Anyways guys I am going on a Art tour soon so duuuh I won't be updating my shizz. Quick note: My best friend's grandmother passed away recently and she is going through a hard time so shout out to A****. I hope you feel better and if you are reading this, just know that all my readers are also reading it :D I will always be here for you my buddy 3 I love you :)
Sorry about that, I just wanted to make this chapter special so basically I am dedicating this chapter to my bestie :)
Waking up the next morning, Ukyo got out of her bed at 7:30 and walked to her calendar, "Thank the pope today is Tuesday! I still a little less than a week catch up on homework and to do all the shopping" She made a fist and placed it on her chest as if it was an honor.
I wonder if Hibiki is awake, she thought as she exited her room and strolled towards the guest room. She gently knocked on the door and after a few seconds, she heard him giving her permission to enter.
"Good morning Hibik-" She was cut off as she saw a shirtless young man doing sit-ups right next to the futon.
"Hey, good morning Ukyo," He greeted back at her while still doing his sit-ups.
Slapping herself back to reality, Ukyo tried to speak as naturally as she could to Ryoga, "Uhm… I was wondering… I am only going to reopen the restaurant next week Monday so maybe… Uhm… We… I mean, can you come with me to the library to get some books and also help me with the shopping?"
The bandana boy stopped what he was doing and sat crossed-legged to faced the brunette beauty, "Ah… sure I guess, but can we stop at my house? I just have to get some extra change of clothes cause I feel bad for always using your things."
"Don't sweat it, I don't mind people using my stuff but as long as you don't ruin it. And sure, I can walk you to your house but do you know your address?"
"Of course, who do you think I am?" Ryoga replied with humor in his tone as he smirked at her.
"Well you are hopeless when it comes to directions. Anyways, after we have breakfast and get changed, you can tell me your address and I can take you there," Ukyo informed the bandana boy as she walked out of the guest room.
"Hibiki, are you positive that this is your house?" Ukyo asked Ryoga for the third time.
"Yes I am pretty damn sure I know how my own house looks like."
"Okay just making sure your memory of your house is still as clear as a crystal."
The fanged boy scoffed at the girl and walked on ahead, "Come on Ukyo, before you are the one that ends up getting lost," he turned around and gave her a sly grin.
"Yeah right! As if I am you, getting lost in a room or something!" She returned the jokey attitude to Ryoga as she run up to him and gave him a light smack on the head.
"Why do you always do that?" he whined as he rubbed the place where she hit him.
"That's how I show my compassion," she grinned at him.
"Hmph, whatever you say."
When the two teenagers arrived at the doorsteps of Ryoga's house, Ukyo's eyes widened slightly. Wow, his house is actually stunning for someone that has been almost homeless for half of his life, she thought as she stared at a 1 story house with light beige walls and it was one of those typical traditional Japanese houses.
The front door was the only non-Japanese looking feature of the house. Ryoga walked to the front door and bent down to get something from under the mat. He pulled out a small silver item and Ukyo saw what it was.
"Ohhh wow what an original place to hide your key!" Ukyo returned the mock she received from him the previous day.
"Just shut up. It's better than yours!" He snapped at her while he inserted the key into the keyhole and unlocked the front house.
He walked in and Ukyo followed his steps, "Yeah, yeah whatever you say Hibi-" she was cut off.
She stared at his house with her mouth hung open. The place was absolutely beautiful! It looked exactly like those traditional Japanese houses she had seen on television countless of times. Her eyes darted from one area of the room to another. She carefully analyzed the room and it was very classical and gorgeous.
While the brunette was busy admiring the room, Ryoga walked to the counter and saw a piece of paper on it. It was addressed to him.
Dear Ryo-chan
Your papa and I are going away for a while. Once you come back home, remember to look after the house for us. If you also leave for a trip, make sure all the electrical appliances are off (except for the fridge of course) and lock all the doors and windows.
We won't be gone for tooooo long
Love you my little Pumpkin
From: Mama and Papa
Ryoga sighed. He hates it when his Mom calls him Pumpkin, it is so damn embarrassing! Ryoga looked at the bottom of the page to see when his mom wrote the note. It was 2 weeks ago. Damn, that means the house had enough time to catch itself some dust and all other kinds of stuff. He knew if he didn't clean the house, his Mom would bite his head off.
"Ukyo, would you mind if we stay here for a little while?" He looked behind him towards the spatula girl, who was looking at small pictures hanging from the walls.
"Hm?" She asked, barely paying any attention.
"Ukyo!"
"Yeah?" She turned towards his direction slowly.
"Answer my question dammit!"
"Oh…" she sounded a bit slow, "Errr what was your question again?"
"Would you mind if we stay here for a little while?"
"Oh! No, not really, but what for?" Ukyo gave him a questioned look, "You're not going to take advantage of me are you?" she half joked.
"Take advantage of yo- Oh hell no! Why the hell would I do that?" His face flashed a bit of red, "I just want you to help me with a little bit of the cleaning!"
"Cleaning? Yeah sure, I really wouldn't mind cleaning in a gorgeous place like this!"
"Okay good. Wait here while I get the apron, gloves and cleaning supplies," The bandana boy informed Ukyo as he disappeared around the corner.
After admiring the room, Ukyo walked up to the counter. The note Ryoga's mom left for him caught her attention and she started scanning her eyes through it. Once she was done, she tried not to burst out laughing by smothering her hand over her mouth.
She calmed herself from the silent laughter and wiped a small droplet of tear away from her eye. Ukyo looked at the counter and right in the corner, by the wall something caught her eye. It was shoved behind the paper towel rack, almost invisible. She moved the paper towel rack out of the way and saw a whole bunch of books. Not just any books but school textbooks? "What the-" Ukyo took one of the text books and stared at the front cover. It was a Life Science textbook. There were a lot of sticky notes on the sides and Ukyo chose a random one and flipped to that page. It was about the transport systems of animals. The brunette couldn't stop flipping through the pages because that specific topic was so interesting.
"The heart has two sections and each section has two chambers. The makes up 4 chambers in the whole heart. The heart is divided by a thick muscular wall called the septum," She read out loud softly to herself.
We are going to learn this later this year! Ukyo thought as she carried on reading her current topic. I wonder why Ryoga has these books, he doesn't even go to sch-, her thoughts were interrupted by a certain bandana boy.
"Wh-what are you doing? It's rude to scratch in other people's stuff!" He scolded her.
"Sorry I didn't mean to. It was just…" She tried to think of an excuse, "Lying there and I thought it was a reading book."
"Sure buddy," He scoffed sarcastically.
"Hibiki, I though you said you don't go to school," Ukyo asked curiously.
"I don't."
"But then why do you have the grade 10 Life Science text book?"
"I ah… well… I got them last year. You see uhm…" Ryoga shifted awkwardly, trying to gather his thoughts together. "Even though I don't go to school, my parents buy school books for me so I can self learn them. Basically you can say I am homeschooled but since I am constantly traveling, I teach myself everything."
"That's really cool, at least you are getting some form of education," Ukyo gave Ryoga a small smile. "What subjects do you take?"
"I take Life Science, Accounting, Mathematics and Geography-" He was cut off.
"Pffffffffffffffffft…" A weird sound came from Ukyo. "Geography? Why would you do that? There is no point for you to learn about the world and the map when you even get lost in someone's house!"
"Shut up! I think my sense of direction is improving a bit!" Ryoga barked.
"Emphasize on the word 'a bit'."
"Shut up! It isn't my fault that my whole family is cursed with no sense of direction!"
"Yeah yeah whatever. Hibiki, why don't you take Physical Science? It's really nice." She gave him a curious look.
"It is too difficult, I tried going through it last year but I didn't understand anything, especially chemistry," he looked down at his shoes.
Ukyo's eyes brightened up, "That's my favourite! Chemistry is one of my favourite subjects! Hibiki, you must try it, it is so fun!"
"Ahhhh I can't stand chemistry! It is the worst and why would anyone want to learn about atoms, molecules and all of that shit?"
"Come on Hibiki! It is the best subject! I can help you if you want because after all, I am the master at chemistry," She used her thumb and pointed at her chest and flashed the bandana boy a flashy smile.
Ryoga couldn't help but smile at the girl in front of him, "Hey stop using my sentences against me!" He joked.
"What on earth are you talking about? I have no idea." Ukyo acted all innocent and stared at him with her bright turquoise eyes. "Hey Hibiki, wanna hear a chemistry joke?"
"Yeah okay…"
"Sorry, but all my chemistry jokes Argon," She smiled brightly at him, hoping he would understand the joke.
"That's a lame one Ukyo," He smiled at her playfully.
"Awww I thought it was Sodium funny," She pulled a sad face.
"Haha cut the lame jokes now. Put my textbook where you found it and let's clean this place quickly so you can go to the library." The fanged boy turned around and handed Ukyo the cleaning supplies.
"Aggg…" She moaned as she took the bucked and gloves from him and went to the sink.
"No complaining! I thought you were the one that said you wouldn't mind staying here a while longer."
"Yeah I know but I don't want to clean anymore, I just want to go to the library and then go home," Ukyo moaned as she filled the bucket with water.
"The quicker you keep your mouth shut and clean this place, the quicker we can go home." He walked past her and flicked her cheek.
"Man, what was that for?" Ukyo wiped her cheek with the back of her hand.
"Oh nothing…"
"Hmp!"
'The quicker we can go home,' what the flip did I say? Dammit! Ryoga thought as he went to clean the other side of the house.
'The quicker we can go home,' what the hell does he mean by that? Ukyo replayed what he said in her mind. Does he view us more than friends or something? No it can't be, we only know each other for a few weeks! It can't be that he likes me right? Ahh don't be stupid Ukyo, she shouted at herself in her mind. He is in love with Akane, we are just friends… juuuuuuust friends.
"Shit, I am such an idiot!" both Ryoga and Ukyo whispered softly at the same time. Fortunately none of them heard each other…
Review guys :) If there are any areas that needs to be corrected or whatever, just tell me :)
Sorry for the lame chemistry jokes, I had to put them in there :D If you don't understand the jokes, ask someone who knows and understands chemistry :)
The next chapter won't be coming too soon cause I am being a study bug cause this is my important year :/
Hope you enjoyed the chapter and see you soon 3
