I went in my bedroom, where I changed into my pajamas and was ready to go to sleep, when I heard a tap on my window. Of course I thought. I went and opened the window, letting the crow in. When Damon had transformed back into human form, I stood in front of him.

"Today was..." I trailed off. He smiled.

"Yes, it was." He said. I thought for a moment.

"You know what's really stupid?" I asked him after a moment. He looked down at ne, slightly smirking. He seemed really thoughtful tonight.

"What, princess?" He asked.

"Even though Stefan told me to stay with Elena and away from the Masquerade Ball, somehow I ended up in it." I said, lightly laughing. I expected him to laugh, but he turned serious and a little angry.

"Damn, Stefan." He muttered under his breath.

"What? Why?" I asked him. He looked down at me and sighed. He chose carefully what he was going to say.

"It's just that...I told Stefan to keep you safe and, as much as he could, out of the plan. I didn't want to lie about what we were going to do, like Stefan did, which led to Elena coming at the Ball. And since he wanted Elena safe too, I dropped the idea if both of you staying at home. And even though he did what I told him, you still managed to come at the Ball. You really get into trouble a lot, Bella." He said. I was confused.

"You...told Stefan...to suggest I stay at home...with Elena?" I asked. He stared at me.

"Yes." He simply said.

"Why?" I murmured, looking up into his eyes.

"Because...I care about you. Maybe I'm the most selfish person on earth, but...I care about you." He said, with so much emotion. His eyes glinted with an emotion I couldn't exactly understand, because he quickly looked away. I took his face into my hands, forcing him to look at me.

"I care about you too." I murmured, my lips ghosting over his. As I looked into his beautiful eyes, I reached up, closing the little distance between us and kissed him.

Now...(BPOV)

The ringtone of my cell phone woke me up the next morning. I had set up the alarm to wake me up, so that I had enough time to get ready for school. I blindly searched for my cell phone on my bedside table letting out a groan in protest and then answered it without even looking who it was.

"Yes?" I murmured incoherently on the phone.

"Get dressed and come at the Boarding House. Now." The voice from the other side of the line said and it took me a minute to understand who exactly it was.

"How did you get my number, Damon?" I asked him, frowning. I didn't recall giving him my number.

"It doesn't matter. Just do what I told you." He said.

"Which is…" I trailed off, already have forgotten what he had told me to do. Excuse me, but I had just woken up. I heard Damon sigh.

"Get dressed and come at the Boarding House. It's important." He repeated.

"But I have school, remember? And I have already missed a day. If Charlie hears about this…" I said. He sighed again.

"It will be over really quickly and you'll go to school with Elena. She's coming by too." He said.

"Fine. But, if I lose first period, I'll have you responsible." I said and ended the call.

With a sigh, I jumped out of bed, now fully woken up, and after taking a matching pair of bra and panties with me, I went and took a quick shower. After getting out, I quickly got dressed in a white tank top with the Batman logo on it and a pair of skinny jeans, took my bag and went downstairs.

"Good Morning, Dad." I greeted Charlie with a smile. He smiled warmly back at me.

"Morning, Bells. How come you're up so early?" He asked, his brows furrowing in confusion.

"Um…Elena asked me to meet her and the Salvatore's at the Boarding House before school." I said. I knew I couldn't lie properly, so why try now?

"Why?" He asked me even more confused. I shrugged.

"I don't really know myself. She just told me to meet them there." I said honestly. Charlie slowly nodded, taking in what I said.

"I'll let that one slide. But, be careful and don't be late for school." He said and I nodded. "Say 'hello' from me to Damon and Stefan. I haven't seen them in a long time." He said with a small smile, turning back to reading his newspaper.

"Thanks, Dad." I said, taking out of a kitchen cupboard a granola bar.

"Don't get used to it." Charlie said and I chuckled.

"I'm going to go now. Ok?" I asked already on my way to the main door.

"Be careful!" Charlie called out one last time, just as I closed the door behind me.

-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-

I was at the Boarding House and just about to knock on the door, when a hand touched my shoulder. I turned around quickly to see who it was, my heart beating erratically inside my chest. I sighed in relief when I saw it was Elena.

"You scared the hell out of me, Elena! Don't do it again!" I said, lightly punching her on the arm. She lightly laughed.

"Sorry, Bella." She said. I shook my head.

"It's ok. He called you too?" I asked her. Her brows furrowed in confusion.

"By 'he' you mean…" She trailed off.

"Damon." I said. She shook her head.

"No, Stefan did. He said it was important." She said shrugging. A voice interrupted us.

"Are you going to chit-chat there for more or are you going to get in?" Damon asked us from the door that he had now opened.

"What are you Damon? Big Brother? And what's up with you people today? Why do you have to scary me all the time?" I asked annoyed and Damon rolled his eyes.

"I've been called a lot, but 'Big Brother' is a first." He said smirking. I rolled my eyes.

"Oh, you know what I mean." I said and walked inside. This entire thing with the vampire hearing and stuff was getting on my nerves. We all went to the living room, where Elena and I saw who we thought we were never going to see again.

"You." I and Elena said in unison.

"Yep, it's me." Rose said calmly.

"What's all this about?" I asked Damon, turning around to look at him.

"Just listen." He said with a serious expression, but caught my hand in his and led me to the couch where he sat beside me. That movement of Damon's, of course, didn't go unnoticed by everyone else in the room. Elena sat down beside me, while looking between Damon and I. Everyone then turned and looked at Rose who was standing by the fireplace.

"Ok, you have to understand I only know what I've picked up over the years and I don't know what's true and what's not true. But, I know he is real." Rose said.

"Who's he?" I asked confused.

"Klaus, one of the Originals. He's a legend." She said.

"From the first generation of vampires." Stefan added.

"Like Elijah?" Elena asked. Rose shook her head.

"No, Elijah is nothing compared to Klaus. Klaus is the real deal." She said. "He's known to be the oldest." She added. Elena slowly nodded, taking in what Rose just said.

"Ok, so you're basically saying that the oldest vampire in the history of time is coming after me?" She concluded. This is unbelievable.

"Yes." Rose confirmed, nodding, the same time Stefan said 'No' while shaking his head. Damon rolled his eyes.

"What they're saying is, I mean if what she says is true…" He started, but Rose interrupted him.

"Which it is." She said.

"And you're not saying it so I don't kill you." Damon said.

"Which I'm not." Rose answered immediately.

"Then it's a maybe." Damon said. Am I the only one puzzled here? I turned and looked at Elena, who had the same expression of confusion I had. Ok, then I'm not the only one. Stefan shook his head at Rose and Damon.

"Look, Elijah's dead, right? So, no one else even knows that you exist." He said to Rose.

"Not that I know of." She said nodding.

"That's not helping." Damon said.

"Look, I've never met anyone who's laid eyes on him. I mean, we're talking about centuries of truth mixed with fiction. We don't know if he's even real. For all we know, he could be just some sort of bed time story for children." Stefan said. Rose sighed, shaking her head.

"He's real and he doesn't give up. If he wants something, he gets it. If you're not afraid of Klaus, then you're an idiot." Rose said. Damon rolled his eyes at her.

"Alright, we're shaking. You made your point." Damon said sarcastically, faking a shudder. I turned and looked at Elena to see her looking at her cell phone. She suddenly got up.

"Where are you going?" Damon asked her.

"School. We're going to be late. If you don't want to be late Bella, you should get up." Elena said to me with a smile.

"But, what about my car? I'll leave it here?" I asked. Damon lightly squeezed my hand.

"I'll take it to your house. Don't worry." He said and I nodded, understanding.

I got up too and Elena, I and Damon walked to the doorway. Elena walked in front of me, going to her car, but I was held back by Damon.

"Not again Damon." I said teasingly. He smirked.

"Don't I get a kiss? You know…for the day?" He asked sweetly. I laughed. This time, I leaned in and kissed him directly on the lips. He seemed satisfied by this, as he lightly bit my lower lip. I pulled away when I started to feel dizzy from the lack of oxygen.

"I have to go, Damon. If I'm late, you're responsible." I said. He smirked and I turned to leave.

-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-

"I can't believe I'm doing this. If Charlie learns about this…" I trailed off.

"Bella is right. I can't believe I agreed to this. You know I'm a terrible liar Elena." Caroline said from beside me. Elena sighed, but continued to walk with big strides.

"Just tell everyone I wasn't feeling well and I went home from school. And keep Stefan busy, please. I don't want him to know about this." Elena said. Like Damon isn't going to be mad about me going with Elena.

"I'm even worse at duplicity and you know this." Caroline said groaning.

"And what's my excuse Elena?" I asked, because I agreed to do this without even knowing why I was supposed to miss school. Stupid me. Elena shrugged.

"You offered to drive me home to make sure that I was ok. Then you'll go back to school." She said.

"Are you sure we won't be long? Because there are only a few hours left." I said. I looked at Caroline, still hesitant about the whole thing and she just shrugged.

"Now come on, and watch where you step." Elena said and the three of us went under the church ruins. It was dark and the air seemed to thicken. We went and stood just outside the tomb's entrance.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" I asked her. Elena nodded confidently.

"Yes, I'm sure. She's the only one who knows the truth about Klaus. The only one who can tell me how to stop him." She said and I sighed.

"Elena, you know you're asking for the truth from someone who's probably never going to give it. Are you sure about this?" Caroline said, repeating my question.

"Yes, I told you. I can't just sit back and wait. I have to know, Caroline." She said and looked at both of us. I looked at Caroline as she stared at me and we nodded in unison.

"Now, how are we going to open the door?" I said, pointing at the tomb's door. Elena stayed silent.

"You haven't thought about that, have you?" I asked her. Suddenly, Caroline cleared her throat successfully getting out attention.

"Excuse me? Have you forgotten that I'm a vampire and I have superpower?" She asked, faking irritation. I laughed.

"Sorry." Elena and I said in unison.

"I keep forgetting you're a vampire, Caroline. You just seem so…normal " I said. Caroline shook her head at us and went towards the door, opening it.

"You don't have to stay, Caroline. Go and keep Stefan busy." Elena said to Caroline. Then, a voice was heard from inside the tomb. The three of us turned and looked at the tomb's entrance, where now Katherine stood, supported by the wall, looking pale, more like grey, and wearing the same clothes she was wearing in the Masquerade Ball although now they were dirty.

"Hello, Elena. You came to watch me wither away?" She asked sarcastically. She then noticed Caroline. "Goodbye, Caroline." She said to her and then she saw me. "Ah, look who's here. Bella, is it? You were the one that convinced my witch, Lucy, to go against me." She sneered. More like accused. I didn't even blink an eye.

"She already didn't like you. She did it only because she owed you." I said, but she ignored me, looking at Elena. Elena turned to Caroline.

"As long as we stay at this side of the door, she can't hurt us. Go, and do what I told you." She said to her. Caroline hesitated, before she silently turned and left.

"Does Stefan know you're here? He'd be really mad if he knew you were here." Katherine teased Elena, smirking. She turned to me.

"I bet Damon would be madder if he knew you were here, helping little Elena. Ah, he's so sexy when he's mad." She said. She's just taunting you Bella. Calm down I thought.

"I brought you some things." Elena said, completely ignoring what Katherine said previously about Stefan. Katherine cocked her head at one side.

"You came to bribe me? What is that you want?" She asked.

"I want you to tell me about Klaus." Elena said, getting straight to the point.

"Hm, I see. You've been busy." She said.

"I brought you this." Elena said and took out from her bag and old book. "It's your family history. It says in here that the family line ended with you. Obviously that's not true." Elena said and Katherine smirked.

"You think that if you brought me some family keepsake that I'd open up?" She asked.

"She also brought you this." I said, holding up a bottle with blood that Elena gave me earlier. As soon as Katherine saw it, she rushed towards me with wild eyes and more energy that you'd think she had in her condition, but she was stopped by the spell that kept her from coming out of the tomb. Elena had told me about it earlier.

"You don't look so good. How long is it before your body shuts down? Ten, maybe twenty years? It must be painful to desiccate and mummify. I can't even imagine." Elena said, faking pity. Katherine sighed and sat down at the floor, with me and Elena soon copying her movements and sitting down at the other side of the door. Elena poured some blood in a small cup and pushed it towards Katherine, who greedily took the cup and drunk it, her skin regaining some of its color.

"You have the Petrova fire." Katherine said to Elena, setting the cup down.

"More blood?" I asked, taking the cup and after pouring a small portion of blood, I gave it back to her with a wooden stick I found on the floor. Elena was listening carefully to what Katherine was saying.

"It's a long story, Klaus and I. It goes all the way back to England, in 1492, after I left Bulgaria. Or it's better to say I was thrown out." She said. My eyes widened at the mention of the date. 1492? Wow, she's old. I thought. Katherine looked at me, slightly smirking. "Yeah, I know. I'm old." She said, with a light laugh and I gave her a little more blood, which she quickly drank.

"Thrown out? What do you mean?" I asked her and Elena nodded.

"My family, your true ancestors" She pointed at Elena "they disowned me. My indiscretions were not tolerated at that time. I had a baby out of wedlock. I was a shame for the family." She said with a sigh.

"It was kept secret?" Elena asked her.

"Mhmm. My baby was given away. I was banished to England and I had to adjust quickly, so I learned and became English." Katherine said, faking an English accent. "It was there that I caught the eye of a noble man named Nicklaus. I was talking with him at first, until I found out what he was and what he wanted from me. And then I ran like hell." She said, gazing ahead, probably recalling the memory.

"So, what did Klaus want?" I asked her, giving her more blood.

"The same thing he now wants from Elena. He wants to break the curse." Katherine said.

"By sacrificing the Petrova Doppelgänger." Elena said and Katherine nodded.

"He wanted to drain every single drop of blood from my body." She said.

"What does the Petrova bloodline have to do with Klaus?" Elena asked Katherine.

"It's really tedious but…The curse was bound by the sacrifice of Petrova blood. Witches are crafty with their spells. The Doppelgänger was created as a way to be able to undo the spell. Once the Doppelgänger reappeared, the curse could be broken." She said. I filled the cup with the last bit of blood that remained gave it to Katherine. She seemed to have regained most of her color.

"So, you ran before Klaus could kill you?" I asked her.

"Something like that." She said, staring ahead. "Trevor- you remember him right? - Yeah, he helped me and told me to go to a cottage where I could ask for help. Rose was there. But she had other ideas. She said she would take me to Klaus and ask for mercy for the both of us." Katherine said.

"I'm sensing there is a 'but there…" I said and Katherine chuckled.

"You're funny, Bella." She said. "But correct." She said.

"Rose never ended up taking you to Klaus, did she?" Elena asked her.

"No, she didn't. But not because she had a change of heart." Katherine said, shaking her head.

"Then what happened?" I asked her. She gave me a devious smirk.

"I killed myself." She said, as if it was nothing.

"You killed yourself?!" Both Elena and I exclaimed.

"How?" I asked her.

"I hanged myself from the ceiling by a rope." She said calmly.

"But how are you alive now? Well, not alive exactly, but…" I trailed off.

"I get what you mean. Rose had given me her blood to heal and to keep me alive." Katherine said. "Klaus needed a human Doppelgänger. As a vampire, I was no longer any use to him." She explained.

"But it didn't work. You didn't really escape, you've been running from Klaus ever since." Elena said.

"I underestimated his want for vengeance, but living in a suitcase is better that dying so you can have your blood spilled over some silly little rock." Katherine said with a scowl, but then smirked at Elena. Elena had paled and seemed terrified.

"What's wrong? Are you afraid I'm right? You don't want to die? There's another way out." Katherine said and cut her wrist with her nail. She bled in the beginning, but the wound slowly started to heal. "You better hurry. You opportunity is going, going and…gone." She said as the wound healed completely. "I made the other choice." She said.

"Are you feeling ok, Elena?" I asked her, placing a hand on her shoulder. What a stupid question Bella. How could she be ok, after learning that there's no other way out. I mentally scolded myself. Elena shook her head, as if to clear her head and then looked at me.

"I'm fine." She said and then looked at Katherine. "Rose and Trevor spent the last five hundred years running, because you used them. Trevor just got killed." Elena accused her. Katherine looked like she didn't care at all, picking at her nails.

"I never thought he would have lasted that long." She said, as if he wasn't the one to save her years ago.

"You don't even care that you ruined their lives." Elena said.

"I was looking out for myself. If you're smart, you'll do the same." Katherine said. We stayed silent for a moment, the only sound the wind from outside and birds chirping.

"So, how much of your little story is true?" I asked Katherine, looking at her suspiciously.

"I have no reason to lie. I have no reason whatsoever to do anything but sit here and read and rot." She said.

"Ok, assuming it's even partially true, that's the reason you came back, isn't it? Because you wanted to be the one to hand us over to Klaus." Elena said and Katherine shrugged.

"Five hundred years on the run, I figured maybe he'd be willing to strike a deal." Katherine said.

"So, you got Mason Lockwood to find you the moonstone." I pointed out.

"Correct." Katherine said nodding.

"What else do you need to break the curse?" Elena asked her. Katherine smirked.

"Hm, look who's getting smarter." She teased.

"It's not just me and the moonstone is it? Otherwise there would be no reason to trigger Tyler Lockwood's werewolf curse." Elena said and I looked at her confused.

"When did this happen?" I asked her and she sighed.

"At the Ball. Stefan told me the night of the Ball just a bit before I came to find you at the car and with all that happened I forgot to tell you. Katherine had compelled another girl, which I think was a friend of Aimee Bradley, to fight with Tyler until she was dead. Tyler killed her, so…he triggered the curse." Elena explained. I gasped.

"Witches and their spells." Katherine said with a scoff. "So many ingredients, so many people to sacrifice." She said.

"What else does it need?" I asked, getting impatient.

"A witch to do the spell. Mine bailed, but Bonnie would do just fine." Katherine replied.

"Something else?" I asked.

"A vampire." She simply said.

"Caroline." Elena said with a gasp. Katherine shrugged.

"It could have been anyone I suppose, but I don't like Caroline, so…" Katherine trailed off. I can't believe how she calmly talks about ending people's lives, as if it is nothing.

"So, you were going to just hand us all over to be killed." Elena said.

"Better you die than I. And be careful. Because Klaus might not get you Elena, but he will hurt all your loved ones. Believe me. I know." Katherine said and then turned away from us, taking her family book that Elena had given her, with her further inside the tomb. Elena and I silently got outside, me having a weird feeling at the pit of my stomach hearing again and again Katherine's last words in my head, and started walking towards the driveway, where Elena had left her car when we came here.

"Do you want me to drop you by your house?" Elena asked when we reached her car.

"Yeah, if you don't mind. Because I came with you today at school and at the tomb, so I don't have a ride." I said and looked down at phone, checking the hour. "And it seems like school is over too. I'm in big trouble." I said with a chuckle, thinking of Charlie. Elena smiled at me. We got inside the car and Elena started it.

"Don't worry. And, of course, I don't mind giving you a ride. By the way, do you want to hang out at the Grill tonight? It's been a long time since we last went out. I think we need it, after all that happened." She said, giving me a small smile, that didn't reach her eyes.

"Yeah, sure. I'll ask Charlie, but I don't think he'll have a problem." I said.

"Sure, but…wait a minute. Come by my house to give you something. It will be just a minute." She said grinning.

"Ok, now I'm afraid." I said. She laughed.

"Don't be such a Drama Queen." She said and we laughed together. A real laugh.

"Ok, then. Finally, a night out. With my friends." Elena said smiling.

-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-

"Come in. I just want to give you something to wear for tonight." Elena said. I groaned audibly as we walked inside her house, but Jenna appeared at the door and when she saw me she grinned widely at me.

"Hey, Bella. How are you?" She asked me and I smiled.

"I'm doing fine, Jenna, thanks. You seem better." I said and chuckled.

"Yeah, I know. At east I can walk now." She said and I laughed. Elena shook her head at us and impatient as she was, she grabbed my hand, guiding me upstairs.

"It was nice seeing you!" I called out to Jenna and I heard her laugh. Elena and I went to her bedroom, where she went straight into the wardrobe looking for what she wanted to give me.

"Elena…Why can't I just wear a T-shirt of my own. I got my own clothes you know. And it's just a night out with you guys." I said and Elena shook her head at me.

"It's not just a night out. It's a night out to…'chill' after all that happened. I told you before." She said.

"Don't fool yourself, Elena. You heard what Katherine said." I said. Elena stayed silent. After a minute, she came out of her wardrobe, holding a black cami top with straps on the shoulders and back. I sighed.

"Ok, I'll wear it, just for you." I said and she smiled at me. I stood up to leave with the top in hand, but turned again to Elena.

"And…Don't worry, Elena. We'll find a way out of this mess. We'll get through this." I said and hugged her. She gave me a small smile.

"That's what we always do." She said.

-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-

After taking a quick shower to freshen up, I took out a pair of light blue skinny jeans and pulled them on, paired with the top Elena gave me. Instead of putting on my black flats, I chose to wear a pair of black wedge sneakers that I'd bought on a shopping trip with the girls and never had the chance to wear. After looking at myself in the mirror, fixing my hair a bit, my eyes fell on my open jewelry box where there was supposed to be the necklace Damon had given me. I searched further in the box, but came up with nothing. Suddenly, I felt a finger trail at the nape of my neck and then the cold feeling of metal. My eyes turned to look in the mirror, staring at the reflexion of the handsome vampire in the mirror.

"Looking for this?" He asked while closing the piece of jewelry around my neck.

"Thank God. I thought I lost it, in all the fighting and running the other day. Thanks, Damon." I said and smiled at him. He seemed thoughtful. My hand reached out and I caressed his cheek. "Is there a problem?" I asked him, staring into his eyes.

"Why did you go to Katherine?" He asked. I was taken aback.

"How-…How do you know?" I asked him. He took my hand away from his cheek and held it tightly in his.

"I know everything. And Caroline isn't the best liar in the world. Word travels." He said.

"I'm sor-…:" I started to say, but he stopped me.

"No. Do you know how dangerous it was for you to go there? You don't know her." He said.

"I know. But I wanted to be next to Elena. And I knew that if I told you, you wouldn't let me go." I said. He shook his head.

"Everything she says is a lie, Bella. She always lies." Damon said, now angry.

"You didn't hear what she said, Damon. Whatever you do to escape Klaus, he will get his vengeance on your friends, your family and anyone that you've ever loved. That's who he is. Everyone is in danger. Whether he gets Elena or not." I said. His eyes softened.

"We'll find something. Just, please, don't do this again. To me. At least say it before you do it, ok?" He said, looking into my eyes.

"Ok." I murmured. He leaned in, until his lips touched mine, soft and warm. A warm feeling run through my whole body as he kissed me. I pulled back and looked at him.

"I'll see you at the Grill." He said and he disappeared into thin air, leaving behind only his masculine and sweet smell. With flashed cheeks, I pulled on my black jacket and went downstairs. I was running late, so I thought I could call Charlie on my way to the Grill, since he wasn't here. Just when I was ready to open the main door to go, Charlie opened it and got in.

"Hey, Dad." I said. He smiled at me.

"Hey, Bells." He greeted me back.

"How come you're so late?" I asked him. He took off his jacket and boots.

"Just had a long shift." He said, shrugging.

"I'm going at the Grill with the guys. Is it ok?" I asked.

"What if I told you 'no'?" He asked me, amusement shining in his eyes.

"I'd just…get undressed and sat at home?" I said and he laughed.

"It's fine, Bells. Go have fun. I was just playing with you." He said and I hugged him without thinking about it. He seemed surprised at first, but then relaxed and gave me an awkward pat in the back.

"Thanks, Dad." I said smiling.

"Goodnight." I said and went out the door.

-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-

It's been almost an hour since I came to the Grill. At first, it was only us girls and Stefan. As soon as he got inside the Grill, he ran to Elena and went out to talk. They were surely talking about us going to Katherine. When they came back in, they seemed to be getting closet. At least I hope they get back together, because Elena and Stefan not together is just…weird. I was laughing at something Caroline had said, when I felt a hand run at the back of my neck, tracing my necklace. Goosebumps appeared on my skin and I looked up to an icy blue stare that warmed my heart.

"The necklace looks good on you." Damon said, tracing the necklace, all the while leaving a trail of fire on my skin where he touched me. My cheeks flushed and I looked down.

"Well you know what to choose, don't you?" I said, looking at him from under my eyelashes. Someone cleared their throat. Caroline looked from Damon to me and back to Damon.

"And why did you decide to honor us with your presence?" She asked Damon and he rolled his eyes. Seriously, I was afraid his eyeballs would come out with all the eye rolling.

"I thought it would be fun to win a game of pool with a Blondie." He said. Caroline's eyebrows rose up in challenge.

"Is it now?" She said.

"It's so game on and you know it." Damon said and Caroline stood up from where she was sitting.

"Well, then, let's do it. Mr. Cocky Vampire." She said and they both went at one of the pool tables. Elena came and stood beside me.

"I never thought Caroline was the type to play pool. It seems like Damon brings out that side of her." I said and Elena laughed.

"Caroline is always up for a challenge. Especially one coming from Damon." She said. I took a deep breath, tearing my gaze away from Damon and Caroline and looked at Elena.

"I think I'm going out for a moment." I said. Elena immediately seemed worried.

"Why? Are you feeling ok?" She asked and I shook my head at her, smiling.

"No, I'm fine. I just need some air." I said. I needed some time to gather my thoughts that were driving me crazy, and doing it while breathing in fresh air, seemed like a good idea. She nodded and left me, turning to the others. I went outside the Grill and stood on the wall of the Grill, closing my eyes and taking a deep breath. This past few days had been crazy. From Damon to Elena and I's kidnapping, to all that Katherine said. What if it's true? Is Elena doomed? Are we all doomed? I thought as Katherine's last words came to my mind.

'And be careful. Because Klaus might not get you Elena, but he will hurt all your loved ones. Believe me. I know.'

I don't even want to think of the other option. Suddenly, I felt a change in the air, goosebumps appeared on my arms. A shiver run down my spine. And it wasn't a good shiver. I recognized his smell before I even opened my eyes. My eyes opened wide, in alarm. And my heart stopped. Then, it started beating wildly inside my chest. I could hear it in my ears, thumping crazily.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Golden eyes gazed into my own. It's been so long since the last time. Or not? The blurry memory of how cold where those eyes the last time I saw him.

"Edward?" I managed out. He gave me a faint smile. Or, better, he tried to smile, but it came out as a grimace.

"Bella."

A/N: Aah, cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers, but in that case I love them! There are sets in my Polyvore account for this chapter, go and check them out. Leave me your review, tell me your opinipn. Honestly, I think this chapter is more of a filler, you know. I only like the scene with Damon and Bella and of course the end.

Btw, did you watch the TVD finale of Season 5? I'm not going to say much in case you haven't watched it, but...I'm extremely sad. :( The people who watched it will understand what I mean.

I think that's all! Review!

Love,

Kristi :D
