Alien Rampage
"What do you mean it needs all the chaos emeralds in order to work?!" Racko yelled angrily as he glared angrily at Egrend.
"That is simply just it; the machine cannot do as we need it to do without those mythical gems." Egrend stated as he viewed the blueprints in his clawed hands, glancing up to practically see smoke coming out of his pig-like snout.
"And you thought it wouldn't be a good idea to tell me about this predicament?" Egrend scowled slightly as he wiped his face as he is brother gave a feral snarl, letting a bit of saliva fly out accidently.
"To be honest, it's more your fault." a third voice interjected. An orange eye twitched in irritation as he turned to face the blue hedgehog, leaning down to all fours as the spines traveling down his back and tail stood up straight, orange eyes narrowing angrily.
"What did you say, brat?" Sonic snorted, not fazed by Racko's feral behavior.
"Takes one to know one." Egrend added, earning a glare from his younger brother.
"I'm sick and tired of your-"
"SILENCE!" The loud shout startled all three beings, forcing Racko to stand up once more and flattened the spines once more as the Scazer walked toward them, his green tail dragging along the metal floor.
"Racko, you should be more considerate of what the hedgehog has to say, seeing as you have failed to retrieve the chaos emerald before it was blown up." His forked tongue flicked out a few times as he looked at the red alien.
"But it should still be in there, my lord." Racko said as he bowed to the dragon, "The Chaos Emeralds are mythical gems that cannot be destroyed. We should be able to find them in the building's rubble."
"It's not." Egrend replied, "I had a search team scavenge the rubble and there were no traces of the Chaos emerald that was contained there. Sources indicate that the Chaotix and the humans had taken it along with Addanc's group."
"You lost one of my finest generals." Racko flinched at the slapping sound of Scazer's tail smacking the metal floor of the ship, an annoyed snarl escaping the green dragon's snout, "For that you are sentenced to ten rounds in the Pit."
"But sir, I didn't expect them to be such a pain." Scazer simply snorted at the comment as he turned toward his throne, nearly striking the red Sharpscale with the horns that adorned his long tail, "I learned that they have their own Ultimate Life form."
The dragon instantly froze in place.
"What?!" he turned toward the small group, "That's impossible, there is only one Ultimate Lifeform and that is Sonic."
"On the contrary Scazer, there is yet another being who shares the same title as me." the blue hedgehog stated, gaining the attention of the large dragon, "He goes by the name of Shadow, Shadow the hedgehog."
"Interesting." Scazer paced back and forth, a scaly hand stroking his chin in thought, "And this hedgehog is considered a problem?"
"By himself, he can be a nuisance; however with friends, he's a threat."
"Alright, Egrend, you and Sonic lead an invasion to this city called Casinopolis. Sensors indicate that the casino there contains a chaos emerald. Get it before a fool wins it or this Shadow and his posse gets there first. Take Grendor with you." He looked over to the red Sharpscale with a slight glare, "What are you still doing here, get to the Pit or I'm adding another fifth rounds." Yellow eyes widened in worry as he rushed out the room.
"Sorry sir, I'll get right to it."
"You're sure Scazer; you know Grendor hates bright flashing lights." Sonic stated.
"The main reason to take him with you, I believe he would be pleased to destroy all those buildings and he can finally get out and smell the fresh air, wouldn't you agree Sonic." the blue hedgehog frowned, his blue ears folding against his scalp as he glared at the dragon who was giving a triumphant smile.
"Fine," he turned around and began walking toward the opened doors, "come on Egrend, I hope you're okay with riding on Grendor's back again." The orange Sharpscale sighed as he rubbed his forehead in worry. He nearly had a heart attack flying on the large black creature while heading to Metropolis; Grendor was too excited to meet the blue hedgehog once more that he did somersaults and dive-bombs, forgetting that he had a very important rider on board. The hedgehog looked back and smirked at the alien's facial expression.
"Oh come on, it's not that bad when you get used to it." Egrend still shivered slightly at the memory.
"Promise me he won't do those crazy tricks again."
"Heh, good luck with that."
"This day was a disaster." one of the soldiers stated as the group overlooked a refugee camp for the inhabitants of Metropolis that were able to survive and escape the invasion.
"Oh come on, it wasn't all bad." Charmy stated as he buzzed around the human.
"Many innocent lives were lost, the Global Weather Lab is destroyed, and those aliens got a hold of the schematics for the Climatic Reactor, this is possibly the worse day in history." he angrily stated in response, not understanding why the bee was still able to fly around like the end of the world wasn't upon them.
"True, but we have this." Vector pulled out the green chaos emerald that was stored away in the now-demolished lab, "you did say that machine thing needed all the chaos emeralds in order to work, right?"
"Yeah, so now we have something that is crucial to their plans. We can delay them long enough for Knuckles and the Chaotix to infiltrate Christmas Island and get the information regarding Sonic and the reasons why Lewis experimented with his DNA." Rouge stated with a smirk. "Fox boy here said that he has a device that would allow them to return without the need of the X Tornado." She winked at the young kit with a sly smile, causing him to blush slightly.
"Yes, well," he held up four small chips no thicker not wider than his thumb, "these chips act as both communication and a way to get off the island. They are programmed to teleport you back to the workshop and only there. I was building this a while back so that any time the plane crash I wouldn't have to walk all the way back. It was easy to make duplicates." He stated as he handed the echidna and the three detectives the chips.
"Uh, so this thing won't have us return with any missing limbs, right?" the crocodile asked, vermillion eyes showing a hint of worry. Tails nodded.
"Yep, I tested them to make sure none had any faults. I would advise not to try to have two or more people on one chip."
"What happens then?" Espio asked. The fox scratched the back of his head as he remembered the result of that test.
"I only test it twice before tune up, but it seems that the two persons or things that use one chip end up like some mashed up version of the two."
"Like Reptin and most of those other experiments."
"Pretty much."
"Well in that case," the purple chameleon grabbed the two chips from the croc and bee, earning a 'hey' from each, "It would be better if I hold onto them until time is right."
"Hey, you calling me irresponsible; I can keep up with a simple chip." Espio narrowed his eyes at his boss in an annoyed manner.
"Vector, you don't even know where this month's water and electric bills are." Vector stroked his chin in thought as he tried to remember the last place he put them in.
"You have a point there Espio; alright, you hold onto them 'til we need to leave."
"Alright, are you all ready to go?"
"Sadly yes," Knuckles stated, "I hoped to never go back to that place again." He glared at the red streaked hedgehog.
"Well then, let's go to Christmas Island."
"Stinking Sharpscales, this planet is mine for the taking and only I shall rule it," the mad scientist stated as he looked at the screens that displayed several different areas across Mobius, "I, Dr. Eggman, should be causing devastation across the planet, forcing the inhabitants to be my slaves, and have that pesky hedgehog as my right hand man, not those blasted aliens."
"Dr. Eggman-"
"What is it Decoe?" the obese human stated as he turned in his chair to face the golden bot. Decoe flinched at the outburst, scared of the possible thought of being dismantled due to his creator's fit of rage.
"Would it be reasonable to send some of your robots to Christmas Island to retrieve the data that Sonic wanted?" Eggman stroked his mustache in thought.
"Genius!" he stated as he slapped one of the metal arm rests as he began going through his base's information, "I'm so glad I'm came up with it."
"Uh, but sir-" Bocoe replied before being interrupted.
"Quiet Bocoe, I have to figure out the best robot to send out to that dreaded place, and while we wait for it to get the data I'll send out some squadrons to try to round up those chaos emeralds once more. At least try to not allow those aliens or Shadow and friends from getting them. Soon, this planet will bow to the name of Dr. Eggman, evil genius extraordinary. Hohohohohoho!"
The two robots glanced at each other as they watched the human laugh at his diabolical plan before shrugging in slight confusion.
"Sometimes I wonder if he's a smart as he thinks he is." Decoe whispered quietly as he kept one eye to the man who was leaning over his computer in search of the perfect robot that could survive the creatures of Christmas Island.
"Hey, what's going on here?" one of the few people that crowded the sidewalks of the large and bright city murmured to a friend as the group watched the several G.U.N. soldiers that walked by, their weapons readied to fire at any danger."
"Like G.U.N.'s going to be able to do anything, we saw how they handled Metropolis." another replied.
"Yeah, I heard that over three-fourths the population was either captured or killed in that raid."
"And the hospital downtown, I heard that there was a lab underneath it, one of G.U.N's top secret research facilities and both it and the hospital got blown sky high."
"Man, news travel quickly when there's an alien invasion, huh." one of the G.U.N. soldiers stated as he scanned the tense crowd. Those few who weren't staring at their approach were quickly leaving the area in a surprising hurry. His comrade beside him simply nodded in response.
"Some overheard that Sonic was the one who blown it up."
"Sonic, oh I thought it was some sick joke those aliens pulled, but he's actually one their side. What in Chaos are we-what in Chaos is that thing?" one of the civilians stated as several others screamed, catching sight of a large black Sharpscale drop down from the night sky that hid it so well. Most were already running for their dear lives, fearful of suffering the same fates as the others that lived in the other two unfortunate cities.
The ground shook as Grendor landed, a large crater formed where he stood, and he reared his head back and gave a frightful roar. Even though a large cloth covered his large pistachio-colored eyes, he still proved to be something to be frightened of.
"So the Commander sends out yet another squadron of his pathetic lackeys, how amusing." Sonic stated as he jumped down to one of Grendor's outstretching hand, looking down at the surprised human's with a sly smirk. He grinned as he saw some of the soldiers tremble, either in fear of him or his blindfolded friend.
"Sonic, are you crazy?" Egrend stated as he stumbled up Grendor's back to a position where he could be seen, a sickly expression on his face and a bit of drool dribbled down from a corner of his mouth. His chest heaved in a panicky motion as he glared at the blue hedgehog, "First, you blindfold Grendor, then you allow him to do all those somersaults and other tricks, nearly sending me plummeting to my doom-I don't have wings you know-and now you dare to dive-bomb the city and nearly make me hurl. Once more I say, are you crazy?" Emerald eyes rolled in response, earning a growl from the orange alien.
"Oh calm down Egrend, it's not my fault you have such a weak stomach." Sonic chuckled.
"Fire at the black alien." one of the G.U.N. soldiers stated as the group aimed their guns at Grendor and fired. Grendor roared in slight pain, a few bullets penetrating the hard hide that covered him, which irritated the blue hedgehog who stood in his hand. His hand glowed blue for a moment before he smirked at a better idea. He leapt you to the back of Grendor's head and grabbed at the knot that kept the cloth over the alien's eyes.
"Hey Grendor, it's time for that little surprise of yours." Sonic yanked at the knot, forcing it undone, and quickly grabbed Egrend as it fell to the alien's feet. What happened next was a complete disaster to the humans below.
Grendor's pupils larger than those of an average reptile, narrowed 'til they practically vanished as the bright light struck. He gave loud screech, cracking several of the nearby glass that covered many of the bright, neon buildings. He stomped around in slight irritation, nearly squishing the soldiers below and creating more dents in the streets. His large tail flickered back and forth violently, striking nearby buildings with enough force to create large holes and their sides and even forcing a few to crumble in on itself from the force of impact. Four clawed hands slashed at the neon signs of the nearby buildings, sparks flying as wires were ribbed and sliced at.
"Grendor plus bright lights equal's a giant alien rampaging though the cities." Sonic stated as he watched the large alien terrorized the city from a safe distant, having grabbed the orange Sharpscale before Grendor went into a frenzy. He glanced at Egrend before turning around opposite to the other's trail of destruction with a smirk.
"Come on Egrend, we have a Chaos Emerald to find."
