Just Another Pretty Face

Chapter 14

Elena

Elena could not recall in that moment a time where she had been this nervous as she loomed around the door to the drama club wondering whether or not she should step into it and make a fool out of herself with this new look or just bail out on this class together and hide under the covers for the rest of her life. Unfortunately she didn't have much of an option when the door to the classroom flung open and Damon Salvatore himself stepped out of the room looking her over as if she was a new person.

"Oh, hey Elena. I almost didn't recognize you there with the new look and everything."

Elena rolled her eyes as she slammed her shoulder against Damon's walking straight passed him as if he were nothing and sitting down at her desk as if she had done nothing at all. Damon stood there stunned as she narrowed her eyes at him. She knew her response had been childish but she was tired of feeling ignored by him. She wanted something with someone and she wanted it to be rel. She was finally seeing that things would never be real with him. Not if he kept playing her like this. Rolling his eyes Damon left the room making her feel colder than usual as liam sat down next to her looking at both her end Damon as if he had noticed the exchange between them.

"Trouble in paradise?" he asked sneaking another look at Damon.

"I don't see how that's any of your business."

"Well it looks like someone is extra Catty today."

"You're right. It must be the new hair."

"It looks good."

"Thanks. I guess."

"I'm being serious. It really suits you."

"Okay, I'll bite. What do you want?"

"How about a date ?"

"You can't be serious. I don't even know you that well."

"I think that's exactly why people date in the first place."

"I guess you have a point there, but why ask me out now? "

"I think you have a good idea why"

Elena's eyes traveled to where Liam's eyes rested on Damon who was now chatting up yet another girl. Great. Just what she needed to see.

"What does that girl being with Damon bother you too?"

"More like the other way around."

"Do you like the girl he's talking to?"

"I've liked her for a very long time now, but unfortunately she has no idea I exist."

"Trust me, I know the feeling."

"That's why I thought we could help each other."

"How so?"

"What if we went on a date with each other?"

"How would that help us with our situation?"

"Well don't tell Aden that I told you, but she told me where they were going on a date tonight and I was kind of hoping that you would help me crash their party."

"and why would I do that?"

"Because I know how much you want him and if you help me I could help you get him."

"They're not objects Liam, they're people."

"Unfortunately to obtain what we want we can't think of them that way."

"Listen he's still my friend and I won't do this to him."

" and yet he could do it to you?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"What I mean by that is you've been in love with him for as long as I've known you and I know you're as tired of him ignoring you as everybody else is so you either have to do something drastic to get his attention or forget about him and move on the choice is yours."

Sighing Elena took one look to where Damon was still talking to Aden and frowned feeling a sharp twisting feeling in her gut. He was right. She knew he was. She would not sit around any longer wait for him to figure it out. It was time for her to do something drastic.

"alright I'm in. Tell me what we're going to do."
