for him, in the living room, if you don't mind." She informed, politely.
"Now, before I go, Senora Caroline." Lucinda started, leading her short legs toward a bookshelf. "Here are a few candles." She retraced her steps toward Caroline, who raised an eyebrow in suspicion, while holding the said candles in her hands. "And you know where the "bebida alcoholic" is?"
"What?" Caroline asked with wide eyes.
"I mean the "booze", Senora Caroline?" Lucinda rolled her eyes.
"Oh! I don't … I don't need wine, or anything of the sort." Caroline shook her head. "What I need to do will only take a minute of his time."
"No, but Senor Klaus will need it when he'll see that you're here to make the big announcement." Lucinda grinned.
"What? No, I don't understand…The big announcement?" Caroline shook her head, dumbfounded.
"You don't know it yourself, yet, but, Lucinda does." The Spanish woman winked, once more. "Take very good care of Senor Klaus, Senora Caroline; I have both of my eyes on you, don't break his heart now?" She pointed two fingers to her eyes, before pointing one toward Caroline. "He seems strong, but like his brother, Senor Mikaelson; they both are very sensible men." She added, before storming out of the penthouse, leaving the petrified and speechless young woman standing in the middle of the living room.
"Caroline?" Klaus exclaimed, surprised, in top of the stairs.
Caroline startled at his call, before turning on her heels to raise her head at him.
"Hi." She greeted, shyly; a timid smile spreading on her lips. "Lucinda let me in…She… She left now." She added, stammering.
"What … What are you doing here?" Klaus inquired, surprised; while descending the staircase, wearing a low waist, light blue, pair of jeans; his hair spread in all directions from the shower, and with a towel wrapped around his neck. "Is there something wrong?" He added, concerned and worried.
Caroline stood motionless, her sight slowly sliding on the length of his muscular body; her heartbeats quickening under her heavy breathing….Lucinda was right!
"Oh … I see the silent treatment, again?" He winced, before throwing the towel on the leather sofa. "I guess I should have greeted you with a "Miss Forbes" I suppose? We're back to …"
Klaus Mikaelson couldn't finish his sentence that Caroline had rushed to his standing position, raised herself on her tip toes; cupped his face with both of her hands; only to crash her strawberry savor lips on his.
"Mm…" He let out a moan of surprise and appreciation; raising both of his hands to slowly slide them on each side of her waist. "What is this, Love?" He softly mouthed the words in top of her trembling lips.
"I'm so sorry; so, so sorry…" Caroline apologized; tears filling her eyes. "I was a fool; I didn't know … And I should have …" She stammered, incoherently.
"It's ok." Klaus responded, softly kissing her forehead; knowing instinctively what she meant by her say. "I understand."
"No, it's not … I treated you so badly; and …" Caroline shook her head. "In opposite … You always stood by me… And … You were right, I was pushing you away because I was afraid….And …" She added, a tear starting to roll down on her face.
"Mm…" He mumbled the sound; before cupping her face, only to start kissing her eyelids, cheeks, soft line of her jaw… "Don't cry and don't worry about it, Love."
"I was afraid because … Because, I was falling for you, and …" Caroline raised her head to bury her sight in his; while finally admitting her true feeling for the man.
"You don't say?" He let a smile spread on his lips. "Like I've been falling for you the first time I laid my eyes on you, Miss Forbes." He admitted, teasing on her family name; while bending his head to bless her lips of a kiss. "If it's the way it will be every time we fight, I'm not entirely against it, sweetheart." He added, smiling. "I just have one question?"
"What?" She questioned, mouthing the words in top of his lips.
"Why are you holding two candles in your hands like your life depended on holding them?" He questioned, with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh…" Caroline busted into nervous laughter. "I … I mean, It's Lucinda; she … She put the set in my hands, and basically told me to create a romantic ambiance; and …Oh!" She suddenly exclaimed in surprise; before seeing the two candles being thrown on the leather sofa, while being raised in Klaus's arms.
"Now, that is much better!" He smirked; while retracing his steps toward the staircase.
"What…What are you doing?" Caroline questioned, her arms crossed around his neck.
"Taking you to bed, Miss Forbes; are you complaining?" Klaus questioned, mocker. "I believe you have a lot of apologizing to do, would you say so?"
Thank you for reading the fourteenth chapter titled: "Horizontal desire – Part 2" guys!
So; Kol and Bonnie are in heaven, and so are we because of them ;) Caroline and Klaus … Well, it seems they are heading toward the same direction – We'll soon know in the next chapter ;) Elijah and Katherine … Give it time; unexpected news will change the game very soon! About two to three chapters left to this fiction; I'll hope you'll enjoy all of them until the end.
I'm moving out of my house, the next days, and will be without internet connection; so don't worry if I am not answering to the reviews in a speedy way ;)
Until the next update, my dear readers; keep safe!

Thank you for all the anonymous reviews received, guys!
My answers are below.
Guest: You know what sweetie? When I'd read your review, I saw that you had a pretty good idea where the story was heading with the Kalijah part; kudos to you! And yes, Caroline and Klaus are back in the competition, and finally, with their love life ;) Thanks so much for your kind review and nice inputs.
NikMik: Hi sweetheart! The day I'd decided to write that dancing fiction; I've said to myself: What in the name of God did you put yourself into this time? LOL … And then; I "fabricated" the character of Lucinda; and it was running smoothly ;) She is the heart of that fiction; and I do appreciate her very much ;) I hope you will enjoy the date of Bonnie and Kol (I know you oftentimes pass the "smut" part ;) But, in the present case, I wrote it in the cutest way possible. And yes, you were right! It was Mason! Thanks for your awesome comments, sweetie; always a pleasure to read you.
Lola: It's short and sweet message like you that gives a "boost" of confidence to the writer, stay awesome, sweetheart!
