Chapter 14: Tours, Moonlight Meetings and Unveiling
Menagerie week 7 of Terra Forming Project
"Over there is the library. There's not any books yet but it was be filled soon." Jaune was pointing out the many new things that were added to the once cramped town. Over the weeks it more than tripled in size.
Blanc smiled as she took in the many new buildings. "So, the buildings look done. What's left to finish?" Jaune consults his scroll. "looks like furnishing and finishing touches. There are small issues to work out. But by next week the project will be complete." Jaune says before he guides them onward.
They marvel over the houses that were all one of a kind yet looked like they fit together. Some were brick, some were wood, and some were metal. It was the oddest collection of houses that seemed to make perfect sense.
30 minutes later
"now this is the the crowning jewel of the project." Jaune was standing in front of a massive building. It looked like it was craved from the rock it sat on. It was styled after castles of old with modern styles mixed in. Fern looks at it critically then gasps "Is that a huntsman academy?" His sisters get him in a group hug asking question. "Really?" "When will it open?" "Who's the Headmaster?" and many more.
Jaune just laughs sheepishly "It won't be up and running for a while. It's built but not ready for students. The staff need to be hired and we haven't decided on who will run it." They groan in disappointment.
Seeing this Jaune had a great Idea. "Hey! Want to meet a local legend?" Blanc's eyes gleamed knowingly as Clair asks timidly "Are you sure they won't mind?" "She won't mind at all." Mari grabs his arm saying "Lead the way already!"
15 minutes later
Mountain lake
"You didn't say it was a hike." Felix said annoyed. "Oh hush. It's not too hard to for you is it?" Fern teases as the sisters rush ahead. When they crested the hill, they gasped. The lake sparkled in the noon sunlight. It sat in the valley of the mountain peck untouched by by man or grimm.
There was laws about keeping it the same. People could visit and fish but never ruin the peaceful place. Fleur looks around and asks quizzically "So where's the legend?" Jaune counts down "three, two, one." Splash! The Lady of the Lake leaps out of the water making a beautiful ark then lands back into water.
"That was the Legendary Untouchable Lady of the Lake." Jaune says as his family takes it in. the twins speak in there usual manner "The legend-" "-is a fish? We didn't-" "-see that-" "-coming."
Mari had sparkling eyes as the Lady watches them amused. They were almost as amusing as that one man who almost caught her. She had to try for once. She shot water at Jaune who dodged letting Felix get soaked.
"Nice try Lady!" Jaune says laughing as Felix looks annoyed. "You knew that would happen, didn't you?" Jaune smirks "She may be a fish but she's crafty. I learned to be ready for anything around her." He dodges water that looked like a clone of the Lady.
This time all his sisters get splashed as it bursts when it hits the ground. "Like that. The Lady can shape water like a one does clay. It's one of the reasons that she's untouchable." Fern looks at him playfully annoyed. "The fish has a semblance? Has anyone gotten close to catching her?"
Jaune smiles wistfully "Yes there is one man who came the closest. A friend my team met. His name is Sage." He looks at them as his sister glare at the Lady, who cheeky waves before disappearing under the water. "Let's head back so you can dry off."
As they left the Lady was remembering Sage. He may have been the closet to catch her but he was the first to befriend her. He told wonderful stories.
With Sage
Unknown location week 8 of Project, 12 hours until unveiling ceremony
Sage grumbled to himself as he sat in a chair bound in rope. It was annoying that he was captured. He hoped that it wasn't any of the enemies. He looked around but it was too dark to see anything.
He heard heels. The lights turned on blinding him. "ow! What was that for? !" He heard. When he could see again he started laughing. Why you may ask? Because Neo was bashing Roman over the head with her umbrella.
After a few more whacks she cuts Sage free and starts to flip a sign "Sorry bout that. 'flip' Roman turned the 'flip' lights on too 'flip' fast. 'flip' No hard feelings?" Sage stretch as he stands up. Dusting himself off "No problem. Why the kidnapping?" She flips her sign some more with a smile on her face
"because you 'flip' are my number one 'flip' customer." Sage nods at this "So you wanted to meet me but with your occupation it'd be hard to meet in the public." Roman groans as he gets up "Got it in one. Gotta to thank you. You netted us with enough money to not have to worry about cash for a while."
He sits on a crate dusting off his hat as Neo hands Sage a wrapped box. It was long and was on the heavy side. The paper was ice cream themed. Sage unwrapped it and saw it had a umbrella in it.
"What do you think? 'flip' It's lightning proof and 'flip' unbreakable. 'flip' it has a hidden 'flip' blade too." Neo 'explained' cheerfully. "Thank you" Sage says as he opened it. The umbrella had trees and vines with what he knew were deadly flowers on it.
"It's not too shabby. I don't mind the flowers at all." sage says before he hugs Neo briefly, shocking her and Roman. "Kid you got guts. The last person that tried that got stabbed."
Sage grinned "I best be going. Can you show me out." He asked Neo. She bows and offers him her arm. Sage bows in return taking her arm as she guides him out.
With Pyrrha
Menagerie Final day of the Project, Unveiling Ceremony
Pyrrha walked up to the podium in front of a covered object that towered over her. Just yesterday the leaders had come here after their week long meeting had ended. She had been asked to cut the ribbon. This was a big thing and she had dreaded it.
She took a deep breath and begin as they watched her addressed the crowd. "This has been a long two mouths. I'm glad that I invented in the undertaking wholeheartedly. With your help we've changed history and made this land livable without losing it's beauty." She cuts the ribbon and crowd cheers.
"Before we finish up there is one thing left to do." The crowd quiets down. "I'd like to thank the men who made ripples by reading a story. Their names are Sage and Wolf. their kindness have touched many hearts."
She pulls away the sheet unveiling fountain with a statue of Jaune with sword pointing to the sky atop Epona, who's hooves pawed the air, as a centerpiece. There was statues that looked like Wolf and Sage holding jars that poured out water on the east and west sides of the center.
The crowd appended and cheered. Pyrrha sighed in relief as she was clapped on the back. They could relax once they make one last trip. Papa Dragon needed to give his blessing. One way or another.
On the island of Patch, same time
Taiyang felt a chill down his spine. Something bad was coming his way. He shut off the TV as the ceremony finished. His girls were planning on visited soon. He needed to tidy up the place a little.
Author's note: Looks like trouble is coming for Taiyang. Next chapter will be amusing. See you then! Ultima-Owner signing out!
