TALES OF THE VIOLII

Enter Spaniard, Marguerite, Psychopath

AN: Sorry sorry sorry so so so sorry about the late updates, I have been absolutely swamped with homework since the beginning of the year and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon, so I seriously doubt I'll be doing many updates until semester break in which I will attempt to get out many updates, I've been writing chapters in my notebook at school during free periods, but It got stolen, sadly. Finals this week and then nothing but smooth sailing for two more weeks and then I can go fail AP english!

Shizuru looks up at the sky as the snow begins to fall. "Natsuki! We have to hurry." She calls back to her lover, three months had passed since the Hound had left them for dead in the woods, and they had begun their long journey back to Rome. Her surly barbarian compainion was riding rather slowly today for one reason or another, and it was beginning to bother Shizuru.

Natsuki kicks her heals into the side of the stolen horse she was riding to catch up with Shizuru. "Just where are we going?" She asks with a raised eyebrow the scar Shizuru had given her long ago clearly visible next to the more fresh scar her mother had given her. "The nearest city is Cremona, a Roman city, and unless you have some wonderful plan to fool them into thinking we are but travellers there is no way in hell that we will be able to do such a thing. The would execute us both on the spot." Natsuki reasons an irritated tone in her voice.

Shizuru sighs. "I am quite aware of this. But if we don't find shelter soon we will both freeze to death." She says nonchalantly trying to think.

All of a sudden Shizuru's horse begins to freak out reeling back on its hind legs and neighing feverishly. "What the hell is wrong with you." She shouts as she tries to regain control of the horse. Finally the beast calms down but it doesn't last long, as soon as it plants its legs in the ground an arrow sticks into the equines head throwing Shizuru off of the horse and onto her back. She quickly raises to her feet and darts around.

Natsuki jumps off her horse and does the same slowly pacing in the now around a foot of snow. "Bandits I bet." She draws her bow and locks an arrow into the string pulling it back only slightly. She kneels down and listens carefully for even the slightest sound. The sound of footsteps in the snow alerts her and she fires the arrow driving it through the skull of a bandit that had tried to sneak up on her. She grabs her spear off of the horse and walks foreward. "Come on you cowards! Show yourselves!" She shouts out.

About a dozen men all dressed in wolf pelts with painted faces appear from behind their hiding places. One of them raises his sword and charges with the rest following in suit.

Natsuki rolls her eyes and throws her spear at full speed impaling the mans skull. "Come on you bleeding pigs, show your courage." She says drawing her straight sword and pointing it at a man who was dressed far more ornately than the others. "You there, decorated cow! State your name."

The man pulls down his hood, and turns out to be no man but a green-blue haired woman who looked no older than 16. She wore red face paint in the form of three stripes down the front of her face. She laughs. "I am Tomoe, Tomoe of Marguerite." She says staring at Shizuru. "I have come for the Roman general Shizuru Fujino of the Violii, there's been a hefty price put on your head, dead or alive, but I want her to become...my wife!" She says confidantly to which Shizuru scoffs and Natsuki gufaws.

"If you want to take her you're going to have to go through me." She says stabbing the tip of her spear into the frozen soil. Shizuru sighs not interested in being fought over, strangely.

"I cannot believe that you would just come up and say that to anyone just what kind of dolt are you." She says taking a step in front of Natsuki who looked at her in protest.

"Shizuru..." She says quietly in a hushed tone. "I don't like the way she looks. She looks...mad." She says looking through squinted eyes at the young woman who was still walking closer.

Tomoe stops and strikes a pose one hand on her hip the other out in front of her pointing at Natsuki. "You wish to duel for her love!" She shouts obnoxiously loud, to which Natsuki found incredibly amusing.

"She's mine girly. If you think you can stop me I hope you're a lot more skilled than those bufoons you brought with you." She says kicking the spear out of the ground and pointing it at her. Tomoe stops in her tracks. "So you have decided to fight. Very well." She says drawing a frightening blade, at least 4 feet in length the swords handle was large enough to compensate two hands but the blade itself was fit for one hand gleaming in the winter sun the blade's back curved blade looked like a creation of a far off distant people. And obviously looked hard to control.

Tomoe spins the blade around and takes up an offensive position digging her feet into the snow and holding the blade above her head with one hand the other out in front of her like it would be useful in blocking anything. "Well Kruger. Make your move." She says through clentced teeth.

Shizuru sits back waiting for Natsuki to take care of this pestering idiot that had appeared in front of them. Become her wife, she scoffs. "I wouldn't serve as a maid to you much less marry you." She says quietly enough that neither party quite understood what she had said properly.

Natsuki charges at her spear raised above her head and thrusts it foreward seeming to hit tomoe. Natuski laughs. "That was pathetic." She smirks, however the joy fades from her face when she hears a cracking sound. Suddenly tomoe jerks her body around and snaps the tip of the spear off having it neatly placed under her elbow. "Gotta try harder than that Natsuki." She thrusts the blade at Natsuki who leans back so that the blade goes directly abover her head and kicks out with her left leg, Tomoe however easily blocked the strike and retaliates with a glancing blow to Natsuki's septim knocking the older girl out cold. "Ha!" She exclaims. "I Guess I win."
