I'm Back! Ok got my creative juices flowin and im ready to write. Here goes.
First i need food. Ok now that im being fed, i can write.
"Elizabeth Grayson is dead." Hayley marched Elly to the entrance of the circle of caravans was. He shoved her out and said to her, " Don't come back. I have no time for your lies."
"Well that was helpful." Elly muttered to herself as she rejoined the Stolls.
"Did it work? Did you get food?" Travis asked as they walked away.
"No." Elly had started thinking about letting the brothers steal from criminals or billionaires.
Billionaires...Who warded Dick again? He lives in Gotham, right? What was his name again? Bryce Rain? No, Bruce Wayne.
"Do you guys no who Bruce Wayne is?" Elly asked.
"Yeah, He's a billionaire who lives outside of Gotham. He won't miss a couple hundred dollars." Travis replied with that look on his face.
Elly frowned. "I have a better, more legal idea."
Twenty minutes later, the trio was standing outside of a huge mansion situated on top of a steep hill. The brothers glanced at each other, silently daring the other to ring the door bell. Elly let out an exasperated sigh and rang the door bell.
Bruce was getting tired of Alfred's constant pestering. It had been a year ago that Dick left. Bruce kept telling himself that the reason he hadn't called Dick was because he wanted to give Dick some space to blow off some steam but he knew he was lying to himself. Bruce was just struggling to swallow his pride. So when Alfred knocked on his study door for the fifth time that afternoon, he lost his temper.
"I WILL TALK TO HIM EVENTUALLY! Now will you leave me alone?"
"That is wonderful news sir, but I have not come to insist you speak to master Dick. There is someone at the door."
"I'm sorry i yelled. Tell them I'm busy." Bruce hunched over his work, because he was doing his work and most certainly not worrying about Dick.
"Sir, I don't think that they are going to leave. They seem very determined." Alfred called through the still locked door.
Bruce sighed and stood up. "Fine. I'll go talk to them. It's Clark isn't it?"
"No sir, three teenagers." Bruce perked up as he walked by Alfred.
"Alfred, are they his teammates?"
"Unfortunately not sir." Alfred followed Bruce to the front door.
If they aren't Dick's teammates, why would Alfred..
"Are you Bruce Wayne?" A thirteen year old girl and two identical fifteen year old boys stood on the front porch of Wayne Manor.
Bruce narrowed his eyes. "Yes. Who are you?"
"My name is Elizabeth Grayson. I'd like to speak to my brother please." The girl said with a large smile.
"Whoa, wait, what? She said she was a circus freak, not a famous circus freak." One of the twins whispered to the other so quietly Bruce would have missed it if he weren't the Batman. His brother replied with a whispered,"I thought she said her brother was missing." Elizabeth reached back and hit them both on the chest without looking back, smile still plastered on her face.
Can it really be her? Dick and I spent years trying to find some trace of her and she just shows up at my door? Is Dick missing?
Bruce eyed the teens warily. He glanced behind him to see Alfred dusting a vase with an innocent look on his face. Bruce could tell that the girl was either a master liar or she really believed herself to be Dick's dead little sister.
Alfred made me talk to her because now I have to call Dick. Damn he's good. He conned the Batman.
Elizabeth's smile wavered. "Right," Bruce said, silently scolding himself for getting lost in thought, "Come inside, I'm going to call him."
As Bruce was turning around he caught a glimpse of 'Elizabeth' giving the twins a smug, told-you-so look.
"Alfred, would you fix some snacks for them? I have a phone call to make." Bruce hurried off to his study.
Bruce thought about what the second twin had whispered to the first. Is Richard missing? I should have called earlier. Focus Bruce. Just dial the number.
The phone rang once, twice, three, four times and went to voice mail. Maybe he is just out on a mission. I'll call him on his communicator. Yeah, he's just out saving Jump City. He thought as he went down to the Batcave and pulled on his cowl, just in case someone else picked up.
Bruce had long since managed to hack into the Teen Titan's communicators but had no use for it until now.
"Batman to Robin, come in Robin." The face of a green skinned boy popped up on the Batcomputer after a few agonizing minutes.
"Whoa, Batman sir, it's an honor to meet you, sir." Something exploded behind the teen who Batman assumed was Beast Boy.
"Yo Star! I said you were allowed to make lunch, not blow up the tower!" Another teen's voice yelled from off-screen.
"I need to speak with Robin." Bruce may have sounded calm but he had mastered hiding the worry and fear in voice.
"Sorry sir. He's not here. He went off on some solo mission or something. Sir." Beast Boy looked concerned, like Robin had been gone for several hours.
"How long has he been gone?" Bruce was starting to worry but the Batman didn't show it.
"Since this morning; he hasn't checked in or anything." Bruce was now terrified; Dick really was missing. Batman nodded.
"How did you get a communicator? Robin said you haven't spoken to each other in a year."
"I have my ways." With that, he shut off the communication and returned upstairs.
As he walked into the kitchen, Elizabeth looked up at him hopefully, a cookie in her hand.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't get a hold of him." The twins started nudging her.
She cleared her throat. "Umm. We, um, are headed to Jump City, and, ummm, we're kinda out of food and money."
Elizabeth looked up at him uncertainly. "Of course," Bruce replied as he pulled several bills out of his back pocket.
"I wish I could stay and wait for Dick, but I need to be going."
Bruce handed her a cellphone; he knew Dick would be mad if he had no way to contact Elizabeth.
"I'll have Dick call you as soon as I get a hold of him." Elizabeth nodded her thanks and walked out the front door.
"Sir?"
"He's missing, Alfred. And I intend to find him."
Robin was in a particularly good mood. His sister may be a criminal, but he had a party to plan. One year ago today, the five of them had come together and formed the Teen Titans. He was out shopping for presents for everyone, but he hadn't wanted to ruin the surprise, so he told his team he was going on a solo mission and that he would be back soon. All he had to do now was get a present for Starfire.
Robin was about to walk into the mall when his cellphone began to ring. It was the strangest sound, it hadn't gone off in months. He almost answered it, before he saw the caller I.D. Bruce. After all this time, he finally wants to talk. Robin ignored the call and continued on shopping. He had better things to do.
And so begins the tragedy. 1200 words, without trying, oh yeah. I got a lot of reviews thanks for that. To answer guest's question of why it can't be happy and have batman and a sequel: I already have an idea of what the plot of the sequel is going to be. But in order for it to work, this story has to have a sad ending so the sequel can have a happy ending. Don't worry everyone will end up happy.
