THE CRASHED PARTY
(DESSIE'S POV)
When Zack and I were going back, he took me to Rayne's who turned me into a Barbie doll kind of a thing. I never ever enjoyed those short dresses but I looked sexy enough so that wasn't a problem but the high pump heels she made me wear…god, they were so annoying. The dress was a mix colored one with black v-neck. She didn't mess much with my hair because she said I looked better with them that way. I now knew it. I just so knew they were going to do this. She was going to send me and Zack to some fancy restaurant. God, I so hate these kinds of places. I felt that already when Dallas was using words like "Pffttt." Or "Duh."
"Why are you guys doing this? I told you I don't want any special treatment." I said.
"We are sending you on a date with Zack, if that's much of a special treatment." Rayne answered.
"Ray, why do I need to get ready this much for it? I mean Zack and I always go out together, so what's the big deal?"
"Would you just shut up and be happy with this?" she got annoyed.
"Oh whatever." I moaned.
"Now, get going." She pushed me over and I didn't get how Zack walked in and prevented me from slipping over the high pump heels. I never know how his timing is so great?
"So, uh, let's…uh, get going?" he asked me.
"Um…yeah." I murmured loud enough just for him to hear. Rayne was chuckling at whatever just had happened.
It was weird how Zack was driving just round the same place and I could feel that in the darkness. When it had gotten to the brim, I flipped out.
"Zack, would you tell me, why the hell are we rounding up at this certain place?" I shouted. Just in that second, his phone buzzed and he turned the car in a direction I had no idea of.
"Wait a minute, are you kidnapping me?" I asked him. Yeah, right. As if.
"Yeah, you're supposed to get me a lot of money, don't you think so?" he answered back.
"Sorry, wrong question." I muttered. He pulled the brakes in the middle of the road where there were woods on both sides. "What now, Z?"
"Do you love me?" he asked me.
"Zack, you know better than me, that I love you a lot." I answered.
"Well, okay…do me a favor. Go out." He didn't wait and made me get out of the car.
"What is happening, if I may know?" I asked him, annoyed. These high pump heels were already really annoying and Zack was making me stand on the top of it, so yeah, I was supposed to get irritated.
"Okay, just like the last time." He said and covered my eyes.
"Zack!" I complained.
"Look, you just said you love Me." he said.
"Yeah, I know but…" I but was cut off.
"Buzzzzz" he cued me to shut up.
"Urgh, whatever." I muttered. He made me walk in those stupid heels. "I so wanna kill Rayne for this." I referred to those black pumps. He was making me walk in the woods. I could feel the high grasses and mosses brushing against my feet and legs. They kind of itched and I was going to fall about three times but I didn't need to worry because Zack was there. He would never let me get hurt, no matter what.
"Okay, I think we're here." He said. "I mean almost." I could hear the buzzing noises as if we were somewhere where there were a lot of people. It was kind of crazy but… I just couldn't get why it was so noisy because we both hadn't entered any restaurant kind of a thing.
"Okay, we're here, Smiles. I'll just open." He let go off my eyes slowly but the lights fell straight into my eyes and I had to adjust to see.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DESSIE!" I heard the shouts. My eyes had just adjusted and I could see everything clearly now.
OH
MY
GOD!
Finally, what I saw was….a clearing which was decorated. The trees were done with the streamers and colorful balloons. There was the music deck and the tables and all with food and my whole family was there and so were the friends from… wait, a second….that was KEIRA!
"Whoa." Was all I could say. Keira shrieked and came to hug me.
"Oh my god, Dez, I'm so happy for you. Well, happy birthday, first of all and you know what…" she was babbling and so I couldn't get everything she said.
"Wait, how and when did you come here?" I asked her.
"I just came here in the morning." she answered in an understandable voice.
"So, wait, you guys planned it?" I asked them. Everyone from Mystic Falls was there, especially the hunters.
"Well, kind of, yeah." Zack answered.
"W…what about…Damien?" I stuttered to Keira.
"I don't really know…he's not there in the town since three months. I thought you guys had the 'break up' talk." She answered. Well, that was strange because I hadn't told Keira yet about Zack and me and well, let's just say like everyone, she was one of them who knew I was never happy with Damien.
"But how do you know?" I was way too skeptical.
"Well, my dear, I have eyes and they hadn't been covered." She answered.
"So?" I raised my eyebrows. Nothing had happened between both of us since the second we were here.
"Nothing. I just knew that sometime you had to start with this." She told me.
"Okay, whatever." I answered. Well, anyway, first of all, these guys threw a full fit of a party and I swear, they started with bursting the balloon although I liked that noise, I mean I loved it actually. Then, the worst thing happened.
"Okay, Aiden, you go!" Zack called Aiden over the stage to make him sing. Oh my god! Now, that's the worst thing that could've happened. I mean, I swear.
"Hey, do you know him?" Keira went way too blushy. She under circumstances never blushed…even when she saw my brother taking off his clothes when he was going for a shower, SHE WAS BLUSHING!
Wait a minute…
Did Aiden see her?
If yes, might be…
No, he just went to the stage kind of a platform they had made with the wooden planks and we all just had covered our ears and he stopped…
He freaking stopped before singing?
He did?
And that was when Austin went all crazy looking at him and Keira.
"What just happened?" he asked me. I mean, Austin asked me.
"Don't have any idea." I answered.
"He imprinted on her?" Dallas whispered to me.
"I don't know. You guys are asking me as if I am Edward." I retorted.
Wait a second, Keira asked me if I knew Aiden and Dallas was the seventh one, right? Aiden backed out at the last second. Well, anyway, I was happy that he did back down otherwise my and everyone else present here, would have had their ears smoking.
"UHF! UHF! We want UHF!" everyone started cheering. UHF (Ultra High Frequency) was a band that consisted of Zack, EJ, Riven and Evan made when I was 12. I didn't know what happened to it later when I went but yeah, it was there till I was here, at the Rez.
Okay, they did sing and one of my favorite songs which was 'What Makes You Beautiful' and you know I went so melty like cheese on pizza. It was so sweet when Zack looked at me every time the chorus came and at the end, he jumped to where I was standing and he just made the scene exactly like when in the video, Harry Styles goes over to that girl and sings with his forehead next to hers.
Well, after that, they had a lot of games and did a lot of fun till when the last game was Newspaper dancing. I was exhausted and I didn't really want to play it.
"Okay, so who all's playing?" Rayne shout-asked. Well, that was when Keira said she would be playing with Aiden.
"Zack, what's with Aiden and Keira?" I asked him.
"He imprinted on her." he answered.
"I knew that! YES!" I shouted and punched the air.
"Great, so the pairs are: Austin-Carol, EJ- Grace, Evan-Natalie, Jack-Avery, Dallas-Harmony, Aiden-Keira, Me- Riven, and Zack-Dez." She announced.
"Whoa, who said I was playing it?" I protested.
"You just said 'yes' when I asked you if you were playing." She answered.
"C'mon, Smiles, it's gonna be fun." Zack told me.
The game was simple. There were newspapers laid on the ground and the pairs had to dance on them. Every time a person slipped off the newspaper, the game would reach to the next level and the paper would be folded in half in respect to the size of the present. Zack and I got the place next to a tree.
"Why are we playing this? Can't we just sit and relax for some time?" I asked him.
"It's gonna be fun watching everyone fall from here." He answered.
Okay, so Evan-Natalie slipped off the newspaper and so did, Rayne and Riven. Both the girls got so mad on their partners that they almost seemed like blown off. The papers were folded in half and it was a bit difficult this time. I took off my footwear and just moved, not danced this time. We kept this on and the final pairs left were me-Zack and EJ and Grace. This ended when Grace's heel slipped and we won. I was so tired by now that I now needed Zack to hold me so that I don't fall. Next, I realized was that I was somewhere cozy enough to sleep.
(ZACK'S POV)
I knew she had started dropping down and I knew if I don't hold her properly, she is going to make us lose it.
"Hey, wake up, Smiles or we gonna lose it." I told her. Not that it really mattered losing from Grace, but EJ and I had had a bet on it and EJ is having real pain in his stomach since the second I told him that I'd be giving her a bracelet with a 'D' on it and 'Z' somewhere in the side. Even last time, he almost slipped it.
"Oh c'mon, what's the difference?" she asked me and in the same second, Grace's pencil heel (or whatever girls call it) slipped off tearing the first layer of paper and we both won.
"Ah, finally. Now, can I sleep?" she complained. When sleepy, she gets so fussy that it is hard to understand what she means at times. She would ask you for Skittles and if you give her that, she would shout for Doritos. Now, that's just one example.
As soon as I almost let her off, she was about to fall and I had to put her in a chair.
"She's sleepy." Dallas told me as I was brushing her hair to the back. I so hate him at times. I mean he just has to interrupt when I have got this cute peculiar pain in my stomach seeing her.
"Yeah, I know." I answered.
"So, what do you think?" he asked me.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You didn't give her the bracelet yet, dumbass." He told me.
"Yeah…I totally forgot about that." I lied.
"No, you didn't. You're just too embarrassed." He answered. Why does he have to be so witty at times?
"I'll leave her home." I said and picked her up. I walked to the Cullen's house because that was nearby. I walked in and god, did Emmett have to be here? I was so sure he was going to comment on this.
"Uh-huh. You guys tired her that much?" he gave a snide smirk.
"Well, it's almost the whole day she's being pulled here and there." I answered.
"You got to give her a birthday kiss?" he came to the main topic.
"Uh, no." I replied straight.
"Man!" he complained.
"Okay, I'll take her upstairs." I said and put her in the extra guestroom.
"Hey!" this was Alice's excited voice.
"What now?" she had actually startled me off.
"Okay, whatever. Now, tell me, did you give her that?" she asked me.
"Didn't get to." I countered.
"Uh, you're sometimes just as ludicrous just as your dad used to be at times." She said.
"She slept off. What do you want me to do? Wake her up and give it to her? Smiles, I really love you and happy birthday? Want me to say that?" I was ridiculed.
"Not…" she was normal at this word. "A bad idea!" she glowed up.
"Okay, better idea. I tie it on her wrist and she gets to see it later. Ta-da!" I proposed.
"Urgh, you're so boring, Zack." she stomped outside and all I did was tie that bracelet on her wrist and kissed her forehead.
"Happy birthday, Smiles." I whispered. She turned her side. I gave the blanket on her and left. I decided to go back home and decide what the better thing to do is.
TWO HOURS LATER….
You know what, it is still not 12 yet and I can still say 'Happy Birthday' and 'I love you' to her face. I can give it to her and see her blush. That won't be weird. She is my imprint after all. That shouldn't be weird. I saw that the whole Cullen family was tensed. What had happened? Alice walked up to me.
"What's up, Alice?" I asked.
"Dessie…" she was saying. I pushed past her and ran upstairs. The room was empty.
"WHERE THE HELL IS MY IMPRINT?" I shouted. Jasper had come after me.
"I think…Damien took her away." I heard grandpa Carlisle speak. I turned to him; my eyes were flushing with anger. He gave me a half torn paper.
You know what, Zack? This game is over. She is mine and you can't take her away from me…no matter what you do, she is my property. Confused? Didn't even give you a challenge and took her away? Oh and most of all… how do I know? Don't worry…no one told me and that sister of mine is way too useless if you're thinking she did that. She's just too stuck up for that…I saw you in the concert with her today. Coming to the challenge, if you take her away from me before I make her mine, she's yours. And by 'make her mine', I mean I am going to marry her. You got just 13 hours.
Best of Luck…
Damien…
"HE. CAN. NOT. DO. THIS!" I shouted and punched the wall. It cracked. I knew he wouldn't have gone far but where would I ever find him?
(DESSIE'S POV)
"Why did you do that? WHY?" I heard someone shout as I was shaken awake. I rubbed my eyes and moved to pick myself up and I was shocked…way too shocked to see that it was DAMIEN. He was the one shaking me and right now, I was in some room that resembled a room that was beautiful but a bit old. The walls were blue and there was a couch near the table at the side.
"Where…where am I?" I asked him, my voice was creaking because that look of his had given me a hint that everything was not okay and he was angry.
"You're with me, doesn't that give you a relief, Desiree?" he had grabbed my arm and twisted it at my back and come so close to me that it seemed really dangerous. I had now started hyperventilating.
"No…there's no need to be scared, my love." He brushed my hair to the back of my ear.
"Stay…stay away from me, d-Damien." I protested trying to move back.
Oh my god!
Oh my god!
"You never told Zack to stay away from you, did you?" he yelled.
"Damien, I can explain." I tried to defend myself.
"No, you cannot. All we are left with…you will marry me…In some hours." He sounded totally like those lunatic criminals you watch on Crime Investigation shows. He looked at his watch. "Ah-hah, ten hours left, love." He said.
"Why do you want me?!" I complained.
"Because I love you and you are going to help me rule the hidden world. Against you, no one would fight me." he said.
"But…but that…would be wrong." I tried to spit out.
"Are you going to tell me what's wrong? ARE YOU GOING TO TELL ME THAT?" he yelled. "Do not even dare to run from here because; one: you won't know where you will be going; two: I will kill Millie if you run and my dear, I know how much you love your niece."
"Where's Millie?" I was alarmed all of a sudden. I had to be.
"Just sleeping the next room. Don't worry; no one will treat her badly if you be a good girl." He told me. I knew Damien was a psychopath, I mean I totally did but this much of it? I had no clue. I had just thought that when he knows, he would call a war against the shape shifters and would be defeated because the hunters would be at our side but it wasn't so. He was way smarter than I had thought. He was way more of a politician, I swear. I couldn't help crying knowing that I was hanging in between. Neither could I die, nor did I want to live. This was the worst feeling that I had ever had in my life. Zack and I had been away from each other but that time, I hadn't realized what was between us…that something was so strong that it got me back to him. I mean, I never ever wanted to stay away from him and when I was away, I had thought that I had no chance of getting back to him. I somewhere always had a soft corner for him in my heart…a soft corner? It wasn't a soft corner, in fact, it was the whole space. It was so much more than strange, I couldn't understand what I had to do exactly. I knew once Damien possibly turned me, Ruth would make me forget every single memory of my real life. Ruth was another vampire here, who when I was first kidnapped actually controlled my brain.
