Somehow my powers were slipping up out of my control again. I don't know how but that wind was erupting from my quenching thirst.
My eyes were closed but I could feel them roll back anyway…
It's been…
It's been years, I don't even think I remember the last time I had a drink from the vein.
In these few seconds I allowed myself to taste this guy's blood, the once cool refreshing air that calmed my nerves suddenly turned icy cold. Not only that, his warm blood suddenly turned really cold and the weight of his body fell completely in our hands…
As quickly as it started, my eyes finally widened at remembering the reality that we were on the verge of killing this person.
I forced myself to pull away from him and gasped for air with the now cold blood over my mouth…
What have I done?
I was supposed to hold Dimitra back like I told her I would and I was the one that got lured in like some kind of amateur vampire!
My wind stopped; Dimitra was still hanging on to him and he was turning an extremely pale tone with blue lips like I've never seen before.
"Ximena stop!" She was literally so thirsty she was looking to drink every last drop this body had. I pulled and pulled on her to get her to let go but she was way stronger than before.
I gripped onto her fingers to peel them off his shirt and used my other arm to wrap it around to the front of her neck so she'd retract her fangs. At the force, I finally tore her away but she hissed in protest. I held on as tight as possible when I suddenly felt a slip on my heels.
Eyes widened, I felt myself slide backwards and lose my balance with Dimitra tumbling down with me. The sudden slam on both our backs seemed to knock us both back into our senses when the veins under my eyes disappear and Dimitra suddenly relaxed against my hold.
We both panted and groaned with the hit. This was carpet we were standing on and I'm always balanced as a vampire so how did I just slip?
I immediately sat up and I gawked to see the sleek, crystalized floor around where we were standing. How did that get there?
I immediately turned to the server we just let ourselves drain and I was shocked to see he didn't look anything like I was expecting.
Both our bite marks were there but what stood out most of all is his coloring; he looked like he'd passed out from hypothermia…
There was frost lining his cheeks and strands of his hair…
How in the world did that happen….?
Was that the cold I felt…?
I didn't leave that there, right?
"…It's taken a form so quickly. The heightened emotions are most certainly a push…" I heard my father awe and the others had come closer, observing us both and the limp body.
Processing what he just said, this could only mean one thing…
Ximena created this…
"…Cryokinesis…" my father kneeled by us and I turned to check up on Dimitra. I pulled her arm to help her sit up and she looked completely dazed…
"Are you alright, my dear?" he tries to reach for her but she flinches away by seeing him.
She looked like she was trying to pull herself together before I saw her breath begin to grow heavier and her features altered in an all too familiar way…

Looking up to the ceiling, I felt tickles all over. It felt like I was far more in touch with every little touch or nerve that extended through my body. I could see the high ceiling as if I were up close, like my eyes could zoom into far off distances. I could hear every little mumble being spoken around us, both our breaths were extremely vivid and I could hear noises from far off distances too. Everything felt… heightened.
The taste in my mouth was so delicious I could compare it to my favorite candy…
I felt it course through my body and I was intoxicated with the sensation.
Caroline helped me sit up but when I realized Vladimir… my father… reached for me, I still flinched away on impulse.
I can't say I hate him…
But my trust in him is still very diminished…
Taking in everything around me, I suddenly got a waft of the scent in the air and recognized it like before… I reached up to the trails of liquid that decorated my lips when I looked down to see it was red.
Blood…
This is blood but I can clearly tell its not mine this time…
Looking at both it and the smell that trailed in the air, I suddenly felt my mind get a little hazy… a little numb…
The thirst I had just a minute before had disappeared but out of nowhere came sinking back to me.
I swallowed deeply, feeling desperation like nothing before to get more. Looking down, I barely registered that I was looking at a pale, maybe even dead, body.
Caroline had rushed over to them and desperately checked for a pulse. I had caused this. This person may be dead right now because I just savagely drank his blood but at this second…
I didn't see a person…
I saw a food source…
"He is only seconds away from death, Natalia. Leave the body be…" Vladimir called to her.
"No, no, I can fix this" I vaguely honed in on the sound of a very spaced out thump coming from them. Was that a heartbeat? Caroline bit into her wrist and hastily sat him up to bring her hand to his mouth. The beats were so spaced out but by the time her blood would be sinking into his mouth… I didn't hear the next one.
"Come on!" she shook him.
…nothing came…
From what I had heard earlier… she was trying to heal him the way I had been healed.
She beat down on his chest to try and get another pump going. I continued to listen for it, expressionless, but it didn't immediately register to me that there wasn't another heartbeat that would sound from him.
The server boy was now dead
I didn't react in any way at all… I just stared back blankly when the truth dawned on Caroline. She wasn't able to save him.
I just killed someone…
And the only thing running through my mind was how it felt like I was practically starving. I was completely apathetic to everything else.
"…oh my, you're still hungry…" I looked to Vladimir by this notion. Is it that obvious?
"Should I call for another, father?" Megara suggested but Caroline snapped away from the boy at this.
"What is wrong with you?" she remarked, closing the boys eyes before facing off with our sister and the others. "You told me yourself, we had an agreement with the human officials that we wouldn't kill here in the Kremlin! Yet time and time again, dead bodies turn up. This isn't right. There is nothing wrong with a blood bag. We don't need our sister on a rampage!" she fumed out, running her hands through her hair in a sort of guilty fashion.
Seeing her this distraught, I was finally able to sink back down to my senses. It felt like I was coming to the realization of the situation and all the senses in my body calmed down. I felt an entire load of weight hit me out of the blue…
"…Caroline…" my voice croaked…
I drained them of blood.
I did exactly to him what these people did to all those innocent people in Monte Carlo earlier tonight and the worst part of it all is that…
I liked it.
For those first brief moments, I didn't care at all.
"I'm sorry…" suddenly I was hauled to my feet by Megara.
"Oh don't be so over dramatic.." she snooted.
"No Megara, your sister is, right. We've let you girls and the others slide by that rule far too many times." He motioned to his brothers before facing Megara "We honor our word and that means ALL of us from now on" he declared, looking apologetically to Caroline.
Megara scoffed in disbelief with crossed arms.
"Well the important thing now is that my niece has finally completed the last step" my uncle Feodor suddenly had me enveloped in a hug but I was still too paralyzed by everything to do so.
I wanted to cry; I could feel tears wanting to form in my eyes but somehow I also felt blocked out. I had a slight drop form on the edge of my eye to slide down but suddenly it turned cold. I snapped out of my trance to feel it on my face and realized it was a very small sediment of ice.
Where did this come from?
Once he stepped back from me, I looked down to see that we were standing on a frosted section of carpet. My uncle immediately noted my attention and chuckled, smiling.
"What a lovely power" he mused "our family is quite the collection, wouldn't you say?"
"The important thing is we are all finally together as one. The struggles may always be present but the quest has finally concluded" Vladimir stepped close again, but this time slipping a small object into my hand before he ordered the body to be carefully removed from the room. I opened it up to see a blue ring… There was something off about it…
Caroline then turned to me.
When my father and uncles turned to the others in the room, she rushed over "…I even let myself get swept away. I'm so sorry…" her voice filled with guilt; regret. It genuinely sounded like the embarrassment an older sibling would have when realizing they've been a terrible example to a sibling.
I recalled that Caroline had also bitten the server boy but I didn't feel like judging her at all for it. She's been the most caring person I've met all night and if anyone needs to feel guilty its me.
I hugged her because we both felt the exact same thing right now.
We had killed him together.
I squeezed onto her tightly because I was worried that the hunger would sneak up again at any second. Just remembering it made me think that this would not be the last time I do this…
That hunger, or vampire instinct, felt like some form of possession.
How has everyone in my family lived with it?
"Quite a phenomena wouldn't you say?" I looked over my sister's shoulder to see my father and his brothers talking to the other three men in the room that had been observing everything that just happened to us.
Since one of them was the first vampire I've ever seen, will someone just explain who exactly they are? I can tell their not our family but there's an air to them that doesn't quite match the presence that the earlier vampire's had.

"Quite the learning experience" From the spelled blood, the new predatory features, right down to the new fraction of magic in the Pureblood family collection.
I have no idea how this magic chooses its form but each girl seems quite formidable. Both Caroline and Dimitra's abilities show hazardous potentials which makes me call to question how Vladimir can be sure he can keep them in check.
Caroline has always been a strong willed girl but her outbreaks I've seen tonight do leave me unsettled for her. She must tame this new ability as does her newfound sister.
And speaking of sisters, the women who had entered with the human earlier has yet to be introduced but seems to have a quarrel with the others.
"… We've gone through this same process 8 times now. It's relieving to finally finish.." Maxim notes.
"You've had us to help along the way…" the eldest sister joins us, giving a slight curtsey respectfully.
"May I introduce my eldest daughter, Megara" Vladimir asserts, primarily to Elijah and I since Kol has already met her.
"It is an honor" she extends her hand to each of us.
"a pleasure" Elijah formally greets her with a peck to the wrist while I smile and give a slight bow to our handshake "likewise.."
"Might we ask…" I ponder before she nods in realization.
"I assume you're asking about my ability" she releases my hand to turn it over and manifest a tall flame above her palm.
"Pyro kinesis" Elijah voices before she snaps her wrist closed with a puff of smoke, incinerating it. She handles it so laid back and confidently, it is clear control isn't an issue with this sister. It must come about with years of training as the host familiarizes herself with this magic that wasn't originally hers.
"Each of my sister, cousin's and I, very much look forward to properly sharing our story with your family. We hope you'll bless us with the same" she smiles very politely.
"Of course. We're thrilled that you'll have us. There is much wisdom to share" I smile charmingly.
I'm positive that learning each other's secrets is on both of our agendas. They'll learn what I want them to while I inquire what I need.
I can't help but glance behind Megara to Caroline as she tended to their younger sister,.
"It's been quite an exhausting evening. I'm sure each of your daughters, especially the youngest here, would very much need to rest" I suggest to Vladimir as neutrally as I can.
"Yes it is quite late" he looked to her antique watch "Just past 3 am. Why don't we finally do this introduction properly with our entire families at breakfast?"
We nod in agreement. Despite everything we've just seen, its best it all be left for morning. My brothers and I knew any comments were best left out for now.
"Natalia, take your sister to rest" he directed to Caroline.
She didn't hesitate to gather he sister to go rest, though before leaving, we did lock eyes.
She looked at me so uncertain, in a hesitant manner as if she wasn't sure what I was doing. Caroline is the person I'm most familiar with here yet I haven't spoken to her or stood by her through this entire scene. I wanted to talk to her, I wanted to reassure her that her sibling would be alright, I wanted to ask her all about how she's adjusting with her new ability…. But I can't.
I don't let myself lock eyes for too long before she walks out with her sister.
I have to try to build a friendship with Vladimir… but it won't be possible to do so if I'm heavily involved with the father's daughter. There's a large difference of trust when you befriend the father than when you befriend the daughter.
I may not like it but I must keep myself from displaying a large sentimental attachment to her…
"Well then…" Vladimir and his brothers extended their hands to us "…we will meet in our dinning room for breakfast at 8"
With the blood moon over head… it's been quite a night.

I pulled another layer of the covers over her. Her hair was still damp after the shower I made her take to wash out the blood she was covered with. We found her a night dress and shawl to go over it and she sank further into the pillows.
"Does it make you cold?" much like mine, her powers have appeared at random times but I think it helps if she's surrounded by warmth. I can't help but wonder how it affects her.
She was still looking off into space "…its going to happen again isn't it? I'm going to kill again…" she whispered nervously.
I can tell we're both feeling the guilt for what happened today… "…there's never been a vampire that's gone without killing at least once before.." its may not be such a bright side but I didn't want her it to weigh so heavily on her. Now's the time to help her break through this baby vampire stuff "First thing tomorrow, I'll teach you everything I know. I'm going to train you to cope with the hunger, with the emotions, with the power outbreaks…" the look over worry was still spread across her face.
"What if I get hungry again?" she alarmed.
"I brought you two blood bags, here" I pulled them out from her side table. If she gets those urges again she can just pop one open.
"It's only a few hours rest" and there's no doubt we both need it.
"But what if…" she's still on edge about it all but I just hold the covers over her.
"Just breathe through it and tell yourself, you'll be fine. I'm just down the hall if you need anything" I smile comfortingly "just go to sleep…"
She calms down, relaxing her muscles and I can tell she's feeling the weight of all those dawn over her by the look in her eyes.
For the first time tonight I can finally relax. Once she's asleep, I make my way out of the room with a long sigh as I shut her door.
This night has been hell…
I can still see the blood moon out over the sky through the large hallway window and I don't think I'll ever like looking at it again. Thank goodness it's finally ending, I just want to put all this behind me. I can't believe what my father put both of us through. Tonight has reminded me that he was known as a fierce ruler and king for a reason. He's not just the loving father figure we've seen him be so far. This now kind of scares me to think what he's capable of but I can at least never doubt that he'll put us before anything else. The only thing I can hope for is that it's smooth sailing from here…
Hopefully…
Making it back to my room, I got to wondering why Klaus just stood by and watched all this. He was technically my friend so…
I just….
I thought he would help me with Dimitra…
I thought he would he would have killed Martin…
I thought he would have confronted my father…
Er, what?! What am I saying? NONE of those things would have been good…
I sigh…

The next morning I woke up around our usual time for breakfast. It's a little sad to say that none of us just go to breakfast in our pajama's but with guests here, now's not a good time to try it out.
I showered, curled my hair, and dressed in dark jeggings with a long waved out burgundy tunic and midriff leather jacket. Not only was I already feeling the hunger gnawing away at me, I wanted to check up on Ximena to see if she was up yet.
I knocked to let her know I was coming in but didn't get a response.
"Hey Xi?" I stepped in but was surprised to not see her in bed.
I zoomed in around us and heard she wasn't anywhere in this room at all.

The morning finally came and my siblings, Marcel and I had made our way back to the dining room setting that looked out onto the courtyard.
Truth be told, we weren't able to rest much after we retired to our quarters for the jet lag was still in effect. The sunrays were clearly skinning into the room this chilly morning, and there waiting for us were the Pureblood brothers.
"Good morning, did you rest well?" Vladimir was the first to greet us. His brothers sat on both his sides and we took our seats on the left side of the table, leaving his daughters to sit across from us.
"Good morning" we each greet back.
"The little we could" I lightened "there is the whole time difference that we're adjusting to"
He chuckled.
"How is New Orleans?" Maxim inquired "We're never truly visited the states that often; primarily keeping within the lines of our home region"
"It's a very proud, charming and adventurous city" I smirk thinking all the input we've had in making it what it is.
"No doubt your own kingdom is what it is with your roll there" Vladimir suggested, I confirm.
"Truth be told if it hadn't been due to some inconveniences, we might have settled our own vast empire long before recently" We could have expanded our rule much farther than it was now had we never left, but my father is another one of those topics I prefer to be left unmentioned.
"However, our city still ranks as one of the most fun in the world. I'd say Moscow is due for some evaluating in that area" Kol smirked, as did Marcel.
"We'll have to see if your town knows how to have a good time" he added in, making the brothers laugh with confidence.
"I hope that extends an invitation to evaluate New Orleans for ourselves" a sultry voice calls out and in walk two girls, almost entirely identical.
"Good morning" they chorused with a bold smile.
"These are my twin daughter's, Lenora and Theodora" Maxim introduced the two, to which they gave a slight bow before extending their hands to us one by one.
"It's quite the pleasure" I gave a tender kiss to both their knuckles.
They went on to Elijah, Kol, my sister and Marcel.
"It's so nice that you've returned, Kol" Theodora conversed with my younger brother "I've heard you brought our younger cousin back to us" she cooed.
"How thoughtful" Lenora added.
"I like to help when I can" this already had Rebekah rolling her eyes and I simply dismissed these sort of encounters my younger brother had.
Maxim seemed to clear his throat to signal the girls to take their place.
"So in the time you've been here so far, I do hope Moscow has demonstrated its beauty and riches" with a wave of her hand, the elaborate plates and silver utensils from the side table flew to their proper places before us "I'm sure breakfast will be out at any moment" she smiled.
"Magneto kinesis, how extraordinary" Elijah politely noted
"So Lenora here must be the bio kinetic twin" Rebekah recalled what we'd been re-laid.
With a smile, she suddenly shifted herself to manifest a sort of mirror image. She sat right across from my sister and had now altered herself to look like a mirror image of Rebekah, right down to the movements and direction of eyes or hair.
"Fascinating… but please don't copy me" Rebekah noted, evidently uncomfortable to be staring at a duplication of herself.
Marcel was chuckling to himself "I don't mind" to this, Rebekah elbowed him while Lenora returned to her own form.
"Its cooler to change into animals" a sweet voice giggled from the entrance.
In walked the youngest of the family, Liliana, and not too far behind, one of the other women that had received us last night.
"You each, already know my youngest child Liliana, and Feodor's youngest daughter Tatianna" we each nodded, greeting them as they took their seats across from us.
"Hi Klaus" I was somewhat taken aback that young Liliana singled me out from the others. She waved so happily that a smile was undeniable when you lock eyes with her.
It brings me a joy to know that she finds a genuine trust in me by having Caroline's … friendship. A past together .
"Kol, your back" she notices innocently. I can tell he hasn't had much interaction with the child but smile anyway "…yes, I am"
"Thank you for bringing my big sister back" she beams excitingly,it's almost painful to think it was only done through hidden motives. Tatianna must have informed her.
"I was happy to do it" he smiled, with a mischievous undertone.
"By the way, I'm sorry to say my husband won't be joining us" Tatianna announces to everyone "a business matter" she explains.
Husband?
She actually married someone as an immortal?
Feodor cleared his throat "This business matter is actually of an excellent event we look to share with you soon. It's a great way for you to meet our society"
"What sort of event?" I inquire further.
"Why a wonderful Masquerade ball" we turn towards the door and we are joined with two more of the girls, though not quite who I was longing to see this morning. Megara and Stasya take their seats as Stasya introduces herself to each of us, as we do back.
"Is breakfast late?" Megara looks disapproving
"Yes, I apologize. Not even the coffee and Danishes" Vladimir calls to a server to enter the room.
Once their sat, Stasya continues what was mentioned earlier "It's become a tradition that we join together to celebrate a newfound member that's rejoined our family. So on the night of all hallows eve we look to celebrate not only Natalia's return, but Dimitra's return as well" she elaborates the custom; it's like a homecoming for their long lost family member. Even I have to say it's a true matter worth celebrating. We ourselves are very well known for special occasions.
"We've invited the entire clan. We do hope you'll join us in the festivities so we might make a formal introduction in your honor to everyone" Vladimir asserted, leaving us to exchange glances.
The entire clan?
Could this mean every bloodline descendant? No, that would be far too much, I'd say it would be based off of the rankings.
"What a lovely idea" Rebekah agrees.
"I'm in" Marcel adds.
"Sounds interesting…" Kol grins.
"Yes, I'd say we'd be delighted" Elijah affirmed, leaving me to exchange smiles with Vladimir.
"Wouldn't miss it…" I declare.
We all look to each member of the family, yet it leaves me wondering why Caroline and her newest sister have yet to arrive.
After the agreement, Vladimir scoffs in disbelief "I apologize for this incompetence" he calls for another server.
"Why is the breakfast not laid out yet?" he demands.

I went searching from room to room but I couldn't find her anywhere.
Did she take off on her own? Where did she go to? Did something happen?
I had even decided to check with some of the girls but the empty rooms said they were already gone down to breakfast. Could she already be down there?
No, there were too many windows in this house and she doesn't have her daylight ring yet. Right?
I was about to rush over to see if I could find my father when I was suddenly came downstairs and picked up on a new scent that had vaguely crept in the air.
It's a scent I both dreaded and got chills by whenever it was near.
I followed it and my eyes widened at the realization of what it could be. The blood bags I had left her were completely left empty on her bed…
I made my way through the halls and realized I had come near the kitchen area. Ours was very large and its where most of our family's meals were privately prepared.
I picked up on a noise on the other end but wasn't sure what I would find.
I burst in, hoping to find just the chiefs busy with breakfast. They always come in early to have it ready before we sit down but when I entered the kitchen, my mouth fell open in absolute shock.
There wasn't anybody cooking…
But a meal was taking place…
Blood decorated the floors, the mess showed signs of a struggle and it all lead to the source where a trail of bodies came together to lie dead. Some pale-ish blue, others just normally bitten and bleeding, each of them mangled and left limp where I saw my sister standing tall over all of them.
Her long golden hair hid her face while she bit into one of the women's necks before letting the body fall among the others…
She herself wasn't bloody but her fangs and icy blue eyes clearly showed she was responsible for each death. All fifteen 13 of our private kitchen staff were left lifeless on the leftover pools of their own blood…
She locked eyes with me, before wiping the remaining blood from her mouth.
A sheepish smile actually came to her delicate face "…I got hungry"
