A scream from below interrupted me before I got the chance to reciprocate his feelings. We lowered back to the roof quickly, wondering what the commotion was. Marshall and I disentangled ourselves as we descended, we shot each other concerned glances.
The scene below was not one that I could have ever guessed. Todd and a girl with white hair who I could only imagine was Ashley were standing together on one side of the roof, with what looked like vampire goonies floating behind them holding Princess Bubblegum and the other holding Finn.
They saw us coming down and the girl I thought was Ashley smiled innocently at us. I could feel Marshall tense up next to me.
"Ashley…What are you doing?" Ah so I was right and this was the bitch in the flesh who slept with my boyfriend. And the douche bag who still wanted to sleep with me. The pale girl grinned at Marshall, unnerving me and making him tense up even more, I vaguely remember him saying she was a witch.
"Oh just dropping by for a visit." Her silvery eyes turned to me and she cocked her head to the side, smiling even wider at me.
"I ran into your friend Todd here, and he told me all about you. What a hunk of vampire he is, shame for you to turn him down for my Marshy." My fist was slowly clenching, my eyes narrowing. This was a threat mission, to strike uncertainty into the both of us to give them what they want.
"Why do you have my friends?" I ask calmly, not looking at either Princess Bubblegum or Finn as I knew as soon as we made eye contact I'd lose it on every single person here.
"Oh, We've just come to make a deal is all." Ashley purred, taking a step closer to Marshall. My canines were threatening to tear through my bottom lip if I didn't get a grip on my rage.
"And what kind of deal is that?" Marshall asked, taking a step backwards and glancing towards me nervously.
"The good kind." Todd finally popped in, walking forward and away from the shadows.
"We just want what's ours." Ashley says, a corner of her lips turning up in a smirk. She was steadily advancing toward Marshall Lee who looked slightly panicked, trying to keep distance but not look like he was afraid of her. Which he obviously was. Todd was advancing on me his signature smirk on full display.
"So you're friends will be dropped from this roof unless you agree to the terms." Todd said gesturing to their goons that on cue floated off of the roof to float freely in the air, moving around to gesture their captives demise.
"Oh and if you try to stop us we'll keep them hostage." Ashley added in, the previous smirk on her lips turning into a snarl. I slowly sidestepped toward her, staring at Todd while I did so to not draw attention to my movement.
"What do want from us?" I snap, when Marshall doesn't say anything. Todd grins at me and I'm getting really tired of their psychotic grinning.
"Well, I want you, Marceline. And Ashley wants Marshall Lee. And we both want the two of you to not be together." I glance at Marshall only to see that Ashley has her head rested on his shoulder, Marshall standing straight as a rod. I get the feeling she already has him under her spell which means I'll be doing all the work on my own.
"So all you have to do, love. Is come with me and nobody gets hurt." Todd smiles as if he's got me trapped.
I glance around me in a way that seems casual but I'm actually taking in the situation and weighing my options. Todd seems to notice this as his demeanor changes, he seems to get irritated eyes narrowing as he looks at me. He quickly advances capturing my lips in a kiss without warning, as soon as he does my mind begins to get clouded and I realize that he's been charmed with some sort of love spell. I quickly push him off of me and spring into action, swiping my foot around his ankle to disorient him quickly. Todd tumbles to the ground and I whip around moving with inhuman speed over to Ashley taking her in my grip and running off of the roof. I know that Jake has been hiding this whole time and hope that he gets enough of a grip on his fear of vampires to save Finn and Peebles if they get dropped.
"You dumb bitch what are you doing!?" Ashley screeches trying to get out of my hold, I tighten my grip on her and momentarily sprout my enormous bat wings, flapping them once to get us to the ground faster.
"Stay away from Marshall Lee!" I scream back, the wind now whipping in our ears, as we near the ground. Suddenly Ashley starts mumbling something and we're so close to the ground that if I lesson my grip on her she'll be able to flip us over to make me take most of the damage. I have no choice but to let her cast her spell.
A flash of white light is all I see before a rush of air pushing upwards hits us and sends us flying upward until we're both safely back on top of the roof. Everyone is still for a second processing what has just happened in a matter of seconds.
