'Some of us are in danger.' Tonkin said two days later to the dauntless compound. There were mutters across the hall of the compound. 'Remember when the factionless broken into the compound and painted on the walls, they were names hidden in numbers. We have spent the last few days cracking the names and now we know who is in danger from the factionless.' Tonkin looked at me and I handed him to note. He took it and started to open but hesitated.
'I haven't been honest with you, any of you. My name isn't Riley, its Tonkin. Tonkin Ozera. Yes I was one of the survivors from the massacre. Ella here is too.' He said looking at me. 'We are still in danger. Instead of 10 children, its 15 they want. Some of our dead friends are on the list. They are not dead anymore.' There were more mutters. 'Any way on the list we have from Dauntless, Kyle Dener and Kally Hughes.' There were eyes trying to find the unlucky people. A mother screamed and I knew her child was one of the two. I knew the mother, Lauren; she helped my aunt in training. She was an instructor along with Four.
Two large circles formed around the children. Kyle was a Dauntless born and stayed in Dauntless but Kally was a 15 year old girl. I took pity on her the minute I saw her. Christian and Joshua, (Very sorry but he was Jason in chapter 12.) went to the children and took them. Kally was crying but Kyle was very still. Kally started to call for her mother. Tonkin went down to Lauren and told her that Kally will be safe as we are taking them somewhere for a few days. Lauren nodded and Tonkin came to join me.
'That went well.' I said as we walked out of the compound. He looked at me with his 'Ya think' eyes. I giggled and he took my hand and laced his fingers with mine. I leaned my head onto his shoulder and even though it lasted a second, it felt like forever.
'Where are we going.' Kyle asked us. His face had turned pale white. Even though he was putting on a brave face, I could tell he was crumbling inside.
'I don't know but it will be safe.' I promised. I racked my brain for a safe place and then I saw Leon. The outside, of course. My face must have lit up because Tonkin looked at me and asked what I was thinking about. We went round the other factions to recruit the others.
