1.14-acceptance, honeymoons, and twins.
[ Jackson and April enjoy being newlyweds. Meredith and Derek find out they are have two twin boys. Alex reaches acceptance with Arizona].
{ A/N: Hope you guys will like this chapter! Please make sure to review as it does help me incredibly. Hope you guys enjoy. Also, for the guest who left that comment, I said it was a Japril centric but I then just changed into "Japril Wedding". Also, Japril's honeymoon is two weeks long so there still will be much more to come even with the one week time jump!}
Meredith's voiceover: Change. We hate it as people, but we love change as scientists and doctors. Change helps us flourish to lead us into new discoveries that can save lives with the power they hold. Acceptance of change is something that is feared by everyone even the toughest people don't have a free pass from being forced to accept the change that has happened. If we ever want to move foward, we have to learn to accept change no matter how badly we don't want to. You can run from accepting change but you can't hide.
S1- Meredith and Derek's house. *after April and Jackson's wedding.*
Cristina: Ugh...why did I drink so much at Kepner and Avery's wedding?
Alex: Are You asking me if I think you're a drunk? Then yes.
Cristina: No one was asking you anything. And your too loud.
Alex: I'm too loud or your hungover?
Derek: Both. You two need to stop bickering for one second or else I'm going to cut myself with this knife I'm using to cut Zola's apples.
Cristina: That's no problem anyway. I'm going over to the couch with my comfy blanket to watch Friends reruns until we have to go.
Derek: Oh, by the way, Cristina, you need to book yourself a cab or lyft or whatever because Amy's riding with me today.
Cristina: Where's Mer?
Derek: She's helping out Lexie with the baby because Mark has to go find someone to cover his service now that Avery's gone.
Cristina: Then who am I going to ride with? Did you think about this at all before you said it?
Derek: That's why I said you need to book a lyft or something like that to get you two to the hospital.
Cristina: Oh, okay. I'll do it in twenty minutes after I finish the last part of this episode.
Alex: That's the first good thing she has said all morning. *Derek chuckles*.
Derek: Zola's lunch is made. I have to go wake her up now because she has to be at school earlier than usual for her science project presentation on human growth and development so that means you need to help Cristina get a move on and not get sucked into Friends.
Alex: Your not my dad you know?
Derek: Then stop acting like my son and I'll stop acting like your dad.
S2- The Savory in London; April and Jackson's honeymoon sweat.
Jackson: Good morning Mrs. Kepner-… Avery.
April: Good morning Jackson Avery-Kepner.
Jackson: What? Our deal wasn't that I would change my last name. That's how I can afford this honeymoon sweat where we are right now.
April: I know. I love you Jackson.
Jackson: I love you too. * They kiss for a long time*.
April: So, what are we going to do today? I hope you don't mind that I brought along-
Jackson: I thought we already decided what we were going to do or at least what I was going to do.
April: What? How am I supposed to know this stuff if you don't write it down on the honeymoon planner board?
Jackson: We are going to spend all morning kissing until I am so starved of food that we have to go downstairs to eat breakfast.
April: Jackson.
Jackson: Come back to bed. Were in the most romantic and beautiful city in the world, and on top of all of that, were married to each other.
April: Please don't say that.
Jackson: Why not? It's the truth.
April: What you might said could be potentially killing me as after that line, I am fine with dying as long as I get to kiss for however long I want.
Jackson: Now that's more like it. * They kiss*.
S3- Seattle Grace; the elevator.
* Amelia, Derek, and Alex get on an elevator where Callie and Arizona are along with two nurses*.
Alex: I'm going to take the stairs.
Amelia: Alex, you can't because the janitors are still cleaning it up from the leak yesterday in there. It's off use. Bailey sent out an email this morning saying that everyone needs to use the elevator until further notice that the stairs are working again.
Alex: Okay. * Comes into the elevator*.
Callie: Hey Arizona, what do you think about The View?
Arizona: Callie, I don't watch the view.
Callie: But Karev does. * Whispers*.
Alex: I can hear you just so you idiots know. This is my stop anyways. * The elevator door opens and Arizona and Alex walk out*.
Arizona: Mine too.
Alex: Are you stalking me now?
Arizona: No, I got paged for a consult on a kid's trauma and I'm on the mother's case.
Both at the same time: You paged?
Richard: I did. These are doctors Robbins and Karev. They will closely be working together on you and your daughters case, ma'am, and I can assure you that we are ready to provide you with the best care possible at Seattle Grace.
Tara-the mother patient: Thank you Dr. Webber. Which one of these doctors will be taking care of me?
Richard: That'd be Dr. Robbins, but both Dr. Karev and Dr. Robbins are going to take you and your daughter for some scans. Is that okay?
Tara: Yes. Is that okay with you sweetie?
The daughter- Melony: It's fine Mom. I'm so sorry. She's such an embarrassment. I want to apologize in advance to both of you.
Tara: She's just joking. She inherited her father's sense of humor.
Arizona: I'm sure she'll be able to crack some more jokes on the way up to the MRI and CT room. And if we need to run any more tests after that, we will.
Richard: Can you guys handle it from here?
Alex: Yeah.
Arizona: I guess we can. * Says it surprisingly*.
Richard: Good. With Kepner gone from the pit, this place is a madhouse.
Alex: Well, my life has become a madhouse from here on out or maybe a sitcom. * Whispers*.
Melony: What?
Alex: Nothing. Nothing at all. * Looks over angrily at Arizona*.
S4- The pool at the Savory in London.
Jackson: Look! I brought this bikini for you.
April: Jackson, when I said I would come down to the pool with you to get something to eat, I didn't mean that I wanted a full breakfast catered and margaritas as the cherry on top of all of this new luxury. I'm just starting to get used to this.
Jackson: I know. And that's why your name is Kepner- Avery. I love you as you are, but you also have to love me as I am.
April: Okay. We will go swimming even through I'm pretty sure that the water in the pool is freezing. It's only because I love you so much, and also the fact that I love London so much does help that I will go swimming in that freezing cold water this early in the morning with this bikini on in front of children and their parents!
* April comes back from changing*.
April: Shall we?
Jackson: We shall. We don't have to worry about the food or drinks because it's on my tab.
April: You are truly the luckiest man on earth to have me as your wife who is willing to be in the freezing cold water for you with a bikini on.
Jackson: I know.
April: Look at all the cute children around her with their parents.
Jackson: I hope someday we will take our kids to London. It's a marvelous city. And it's the royal city too. Maybe we'll get to see Prince Harry and Meghan sometime if were lucky which we are. * April makes a weird face*. What's wrong babe?
April: It's just we've never discussed our future like that.
Jackson: What do you mean?
April: You've never included kids in our plan before although I've hinted at it at least a million times. You know how I've always wanted to be a mom.
Jackson: To be honest, I didn't think I had to. You'll be a great mother and I'll be a good dad.
April: I've already picked out names.
Jackson: Now were getting a little overboard.
April: Did I freak you out? I knew this was going to happen. I'm sorry.
Jackson: No. Go ahead.
April: Well, I want a name with a lot of meaning. If it's a girl, I have always wanted the name to be Camila because it means warrior. I want to teach our daughter how to be strong so she knows her place in the world. Her place is working at a job where she can make a difference and a place that she loves because she will be a warrior. I've always thought that as an awesome meaning behind a name.
Jackson: Just like her mother. A warrior. * They kiss*. And a queen. So what about for a boy?
April: I guess you get to pick that one.
Jackson: I think now that you said that our odds of having a boy have decreased immensely and the odds of having a girl have risen because we both know that your way more prepared than me as much as I hate to admit it. But hey, my mentor is Mark Sloan who plays everything ear by ear.
April: I love you.
Jackson: I love you too.
S5- The CT room-* at the same time*.
Alex: I haven't cried yet.
Arizona: I thought we weren't talking to each other.
Alex: The scans will take a pretty long time to load so now's a good time to talk about the elephant in the room. Look, the moment that you told me my baby had no brain was the moment that you cost my chance at fatherhood. I'm never going to be a father. And let's face the facts here, your right.
Arizona: What are you talking about?
Alex: I would've been a horrible father.
Arizona: Is that what you really think? Do you think that I think that of you? Because if you do, you are COMPLETELY wrong. You will be the best father to that little girl of yours for however long as she lives and you can move forward with your life no matter how impossible it seems now. You can look at your future child and still love them as much as you loved that little girl of yours for every second of her life. I just want you to talk to me because I love you Alex, and I don't enjoy seeing you in pain.
Alex: Thank you. So what do you say? Is team PEDS/OB GYN back to cure this daughter and her mother? We save the ones we can right?
Arizona: Exactly. The mom needs surgery as soon as possible because she has bleeding in her abdominal that is not good for the baby and the baby could come at any second because she's really far along. I have to go book the OAR and you can use the room now for Melony.
Alex: Okay. Should I tell her and her daughter?
Arizona: No. I will. Can you go book the OAR partner? * Alex smiles*.
Alex: Yes ma'am. The operation will be a go.
S6- The coffee chart.
Meredith: Hey you!
Derek: Hey. Katie needs one more night of observation because she is improving rapidly. But meningitis is not quite as tough to overcome as a TMI is.
Meredith: How's Ben?
Derek: Edwards was telling me how his physical therapy sessions are so depressing. He's fine in the bed but he needs to move. He needs to do well on the recovery process. That's in his control and his control only. And it's not good for Bailey either. She sent one staff email out this morning and has been by Ben's side ever since. I'm just worried that it may be hard for her stress to see her husband like that but you know Bailey.
Meredith: She can handle anything that comes her way. After all, she is the chief of Seattle Grace Mercy West hospital. She was my attending. I know her at her worst and at her best.
Derek: Moving on to a lighter subject, how was Mark and Lexie's?
Meredith: Lexie was as clumsy as ever. When I got there, I found out that she put Meredith's diaper on backwards! But I'm still giving her time to adjust to this new parenting thing. Mark came back and said that he found someone to cover his patients now that Jackson and April are gone. I watched some Fuller House while Meredith was napping, and Lexie and I were originally supposed to watch it together, but she fell asleep during the first minute of it.
Derek: That sounds like Lexie. It's good that you finally got to see Lexie again. I've barley seen Mark except for at the wedding. They've been so busy with parenting. But it seems like they're really enjoying it.
Meredith: They are. Can you believe that we'll get to experience parenting joy all over again with this baby? On the way over here, I was reminiscing about when Zola was younger. Now she is doing science projects on human growth and development. * They laugh*.
Derek: We could be having babies. Plural.
Meredith: We'll find out at our next ultrasound in 6 days now because yesterday it was a week away.
Derek: We will. I was talking to the barista and he said he thinks it's going to be triplets.
Meredith: I hope not. I don't want to carry three babies in my very tender, small uterus.
Derek: What about two?
Meredith: Maybe. I have to go the pit. What time do you think you'll be home tonight? Are you taking a longer shift?
Derek: I'll be around for some consults and I'll be in the pit for a little while until I have to go observe Ben's physical therapy to evaluate him with Edwards.
Meredith: Do you want to walk there together? Maybe we can kiss in the first supply room on the left.
Derek: You are scandalous Meredith Grey! But of course I'll walk with you. It gives me more time to hypothesize about our baby or babies. * Meredith laughs and they walk away together*.
S7- Meredith's ultrasound; 6 days later.
Meredith: Hey. Are you ready for us?
Arizona: Yes! Let's take a look at this baby's gender. * Meredith gets on the patient bed and Arizona puts the cold gel on her stomach*.
Meredith: Oh lord, what is it? Why are you making that face? Am I have eight babies? Please don't tell me I'm having eight babies. I'll pay you not to. Five hundred dollars!
Derek: Oh Meredith! Don't be so silly.
Arizona: You guys are having two healthy baby boys that are infact… twins! Congrats!
Meredith: Twins?! And boys?! That's like twice the stench and I'm already living with one.
Derek: We'll figure it out together. I love you so much Meredith Grey. I think I'm going to pass out. Were having two baby boys.
Meredith: And they're healthy. I love you too. Zola's going to have two brothers.
Derek: She is. * They kiss*.
Derek: I have to go call Lily Geller on my way home! We can finally start planning for the gender reveal party for our two little boys.
Arizona: I'm so happy for you guys. I'll be there.
Meredith: Thank you so much Arizona.
Derek: Is the ultrasound going to be up at the front desk like it was before?
Arizona: Yes. I just have to send it to our lamentation printer. And then you two will be able to see your beautiful, twin baby boys!
