Phoenix got out of the courtroom as fast as he could. He didn't want the press coming to him, asking what went wrong. 4 other people are going to ask him that already, and he didn't need 20+ people on top of that. Phoenix knew what he had to do first, so he scurried down to the detention center.

As he was walking, he heard footsteps coming from behind him. Of course, he knew who it was already. And by who, who was really 3 people. Phoenix tried picking up the pace, but he knew one in particular was going to catch up to him. "Hey! Stop right there!" Weiss caught up to him, getting in front of him to stop. Phoenix turned around to see the other two right behind him. "You have a lot of explaining to do!" The heiress demanded.

"Look, I honestly don't know what happened in there." Phoenix confessed.

"Why didn't you stop them?" Weiss pressed.

"Again, I didn't know what was going on until to late. At least I found a way out!" Phoenix argued back.

"YOU finding a way out isn't good enough! I oughta-" Weiss almost flung herself at the attorney, until a certain voice stopped her.

"Weiss, please. Don't..." a small voice came from behind Phoenix. He turned around to see the hooded girl, head facing towards the ground.

"Ruby..." Phoenix said softly. Man, this is hard for her. This is twice now, and this time, it's my fault...

"It's just not fair!" Ruby exploded, eyes angrier than ever. "It's not fair that Yang's in that jail! It's not fair that she is being accused. It's not fair that your daughter was kidnapped. It's just NOT FAIR!" Ruby cried, and ran past Phoenix, going down the street.

"I'll get her." Blake instantly came forward, nodding to Phoenix. He gave her a nod back, and she took off after her. Phoenix stood there, looking at the running girl with a bow.

"Well, that's just great!" Weiss complained crossing her arms.

"No time for that now. C'mon, we need to get to the detention center." Phoenix commanded as he walked down the sidewalk, not caring if she objected to his plan at all. Whatever counter statement she had to the plan was extinguished, as she joined him on his walk.

Once they got there, they, luckily, got the same guard as last time, who guessed who they were here to see. He showed him to the room, and called for Yang to get to the window. Weiss leaned against the wall behind him, folding her arms.

Once she got there, she made sure the door was shut. She was awfully quite as she took her seat in front of the attorney. "Hey... Nix..." Yang tried forcing a smile, but Phoenix saw right past it.

"Yang. I'm sorry."

"Don't be." Yang shrugged, "Shit happens, no big deal."

"Yang... you're not going to like this as much as me, but you need to be honest with me: Did you do it?"

Yang opened her mouth to answer, but shut it slowly, re-thinking it. She finally gave in to a losing sigh, and answered, "It might as well have been me. You and I both know that. They found everything in my bike, which I did park there. What's the point. I might as well plead Guilty." Yang finally set her head down, burying it in her arms. Phoenix looked at the helpless girl in front of him. He didn't hear anything from Weiss yet. Damnit Weiss! Help me out here! But she didn't come to his aid. Peachy. Just. Peachy. Phoenix complained to himself. But, then he got an idea. It was a long shot, but, hey, might as well. "Hey, Yang." Phoenix said gently. Yang looked up, tears running down her face. Phoenix went for his coat pocket, and brought out a gold chain. He got the picture finally, and opened it up.

"Is.. that... your daughter?" Yang asked, sobbing in between words.

"Yeah, it is." Phoenix replied.

"... It kinda looks like Ruby..." Yang noted, her tears starting to stop.

"Hm, yeah... here." He passed it through the bars. "Keep it; Whenever you feel alone, just open it up. She'll always be with you, Yang. Through the thick and thin." Yang didn't respond, so Phoenix decided to hit it home, "Would you want her to quit right now?" Yang got determination in her eyes.

"No."

"Good. Now, let's get down to business. First, were you really there?"

"Yes." Yang answered, 100% honest.

"What were you doing there?"

"Well, I was driving one night, coming back from a friends house, and it was late. So, I saw the hotel, and, instead of driving tired, I decided to rent a room for a night."

Well, at least you used good judgement. "So, it's safe to assume this was before Beacon?"

"Yeah; if it wasn't I would've called Weiss or Blake to drive."

"If we had a car..." Weiss muttered.

"Do you remember anything weird happen while you were there?"

"No, actually."

"Did you ever leave your room?"

"Yes; at midnight, I went to the vending machine to get a chocolate bar."

"Ok... What time did you leave in the morning?"

"Well, I got breakfast at around 6:00, then got on the road at 6:45."

"Ok; was there anything weird on your car?"

"No, now that I think about it, nothing was son my bike."

"Hmm... okay. I'd better get to the hotel, and your bike. Can you tell me where the hotel is?"

"Yeah; can I see your phone?" Phoenix handed her his phone, and entered the address. "And I assume you want to know where my bike is?"

"Yes, please." Phoenix nodded, and entered that as well. She was about to hand him his phone back, but took a double-take, looking at his phone.

"Hey, who are these people?" Yang held up the screen of his phone to the lawyer. Weiss also took interest, and looked over Phoenix's shoulder.

"Oh, that's Maya and Pearls."

"Maya and Pearls...?" Yang wanted him to go on.

"They were my old assistants. Maya went on to lead her village, while Pearl went with her to continue her training."

"What training?" Weiss asked from behind him.

"Spirit Medium training." Phoenix answered, already knowing what comes next.

"What's that?" They both asked at once.

"A Spirit Medium is a person that can channel the dead. They trade spirits for a short amount of time. The dead can fully talk to whomever, if they accept. Unfortunately, it's frowned upon in our law society."

"Why is that?" Yang questioned, "Asking the dead who killed him or her would greatly shorten the law process!"

"Well... that's a doozy to explain. See, there's a whole story about it, but theres a time and place for that, and right now isn't the time. I need to get to that hotel, so I need to get to there ASAP."

"I understand, go on." Yang kept that fire in her eyes, "But your telling me that story later."

"Gotcha. C'mon Weiss. Let's go." Phoenix headed out, with Weiss, who was strangely silent as she followed.

Once they got there, there were only a few cops, who were heading out. "Guess we arrived right as the party finished." Phoenix sighed, and went inside the Hotel's entrance.

Once they were inside, the greeter came to them, "Good evening! How may I assist you today?"

"May I please speak to the manager?"

"You are talking to him."

"Great; I am Phoenix Wright, and this is my assistant, Weiss."

"Nice to meet you, young lady."

"Nice to meet you too." She replied.

"Very good! Now, to what must we speak about?" He asked.

"Well, I am an Attorney, Yang Xiao Long's attorney, to be exact, and-"

"Say no more!" The manager cut Phoenix off, "I will show you to the room!" And scurried off. Phoenix and Weiss followed him, looking around the hotel as they went.

Once they got there, they saw that everything was still marked, just in case something extra was to be investigated.

"Well, have at it!" The manager cheered, and left them by themselves.

"Well, let's get investigating." Phoenix looked at Weiss, seeing the determination in her eyes.

"Ok, let's do this." She replied solemnly, and dove into the room.

The crime scene was really a calm one. Most of the things were obvious: The body outline was on the couch. Probably sleeping, Phoenix concluded. There were only a few markers left, one including a dead plant. I guess they'll try to make the claim that it killed the plant to... I'll take that into consideration. Aside from those 2 things, nothing really stood out to him. He was stumped. "Find anything Weiss?" Phoenix asked, but she was no where in the taped-off room.

Then, he heard a loud shriek form inside the hotel room, and took of past the tape to, what appears to be the bedroom. Weiss stood there, paler than she normally is, holding her hand over her mouth, and backing up. She tried to talk, but it turned into mutters. Phoenix knew what was about to happen. He grabbed her form her back as she fainted, and lowered her to the ground softly. Phoenix then whispered her name in her ear, until she got up. "Shh... You just fainted. I'll go get you some water."

"No, I'm fine, really. Just give me some time to rest."

"Okay." Phoenix then leaned her against the bed, and got up to see what she was looking at. As he walked over to where she was, it was obvious as to what it was: A very bloodied knife, red all over. The weird thing that caught Phoenix's eye was the ground under it: It was perfectly clean! Phoenix came to one conclusion: This was placed AFTER the crime had occurred. Phoenix finally got an answer as to what could've killed the victim.

Phoenix returned to Weiss, to make sure she was okay. He got on his knee, and asked her that,

"Yeah I'm fine." Weiss paused for a moment, "Hey, Mr. Wright, can I ask you a question?"

"Sure, what is it?"

"Well-" Weiss was then interrupted by her phone, she took an un-interested glance at it at first, then became very involved in it. "It's Blake." Phoenix eyes widened a bit, waiting to hear the conversation unfold. "Hello?" Weiss answered her phone. She started to nod, then put the phone down, covering the bottom of it, "She found Ruby." Phoenix sighed a sigh of relief. Weiss then started to talk to Blake again, nodding every now and then. "Okay, bye."

"What was all the after conversation about?" Phoenix asked.

"It's nothing... We'd better get to that bike, before we conclude our investigation, right?"

"Right, lets go." Phoenix agreed, and they left the room the way it was.

The bike was right were Yang left it: In the Vale repair shop. Apparently, she got into a little wreck, which caused a scratch on the golden bike, which Yang refused to drive with it on, so she got it into a repair store just before the trial earlier that day. The mechanic was told the situation, and lowered the bike for the investigation. Weiss decided to not participate in this part of the investigation, for 2 reasons: 1, she didn't like that bike, and 2, she wanted to think of something to herself, saying she had to plan something. Phoenix understood, and looked over the bike.

He first checked the tail-pipe, for any evidence of the hose. And, there were marks outside of the tail pipe, indicating a hose was attached at some point. Phoenix groaned, because this could be the prosecutions starting argument. He then decided to look inside the pipe, and, to his surprise, there was some sort-of light blue cloth in it. That's odd... I would doubt the mechanics left that in there... Phoenix then decided to pull it out, and, to his surprise, there was...

"Blood?" Phoenix asked aloud. Why were there be blood on this rag? After this discovery, he quickly added it to his court record, and looked over the rest of the bike, which was normal. He took one final look at it, and left the shop and saw Weiss slumped down, sitting there.

"Well, I think I fond some evidence..." Phoenix tried to start conversation, but Weiss didn't respond. He stood their awkwardly, until the heiress decided to ask him a question, "Mr. Wright, could I ask a question?"

"Is it the same form earlier?"

"Yeah..." Weiss took a breath, and continued, "Earlier, you were talking about these 'spirit medium' people. Are they... hireable?"

"Hireable?" Phoenix took his mind back to the second case Maya was charged of, one involving a murder during a channeling. "I believe so, yes. Why do you ask?"

"Well, in 2 days, it's Ruby's birthday." It's Ruby's birthday in 2 days?! Now I know why Yang was more than depressed in jail earlier. She thought she would miss her sister's birthday...

Weiss continued, "And I didn't know what to get her. I wanted to get her something that reminded her of her mother, but I couldn't think of anything. I think you see where I'm going with this..." Weiss faded her voice away.

Phoenix sighed, thinking, and finally answered, "Maya Fey."

"Who?"

"Maya Fey. The current leader of the Kurain Village. She's your best bet."

"She is? She won't be busy?"

"Now that, I don't know. I haven't seen her in years now..."

"Oh..." Weiss's head slumped a bit. Phoenix felt sorrow for the heiress. The both looked and, as the bell gonged.

"Oh crap! Curfew! I'm sorry, Mr. Wright!" Weiss then ran off, waving to him as she faded in the distance. Hm...

Phoenix then got the idea of visiting Yang one more time, just to see how she was. When Phoenix got over there, they informed him someone was already visiting her. "That's okay, I know her friends." The guard gave him a peculiar look. "If you say so..."

Phoenix knew that her teammates dressed weird, but to cause that type of reaction was unusual. But, Phoenix brushed it aside, and then realized why the guard acted strange. Confusion entered his body as he approached the room.

Phoenix opened the door, and both Yang and her guest looked up. "Oh, hey Mr. Wright!" Yang called to him, happy.

"..." The guest only looked at him.

Phoenix put on a cheeky grin, and scratched the back of his head, "Oh, hey... Yang... Prosector Achilles..."

"Mr. Wright! I'm glad you made it!" The prosector said with sarcasm.

"Why are you talking to my client...?"

"Well, I was actually hoping to catch you here, and seeing as you weren't, I decided to talk to your client."

"Well, I'm here." Phoenix opened up his arms, "What is it we need to talk about?"

"Your daughters kidnappers." The prosector said, not sugar coating it what-so-ever. Phoenix got serious, more serious than ever, and stood in front of the prosector.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I did my own research," The prosector spoke, "And I can tell you this much: These guys aren't the White Fang."

"How do you know?" Phoenix demanded.

"Do you already forget my last name Wright? Torchwick?" The prosecutor scolded.

"Point taken. Any idea who it is?"

"No, but I think this may be an inside job in this case." The prosector explained, "See, I may have 'accidentally' wire-tapped your phone during our last trial."

"How did you-"

"Oh, let's not get into details, Phoenix. Anyways, The way he reacted to that 'Ruby' girl, was peculiar."

"My sis?" Yang blurted out.

"Yes, indeed." The prosector answered. Yang looked down, and got out Phoenix's medallion, looking at the picture again. "I've heard that response before, and I may have an idea, but I need to get into it more. Don't worry about your daughter, Mr. Wright, I'll take care of it."

Phoenix was quite for a little while, trying to understand what was happening, and all that could come out of his mouth was, "Why?"

"Why?" The prosector repeated.

"Why do this? Why help me?"

"Well... I... don't know, to be exact... maybe... you unlocked something... in... me?" The prosector asked himself. The two lawyers were both silent, until interrupted by Yang, "Yes! My Yaoi Fanfic is coming true before my eyes!" The two paused, and looked at her strangely.

"What is..." Phoenix started,

"...Yaoi?" The prosector ended. Yang's eyes widened, not knowing why she said that out loud. "Umm..." Yang started, praying a silent prayer, which was answered the by loud-speaker.

"Visiting hours are now over: May all the guests, please leave their rooms at once, and prisoners move to their cell at once. Thank you."

"Well, hahaha, Tah tah!" Yang said, and zipped out the door. The lawyers were both left standing there, trying to realize what just happened, but both decided to forget about it, and went on their separate ways.

Phoenix walked to his dorm-room, too caught up in his thoughts to even noticed if someone was talking to him. I got all the pieces, but there are so many factors that play into this, it's hard to say what I should do tomorrow? Play defensive of offensive? Either way, I just need to trust that Achilles will come through for me now. If I don't... I may never see my daughter again...
