About an hour an later the guests at the party were searching for Tambry due to the fact that she hasn't returned for a long time, and especially due to the fact that they heard a faint and distant scream in the forest.
The search party consisted of the Pine Twins, Soos, Manly Dan, a few residents from Gravity Falls, Sheriff Blubs and Officer Troy and a few other police officers. They continued to walk and shout out for the missing teen Tambry, as the beams from their flash lights are being directed all around the forest.
Wendy remained at the Mystery Shack with Grunkle Stan for obvious reasons, and for her own refusal to enter the woods due to the incident she experienced. Dipper was at first hesitant but couldn't ignore the fact that someone else he knew was missing.
Dipper was walking next to Mabel slowly directing his flash light around the woods and calling out for Tambry along with his sister. His eyes and head drifted left and right and more often then naught, back in case someone or something was watching them without their notice.
Mabel for once was taking this seriously since she liked Tambry, although she didn't know her that well only that one time in the Dusk 2 Dawn convenient store and she also liked everyone.
Dipper and Mabel ducked over a massive log and watched their steps from other objects that were unseen on the soil.
Even though they had flash lights and lanterns, it remained to be slightly dark. The illuminating celestial body of the moon was covered with dark clouds, and Dipper thought first that it might rain but didn't think much of it after that.
Dipper was visibly shaking slightly, he knew all too well what happened to Tambry and why she's missing, and was praying that she's safe. He could also feel anger coursing in his veins because the antagonist behind this and he knew all too well is taking people that Dipper considers friends or associates.
His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of his sister,"DIPPER! GUYS! COME HERE I FOUND SOMETHING!"she yelled out, Dipper ran towards the direction she was shouting at, Dipper could notice the other light beams shaking in the distance indicating that the others are headed towards her as well.
A few seconds later, he saw Mabel leaning down and holding what seems to be a cellphone and the screen was cracked. Dipper knew instantly that it was Tambry's phone, before then the others joined in as Soos asked,"What'd ya find hambone?" as he directed the flash light at the object.
Lee and Robbie's eyes widened before Lee said,"Holy crud, it's Tambry's phone!"in realization and worry.
Sheriff Blubs gestured for Mabel to hand over the phone as Officer Troy held a plastic bag,"Alright, hand it over kid, we'll take it back to the boys back at the lab so we could find your friend." he said as then Mabel put the phone in the bag.
Lee ran a hand through his blonde hair in a stressful manner,"Oh man oh man oh man." he muttered in a shaky manner, Robbie the patted his shoulder in reassurance and said,"Calm down man, she's probably fine."
Lee could only nod in response but remains to be stressed.
Sheriff Blubs then told everyone,"Alright people we have proof that she's here somewhere. Search high and low, she may be in a ditch or near the road. Any more evidence or if you see her shout out in your radios." he commanded as everyone nodded in response before spreading out in small groups.
Dipper and Mabel were joined with Soos as they glanced around and directing their flash lights around the environment
Soos then said,"Dude what if the girl is already in town? I mean like she may have already made it to the town or somethin' I dunno." Dipper knew Soos was right, but they have to be sure first,"You maybe right Soos but what about the phone? If I know Tambry she'd NEVER leave her phone behind. Heck she could find it easily in a maze."he explained on Tambry's possessive attitude with her phone.
Mabel sighed and just shrugged as she continued on.
Two hours passed with no signs of Tambry or any other of her belongings. The twins and Soos were quite far from the search party and most likely quite distant from the town of Gravity Falls. They were currently within the deepest parts of the Gravity Falls forest, and the massive and thin trees appeared as though they are black.
A mist is currently coating the soil like water. Soos and Dipper were slowly becoming uneasy in this forest, but Mabel wasn't due to her optimistic nature and her cheerful attitude, but she can still get quite scared.
Dipper and Soos were uneasy due to the fact that they fear they're being watched by an unseen force or the Slender Man. But they know it's the Slender Man since it seems to be the most active entity in Gravity Falls at the moment. Soos was making silent whining sounds as he glanced around nervously and Mabel had to occasionally pat his his back to calm him down.
Dipper tried to keep a straight face hiding his intense fear. But was slightly failing, because even the slightest twig snap causes him to be immensely alarmed and was caused by Mabel or an animal.
Mabel narrowed her eyes,"Man it's so dark out here."she said, Soos nodded in agreement before saying,"Totally hambone, it's darker then the void which appears after I enter Mr. Pine's bathroom."he elaborated and comparing it to the horrors that Soos saw when he cleans up his boss's bathroom.
Dipper cringed at the thought,"Yeah, really didn't need to know that Soos."he said whilst glancing around.
Mabel looked at her brother and thought about asking him the specific topic that's been haunting him for weeks, she didn't want to stress him further. But according to what Candy told her, if her brother keeps it inside it will consume him and maybe too late to heal so in order to get it off his chest he needs to tell her.
Mabel breathed a deep sigh before she scooted over to her brother while walking then put on a big smile and said,"Hey Dippingsauce."in an enthusiastic tone, Dipper took a brief glance at her then responded,"Oh hey Mabel. Sup?"he asked.
Mabel snorted,"Pfft the sky silly of course! Haha."she giggled and remarked sarcastically about what is up, Dipper only released a small chuckle as they continued to walk when Mabel said,"So bro...um...do you have the time to talk?"she asked and a little hopeful he said yes.
Dipper froze and sighed deeply, because he instantly knew what Mabel wanted to talk about as the latter halted in her tracks herself glancing at him nervously before he looked up at her,"Mabel...I'm...you know that I can tell you anything...but...it's just so uncomfortable."he admitted rather shakily.
Mabel frowned in sadness before she took a step close and put her hand on his shoulder as he looked up meeting her gaze,"Dipper, come on, you can tell me anything, and no matter how silly or crazy it may seem I'll keep it with me until the day I live on the clouds and have pretty bird wings. Because that's what brothers and sisters do." she explained.
Dipper had to smile, no matter what Mabel always made him happy, and honestly he couldn't ask for a better sister then her,"Thanks Mabes. You're the best."he said and hugged her. She hugged back smiling, Soos looked on sniffing wiping a tear from the sibling love sight.
They split before walking and Mabel asked him,"Alright, now slowly just tell me what's wrong...is it about that Slendy guy?"
Dipper sighed deeply as Soos was next to them before saying,"Y-Yeah...I just can't take it Mabel...I can't eat and I can't sleep...no matter how much I try or what I do he's...just always there."he elaborated shakily.
Mabel only nodded and motioned for him to keep going as he explained further, although he was beginning to grow quiet over time while in another part of the forest Lee and Robbie were searching for Tambry.
The two teens were glancing around for their missing friend, Lee kept whimpering silently before Robbie said in an irritated manner,"Dude chill, we'll find her just relax."
Lee turned to him angrily,"No dude I can't exactly chill right now! First Nate's missing, then Thompson, and now Tambry! Someone's out there trying to get us!"he exclaimed flailing his arms around when Robbie responded in the same tone,"I know doofus! Don't think I haven't been worried either!"he shouted.
Lee girt his teeth,"I'm sorry man...it's just...I can't take this."he muttered, Robbie's angry visage was replaced with a sympathetic one and patted his pal's shoulder then said,"Just forget it dude, we'll find them."he assured him.
Lee only nodded before narrowing his eyes and directed his flash light behind Robbie and asked,"Hey...dude you see that?" Robbie rose an eyebrow confused before turning around seeing Lee was directing the flash light at something carved on a tree. They walked closer to it for further inspection.
The carving in question is revealed to be a circle with an X over it, Robbie looked at Lee,"Dude it's probably made by some kids to scare us."he said skeptically, and Lee just shrugged,"Eh I guess, looks weird though."he said as they continued on.
The pair walked for a minute before seeing a small building up ahead,"Hey look! It's the town's station! Tambry's probably there!"Lee exclaimed pointing to a nearby station, which was abandoned years ago for reasons unknown.
Robbie smiled and nudged Lee,"Hey yeah dude you're right! C'mon let's go!"he commanded and ran to the station as Lee followed him. Unbeknownst to them, something other then Tambry was waiting for them...
