Hey guys! I'm back once again. Now you may have been expecting a chapter based on "Good Bye My Sweet" but it sort of backfired on me. But I will

not give up on it. I may write it as a one shot in the future. But for now I hope you have a night cap and a bazooka because we're heading back into

the nightmare realm!

Disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN SLY OR NEYLA. Now I'm sad.

Chapter 14: The Nightmares Retribution

"Where am I?" Neyla asked herself as she found herself in a dark but dimly lit cavern. The smell of smoke was very faint, but she knew where she was.

"Not this place again!" Neyla thought to herself as she searched for any trace of the shadow that called the realm home. He didn't seem to be anywhere but she kept

her guard up all the same.

"Of all the places why did I have to end up here?" Neyla asked herself while silently cursing whatever sick force brought her back to this nightmare. While she

explored the cavern little did she know the shadow was

following her unnoticed. After several minutes of exploring Neyla got the feeling she was being followed.

"Who's there?" she asked aloud as she turned around to see nothing.

"Looking for me?" said the very last voice she wanted to hear. With wide eyes she turned and immediately the shadow pinned her to a nearby wall his wings further

boxing her in.

"Miss me Neyla?" asked the shadow.

"Why am I back here you freak?" Neyla demanded.

"Right to the point eh? Very well. I brought you here to warn you." said the shadow menacingly.

"Warn me? About what?" Neyla asked unable to hold back the fear in her body.

"I know about the relationship you started with Sly Cooper. And where I'm concerned that can be a very bad thing." the shadow said but Neyla was

barely listening. Hearing that this dark shadow demon

knew about her and Sly freaked her out.

"How could you know anything about Sly?" Neyla asked.

"When it comes to that pesky rodent I know plenty. After all I've been hunting his family for centuries as you're about to learn." the shadow said as he

lifted a talon and gently placed it on Neylas head. Then Neyla began having visions that took her to Egypt, Japan, England, and several other places. All had one thing

in common: A raccoon wielding a "C" shaped cane. She also noticed that in each of the visions the raccoons were locked in combat with a shadowy figure that looked

like an owl.

"These are Sly's ancestors." Neyla thought out loud.

"Precisely. While some lived long enough to write their stories in their accursed book, most met a gruesome at my claws." the shadow said. Then the

visions took her to a house in Paris. There she saw a pair of raccoons: one female and a male that bore a striking resemblance to Sly. They were fighting off a gang of

five who had attacked them: A frog in a top hat, a bulldog with giant arms armed with equally large machine guns, an alligator, a panda, and at their helm was the

shadow. It wasn't long before the pair were struck down. Then as they ransacked the house a young raccoon bolted out of the closet to try and stop them. Neyla

could only watch in horror as he was swatted aside by the panda. Then after a quick glance at the youth she recognized the boy as Sly. Finally she connected the dots

on what she was seeing.

"You murdered his parents." Neyla said in pure shock.

"It was one of my most enjoyable kills. My only mistake was not killing that brat when I had the chance." the shadow said.

"You're a monster." Neyla said with tears in her eyes.

"I'm warning you right now. Get away from Cooper or suffer." said the shadow.

"Do your worst! I'll never submit to the likes of you!" Neyla said with as much defiance as she could muster. The shadow only stared.

"Very well. Just remember… you had your chance." the shadow said. Then suddenly his eyes changed and Neyla was immediately entranced. Before long the

shadows torture began. Back in the real world Sly was

reading the Thievious Raccoonus when he heard it.

"No! Please! Stop!" Shouted the voice of Neyla. Hearing this Sly bolted out of his room, to Neylas room. Once inside he saw the whole, terrifying picture. Neyla was

struggling in her sleep as if some invisible force had

her, she was screaming like a mad woman, but worst of all cuts were starting to form on her body. Sly had to wake her up before it got worse.

"Wake up Neyla!" Sly said. He didn't know what was going on in Neylas mind at the moment but he wasn't going to let it destroy her.

Back in the dream realm.

"That raccoon shows up at the worst possible time!" the shadow thought to himself as he paused from torturing Neyla.

"We'll finish this another time." said the shadow as he released Neyla from his grip. Then in the next instant everything went black. Once she regained her vision

the first thing she saw was Slys worried expression.

In that instant she embraced the raccoon tight and began to cry.

"What's going… ! What happened to Neyla?!" Bentley asked as he and Murray entered the room.

"I don't know. She was having some sort of nightmare." Sly said. Then Bentley noticed the cuts that had begun to heal.

"How can a dream do that?!" Bentley said. Then suddenly Neyla began muttering things.

"The shadow… he did this." Neyla muttered through tears.

"Guys can I speak to Neyla alone please?" Sly asked. Bentley and Murray nodded then gave the pair some space as they headed back to their rooms.

"Neyla what happened tonight?" Sly asked once Neyla calmed down enough.

"I'm not sure if you'll believe me." Neyla said.

"Try me." Sly said. Neyla saw he was being serious so she continued.

"This is only the second time this has happened." Neyla said.

"Go on." Sly said.

"I've had these nightmares involving a dark cavern and a shadowy owl. And well… you've seen his handy work." Neyla said.

"Neyla can you describe anything about the owl?" Sly asked.

"He had yellow eyes that turned red when he spoke, and had a cold robotic voice." Neyla said shivering at the very thought of the monster. Then Sly thought on the

situation for a bit.

"Sly do you think you could sleep with me tonight… just in case the nightmares come back?" Neyla asked a crimson blush forming on her cheeks. Sly was taken off

guard by this question. He thought on it then gave her

a nod.

"I'll be happy to oblige." Sly said giving Neyla a reassuring peck on her lips. Neyla cracked a smile and laid back down with Sly following suit.

"Good night Neyla." Sly said as he pulled the covers over them.

"Good night Sly." Neyla said. Then the pair fell asleep. Neyla was still somewhat bothered about what the shadow said about Slys family but she decided to ask Sly about it another time.

As usual I feel this is one of the chapters that I didn't do so well on. But I hope I didn't disappoint you guys. Please R&R and if you have any ideas

about a title change or even a name for Neylas evil twin feel free to PM me or leave it in the review. So far we have one candidate courtesy of Shane

Kor. Till then see you guys next time!
