Disclaimer: I do not own twilight

A/N: I know, you all hate me; yet you're still reading this, so that's a good thing. For the past few months I was debating in my head where I wanted this story to go, I even considered giving it to someone else to write. But one sleepless night last week, a dash of luck and a pinch of inspiration and BOOM! I had a spell-binding potion of Edward/Bella goodness. (Okay, so not really, I still have to write it down.)

To make a long story short (Clue cast: "Too late") this story should be finished relatively soon, I hope.

And on with the story

Witchy Woman

Asking For Favors

(Deep announcers voice): "Last time on Witchy Woman":

"I want you to meet my family."

"You …. I …. Uh …. What?" Bella stuttered.

Edward chuckled and repeated his question slowly, "I … want … you … to … meet … my … family. Is there a problem with that?"

"N-no, well um yes." Bella blushed.

"What?" Edward looked amused.

"What if they don't like me? What if they think I'm a monster?" Bella mumbled, she knew it didn't matter how softly she spoke, they would all hear, but it was a force of habit.

She looked over at the Cullen's table. They all were looking in different directions, fiddling with their food, but she could tell that they were listening, just by the look in their eyes; and Alice's laughter.

Edward full out laughed this time. Bella started to get a little indignant.

"You're laughing at me." She accused.

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because that was what I was worried your dad would think of us, that we're monsters."

"But you were human once, I technically am a monster."

"You're half-human and you don't kill people."

"Neither do you."

"But I have."

They were both silent for a moment. "I don't care." Bella finally said.

She looked down at the table. If they were going to have the relationship that she wanted, she would have to meet them sooner or later. Bella sighed, "When?"

Edward looked genuinely confused for a moment, "When what?"

Bella could her Alice's laughter again, "When do you want me to come over?"

Edward's face broke out into a huge grin, "Would tonight sound too eager?"

Bella giggled, "It would, but I don't mind. Although …" she trailed off frowning.

"Although what?"

"You'll owe me."

"Why?"

Bella could hear Alice's laughter again, like bells. She growled, "That whole premonition thing isn't funny." All of the Cullen's were chuckling at this point.

Edward raised an eyebrow, "what am I missing?"

Bella sighed again, "Going to your house on a school night means that I need someone to cover for me with Charlie. Someone being Jessica, and I'll have to tell her why, which means I have to answer all the questions she can come up with about us."

"Why can't your father know about us? Ashamed of me?" He said with what any normal person would have seen as humor. Bella wasn't fooled; she could see the hurt in his eyes.

"Not at all." Bella said, placing her hand on Edward's. "He specifically told me to stay away from you guys and I want to ease him into this; there's no sense in letting him know how serious we are in such a short time. He'd have a cow."

Bella looked around, they had talked through all of lunch again and it was time for biology.

Sitting in class, Bella found it hard to concentrate; she could sense Edward so totally. Every time he moved or sighed, she was aware of it. And not just that, she was accustomed to his presence in the magical sense, an aura of sorts. She could make out shifts in his aura every once in awhile. As if he was struggling with his emotions. Surreptitiously, she put her hand on his arm; he visibly relaxed and his aura became calm. She wondered if that was because of her magic or her.

At the end of class he pulled her aside and grabbed her hand. "I'll meet you at your car a block away from your house. I'll ride with you to my house from there."

Bella's eyebrows furrowed, "You're going to run there?"

Edward's eyes twinkled with laughter, "Vampire, remember." He brought her hand up to his face and brushed a light kiss across her knuckles. Bella's knees gave way and Edward caught her before she even started to fall.

"You sure know how to knock a girl off her feet." Bella joked shakily.

Edward smirked, "You're an easy target. A soft wind could knock you off your feet."

Bella narrowed her eyes and was about to say something before she remembered she had to talk to Jessica, it was going to take all period she could tell. "I've gotta go." She said breaking free of his hold and walking away. Her chest seemed to constrict as she walked away and she could still sense him standing there his aura back to the restless shifting of before.

Bella caught up with Jessica in the locker room. "I need a favor."

Jessica looked intrigued, "what is it?"

Bella glanced around, everyone was busy changing, "I'm going to meet Edward after school and I don't want my dad to know. I'm going to tell him that I was hanging out with you, if he doesn't believe me and calls you, will you just go along with it."

"Ooh! I love this, your sneaking around with Edward, are you guys a thing?" Jessica was practically jumping out of her skin.

Bella blushed, "yeah, we kind of are."

"Awesome!! Wait why don't you want your dad to know?" Jessica questioned.

Bella thought quickly, "well, he's the police chief, he's very overprotective. I don't want to scare Edward away. My father would do a background check on him in a second if he found out."

Jessica nodded, "Gotcha, I'm so in." The rest of the period consisted of Bella desperately staying away from the basketball, while Jessica questioned her relentlessly.

Bella was anxious the whole way home, this night was important. With any luck she would be meeting her future in-laws and she would be having a huge tell-all. When Bella got home she saw that Charlie was home early.

Letting herself in she was nearly bombarded by her father. "Why was there a vampire in your bedroom?"

Bella was shocked to say the least, "I have no idea."

Her father could see she was telling the truth and relented. "I'm sorry I didn't mean …" He trailed off.

Bella looked at the cabinet doors that were flung open and the kitchen was a mess, but she couldn't sense that a vampire had been in there. "Did you do this?" She questioned as she waved her hands and sent everything flying back to place.

Her father blushed, "I was a little angry."

"A little angry" she questioned in disbelief.

"Okay so I was a lot angry. The point is there was a vampire in your room, I can sense it."

Bella walked up the stairs to her room with her father following behind her. Even from the stairs she could tell that it was Edward, her room was filled with his essence. How had she not noticed it before? She turned to her father.

"I'm going to put some crystals around the house for protection." He went off muttering about Buffy and vampires needing invitations.

Bella looked around her room. People leave traces of themselves wherever they go, and Edwards was mostly concentrated on the window and her rocking chair. What had he been doing in there?

Her hand brushed against the arm of the rocking chair. Suddenly the world was spinning, and with a gasp, she went rigid, lost in a vision. She was Edward, she was sitting in the rocking chair and she was watching herself sleep. She heard her other self whisper Edwards name, then suddenly she was back standing in front of the rocking chair alone.

She walked back down the stairs shakily. "Are premonitions next after levitation?"

Her father looked up at her from his crouched position. He stood up, crystal in hand, "Already?"

She sat down, "Will it always make me that dizzy?"

"You'll get used to it," he said absent-mindedly, "You're progressing so fast, it's unheard of."

"For a Halfling," she amended.

"It's unheard of even for a full witch." He stared off into the distance thinking.

Bella's head was on overdrive, she just wanted to see Edward, so she could talk to him about this. Bella cleared her throat. "Um, dad, I promised Jessica Stanley that I would hang out with her after school."

Charlie's head shot up, "I don't think that's a good idea."

"It'll just be the two of us, we'll be fine." Bella said, hoping he would believe her.

"What are you guys going to do?"

Oh Crap, Bella thought, they hadn't discussed that. "Umm, she wasn't very specific and I didn't ask; I just wanted some girl time."

"Well I'm going to call to make sure you guys don't go anywhere that isn't safe." Charlie said picking up the phone. He dialed the Stanley's phone number. "Hello Jessica, this is Chief Swan. Bella said you guys were thinking about hanging out together, and I was wondering what you would be doing and how long she would be out for."

Bella could just make out Jessica's voice through the receiver.

"Well, I was thinking we might just stay in and do our nails, talk, have some pizza. As for how long I honestly don't know, but Bella could call you when she's on her way home. Is that alright with you, sir?"

She's good, thought Bella.

"Yes that's fine, just wanted to know where she'd be and when to expect her back. Thank you, buh-bye." And with that he hung up. Charlie turned to Bella, "Well so long as you stay at Jessica's house I don't see why not."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Bella hugged him.

"Have fun and be safe!" He called after her as she rushed out the door.
