Okay, sorry about taking so long but in case you haven't noticed, I've been kind of distracted with my two other stories 'Hey I'm in High School' and 'It Takes Five Robots AND A Liaison to Get the Job Done'. If you like stories about before the war or TFA, then check those out.
Anyways, Disclaimer: I only own Amelia, Cassidy, Skylar and the plot.
Sorry if it isn't as good as you expected it to be.

"Hey 'Cade?" I started, later in the late evening, gaining Barricade's attention from his berth where he was resting his eyes. I had been back in out room for about an hour and we had made very little talk. "Could you explain to me why you joined the Decepticons? And left Prowl?"
This seemed to cause 'Cade to freeze in his position. He literally wasn't moving. Not even blinking. Could he blink? I don't know, never really bothered to look. "'Cade? Hello?" I called out to him, trying to snap him out of his little trance. Thankfully it worked. He sat up and turned to me.
"Where did you hear that?" he asked very slowly.
"It's a long story that I'd rather not explain right now. But please answer my question. Why did you leave Prowl on his own back on Cybertron?" I pushed. Barricade's vents let out a gush of sir. I suppose that was the equivalent of a sigh.
"It was because I had to." This threw me completely off track.
"What? What do you mean? You never had to do anything." I replied, confused. Suddenly, 'Cade's optics turned very hard and stern. On several occasions he's grown very serious, angry and his optics became hard, but this time, it looked like they hardened in sadness. He turned to me with said optics and leaned in close, gently wrapping his little finger around my upper arm.
"Amelia, you have to understand, before I joined the 'Cons, I was a very troubled mech. I was tied up in with the wrong 'bots. Some of them very bad. Nearly all of them were 'Cons. Some were neutral, but there were no Autobots because they didn't so that kind of stuff." Barricade started explaining. "I owed a lot of mechs a lot of credits and our family didn't have enough credits to pay them all. Obviously, I didn't let my family find out all the trouble I was in. Especially Prowl, he was too young. So when they started threatening me, I wasn't making a big a deal as I should have. I though that they were just going to beat me up or something or other. But I was far wrong." 'Cade explained. "I suppose Prowl already told you about what happened from his point of view?" he asked. I nodded. "Well, when we found the house burnt down, I knew immediately, it was from one of the gangs. I knew they were going to try and kill Prowl too. So I had to get him away from there."
"So you ran away with him. But why were you so cold to him?" I accused.
"Because I didn't want him to know why I was so... distraught. If he had ever figured out, he would have run away from me and most likely get in the hands of one of the gangs. So I took him as far as I could from Praxus, our hometown. Six vorns later, one of the 'Con gang members found me. It was Starscream. But he didn't want his credits anymore. At first I was relieved that he wasn't wanting the credits anymore, but that didn't last very long..." 'Cade continued.
Flashback - Barricade's PoV
Thankfully Prowl had gone to try and borrow some credits in the street around the block to get some energon for us. Because Starscream found me.
"Ah Barricade. How pleasant to see you." he started, but I cut him off to save time.
"If you're after your credits 'Screamer, then you're out of luck. I don't have any credits for you to take. Only the upgrades on my back struts. You found me for nothing!" I hissed at him. But he actually smirked, then started chuckling, then full out laughing. "What's do funny?"
"Oh you misunderstand my dear Barricade. I am not here for credits." he chuckled. I vented in relief.
"So what are you here for?" I asked curiously. As soon as the answer rolled off his glossa, I wished I'd never asked.
"I'm here for Prowl."
"No. No you can't take him. I won't let you!" I cried." I'll do anything! Anything I tell you!" I begged. He seemed to contemplate this for a click.
"Hmmn, there is only one thing that you can do in order to spare your brother." Starscream started saying.
"Anything! I'll do it." I interrupted.
"You will come with me back to the Decepticons and pledge your allegiance to Lord Megatron and full service of the Decepticons." Starscream finished. Anything but that.
"Please, there has to be another way! Anything else and I'll do it. But please not that!" I begged.
"It's either that or little Prowler is-" he started.
"I'll do it. Just let me go and see him one last time and tell him where I'm going." I agreed. "Please allow me at least that much."
"Very well."
End Flashback.
"... You know what else happened. I left Prowl and went with Starscream and the 'Cons to protect him. At least I tried to. Never stopped them from hurting him on the field." Barricade summarised. I remained silent, not knowing what to say to him. "Back when we were still with the 'Cons, I took a liking to you because you in somewhat way, reminded me of Prowl when he was younger. All scared and timid. Never knowing what was going on. I felt like it was my job to make sure no harm came to you. As much as I could prevent anyway." he finished.
"I-I... wow." I murmured. "Y-You did... the right thing. But, why didn't you explain to Prowl as soon as you saw him when we got here?" I asked him.
"Because... I was afraid that he would still hate me for leaving him and for knowing the real reason behind out creators' demises." he replied.
"Prowl only wants you back. To be his brother again. A real brother." I told him.
"Are you sure?"
"He told me himself. You should go and explain things to him tomorrow."
"I don't know if I could face him again properly. After all I did. I hurt him, hit him, scared him beyond creation. What would I even say to him?" Barricade panicked.
"I can go with you tomorrow morning before I go to meet up with Bee, dad, Maggie, Cassidy, Skylar and Jazz."
"Prowl, can we talk with you for a minute?" I asked, opening the door after knocking the door.
"We?" he asked confused. Barricade came in through the 'bot sized door.
"We." he answered for me. Prowl sat behind his desk, completely stunned. I would've thought he'd be slightly less surprised. I did say I was going to talk to him about what we had discussed.
"Yes." he said. "T-Take a seat." he said, motioning to the seats in front of his desk. I ran to keep up with 'Cade's swift strides. I once again climbed the ladder to the top of Prowl's desk. All the way up there was a tense silence. I could cut the air like a knife it was so thick. Deciding to break the ice, I started explaining things to Prowl.
"Prowl, it wasn't 'Cade's choice to join the Decepticons. I mean it was, but he did it to protect you." I briefly explained to him. He looked at 'Cade in shock. Then to me, then back at 'Cade.
"It's true. Starscream found me and he gave me a choice to either join the Decepticons or he would take you, most likely to either make you a 'Con or kill you." Barricade explained.
"Why were you always so cruel to me?" he asked 'Cade. I noticed that he self-consciously grabbed one of his arms. It looked like it was completely scratched and dented underneath to armour piece. 'Cade didn't do that, did he? He couldn't have. But he did say that he had done stuff that he's always regretted. He used to always tell me that. It was like his motto.
"Because, I was worried what you would think if you knew the truth. So my sadness turned into anger which turned into rage around you." Barricade explained to him. "I am very sorry for the way I treated you. I never wanted to hurt you, but I did." he added.
"I just want my big brother back. My real big brother." Prowl told him, smiling faintly. Daawwwh! That is so adorable! He only wants his brother back. This is making me so emotional.
"I only want my little brother to be happy." 'Cade replied, smiling back. Interrupting the meeting, I started talking.
"You guys are just too much for me," I started, wiping tears starting to brim around my eyes. "I'm gonna go before you really make me cry." I wheezed out, going down the ladder to get away from the massive love fest. But before I reached the bottom, Prowl had gotten out of his chair from behind his desk, forcing 'Cade to rise as well out of habit and Prowl did the last thing I ever expected him to do: he hugged him. It was like that part in Uncle Buck when the daughter hugs the mom! It was so emotional.
"Aww! You guys!" I wailed, joining in the hug around their ankles. It wasn't a very good hug, but a hug all the same. 'Cade's chuckle reached my ears and I kicked him gently. But gentle for him was as hard as I could for me. So I full out kicked him. "I'm so happy you two are friends again!" I cried in happiness.
Sorry this was such a really short chapter, but I couldn't come up woth anything else. please let me know about what you think about 'Cade's PoV and if he did the right thing? Maybe? Maybe not? It is up to you the public! Personally, I think it's a good reason to do what he did, although what he did was generally wrong.
Review!
