Epilogue
Hades
I walked from the throne room out to the garden only to see an image I will treasure for eternity.
Persephone was placing a flower behind our daughter's ear.
Macaria smiled wide at her mother then she saw me.
"Daddy!" she squealed as she lept into my arms. My child placed a delicate kiss on my cheek and hugged my neck.
"Daddy do you like my flower? She asked sweetly as I sat her down.
"Of course I do love. It suites you." I looked up as Persephone came up and kissed my lips.
"Are you going to see your mother?" I asked but Macaria bounced happily, her blue dress twirled around her ankles as she moved.
"Yay we are gonna see Granma!"
My Queen and I laughed at our child's obvious pleasure at seeing Demeter.
"Alright darling, now say by to daddy." Persephone said as she looked up at me. "We'll be back later this evening love." I nodded and gave both my girls a kiss and Persephone took Macaria's hand and led her toward the portal that would take them to the surface.
And to think this all happened because of a party I didn't want to be at.
And there it is. The truth behind the myth. Hades never abducted me, he never raped me and my mother hasn't always been so, well, normal.
Hades and I live happily to this day with our beautiful daughter and her younger brother and sister. Thank you for listening to my tale and now I'm going to have dinner with my beloved family.
The End.
