They were lying around playing video games on her arrival, which consisted of her swooping through the window and struggling to land the carpet. It resulted in her crashing and rolling to a halt on the floor. Finn and Jake were quick to their feet, sensing an emergency as Finn readied his sword for whatever might be chasing the princess. "Princess! What's happening? Are you okay?" Bonnibel nodded, struggling to her feet as she pushed the now unruly short strands of hair from their place.

"I need to get into the Nightosphere," she told them and Finn and Jake gave one another a worried look. Jake was the first to shake his head.

"No way, Princess. All you're going to find in there is trouble." They shook their heads stubbornly. Bonnibel felt like her chest was going to explode as she frantically ran her fingers through her hair. Panicked tears dusted her cheeks as she gripped Finn's shoulders.

"You don't understand. We have to get there. Now. Marceline's life is in danger." Finn blinked, looking at Bonnibel and then up at her hair.

"I like your hair cut," he stated, completely unrelated and frustrating Bonnibel even more as she shoved him away and threw her hands up into the air.

"This is pointless! What was I thinking trying to get your help! I'd have more luck dragging Phoebe into this!" She collapsed onto their couch, holding her face in her hands as violent sobs shook her body. "So long I've wanted this, Finn. A chance to finally have someone that I feel myself with. And of course, the moment I do the world is a moment away from being destroyed."

"Who-" Finn started only for Jake to stretch his arm up and slap his paw over his mouth. Finn looked at his friend, understanding now was probably not the time to ask as he gave a confirming nod to Jake. The dog pulled away, the pair stepping to either side of Bonnibel and resting comforting hands on her shoulders. "Okay, P-Bubs, we're sorry. Tell us what you need from us." Bonnibel gave a sniffle, looking up and seeing genuine expressions from the two boys. A smile flickered on her face before she began explaining the entire situation to them.

Finn jumped to his feet, "So how are we going to go after Marcy's dad?" He requested as Bonnibel took in the last few shaky breaths, considering his question. She looked down at the necklace. The three of them wouldn't be enough, they needed someone with real power. Like Marceline. But of course she was off the table. And then her mind wandered.

"Perhaps…" she started, finishing her thought internally as she stood to her feet. "Yes, that will have to do it. Finn, we need to go to the Fire Kingdom. We need Phoebe's help." Finn's face went scarlet as if the Fire Princess had come in and slapped him across the cheeks. "I know you and her aren't the greatest of friends...she and I don't exactly have the best of relationship either, but she's the best hope we've got." Finn swallowed his pride and nodded. Bonnibel just hoped the detour wouldn't take too much time. She wasn't even sure if Betty was successful with holding off Marceline.

"Where is it?" Marceline demanded, her room destroyed. Her hair floated viciously around her, her teeth seeming to have grown in size. Eyes red. She wanted nothing more than the drain the soul from her father. To end him like she should have all those years ago. Betty was standing near the trap door, doing her best to block Marceline from making her exit.

"Did you check under your bed?"

"Of course I did!" Marceline howled, tossing the mattress to the other side of the room for good measure. "I should have been right here!" She pointed to the deconstructed night table where Betty had stolen the necklace from.

"Are you sure you didn't leave it somewhere else? Have you checked the bathroom?" Marceline swooped towards Betty, close to her face.

"Are you mocking me?" And then the vampire paused, face seeming to shift back to normal for a moment as she looked past Betty. "Wh-where's Bonnibel?" She looked at Betty and the woman's apologetic expression sparked the anger back in her. "Where is she?"

"She's protecting you from making a very bad mistake, Marcy. You can't kill your father." Marceline grabbed Betty by her shoulders, lifting her effortlessly into the air.

"I can do whatever I please. Now where is she?" Betty frowned, disappointed. Not scared. It swallowed some of Marceline's fire. Burned her ego just enough for her to return Betty to the floor and take a hesitant step back.

"I don't know where she went. I gave her the necklace and told her what would happen if you returned to the Nightosphere. If she's as smart as I know she is, I'm sure she's already found a way to deal with your father." Marceline gritted her teeth, a fearsome growl building in her chest before it exploded in a mass of dark energy. She didn't need the front door, a swift kick and she, flew up, smashing through the roof of her home.

"She won't take what's mine." It wasn't Marceline speaking. At least not entirely. Her human side, her feelings towards the woman were muffled by her demonic and angry need to finish her father. He was hers to deal with.
