WHAT A FINE MESS

"Arandi, wake up." Dean shook her harder and finally her eyes flew open and she sat up and realized the scream had really ripped from her throat.

She tried to get a grip on herself and she heard Sam and others in the hall way calling out to Dean. He got up to open the door and tell them what had happened, with relieved sighs they all headed back to bed.

She sat on the edge of the bed and wished for once that her dreams weren't so freaking vivid. She really wanted to be like other people who couldn't remember what they dreamt upon waking.

She remembered every awful detail and she knew that it would be in all her dreams for a while. After all the Winchesters had pierced that veil quite literally with no hope of going back unless she was struck with amnesia.

Dean brought her glass of water and she drank it down and thanked him.

He sat beside her. "Want to talk about it?"

"I dreamt that you were a demon." She blurted out.

She waited for Dean to laugh or something along those lines but he sighed and got up. Took a swig of whiskey straight from the bottle and motioned to see if she wanted some.

She took the bottle and swallowed as much as could in one gulp. It burned awfully because these men didn't drink the cheap stuff but she really needed it.

She kept her eyes on Dean who now stared out into the night looking like he was thinking really hard on what she had said. Maybe he had been possessed like Sam had but she didn't see why he would leave that out.

"I should have never dragged you into this life." He murmured. He rubbed the bandages on his ribs mindlessly.

"You didn't drag me." Arandi replied thinking hard on how to keep Dean with her because if he booted her out now she'd never get anywhere. She stood up and pulled him towards her hugging him and laying her head on his chest. "It was just dream."

"That could become a real nightmare."

"Dean, you can't have told me all this just to kick me to the curb."

That seemed to bring him around. "No, no, that would be stupid." He hugged her back.

"So where can I get one of those protection tattoos?" She tried to make light.

"Oh you already have it." Dean shrugged sheepishly. "Made sure you got it while you were unconscious after you got shot. Cass has made this incredible ink that starts off like a regular tattoo but then in couple of days fades into the skin. It's still very much there doing its job though."

Arandi looked at herself in the mirror squinting hard at her shoulder as she pulled the shirt down to see what she could make out but saw nothing.

"Only visible with black light."

"Thanks, I guess."

Dean shrugged again. "So ready to get back to sleep?"

Arandi nodded although she doubted she'd be getting any sleep. She suddenly wished that Dean was at a hundred percent so that she could wear herself out riding him or something along those lines but she didn't dare risk hurting him.

Dean though had to be some kind of freaking mind reader because as soon as they were comfortable and he was spooned behind her he began to give her sweet little butterfly kisses all along her neck.

"Dean, you really shouldn't strain yourself."

"Not planning on it but I am going to make up to you those two wonderful orgasms that you gave me yesterday." He said as he gently pushed her onto her back and pulled her leg over his hip. He ran his fingers lightly over her bare thighs and then over her belly and breasts under the shirt.

She couldn't help but give a full body shudder at his touch. He kissed her slow and easy and she felt his fingers moving down and brushed her panties aside. Soon his fingers were working her like he was the master of such things. If not a master he sure as hell deserved an honorable mention.

Arandi had never known fingers could feel so fucking good. She bucked and mewled and begged for more as he kept up the process. She knew one thing if nothing else. Now that she knew that Dean had killed only evil her feelings were working in another direction and they weren't slowing down one bit.

She woke to a soft kiss on her cheek and met startling green eyes and a cocky grin. "I see you slept much better." He said low and husky.

Arandi smiled and stretched like spoiled cat. His fingers and a toy that he made appear out of thin air had had her screaming nearly as loud as the bad dream had. He hit every spot that made her come undone more than once and she had quite literally passed out. "What time is it?"

"Past noon."

"What?" Arandi couldn't believe that she had slept that well. Her stomach growled loudly.

Dean laughed and Arandi watched his face looking much less serious and so handsome it hurt. She couldn't help but reach out and caress his face and he looked at her with a soft smile and kissed her palm. He leaned into kiss her slow and sweet making Arandi melt.

He pulled back to look at her his eyes dark with need and she couldn't deny him that, not now. So she sat up and moved him onto his back and pulled his boxers free. He was already iron hard so she had no problem doing all the work while she rode him like their lives depended on it.

Dean was sound asleep naked and spread eagle on the bed after their little round of pleasure and Arandi just watched him. Sam had brought them food and had probably sensed that going past the door was not a good idea. So he passed the tray of food to Arandi and she thanked him and kicked the door closed.

She set the tray down and leaned in to kiss Dean and his eyes fluttered open. He smiled a lopsided content smile.

It made Arandi's heart jump and she didn't want anything to change about it, not today.

"So Sam brought us roast beef sandwiches and fries that could probably feed a small country or you." She picked.

Dean sat up slowly and rubbed his abs with a sly grin. "I have great metabolism and I get plenty of exercise." He wagged his eyebrows.

He stood up and pulled her into his arms and kissed her breathless. He pulled back slowly and looked into her eyes as he caressed her face with his knuckles.

The way he looked at her made her heart stutter and she began to panic on the inside. She couldn't take those words not now not until she figured out how to keep Dean and everyone else safe and…..

Dean was looking at her quizzically now. "You okay?"

Arandi gave him her best shy smile. "Sorry, all this manliness makes me zone out."

Dean laughed and hugged her then they got ready to eat.

Dean stood on the balcony of his room and watched the black SUV leave with Arandi and Bella.

She needed some essentials that none of his men would touch with a ten foot pole not for his girl anyway.

His girl. That made him smile warmly. He never thought he'd ever say those words again about anything or anyone besides his car.

He had let her go with Bella only because realistically they couldn't be up each other's ass twenty four seven and because she used those damning blue eyes on him that worked magic faster than Sam's puppy dog look. That didn't stop him from worrying.

He had almost said the love word to her and it just wasn't the time for that. Besides she had seemed to sense it and tensed up so he dropped it. He cared a lot for Arandi especially now that she had so willingly opened up to his life…..so far.

Maybe it hadn't sank in yet. He didn't know but he didn't want to lose her. He missed her already.

He moved back into the house to see if Sam had found any good hunts.

Arandi got everything she needed and then some. Dean had handed her a credit card and told her to go crazy. When would men learn those words were dangerous when said to a woman who could shop for hours.

She even got Bella acting like a crazed nut looking for the next big sale. They had a blast ate on the run and they both had to answer texts every five minutes because apparently Dean was wondering what was taking so long. They had laughed till there sides hurt.

They sat on a bench eating warm cinnamon pretzels and Arandi watched the crowd around her and she watched each face that passed her. "Are there monsters here now?" A thought that she would never again be able to push away in a crowd.

"Vamp over there." Bella motioned with her head. "He's not a human killer though he sticks to cows and other animals."

"How can you tell?" Arandi stared because to her he looked like a normal human. "Aren't vampires supposed to have fangs?"

"They do but they only show when they are about to feed and they are fine in the sun as well for a little while anyway. None of that crap like in the movies. When you've been hunting as long as we have you learn to read the signs. Still there are some out there that you just can't tell."

It was then Arandi remembered Jagger's warning. "I'm sorry."

Bella smiled. "Hey, I've killed many a bastard and yeah I miss my family but thanks to Dean and Sam I have been able to cope quite well."

The vamp turned to look at them and Bella nodded to him and he responded in kind. A silent understanding.

Arandi had to suppress a shiver. "I don't even know where to begin coping."

"You're doing pretty damn good. I thought everyone was nuts for a long time and it finally sank in." Bella chuckled. "You just have to know, Arandi, that they are out there and most of them seem like ordinary humans until they are ripping someone apart."

The words hit harder than Arandi could process and she knew she had to have paled because Bella was suddenly looking at her with concern. "Hey, you alright?"

"I think I got a bad pretzel." Arandi managed as she stood up and tossed the remaining pretzel in the trash. "Do you think Dean will mind if I pick up a laptop?"

Bella straightened and made her voice husky. "Bella, you better make sure she buys everything she wants and needs and you better make sure she stays safe."

Arandi giggled. "Well, then laptop it is and I think we need these boots in a different color." She covered up as best as she could because in all the happenings reality had finally bit her in the ass.

Arandi was upset and covering it up was hell. Back at the house she found that all the men but Milo and Tom had left and Dean had left her note of apology and that he would be back in a couple of hours.

She wasn't sure which room she was supposed to put her things up in so after they helped her unload into the foyer, she headed to Dean's room and locked herself in and as fast as possible got the laptop booted up and going.

With her security password for the police station she started scanning over case after case that involved the Winchesters and she scanned each report she found the info that pointed out the things she was wrapped up in now. A Russian vampire here, a werewolf there. She stared at the screen for a few minutes and knowing that she was going to regret it she opened up files from her old precinct. She knew they had never bothered to take her off the computer listings because they were sure that she would come back. So nothing she searched through would be flagged.

She checked case after case and she wanted to cry and run and scream. What freaking kind of cop was she? She noticed now with her newly opened eyes that at least one out of every ten cases she had helped close all the signs pointed to the supernatural. Innocent people were sitting in prison because she thought she had done her job well.

She quickly rebooted the computer back to factory reset and booted it up to make it look as if she had done nothing but set it up and shopped on E-bay.

Her head ached and she felt nauseas as all hell. Innocent people were rotting away because not enough people knew the truth and there wasn't a damn thing she could do about it without creating a shit storm.

She took a shower and got into another of Dean's shirts. She unlocked the door and then climbed under the covers and fretted herself into a fitful sleep.

A thump and whispered cursing brought her awake and by the darkness that filled the room Arandi knew more than a couple of hours and slid by.

She sat up and quickly snapped on the lamp. Dean stood hunched and frozen in place covered in dirt and Lord only knew what else. "I didn't mean to wake you." He said sheepishly.

"Dean, what the hell?" Arandi squealed jumping from the bed. "Are you alright?"

"I'm good it was just a salt and burn. I swear." He didn't quite cover the wince.

She was still a mess and this just topped it all off. "What do I do when it's more than a salt and burn?" She plopped onto the bed trying to calm herself. She didn't need the hysterics right now. She sure didn't need Dean second guessing his choice.

"Arandi, I don't know what to say." He started.

"No, Dean, I'm sorry, still adjusting. I know what I'm getting into I just quite haven't wrapped my head around it all." She blinked at him.

He sighed. "Just let me take a shower and we can talk."

"I can help with that." Arandi smiled grateful for any distraction.

Dean though didn't look half as thrilled as he usually did at such an offer. "Promise you won't freak?" He huffed.

There was no way she could ever promise such things now but she nodded none the less.

He began to slowly and obviously painfully to pull clothes off and Arandi's eyes widened as bruised and bloody skin started to show all over his body.

"Dean…"

"I get super acquainted with grave stones. It's a hobby." Dean tried desperately for humor.

She ran her fingers lightly over a dark bruise just below his still healing claw marks. It was at that very moment that everything fell over her like a black curtain suffocating her into a reality that she had far from asked for.

She looked up into Dean's pained green eyes seeing the concern and worry for her when he was standing there looking like he was going to pass out any second and like he had been used as a punching bag by every boxer worth his salt.

Dean the man that she had for so long thought was this deviant monster was just a gorgeous wonder of a man that was doing what he could to save the world one person or family at a time and letting his own world fall behind until her and she was here to put him away. Tears started pouring down her face that she couldn't control.

"Arandi, I'm really alright." He said his voice laced in concern.

She reached up and pulled him into a fiery kiss. She needed to feel him because she could no longer deny that she had fallen hard for this unsung hero and he was all she was going have to because proving Dean's innocence was going to be nearly impossible and she knew she would have to walk away from the police force. There was no way she could ever do her job objectively again.

She pulled back from him and he looked a bit dazed after the kiss but pain or no pain the man was lit up raring for more.

She knew this wasn't going to go well but she had to have something to fall back on when she played the final hand. She would eventually have to tell him who she really was but she couldn't do that until she used all her sources to make sure Dean and his family didn't see a second behind bars and he would probably hate her anyway for lying to him, so for now…."I want to be a hunter."
