Hey guys! It is now time for another chapter! This chapter will end the mission hopefully and I hope that I can make it good in some way or form! My tablet kind of broke the other day so I've been busy trying to buy a new computer so updates may come faster than usual, but then again they may not. Anyway, please give the story a review or comment. I the support I've been getting so far but I want more! I'm greedy as hell but its okay cause its not about money! Ch. 14

I wiped a hair that had fallen over my face and sighed in annoyance. The escort mission wasn't going as planned at all. At first, I though it was going okay, but then we got attacked by an army of stupid robotic monkeys! Yeah...robotic monkeys...

"What a mess..."

I said to myself; unaware that Wally, who was standing right beside me, heard me. He glanced at me and gave a slight smile that you couldn't help but notice. I turned to him and crossed my arms.

"What are you smiling about? The mission is going horribly so far."

I said with frustration evident in the tone of my voice.

"Yeah, I'm bummed about the mission, but I'm just happy that I was able to catch you. If you got hurt I...Anyway! Thank God I have super speed."

He laughed with that goofy grin of his. My face heated up a bit but not to where my cheeks were really red. How could I be pissed off after he said something like that? Sure it was in his own way but it was still sweet. I decided to tease him about it, hehe. What!? I still had time before Robin and Kaldur came up with a back-up plan.

"Aww, you saved me because you didn't want to see me get my beautiful-self hurt?"

I teased. His face went red this time and he looked away from me in embarrassment.

"N-no...I w-would've done that for a-anyone..."

He was too easy. I hummed in response and he rolled his bright green eyes at me. While the two of us were teasing and aggravating each other, Megan was a few feet away pacing her steps. She had a look of fear and anger on her face. With Megan though, you couldn't really say it was anger. She just doesn't get angry. So in reality, she was basically just having a rude conversation with herself. Kaldur was still thinking of a plan but it did sound like Robin had a plan.

"Hey guys, I think I might have a plan..."

Robin said to us in our minds. Wally looked at me and rolled his eyes again. He sighed and whispered in my ear.

"Here we go again..."

"...I heard that! You thought it why you were saying it dumbass! As I was saying, none of the decoy trucks were attacked. Yeah I know, how unlucky could we get? So I decided that I should use my super awesome hacking abilities to track down where those robotic monkeys are. It turns out that these monkeys have GPS beacons built inside them. So I connected it to my computer and managed to find where they are going at this moment..."

Robin said proudly. Wally threw his hands in the air and groaned.

"Will you get on with it already!?"

Robin did without an insulting comeback and continued to explain where the monkeys were. I wonder if those two were fighting right now. It sure sounded like it.

"...well...it looks like they're headed too...Gotham City! Oh shit, if Batman finds out he's gonna kick us off the mission for good and probably more than that! I'm going to have to ride over there quick before they get there. KF, I'm gonna need you to meet me there. Think you can do that dude?"

He asked the red-headed boy next to me. For the first time since Robin started talking, Wally grinned and put on those bright red goggles of his.

"You know it! I'll be there as fast as I can. I may or may not stop for a burger on the way there though."

"Just get your ass moving!"

Robin yelled, making all of us hold our brains. This telepathic communication was complicated and it kind of hurt sometimes. Megan really needed to work on it. I didn't notice when Wally walked up to me and smiled.

"Well I'm off. You gonna say good-bye? Or give me a hug? Because I'll definitely accept the hug."

He said with a smirk. I stared at him and he bowed his head.

"No hug then?"

"Nope, but I will say that I hope you and Robin are safe by the time we get over there."

I remarked. He shrugged and smiled.

"I'll take that too,"

He then turned to Kaldur and Megan.

"...make sure you guys get there when we need you!"

And with that, he was gone before I could even blink. My hair swayed to the side from his wind and I had to wipe some of it out of my face. Was he flirting with me just then? I couldn't really tell since he said it so casually. I looked at Megan and she read my mind with a smile.

"Don't worry about it; if you weren't here, he would've said that to me too. He does it with every girl he knows."

She told me.

"Not every girl..."

I said, thinking about Peyton. He seemed a bit shy around her or maybe he just didn't want to get on her bad side. I do think he might like her though. God, he's so unpredictable but he is predictable. Does that make sense? Well it doesn't have too! I'm talking to myself again!

"Skylight, are you okay? We're going now."

Kaldur said to me in between my thinking. I flinched at the first using of my superhero name and laughed embarrassingly.

"Yeah, I was just thinking is all. So are we going over there in Miss Martian's ship?"

He nodded as Megan answered my question by calling her ship. She looked apologetically at us and sighed.

"I wish we could've taken Kid Flash on the ship but he can go faster than my ship can. Now he has to run all the way there."

She said as we all packed into her red bio-ship. Knowing him, he was probably in Gotham City by now. I thought it was funny that his he can run his mouth faster than his feet but he's still pretty fast with those too. Once we were all buckled in our seats, Megan started the ship up and we lifted up in the air. Right now we were still in Connecticut so we had to fly all the way to Gotham City; which is in New Jersey if I'm not mistaken.

"The flight should take about twenty minutes with the amount of speed and turbulence we have at the moment. I hope Robin and Wally can fend for themselves before we get there. Do you guys think Superboy is with the monkeys as well? Robin did say he jumped after them..."

Megan said in a quick tone. She was worrying about Conner again. I swear they're together! I bet they are! I'm getting off topic again...

"I assume that's where he is so he'll be there when we get there. I can't believe he just lost it and got mad. I told him this morning that if he didn't calm down, he was getting it,"

I giggled. I tried to lighten up the mood but it wasn't really working. She kept tapping her foot and I think I could hear her heart beat all the way from where I was sitting. Kaldur sat quietly in the corner with a serious look on his face. He wasn't blinking so I guess he was thinking to himself. If you're leader of the group, you have to make a plan for everything apparently.

"Five more minutes and we're there."

Megan said; bringing the three of us out of the awkward silence. Five minutes left? It felt way longer than that. Staring out the window, I saw the skyline of Gotham City. The buildings stood high and tall in all of their glory while the people went on with their day. It didn't matter whether it was day or night, hundreds of people were always on the bustling streets of the large city. I turned my head from the window to look at the other two people who were with me.

"Did Robin tell you exactly where they were? We can't just search the city for the whole night."

I said. Megan nodded and pressed her fingers to her temples.

'Robin, where are you? Is Superboy there with you?'

She asked from her mind. There was a pause before we heard Robin's voice.

'We are fighting at my freakin school guys! Gotham Academy! We're currently in the gym fighting some kind of android. This one seems like he has all of the league's abilities! Superboy is with Wally and I but we are still getting our asses kicked by this stupid thing. I think Batman was right in saying this is Professor Ivo's work. Ah! Damn it! Please hurry!'

He said to us frantically. I'm glad they were still okay, but the way he put it, they wouldn't last long! Megan instantly set the course for the academy and we were there in no time. The three of us were literally sprinting to help our friends. If they were in trouble, I'm sure as hell going to help them! We entered the academy as fast as we could and made our way to the gym.

"The gym's over here!"

I yelled when I saw the sign in front of the gym doors at the end of the hallway.

Bang!

An explosion occured right when we were about to enter the gym and we were forced to the ground by the shock wave of it. The three of us got up before we even reacted to the blast and bursted through the doors. God I hope they're alright!

"Guys, you're late!"

Robin said to us with a weird look. I was worried about what he meant by that, but my worry eased when I saw that he had a smile on his face. I sighed in relief and looked around. Parts of the said android were all over the place. Connor was sitting on the ground rubbing his right fist and Wally was on the bleachers holding his side. I jogged over to him and laid my hand on his shoulder. He looked up at me with watery eyes and I immediately got concerned.

"Wally, are you okay?"

I asked. He wiped his eyes and groaned slightly while keeping his hand on his ribs.

"Y-yeah, it's just the android grabbed me and squeezed me. My bones cracked until this arrow saved me from him."

He told me while holding up a long sharp arrow.

"...he let me go to deflect the arrow but my bones are still aching."

He said with soreness written all over his countenance. I sighed sympathetically and helped him up slowly. He grunted but was able to stand without my help. Maybe I should have given him that hug back when he wanted me too...nah! But I was still worried about him nonetheless. He was still my best friend after all.

"Can you walk by yourself?"

I asked. I swear if he asks me to hold or carry him, I'm kicking his ass. He nodded, to my surprise, but grunted every time he took a step. So I helped him anyway because he looked like a limping puppy and I'm just a really good person.

"Thanks Scarlett..."

He said quietly. I tilted my head at him and looked at my hand that was supporting him.

"No problem but...you're not going to flirt in this perfect flirting moment? I mean that's your area of expertise."

I laughed. He smiled and shook his head.

"You know I would, but I need my super awesome sexy laugh to flirt with girls and if I laugh right now I think my ribs will break. God, this fucking sucks...And it's the perfect moment too...Oh well, I'll get you any other day."

He said smiling. I rolled my eyes as we both walked into Megan's bio-ship. Robin followed after us with the android's parts in his and Connor's hands. He said Batman would like to do some research on it once we got back. Wally sighed in pain as he made it in his chair. I bet it felt like that feeling when you first lay down for bed after a day's work. Everyone knows what I'm talking about. Anyway, after a couple minutes of preparation and first aid, we lifted up in the air and flew back to the cave. Connor was still pissed since professor Ivo managed to escape while they are busy with the enemy. He actually reminded me that I was still mad about what he did today. He totally went against everything I told him! What the hell!?

"Finally..."

Wally said loudly once we landed in the cave's hangar. Canary was waiting outside for us and helped us with everything we needed. Batman was here as well when we all walked into the mission room.

"No need to give me the details of the mission because I already know. I know everything."

Batman said to us. Really? Everything Batman? He continued,

"...The league has now moved Professor Ivo to the top of list as top priority on finding him. But enough about him for one day, the team did good. I'm impressed you were able to secure the android all by yourselves without calling the league. However, you can call us for back-up whenever you want..."

Robin frowned at his partner in crime and held up the arrow Wally was holding.

"Are you sure you didn't help us? Because who else uses arrows as their weapon hmm?"

Batman stared at the arrow for a second before Canary talks for him.

"That's not Green Arrow's arrow. The tip is too rigid. Plus, I know all about his tips."

She said slowly with a smile. We all stared at her in silence until she awkwardly walked out of the room with a red face. She just goes to show that it doesn't matter what age you are; you're still going to be a fucking pervert. Robin looked back at the arrow, gave up on the subject, and gave it back to Wally.

"Souvenir! Ow! Shouldn't have yelled."

The ginger said. I giggled and put the arrow on his shelf of souvenirs. He thought the shelf was impressive but I thought it was kind of dumb. Maybe it was a guy thing. Meh.

"Thanks Scarlett. I'm going to sleep on the couch tonight since I don't feel like going back to my house. I don't think I'm going to school either..."

He said. My eyes went wide as I realized I would be alone for the whole school day. I have Peyton but come on! Skipping one day wouldn't hurt.

"I'm not going either. I'm going to take care of you!"

I said in an over-exaggerated way. He gasped and grinned.

"No way! Really!?"

"No but I will help you around if you need me too. Now if you will excuse me, I'm going to bed. Goodnight Wally."

I said softly while patting his arm. He smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, goodnight. Hey we can totally have like a watch-movies-all-day thing tomorrow. If your up for it that is..."

"Yeah hehe, that sounds like fun! See ya tomorrow."

I said while walking away from him and into my room. I slipped off my superhero uniform and put on the usual; a T-shirt and shorts. I got in my bed and clutched the feather pillow my head was on. I guess I really didn't want to go to school anyways. Watching movies with Wally sounded much more fun...

And that is the end of the chapter! I'm so sorry for the late update but I'm trying to get better at writing faster. But then again, how many writers do you know who update as fast as I do? Only a handful right? Anyway, I tried my best with the chapter but I had severe writer's block for the past couple of hours lol.
