Attack of the pack

Chapter 14

All things don't go according to plan.

One hour after the events of the previous and the gang were within site of the meeting point alongside the various members of the pack, including Tara. Who could not help but appear smug at the sign of the angry faces from the group who were showing clear signs of hatred. Sadly she was glad that they were angry because deception was her favourite pass time. As for the rest of the pack they seemed to be struggling to hold back on attacking the easy prey they could have. But they wanted to saviour the moment for when it was time to have their revenge in the most satisfying way possible for them. Though this didn't mean they couldn't eye up their prey like Cruncher eyeing up Ducking and Spitter eyeing up Tricia, who both huddled up from terror and fear. Littlefoot's mind was in complete chaos at the event, without Ace and the others they wouldn't stand a chance against the sharpteeth. Out of the group some of them were big enough to have some chance against the sharpteeth however the others wouldn't last a second against them. Also some of the pack may be stupid or idiotic but even the weaker ones could hold out for a while against them. Cruncher took down seven of them and he didn't even break a sweat doing so. The more they walked the more he wished that Ace and the others were here to help them.

However a few miles behind the group ace, slasher and eve were closing in on the group. They weren't going to listen to Viper's request and launch a surprise attack when the pack's defences were down. Sadly as they hurried along the morale of the group was low by the sudden betrayal from tara, the whole group was affected, especially Eve.

Eve: I can't believe Tara was working for the pack the entire time, I thought she was my best friend.

Ace: Obliviously she planned to do so, so she could fit in more with the group. As strange as it seems I never did quite trust.

Slasher: Oh what makes you say that?

Ace: Well we found her on her own in a supposed ambush by the pack at the side of a mountain. We saved her and she told us they killed her family because of revenge.

Eve: Yeah?

Ace: Well Ruby had not joined the gang until a cold time or two ago, and Tara joined our group four cold times ago. Which means the Pack would not have been looking for revenge on ruby since they didn't even know ruby. She must have been working for viper to keep track of us in case of emergencies.

Eve: I…I don't believe it … Tara lied to us about everything…

Slasher: I promise you I'll make her pay for this.

Eve: no, she was my best friend, so I'll be the one to make her pay dearly.

Ace: Alright now that's settled, lets pick up the pace so we don't lose track of the group.

Both: Right.

Meanwhile back at the base of the smoking mountain Jade and Crystal were trying to get out of the vines they were tied up in while Elsa shielded their attempts from the watchful eyes of the sharpteeth. But it was no use the vines were simply too thick and Viper was getting suspicious so he decided to investigate. He proceeded towards them from behind, silently since they did not know he was watching. Unfortunately at that point Jade managed to get free only to feel something pick up, to his horror it was viper who gave the young hatchling a terrifying grin. Viper moved his other hand up with his index moving from side to side.

Viper: "now, now young one it would be foolish to do something like that you never know what might get you"

Jade: "Only the same bully who KILLED MY DADDY"

Viper: "Well he tasted good anyway, the others are eating him up now"

Jade nervously turned his head around to the pile to massacred bones of a dead fastrunner and opened his eyes in shock at the realisation that it was his father they had eaten. All three of them tried to restrain tears forming in what they hoped was just a bad sleep story.

Jade: NO, NO this can't be happening!

Viper: Wake up junior this is the real world and life itself is fool of harsh lessons you have to experience and deal with.

Stryker: I couldn't have put it better myself viper.

Coming in through one of the canyon entrances was lord stryker, followed by Mme Terra and Mr Crusher, as well Rampage and Savage. Elsa saw a distraction at this point as crystal had also managed to break free, she leaned in closer and told Crystal to be ready to run when she said so. Crystal nodded in an understood manner. Elsa managed to position herself to kick viper so that jade would be freed, she hoped. When she saw that viper wasn't holding jade down too much she launched and slammed viper from behind, catching him off guard. As viper fell on the floor jade was realised and began running with crystal away from the sharpteeth but stopped when they heard the screaming noise of elsa being rammed by Rampage and Savage into the jagged rocks behind them.

Elsa: GGGOOOOOOOOOOO!

Jade and Crystal couldn't stop they had to run as fast as they could with the deadly sharpteeth.

Stryker: Quick they're getting away.

Viper: Strag, Backslash go after them now we need them here.

Strag: Right

Backslash: Gotcha.

As the four figures speeded off into the distance, elsa softly mumbled her final words.

Elsa: Good bye my children…

So Elsa is dead and Ruby's siblings have got free but will they escape from Strag and Backslash. Find out next time.

Character Info: Backslash: A cocky and arrogant flyer who believes to be better than any other flyer in both speed and agility which comes handy when running away cause when the odds are not in his favour he runs like the wind.
